The first 2 family dramas I watched were Man Who Sets the Table (low rated but I was really addicted to it when it was airing) & My Golden Life (only watched it to see what the hype was about but I started liking it when the FL moved into the other family's house, and I really liked the instrumental/background music in that drama) also watched Come! Jang Bo Ri since it was the same writer of The Last Empress, and A Hundred Year's Inheritance (was on TV a long time ago in Cantonese dubbed but I didn't watch it back then) am gonna try to watch My Father is Strange since I like Lee Yoo Ri, Ryu Soo Young & Ahn Hyo Seop, but I prefer to watch the makjang type of dramas like the previous 2 listed since I need that addictive factor to keep me hooked to such long dramas (I get addicted to makjangs while feeling bored at slice of life lol)
the currently watching score is actually 6.97 though if you hover over that number. I've rated plenty of high rated popular dramas low and vice versa.. can't trust MDL ratings lol I'm also watching another older daily Ugly Alert but it's more slice of life and not as addicting as watching a makjang daily xD
Scores don't matter for me since I've been addicted to low rated dramas similar to these types of plots meanwhile struggling to like many popular hyped dramas since last year ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
5.7 is this drama really this bad. I like the actors but if the drama is a waste then rather not watch.
it's not that bad but it's just your typical daily makjang drama which probably just doesn't appeal to the mainstream tastes of MDL users, like with Fashion King which was also rated 5.7. I haven't watched the main actors here before but I am liking the ML character, it was a slow start but the ML starts getting revenge after the first 20 eps.
can anyone suggest a similar drama where the female lead hides her isdentity and manipulates male lead? One thai…
The Promise (Lee Yoo Ri's older daily drama) she disguises herself as her twin sister for revenge. Thai dramas - the ones I thought of were Sorn Ngao Ruk or Bai Mai Tee Plid Plew (The Fallen Leaf) but these ones are male characters played by female actresses... although the twin sister in Sorn Ngao Ruk is manipulative and sometimes disguises as her twin brother to make the ML fall in love with her.
Lee Yeon's back story in the 2nd ep kinda reminds me of Gu Family Book I can't get used to Lee Dong Wook's role lol I still think he looks better as a Grim Reaper xD
my family used to record them on TV all the time with VHS tapes back then. My favourite shows were Ups and Downs in the Sea of Love, Monkey King: Quest for the Sutra, The Battle Against Evil, Eternal Happiness, Last One Standing & Beyond the Realm of Conscience (didn't like the sequel though) didn't watch that many though since I was more interested in anime and got into k-dramas in 2013.
random comment: I discovered this drama because of the background music "B Rosette" (which I found with Shazam) it was used in Eulachacha Waikiki and Zombie Detective.
That Boys over Flowers OST in 6 episode had me in stitches xD
Almost Paradiseeee xD I loved that entire scene haha! "This chicken. That chicken. Get rid of them all. I'm sick of raw chickens." *smiling while listening to his own heartbeat* LOL at that dude who thinks he's crazy
This would be better with less humor. Since the very beginning I'm waiting for something cool to happen. Still…
This week's episodes feels like filler/draggier than last week's but Choi Jin Hyuk's scenes and the humor is the best thing about this drama honestly. I think it will start picking up more next week since this drama is already reaching the halfway mark.
Yesss Zombie Detective article (thanks for writing this)! After struggling to like so many popular hyped 2019-2020 dramas I was surprised I actually enjoyed watching this one, the humor/references/cameo actors reminds me of when I first watched Eulachacha Waikiki. CJH is perfect for the role, he is so fun to watch and "as someone commented: yes even as a Zombie he is hot" I also think he looks hot with the eye makeup/bb cream look. The waiting for the next episodes every week is torture, I'm looking forward to this, Lie after Lie and A Man in a Veil.. am also watching his older drama Gu Family Book, love his character there too!
no new eps for Thurs/Friday because of Chuseok (Thanksgiving) why do I always feel hooked to these cliche makjang plots meanwhile struggling to like popular/hyped dramas nowadays... besides this drama I'm just looking forward to Zombie Detective and Lie After Lie
Based on the current episodes, yes! The ML is my favourite character (as you can see on my profile pic/username) lol he is so fun to watch xD the drama's humor reminds me of Eulachacha Waikiki and references to other dramas/movies with cameo actors too.
