Kingdom and Rampant are both set in Joseon era Korea with zombies.
Rampant focuses more on the action and gore. As a movie, it does not have the time for the complex political machinations of your typical historical drama unlike Kingdom, instead Rampant has a far simplified version with only one bad guy trying to take the throne and a whole lot of zombies to deal with.
Hyun Bin hands in another stellar performance as the Crown Prince who has just returned to Joseon to find the country side destroyed by monsters.

The story is the continuity and the prequel of the Candle in the Tomb, creating a back story about the main 4 schools of tomb raiding : Mojin, Faqiu, Xuelin and Banshan.

Although the female characters are in contrast in terms of their behaviour ( Lee Sung Kyung is lively wile Gong Hyo jin is gloomy as a ghost) but then both wants to be near the male leads, they both have need of their presence for their own good.

Both female characters can see a person's life span. Although in different ways. Somehow they both have the need of their leading man because of their past connection or the secret connection that they have that envolves one of their family member.

Both female leads are blind, although for Daisy, it happened to her only halfway at the end. The male leads planned their way on meeting the female leads but then fell in love with her along the way. For the movie though, the intention wasn't bad, unlike for the drama.

Both have a time warp idea. The future boy meeting the past girl and vice versa. Although for the japanese movie there's a more complex idea about the time warp thingy. It shows parallel worlds where some endings here are not the same in the other world there is.

The male lead was portrayed by the same actor which made it give off more of the same feels. Given also that they both have the photographic memory. He's not a good guy I suppose, not that innocent man. The female leads supported and kept watching them with the thought of changing their bad ways, behaviour, and took on the role of being the most understanding person, the male lead could ever had. Believing that they met when they were still young that made the bond stronger.

Both characters were divorcees. There's a deep contempt for their ex-partners. Both marriage was affected by their unsatisfied careers. The female leads experienced emotional breakdowns that their husbands didn't saw and they just kept it in their hearts that soon led the separation. The male leads felt incompetent that they thought was caused after falling in their wives. But then both grew separately and in the end was healed by each other's love again.

Both had a time travel experience with a thought of changing their present life by unmeeting their wife/husband. Characters showed regrets from their past and had a deep contempt for their partners. But then both realized in the end that what happened, happened for a reason,they met for a reason, they fell in love for a reason, it might be fate, or destiny but for me that main reason would be the fruit of the love they once shared and had, their children, and then that's when it came to their mind, that even having that chance to travel back in time and change their ways, make up with their regrets, they would still choose the same path that led to having that little bundle of joy and love that was the result of everything.

I kinda don't remember much about the plot but I feel like this is a female version of prison playbook...

The stories aren't similar, but the filming techniques are alike and both have the same type of feeling.

The stories are both just moments of high school life with small details and no big plot points. The directing for them both is amazing and symbolic.

Even though this one doesn't have supernatural elements I felt similar vibes; there're mysteries of the past to be untangled, it deals with heavy themes and there're some mind games regarding the reveal of the culprit, the OST makes you equally melancholic... You might give it a go and perhaps enjoy it :)

Both pioneered the whole "america remaking asian horror" films in the early 2000s and both are about a vengeful female spirit set out on attacking anyone who crosses them. if you've seen the american version of either films you need to watch the original. they're so much better.

Similar concepts where a king travels to the present. Though the king in My Assassin Girlfriend seems to be more intelligent when it comes to navigating the modern world.
