It’s basically a remake except the night of the comet 2 has a happy ending and the plot is different. The only thing similar is the alternate universe concept!

Neglected rich boy has been cared for by his loyal poor bff/protector for ~years, yet when it comes to telling the whole truth about their *real* feelings, they have quite a difficult time getting there. In LA, the rich one returns from an extensive overseas stay & discovers their bff now seems to have eyes for someone else.. & a messy "mostly straight" triangle ensues (& is yet to be resolved years later). In WYEL, things are handled somewhat better, & with a much ~brighter ending, at least. <3

Both are socially aware films that focus on discrimination and oppression of those who are weak in society (those who are poor or those who are immigrants or unattractive).

Similar premise: Alien beings treated as gods. Romance between one of those said gods and a female warrior. Battle of the gods affecting the human realm.

both chinese movies from the 90s have a chinese opera element (Farewell my Concubine revolves heavily around Chinese opera and in Raise the Red Lantern one of the characters was an opera singer) and that connection to opera also shows in the osts. The stories start in the 1920s where our main protagonists get send off by their mothers, have a kind of betrayal element and dont end happily. Also Dong Li stars in both films.

Teiichi is comparable to Kaguya as both are elites who are proud, competitive and strategic in their plans. The difference lies in their motive. While Teiichi is vying for the position of becoming president, Kaguya, is ploying to make the President confess to her. They are also unintentionally funny, and that's one of the reasons why I like these two movies so much.

Note: If you haven't seen the anime of Kaguya-sama: Love is War, it is definitely better since it is longer (it already has 2 seasons). But of course, I still appreciate the live action.

This is another age-gap drama with the younger man/older woman trope. In this case, they work in the same office, and she ends up drinking too much one night while in a group setting, the group setting splits up, and the rest is history. He falls in love with her first and it's an uphill battle because her self-esteem is so low. On the whole, cute, several tropes utilized, but a sweet main couple. She just needs more confidence in herself (that gets old).

Did you like how your favourite heroes changed, how all that happiness became bitterness? From hero to villain. The ending climax of Advisor Allience Season 2 which has been built up since the beginning is the same as Six Flying Dragons.

The Time We Were Not in Love is remake of Taiwanese drama In Time With You. I Don't Love You Yet is also remake of TWN In Time With You.

it focus on artistic part. the plot/story is not easily understood. most people may find the movie boring.

Both share the a very similar sub-plot of a father who is deeply effected by the loss of his daughter that he neglects his family as he mourns. In both cases, each father finds closure on her return. A Doppelgänger in one and a her spirit in the other.

in sweet combat the ML makes a comeback and in skate into love FL make a comeback into their respective sports and their partners encourages them.

in both dramas the couple faces a lot of difficulties and yet get back together.

Li Jiaqi and Zhao Yiqin reunite again, this time for a more matured style of drama.

AOL is a lot better plot-wise and acting but this is basically similar. There is a sweet and happy period then things go to hell. The Ml also end up killing each other then bringing each other back to life.

They are both revenge dramas. Both heroines went to jail for crimes they did not commit. "Very very evil characters." Also an entire family is in on the plot to send heroine to jail.
