The Mystic Nine series is about the nine grave robbing families who are the ancestors of The Lost Tomb's main characters current and future generations. A prequel to The Lost Tomb and provides a really good contextual background.

This is the first one in series, The Lost Tomb 2 is a continuation of the of this saga. Even though the actors changed for part 2, watching the first one will help contextualize the second one.

Both are slow paced stories of romance that is developed in unconventional ways. The relationships form more on their own rather than show every moment as they progress.

The characters of Kim Joo Young and Maya feel similar in certain ways (both are educators and have that dark witch-like style!) but their inner motives are completely different. Both stories are focused on school and education in today's society.

The bright female lead chases after the cold male lead who uncovers his soft spot for her—a trope as old as time but so well done in both dramas that it remains refreshing and tugs at your heartstrings. Both dramas are filled with sweetness that brings out the giddy romantic in you and makes you melt. The cast features an ensemble of characters you love through and through. You'll also see a familiar face in Hu Yi Tian (whether you're a fan or not) playing the stoic boy with some killer one-liners. Top of my recommendations list for anyone looking for something fun and sweet!

The lead characters form an odd pair as well as eccentric individuals in Beautiful Gong Shim. It’s similar to Go Go Squid because of the older man/younger woman theme that no one would believe they would end up together. They are as adorable as the couple in Go Go Squid.

A seemingly odd couple composed of a cold male executive who pairs with a younger female and the relationship that slowly builds between. Both dramas start with fake relationships that develop into cute romance.

Boss and Me pairs a cold wealthy male company man with a younger energetic women. Their relationship develops against the odds.
