Tho it's not romantic, but the deep relationship between the leads is portrayed especially beautiful and unique, a bit ill-mannered, but kindest at heart, the two main female leads from both drama have both gone through a lot and matured a lot. they both are very reticent and choose to use the very fewest words required to express themselves.

One thing about both drama I APPRECIATE SO MUCH and CHERISHED IT while watching are the long Silent Moments where all you're exposed to hear is the ambient sound and heavy breathing (silent gazes in Lipstick).


I totally recommend BOTH!
Even tho they aren't anything alike in term of character development and story. My mister is a family drama while Lipstick is friendship. but they both are totally a HUMAN DRAMA.

They are both from the same screenwriter (Lee Kyung Hee), maybe that's why you can see some similarities. They are both melodramas.

Both of the these dramas share well crafted scripts and well executed plots twists. Well integrated humor permeates thoughout both dramas. No useless episodes that drag or stupid secrets that go on forever. Enjoyable!

Both female leads undergo plastic surgery in order to make a new beginning in their life and get out of an unhappy marriage and the person in charge/helping them for the transformation is the male lead and romance interest.

Both are about FL guiding a young man through show business and in the process fall in love as they discover more about themselves.

Both are about the movie industry, with a noona romance between a young boy and an older woman who shows him what kind of person he wants to become. My dear boy is more about movie directors, and NKNK is about actors and managers.

Set in the entertainment industry, top management is more about music and singers than movies, but the storylines have similarities with noona romance between a young male actor/talent and an older female manager.

Both are dramas set in show business with a young male actor just beginning, an an older woman who is more experienced and guides him. In drama go go go, the FL is a scriptwriter, whereas in BTD she’s a manger.

Both are older woman/younger men dramas set in show business. The younger male is an actor, and the older woman is someone who has more experience and guides him. In drama go go, Ruby Lin plays a screenwriter rather than a manager.

Another older woman managing a ayou her male actor through the entertainment industry to help him make it big.

Both are older woman/younger man romances with the entertainment business, specifically a talent agency, as the backdrop. Both ladies are singles mothers trying to help young actors make it big while the men fall in love with them as they work together.

Both are shows in the daily-life-comedy genre with a heartfelt undertone. They both take pains to slowly and sympathetically explore the tough and happy parts of the ordinary lives of each character, and can be interpreted as commentary on modern society.

Like kim shin, Bai Qi is a supernatural being who has lived for a very long time helping some of the spirits. Many years later he meets the reincarnate of his lover who is also silly but cute, like Ji Eun Tak . Also the relationship between Bai Qi and Yang Jian is similar to that of Kim shin and the Grimm reaper in that they are enemies but do not go as far as killing each other although I am not sure what happens in the future.. All in all, the similarity is in the reincarnation, spirits/ghosts, romance, frenemies, rich man poor woman and the male lead wanting to protect the female lead while being in denial of his own feelings for her.. Not to mention the similarities in Kim Shin's sword and Bai Qi's umbrella. Awesome story so far..
