HUGE THANK FOR THE HAPPY ENDING

This became one of the best C-dramas/Boy’s Love series of 2026 that I’ve ever watched. Watching this drama finally ended my anxiety. The storyline is full of challenges: there’s joy, sadness, hatred, and that’s just the nature of life. There’s always sweetness and bitterness that we have to endure. Thank you so much, Ayden, Lusi, Faxuan, Hejia, and all the actors involved. You all gave your best, and it really showed to everyone who watched this drama. And another huge thank you for giving us a happy ending.
One more thing: Jiage Li’s cover of the OST A Love Song Nobody Cares About (没人在乎的情歌) for this drama never disappoints... just like his song "Degenerate" (沦陷), the OST from A Round Trip to Love (双程), the earlier version of this drama. I love it so much!

BORRRING

I’m gonna keep this short and straightforward.

Honestly, ik many ppl might not agree with this but as soon as I found out Eun Tae Hee was the endgame, I felt like dropping this.

I still ended up watching it and it’s more than obvious how disappointed I am.
Eun Tae Hee’s character was so bland and boring but still somehow confident which made her even more annoying.

And as a die hard fan of Woo Do Hwan, his character in this was just HORRENDOUS. This man doesn’t know what or who he even wants 🤨 He also wasn’t sincere with his friends at all. I despise how he played this character and the character itself.

Honestly, there was absolutely NO chemistry between him and Tae Hee. I don’t know what made the writers look at them and think, “Yeah, this looks good.” The drama went downhill as soon as she appeared on the screen, no offence.

He’d probably be more passionate kissing Soo Ji if, of course, he were to do that.
Initially, I was wishing they end up together but it didn’t take long to realize that he should just stick w smn like Tae Hee.

You Who Came From The Stars.

If you ever had a chance to meet a version of you from another life and timeline, what would you do?
Love Upon A Time's underlying theme rests upon this fact. Like any other time travel drama, it comes with the same caveats, but what I admired about the story as it wrapped up, was how consistent the characters and rules of time were.
You just know that there existed a distinction between the past and the present, almost as if the flow was rough around the seams. But, it is this little point that made me add an additional half stars to my 8.5 rating.
Well, here goes my thoughts.

Time travel and History are two genres that rarely do well in synergy. The suspension of disbelief becomes a necessity to admire its beautiful and often tragic elements; something that viewers find highly disconcerting as the existence of paradoxes makes the former impossible to ignore. And melancholy is a feeling desired by none.
But, without a doubt, none can deny that they are always suspenseful, regardless of what genre of time travel the story is attempting to convey. Was it going to be a romance? Doomed for sure. Were they going to change the past? A price has to be paid.
Hence, isekai dramas, although a deluge of them are already present, tend to scare away viewers.
Like all drama viewers, I too, have had my fair share of the same genre. The Eternal Love, my first Chinese Drama, happens to be of the exact same kind as Love Upon a Time. If you think Nakhun Patthanathada was over the top, Qu Tan Er would have given him a run for his money — the girl got transported a thousand years back and she did not even attempt to hide that she was not the same person as she was before.

Scratch all that, I love time travel dramas and novels. Unfortunately, our male lead Nakhun Patthanathada doesn’t.

★ A rational English Literature student. Nakhun, finds himself plagued by a series of ill omens, culminating in him spectacularly failing Thai History as well as inciting his English Professor to grant the class an assignment on whether they believe in time travel fiction after he trenchantly refuses to divulge from logic. Fate offers him a chance to fix both his academic issues - sending him back directly to Ayuthaya Kingdom, 400 years ago.
Forced to assume the identity of a certain “Klao”, he attempts to navigate the past with his non-existent knowledge and find out what had happened to the real Klao. All while being constantly monitored by Klao’s childhood friend, Lord Phop, who starts to suspect that the new Klao indeed might not be the one he had known.

★ The drama begins with a pilot episode that goes a tad bit overboard with emphasizing how exactly unlucky Nakhun was. It takes its sweet time, introducing characters very much earlier while slowly building up the plot around them, letting their personalities and relations simmer and settle. Particularly characters such as Jom and Kaew.
Moreover, Klao’s storyline is literally buoyed by an ensemble cast - particularly Phop and the servants Chuay, Sai, Phong and the cooking Lady, who offer insights and flashbacks into the mysterious Klao’s past. Something that Nakhun himself might not be able to provide.

