In both the romantic male leads have significant deficiencies, and their duty means they are not able to honour their love the way they would like if they were a "normal" person
HOWEVER, the main character in the Story of Yanxi Palace is a schemer, and plotter, out for revenge, not trusting, and it takes her quite awhile to make any friendships
In Against the Current, the female lead so far is kind, generous and sociable, she often lives for others as much as for herself

Both drama follows the life of the female lead. Both female leads are the smart, quiet, and resilient types. The biggest similarity comes from how grounded both stories and respective characters are. They feel very realistic and authentic. The productions are top tier as well. Truly the gems of this genre.

Similar to DEX's Fridge Interview, Please Take Care of My Refrigerator (also called Chef & My Fridge) is a variety show that has been airing and loved since 2014. Why I recommend it as being similar is because both the shows celebrities are invited and their fridge is looked into - what ingredients, dishes, etc are there. While Please Take Care of My Refrigerator is essentially a cooking variety show, as there are well-known chefs who compete and make dishes out of the ingredients from the celeb's fridge, DEX's show is more like a chat show. But both are exciting, fun, filled with humor, banter and stories and a delight for food and cooking lovers.
