Elements of Legend of Female General the novel

I watched it on a whim not knowing that it will evoke all of my emotional response to reading the novel Legend of the Female General. This drama focuses on the part where fl after being "reborn" goes along with the family wish to marry and stay in the mansion of her insignificant spouse but here they show neither what the novel did, nor what the drama with Cheng Lei did. This version is brutal in showing how former general stripped of her freedom and privileges that came with faking being a man must adapt to being disrespected, humiliated and abused by men just because she is a woman and holds no power other than her husband's heart. She doesn't go back to reclaim her fame and merits stolen by her scumbag brother, nor sits tight in inner chambers until she gets offed by men, women and various others envious of her talents or position or threatened by possibility of being discovered for the fakes they are.
Nothing really earth shattering here, just a nice variation on the same theme. FL is the leader so expect her take bedroom initiative (rather refreshing). 2fl is a transmigrator and gets really nothing, so I count that as a plus.

unexpectedly fresh & funny

Boyfriend on Demand follows Seo Mi-rae, a single 30'ish woman with a routine but somewhat tumultuous (& dateless) lifestyle, working long hours as a webtoon producer at a highly competetive online publishing company. She manages the company's most popular writer, leading to a collaboration with a tech company in basing a new virtual dating app on one of the writer's characters. Mi-rae is given a free VR set to trial the app & give a review, thus becoming addicted. On comes an exploration of how emotionally & financially exploitative an AI created "perfect date" can be.

After going wild with role playing through several of the 900 risk free programmed virtual dates - involving hilarious cameos with a couple of celebrity idols - Mi-rae then settles into a comfortable ease with one perfect VR boyfriend, with whom she just just lets herself be herself. Through conversation with him, she examines her own real past relationship with her college sweetheart, its failure, & learns how to let it go. After achieving such a significant personal closure, however, a rude awakening occurs when Mi-Rae discovers her VR boyfriend is not personalized to her & that others are dating this character in the same way in the app, much like experiencing everyone else wearing the same outfit at a party.

Her real life co-worker & rival producer, Park Gyeong-nam, is calm & muted with a strong nerd vibe . He's a tranquil sea in contrast to Mi-rae's near constant turmoil. They work in rival teams as they manage fiercely competing writers, keeping at arms length from each other. Mi-rae meanwhile trials a new VR boyfriend, customized after a lengthy personal questionnaire. Of course, what pops up is in the exact image of Gyeong-nam, but with an idealized personality based on what Mi-rae thinks she wants.

Reality & VR start to meld as Gyeong-nam eventually confesses to Mi-rae when she is already in the throes of virtual dating. Mi-rae is forced to confront her true feelings & the feelings of the flesh & blood person standing in front of her.

Seo In Guk does very well in portraying Gyeong-nam with a quiet consistency. Ji Soo (my 1st time seeing her) pulls off the role of Mi-rae well enough & I enjoyed both performances.

And near the end, the assumptions the app's creators made in what women want from an ideal boyfriend are all hilariously turned upside down. Ha Young is very funny as Mi-rae's best friend who burns through the app's characters like a professional arsonist. Gong Min Jung is perfect as an eccentric talent who never accepts the handouts she's given. Neither character apologizes for being themselves.

I was surprised at how fresh & funny this drama feels. Full of romantic tropes while making fun of them at the same time. The writing is intelligent, with the precautionary warning of never losing sight of what role AI should actually play in our lives. I enjoyed this show very much.

If you love a murder mystery with a subtle romance in the background. Watch it.

I loved how the shows main focus was the murder mystery factor and how the romance was a secondary theme.
I loved Kim Jae Yeong acting in the first few episodes where he was showing the stages of grief.Felt super raw and emotional.
Choi Jae Hui's storyline and everything that happened to him and his feelings of jealousy also really interested me and made me curious.
I loved Park Jung Jae's character.
I surprisingly enjoyed episode 12, it really made sure there was no open endings.

The only thing I slightly disliked was the couple becoming a pair initially did feel a bit pushed into the storyline.

Perth and Santa are my favorite for a reason!

This isn’t just about staying in love it’s about healing within love. Pobmek and Solar both have trauma and they are learning how to heal these trauma while in love. Pobmek is helping heal Solars inner child literally and in a healthy relationship this is such a huge thing. Having someone who is your safe space and is there to love, support and comfort you… ugh this show is amazing and there is so many layers to it!

Relationships aren’t always 50/50 there is so much give and take and ebbs and flows
This really was a perfect show for Perth and Santa it truly portrays their genuine chemistry that we already know is there but still such an amazing performance from both of them. I am so proud of them and can’t wait to see their next project. PerthSanta 🖤🤍

I truly am loved this series! My favorite scenes are the ones from their college days. This series is done so well I love the colors and setting it feels fresh. Perth and Santa are absolutely amazing, Santa playing both Solar and Sun is hard within itself but I can tell the difference and he’s doing a great job. Perths character growth I can already tell is going to be a beautiful journey. I’ve already cried basically each episode but I am just so glad they finally got a series and I can’t wait to see more from these two amazing actors 🖤🤍

Best BL of 2026

Duang With You is literally everything. I am kicking my feet, covering my eyes at the second hand embarrassment, and literally swooning at the romance scenes between our lead couple. Our second couple is just as enticing as the main lead's relationship. This is one of my favorite BL's of all time and it hasn't even finished yet!!