Personally, I liked how they managed to instill the truth about how high the stakes were for Nakhun - he was nowhere close to the real Klao and his modern shenanigan and detective work combined with the classic historical set up that characters such as Phop lived by gave an amalgamation of two different genres in a rather comic manner - it was romance for Phop while it was a mystery for Nakhun.

★ I’ve always admired JJ’s skills after seeing him in The Next Prince. (Yeah. Considering that his plotline was pure smoke, he managed to create something out of nothing just through sheer talent, which is why I remember him.)
But, Love Upon A Time gives him the opportunity to portray a variety of emotions - Nakhun is a versatile character who changes according to the person he deals with. He is rather funny with Thee, doesn’t mess around with Pun, careful with his words when it comes to Phop and manipulates both Phop and Chuay to get his way. He is also sharp and knows to defend himself quite well.
While Nakhun is more serene, the character Klao is hinted to have had a miserable existence. Moreover, we can make out exactly how different those two were.

★ They do not kid around with time travel. The prickly part? The viewers are stuck in the past as Nakhun is. This can be either thrilling or annoying, but as I am in the former category, I did not mind it much.

★ As for Nakhun and Phop’s romance? Nakhun clearly informs viewers about what he thinks of their relationship and I share the same sentiments as his.
Phop is already in love with Klao, which Nakhun perceives quite early in the story. From Nakhun’s point of view, the romance is fun and easy to follow and is evidently the lighter aspects of the rather tumultuous past of Klao. But, the caveat? It is bound to be doomed.
So, in spite of cheering for the couple, viewers can't help but feel despair. They were bound to the rules of the time and time itself was their biggest enemy.
Then, there is Phop. Who is clearly stuck somewhere in the middle of a modern romance and historical tragedy.
Net is an expressive actor and he does not disappoint, bringing Phop’s internal dilemma to life. He shines in the final episodes, both as Phop and Tinnaphob. I have to give it to him, his future self was a lot more calm and composed as compared to Phop from the past.

★ Jom - it's surprising that he received a lot of dislike initially. To me, he was a very interesting character and I found his actions quite different from how others perceived him. I might be in the wrong, though.
Latte plays the two very different characters extremely convincing – one was a goofball foolishly in love with Pun while the other was a very serious Physician who thwarts Kaew’s attempt at romance. Just like JJ’s Nakhun and Klao. Both characters are a stark contrast to their modern counterparts.

★ Kaew/Pun -- the most consistent character in both the past and present. Kim Pongsaton was absolutely ethereal in his role. Calm, quite and collected to both Thee and Nakun's, he was a scene stealer.
His romance with Thee was both endearing and heartbreaking to watch.

★ The Friendships, particularly between Jom/Thee, Pun/Kaew and Nakun was heartwarming. Not to mention Chuay, Sai and Phong

The story is almost told by an ensemble cast without whom the plot wouldn't move forward. Even minor characters like Varna exist to prove a point rather than simply being a plot device.

★ Nakhun and his mother -- initially glimpsed in EP1, her presence as a very important person in Nakun's life doesn't change, even when he goes back to the past. There was something deeply moving about seeing the simple love between a parent and child being portrayed on-screen. (I'm in a similar situation as him when it comes to college, which might be the reason it struck home.)

★ Villains -- the mystery is rather high stakes and dawdles as a result of the 'culprit'. But, it is not until the final half of the drama that things begin to become more clear. I have to say, by the end of the drama, I felt rather satisfied with how everything wrapped up.

★ The Soundtrack was absolutely beautiful. All the different OSTs, along with their instruments were absolutely wonderful. Particularly the one by Bowkylion and JJ.

And so were the traditional outfits. I loved Kaew's in particular as it seemed to simple suit him perfectly. Also, Phop's uniform and Varna's outfits.

★ Is the drama perfect? No way - but that's the thing about time travel dramas. Considering that we had only one and a quarter episode to reestablish Nakun's life back into the future. There is also an upsetting truth when it came to this, but I understand why it had to happen that way.
But, Love Upon A Time acknowledged these inevitable changes and boldly pulled the story closed without leaving any loose threads.

