Male Leads are very similar - both sickly due to being poisoned but secretly skilled in martial arts with a mind full of schemes to navigate the murky waters of palace politics or the jianghu. They'll withold some truths in their initial interactions with their female leads, but have put their health/safety aside to save their lovers from danger/death.
Mu Qingyan from GTG is a bit more conniving than Xiao Huayong, but both are driven in their search for truth/revenge.

Both dramas are directed by the same director and have a gentle, emotional, and romantic feel. They focus mainly on the relationship between the two leads, showing their love growing naturally over time. Both stories include meaningful connections, personal growth, and a warm sense of companionship, with the romance developing through simple, everyday moments. They also have a soft and beautiful atmosphere and explore themes of love, timing, and finding someone who becomes an important part of your life.

Very similar styles of story telling. Both are dramatic and over the top, a bit disjointed and fast paced. Cinematography has a darker pallet, revenge story for a wronged female lead.

Both are similar to the extent that the two series are set in the entertainment industry and delves into the whole process of the production (both even use the technique of changing the ratio to distinguish the "fiction" from "reality"), and that the main leads who are both actors get closer and catch feelings while shooting their show.
