The cinematography is similar, both about gay men and their struggle surrounding relationships, particularly platonic relationships.

one of my guy friends recommended me this drama saying that if i liked Reply 1988 i would definitely like this one too and so it happend. I am not a 90's kid but watching those dramas really made me wonder what would it have been like if i would experience de 90's life.
both dramas leave you a feeling of acceptance and motivation to fight for your wishes. i recommend Go Back Couple if you liked Reply 1988.

The stories are quite different. But it has that similar vibe. That sadness. That desperate for love . Even one of the casts are in both dramas as leads. Even OSTs would do the job for both dramas.

Both dramas are about undercover cops trying to catch Gangsters. In both ML goes so deep in cover that almost disappears line is he cop or become criminal himself. Both have lots of action. Both have Jung Kyung Ho. Cruel City is best and more high level drama, more realistic plot twists, complex characters, relationships and mind blowing twists in every episode.

The secondary couple of both shows have a similar dynamic, in the sense that there's a role reversal with the Female Character (FL's older sister in True Beauty & ML's older sister in Love With Flaws) being proactively persuing her crush. They are also both successful Female Characters who enjoy being in charge.

Two people are just drawn to each other despite social norms dictating that they should not be together. The notion of do you stay loyal to your family or follow your heart is displayed in both dramas.

Both films are about pictures, family, true connections, unconditional love and granddaughters. Contradicting “blood is thicker than water” as both grand daughters are not really related to their halmonis by blood. Also has similar endings and settings.