★ This is definitely one of the best works by Mandeep Channel, perhaps following Khemjira, Your Sky and Duang With You. There was a story and characters to build up and they managed to arrive at a neat denoument without stepping off line.
Kudos to the cast and crew and I'll definitely be looking forward to Net, JJ, Kim and Latte's future works.

I began this as an experimental watch, but three months later, I have completed it with satisfaction. A solid 9/10 for being one of the most wholesome dramas I've seen this year.

When I almost gave up on k-drama

When I almost gave up on watching k-drama this show brought me back. It was hard to get into, but I kept trying because of the reviews and Koo Kyo Hwan (who’s acting I enjoyed in DP) and by the end of the first episode I was hooked. I loved almost every scene and every character - even unlikable ones (one exception is FL ex - he is simply deplorable)… Everything worked beautifully together. Every scene was worth watching and meaningful. I also liked that romance was subtle yet heartwarming. Personal highlights: strong female characters Hye Jin and Eun A, Mi Ran and Eun A friendship, Dong Man a cat person! 😻🐈‍⬛🤜🤛😅
I only wished we got more insight at Dong Man’s depressive episode during the shooting and it’s development and more realistic ending (all friends and smiles was almost too cheesy) but compared to the whole - these didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the show. Happy to see photos in the end - it seems to be rare nowadays. Superb storytelling, acting and direction 10/10 ❤️🌹🏆👏👏

MY LOVE FOR THIS SERIES

all I could say was that it’s amazing.. I LOVE THIS DIRECTOR SO MUCH.. I LOVE EVERYTHING, THE ACTORS, Styling, crew, EVERYTHING! ok some ppl didn’t like the repetitive themes of life and death and went back and forth with it but gorl the plot was TWISTING…..Because of the complex plot points I get why some people didn’t like it or just think it’s messy. if you’re going into this series thinking oh it will be mainly about spirits vs evil entity ur not gonna like it… that is only the side plot... EVERY plot works to SHOW the sacrifices of LOVE.. be suprised cus this Genre is ✨ROMANCE✨ our director
is a sucker for romance and seriously dangerous for our heart😞👌💕

this director is known for damaging our hearts🥲😭💕 but one statement that I will have to disagree on which is “the director is allergic to love” that isn’t true cus in my opinion He always depicts the topic of love so intensely and so purely like DAMN like it makes me think, wow is love itself not real in irl. Like Omygodddd,,, it goes over what you would and wouldn’t do for love or what you’d sacrifice LIKE WOW such a heavy and complex topic.

I JUST LOVE LOVE LOVE Li wuyi and Ji lings story cus they literally LOVED each other a million different ways like DAMN, with memories or not, apart or together they will always find each other. LIKE THAT WAS SO ROMANTIC .

A Masterclass in Female Resilience and Independent Drive

Flourished Peony is a mature, grounded story about a woman fiercely driving her own destiny, backed by a fantastic supporting cast that keeps the momentum going.

What I Liked:
A Truly Resilient Female Lead: Mu Dan is the ultimate mature, self-reliant character. She possesses an incredibly sharp business sense and a quiet, unbreakable resilience. No matter what obstacles are thrown her way, she simply refuses to give up, making her journey incredibly empowering to watch. The way she takes other women under her wings and gives them the foundation to thrive is admirable as well.

Miles Wei’s Compelling Character Arc: His storyline was one of the most engaging parts of the drama. Watching him transition from being totally against a union with Mu Dan to pining for her so deeply was compelling. He was trapped in a genuinely difficult position with a family planning his entire life for him, which gave his character a layered quality. I couldn't truly hate his character, which was so interesting to me!

The Fantastic Supporting Cast: The characters surrounding the main leads are excellent and add so much flavor to the story. In particular, Shiyi and Zhu Fu stand out, bringing some much-needed brawn, loyalty, and dynamic energy to the plot.

A Mature, Non-Intrusive Romance: I appreciated that the romance didn't overshadow the plot and that the male lead didn't constantly try to "rescue" her. He allows Mu Dan to stand entirely on her own two feet and supports her independence, which fits the mature tone of the show perfectly. I loved their midnight snack and chat times, where they could be at ease with one another.

