Revenge is a central theme in both stories with multiple characters going to lengths to get revenge on those who hurt them. However, in "Renascence" the main character is out for revenge vs in "Princess Silver" it is the villains' and other main leads.
In both drama the FL marries another person but is then reunited and marries the ML.

This is not a Japanese movie but the action scenes in Deliver Us from evil were as enjoyable in High and Low.
Both dramas are high school dramas
The FL cross-dresses to attend this, boys-only school.
There are lots of cute moments
Also explores the struggles of being an athlete.

I actually can't explain why I'm recommending this but the vibes are really similar, Extracurricular has some psychological tricks to it and so does Stranger from hell. If you're the type that likes to explore how it's possible to make normal things around us could be the reasons for creepy actions that certain people make this is for you.
Ngao is supernatural/horror and Cheewit Puer is action/romance, but both have an ultra "pure"/innocent FL who acts as a purifying influence on the ML and all around her, have cheerful, bright personalities, and really are the ultimate force in setting the ML on a more righteous life path.
Cross has a revenge theme, but it mostly revolved around medial practice, and just delightful to watch.
Zhao Lusi keeps starring these dramas where she is a modern girl appearing in an ancient, magical country. I think Tiger and Rose was much funnier but Love Better Than Immortality had better romance/main couple/male lead.
Gigi Lai and Charmaine Sheh are in both dramas. The plots are not the same at all: War and Beauty is a palace drama while Heaven Sword & Dragon Sabre is wuxia. However, both dramas make you think. There's plenty of mind-manipulation and psychological warfare in both. There's a strong female lead in both dramas, but not necessarily acted by the same actress. Also tragic love, but I won't go into more detail for fear of spoilers! I watched both with my mom as I wouldn't have watched either on my own (they're kinda old and not my typically kind of drama) but they both pleasantly surprised me!
- Have time travel content
- Have twists
- Share same vibe (FLs look alike)
- Have some mystery/ tragic past/ blood scene (some psychologic)
