i'm still confused with the whole imperial drama. can someone explain or drop link to an explainer on what actually happened? like... why do the Prime MInister's consort lover needed to burn herself? where did Qi Min fit in all of these?
compared to this one, i think blossom has better pacing, and the court intrigue arc is less convoluted so it's easier to understand.
the director perfected his art in this drama, though. so blossom (even though is prettier looking compared to your usual cdramas) has less pretty and detailed shots than pursuit of jade.
pursuit of jade also has better romantic chemistry. but that may have to do with the characterization of the female lead.
I still recommend for you to watch it. the best part is that all the eps are released already! so if you find it slow, you can just skip to interesting parts.
Omg yeah I was waiting for it in but it never came 🥲. Welp at least we have clips from leaked version, I honestly…
just watched ep 38 and yeah.. seems like that scene is too much for the censorship committee. maybe the real reason for the episodes leak is for that scene to see the sunrise? lol
if i got a dime everytime kong xueer plays a loving woman to problematic men who ended up in her hands then i would get 2 dimes which is not much but it's weird that's happening twice lol
qimin and yu qianqian's dynamic makes me want to dabble in toxic romance genre and see how it usually done. anyone can recommend similar dynamic in dramas/books/movies?
really love how the husband wrote the couplets for the whole village and they gave them food in return. it's a simple detail but show how heartfelt the village life there is and why the marquis feels comfortable (if i'm not mistaken in the book the couplets were sold as a way to make money)
if you're idol drama fan then this is absolutely 12/10 total upgrade from the general cdramas. but if you're more into 'serious' dramas with complicated intrigues and messy politics, this is not bad but there's definitely better ones out there.
just made it to ep 2! this drama is so good it really fulfilled all the expectations i had after finding out the director is the same one as Blossom's (praying to drama god this show will only go uphill from here)