Sheng Yi’s Heartbreaking Reality: One of the most interesting yet devastating aspects of the show was the storyline of Sheng Yi, who fell back into her old ways with her evil husband and toxic family. Even though Mu Dan tried so hard to give her everything and pave a way out for her, it realistically highlighted the cycle of abuse. Her broken spirit and inability to escape the deeply ingrained societal expectations of the era provided a dark, mature, and deeply impactful contrast to Mu Dan's success.

What Didn't Work As Well
A Bit Too Safe and Boring: While the male lead is supportive, I found him a bit boring. He doesn't seem to do a whole lot on his own and often feels a bit too motivated by money, rather than being a deeply compelling or multi-dimensional character in his own right. I did find his backstory interesting, but I liked his character the most during his 1:1 time with Mu Dan.

Final Thoughts
An excellent choice for those who love watching an intelligent woman build her own empire from the ground up. Come for Mu Dan's brilliant business journey, stay for the wonderful supporting characters who hold down the fort!

maybe a comfort watch

Bride of the Century is the type of drama I would categorise as something similar to a comfort watch. It’s one of those dramas that you’d wanna watch with a hot bowl of ramen or any delicious food at your table. The storyline is not too perplexing, the characters have decent chemistry, and yeah, everything just seems easygoing. However, the only reason why I’m rating this a seven is:


• The storyline was good, something unique. A rich, arrogant and classy girl with a poor, clumsy and friendly lookalike who takes her place as Choi Gang Ju’s fiancée after she mysteriously disappears one day. It started amazing. (And honestly, I Gyeong’s style suits actress Yang Jin Sung a lot).
• Initially, as soon as the drama begun, I couldn’t help but feel bad for Jang I Gyeong since the only thing Gang Ju did was use every chance he had to humiliate her.
• I would just be sitting down on my bed, waiting for her to give him the most hurtful reply there is but she never did. I didn’t blame her, though. She had a reputation and business to protect.
— However, when she ran away, I couldn’t have been more delighted since, at the outset, I thought she ran away because she didn’t want the marriage and wanted to live her life on her own terms.

But this notion of mine was not true since her running away was related with the whole ghost mystery thing they had going on.

I SO wanted what I thought to be true.

Gang Ju and Du Rim had better chemistry since I feel all Gang Ju needed was someone to put him in his place and teach him how he’s not who he thinks he is.

I believe even if this drama was just a typical rich body and rich girl plot, him and I Gyeong could’ve been great as well if she didn’t listen to all the crap he and Ru Mi said about her and shut their mouths.

Another reason for the 7 rating:

• Du Rim couldn’t play as I Gyeong even in the slightest. Yes, that’s somewhat the point. However, she made it so obvious to the point that anybody close to I Gyeong could guess that she wasn’t her.
• Also, even if she couldn’t play as someone else, she could at least use her brain when required which she really didn’t, I feel. They made her look very dumb.
• She was WAY too clumsy to the point that it was annoying.

But yeah, she was cool when she needed to be. And that’s what got Gang Ju hooked.

Again, it’s an amazing drama for a comforting day. Especially when you don’t wanna confuse your brain too much! 🤎

Aum & Weir's Explosive Chemistry Carries Praw to Absolute Perfection!

"Praw" is an absolute masterpiece that deserves a perfect 10/10! From the very first episode, the explosive chemistry between Aum Patcharapa and Weir Sukollawat completely stole my heart and never let go. Their on-screen pairing is pure fire — the way they bicker, tease, and slowly fall for each other is so natural, intense, and addictive that every glance, every sarcastic remark, and every tender moment sends butterflies straight to my stomach. Aum shines as the fierce yet vulnerable superstar, while Weir perfectly embodies the cool, protective cop who gradually melts her walls. Their chemistry is so strong it feels electric, making every romantic, funny, and dramatic scene utterly unforgettable. The story is engaging, the supporting cast is fantastic, and the beautiful Ayutthaya atmosphere adds even more charm. If you love addictive Thai romances with top-tier lead chemistry, this is a must-watch. Highly recommended — one of the best Thai dramas I’ve ever seen.
