Daniel Zhou is the male lead in both. The male lead in both dramas carry emotional burdens and the female leads are a North Star, helping the MLs overcome their trauma. Both dramas have a deeply intertwined connection by the OTPs that gets tested by time, separation, and emotional baggage before a dramatic reunion. The FLs push the MLs away, insisting that it is for his best. Both feature strong, grounded female leads who act as his anchor while overcoming through their own trauma. The MLs are intense, devoted green-flags who will wait through the storm for the person they love. Both have time jumps. Sniper Butterfly has an age gap between the leads while Never-Ending Summer is a relationship between peers. Both share themes of resilience, yearning, and finding an anchor in someone else .

If *When Life Gives You Tangerines* left a hole in your heart, then *Go Ahead* should be your next watch.

Although one is a Korean period drama and the other is a modern Chinese drama, they share the same emotional core. Both tell deeply human stories about family, love, healing, and sacrifice, reminding us that the people who become our family aren't always the ones we're born into.

Like *When Life Gives You Tangerines*, *Go Ahead* takes its time, allowing its characters to grow over the years. It explores the lasting impact of childhood, the quiet sacrifices parents make, and how love is often shown through everyday acts of care rather than grand gestures.

Both dramas find beauty in ordinary life. They'll make you laugh, break your heart, and leave you with a profound appreciation for the relationships that shape us. Their greatest strength isn't romance—it's the way they portray unconditional love in all its forms.

If what you loved most about *When Life Gives You Tangerines* was its warmth, emotional depth, and unforgettable family dynamics, then I truly believe *Go Ahead* will give you that same feeling.

Both dramas tell a deeply emotional story about a married couple on the brink of divorce who get a second chance to heal their relationship. While the Chinese drama Be With Me focuses on modern, slice-of-life realism, family duties, and slow-burn reconciliation across generations, the Korean drama Go Back Couple adds a fantasy time-travel twist—sending the unhappy couple back to their college days to rediscover why they fell in love while dealing with the raw, emotional burdens of adulthood and miscommunication.

These are both Thai dramas that go far beyond your typical boys love series. They both explore darker elements and the chemistry of the leads in each is off the charts.

You will not find many similarities between them.

JBL (or Rain or Shine, why did you change the name, it was always Just Between Lovers, hence JBL) is about two average, not loaded with money, people which are dealing with similar ptsd after surviving the same tragic event.
E is about average guy and loaded lady falling for each other against their surroundings.

HOWEVER the sweetness and innocence of their relationship, the slow burn, the nice things the guy is doing for the lady, the way the lady starts to trust - those are things I found similar. And also the poor camera man who was desperately trying to do cute pictures from different angles (I'm laughing here, but yeah both dramas are really nicely directed, there are sunsets and cute scores in the background).
