while "Dear X" and "Empress Ki" may not seem similar at first glance, they both offer unique and captivating stories with strong female leads.
Both Dear X and Empress Ki feature strong, manipulative female leads who aren't afraid to play the game to get what they want. However, the extent of their ruthlessness and the underlying motivations differ.

Dear X: The female lead, while cunning and strategic, is driven more by a sense of revenge and a desire to expose the truth. Her actions, though often calculated, are rooted in a personal vendetta.
Empress Ki: The female lead, Ki Seung-Nyang, is a master manipulator who rises to power through political intrigue and strategic alliances. Her ruthlessness is more pronounced as she navigates the treacherous world of the Yuan court,

While both characters exhibit manipulative tendencies, Empress Ki is arguably more ruthless and calculated in her pursuit of power, making her a more complex and morally ambiguous figure.

If you're into low-budget K-dramas with an opposing threat (criminal) plotline that is executed in the most underwhelming way possible, you'll like both of these.

It's similar to The Moon and Back because it shows a healthy relationship between the Leads, which is quite rare for Thai dramas. Once they get together they stick together. It also focuses on family and the male leads family also don't like the female lead. It contrasts the male leads' toxic family with the female lead's happy and healthy family.

Synopsis:
Dr. Purim, a renowned cardiothoracic surgeon from a privileged family, breaks free from his father's controlling influence to live independently. His secret hobby is baking, a form of solace. However, his peaceful life is disrupted when he gets a Bohemian-dressed neighbor, Matalada. She's raised by a loving single father who owns a cabaret. Mistaking Purim's Halloween cake for something sinister, she enters his life. They bond over baking, and Matalada's warmth and unconventional family fill the void in Purim's heart.
