Both are historical dramas that are centered around scheming and power struggles in the imperial court with intelligent and crafty protagonists seeking revenge against powerful political factions.

Both also have cross-dressing female leads. Empress Ki has more action and focus on the love triangle, while The Rise of the Phoenixes has more complex politics. The romance in The Rise of Phoenixes is also strong, but more understated. I found that both dramas had compelling characters as well as some excellent performances. The Rise of the Phoenixes definitely has higher production values. Empress Ki has faster (and generally more even) pacing.

Very similar dramas that focus on the same time period. Mr Sunshine is kind of a precursor to different dreams, It shows the beginning of Japan's take over whereas different dreams is when japan has a lot of control in Korea. Freedom fighters for both dramas, amazing actors and chemistry.

They have similar plots - real world and unreal mixed (In W it's a webtoon and in "Memories of the Alhambra" video game becomes real).
Both have great ML cast.
MOTA has great acting from FL too;
But in general you cant compare this dramas, MotA is really great high class complex drama without any cliche and plot holes, everything is perfect, cinematography is amazing, characters, storylines, everything...

Compare to MotA, W is just primitive..
soo it's better to watch W first, because after "Memories of the Alhambra" you might not like W

The stories are not similar but they are both Thai BL series from the same company (Gr8digit) and they aired on WeTV the same year.

Both BL series have a younger/older couple where the younger guy takes care of the older's child because their wife left them and they eventually develop romantic feelings for each other as they become closer.

Both are Thai BL series where one of the leads and part of the support characters work as Motorcycle taxi drivers.

Both shed a light on morality and human nature.
There is a lot of lying involved and the more you uncover the more uneasy you feel.
They both made me think a lot after finishing the drama.

Both dramas deal with mental health issues and how they impact the interpersonal relationships throughout the main characters' lives.

The similarities between these two movies,are: -supernatural,fantasy,action, aliens,vampires,investigation, mysteries to solve, demons to kill, badass ML,fighting partners,sword fighting,strong female lead,half-demon-half-human,assistance female lead,the same actors, and of course the continuation of the story, being the third part of the series!

Both are historical films set in the Joseon period. Though The Throne tells a personal story about the strained relationship between a father and son and The Fortress a political one about leadership when faced with no favorable options, I felt that there was some similarity in the atmospheres of these films. While not entirely bleak, these are films that explore human struggles when the tragic end is all but assured. They are both beautifully crafted, elevated by the performances, soundtracks, and cinematography.

They include fox spirits. Bai Qian is a white fox who goes to practice in Kunlun mountain.

Bai Shisan is a red fox who has to find the elixir in Wang Zijin’s body and take it away.

This movie it has the same things in common with the first one, because it is the continuation of the story, other mysteries to be solved, with the same actors in the main roles,and the most important thing to know is the second part of this series !

Both are critically acclaimed historical films from director Lee Joon Ik. These films tell the stories of controversial Joseon royals and focus primarily on exploring character and relationships, rather than politics.

Both shows focus on protagonists who faced a lot of pain when they were children; including being experimented upon when they were in an orphanage. The Male Lead in both shows is morally ambiguous and hell-bent on making someone pay for what they did. They also have a soft spot for the Female Lead, with whom they share a childhood connection.