WORTH EVERY WAIT! MUST WATCH!

I had high expectation since i watched their pilot, i love the plot and how interesting the story line is, and especially it's BL 🥹

I love how chaotic yet thoughtful Nakhun as Klao is, and then i read the novel and fall in love to the character even more (knowing how much Klao suffer break my heart into pieces and how much the love Phop has for Klao is so warm, Jom and his reason to avoid Kaew for Kaew's sake and how much Kaew needs to endure every thought about life) everything, the investigation goes on and the story behind the time travel, so well written and interesting!

And the trailer makes it clearer, i remember how much i cried seeing Klao called his dad who was punished for something he never did, that's truly heart breaking 😭 all the emotions and story line goes deeper in the trailer even it's just a slight but it's already THAT PROMISING, the chemistry Net and JJ shows, don't forget about LatteKim too, they did great for their first series *cmiiw 🪷🩷

And when the cut was shown up Phop's back carrying Nakhun from the water, that broke the internet cause how hot that scene would be and aftee watched it in ep 1 and 2, the underwater scene deserves all the hype! JJ couldn't swim, he was afraid of that much water or swimming pool because of what happen to him in the past but he overcome everything well ans sucessfully got the shoot very beautifully, if Net, we all know how much he loves water and that's why he is known by Netriel, he is soooo attractive and handsome in the water, like water makes him glow even more 🩷

I love how chaotic yet clueless Nakhun is, it makes the story just flow naturally and no rush to make him adapt to Ayutthaya era, which is so gen Z of him 🤣 i wouls freak out too if that happen to me, wdym all of people calling me by the strange name i'd never known before??? That would be my nightmare 😭

JJ is soo great, i remember k'Den mention how much he had to fought his allergies (to dirt, canal water, weather because he's easily got sick since he has weak immune, also pollen etc) yet he is really good with the script and acting, and it shows in the series so much. He is really good with his micro expression, eyes and the body language, i love him so much! He was born to be Nakhun/Klao since i read the novel, he just as chaotic as him, as expressive as him, as lovely as him, and the fact that he has birthmark just like Nakhun, the nose scar just like Nakhun is full of destiny of them 🥕🪷

Net, i wouldn't talk much because he's been in the industry for so long, he's talented and experienced! He is sooo good on acting, i love him as Phop way too much, he is living Phop, as green as him, as gentle as him, as hot as him! Everything about him screams Phop and i believe everyone call tell. The way he would talk casually with other but got all softer when it comes to talk with Klao is just so Net to JJ, his eyes is so full of love and 🥹 (this emoji represent it)! I just wanna thank him for never giving up to LUAT and comes it come true 🖤🪷

LatteKim is so talented too, p'Den mentioned how Latte even asked him personal homework to improve his acting skill, Kim as new comer but nailed his scene, is truly admirable! They are just living JomKaew too, Latte is portraying Jom very well, and Kim is truly Kaew, in every aspect he is Kaew, how sweet, warm, caring he is!
And even chaotic Thi is just Latte and i love him for that, they make Thi is just so best friend coded just like in the novel, and how much Pun doesn't mind him is just so crush coded 🤭

K'Den and p'Den and also the crew, i wanna thank them too for their hard work, they truly make the novel into series, very seriously with the MOST NATURAL script, just so relatable! They through so much research for this series and i'm so grateful for that. They make every detail of this series so REAL AND AESTHETICALLY PLEASING!
The workshop, every practice, every discuss they did and effort for every detail in this series, we could clearly see it, kudos tp the team! 🩷🪷

Ans i wanna thank the rest of the cast too, the filming set for peioed era is one of challenging thing, no AC, and they need to film the scene outdoor and that must be so hot yet they still deliver the script very well, you guys did your best and i'm sure LUAT IS LOVED BY MANYYY PEOPLE 🩷🪷

A Grand Acting Feast Bestowed By Wang Ying Lu & Zhou Yi Ran

What a drama it was. I have felt a rollercoaster of emotions while watching it. It is one of the rare dramas that could make me emotional. The story is quite dark and emotionally quite heavy to watch, but at the end, the journey was worth it. I cannot even think of any negative points about this drama; it was that good. Zhou Yi Ran and Wang Ying Lu have knocked it out of the park honestly. They were so on par in terms of acting that I can't say who was better than who. It was almost as if both were competing to see who could give a better performance. They had amazing chemistry together. I hope they will get cast together again in other good dramas with good scripts, where they will get to show their acting brilliance. The entire cast was absolutely amazing. The direction, cinematography, ost everything was just perfect. The only regret I felt was not having any scenes of young Ye Hai Tang and Tang Yi Xun living the altered happy future where they are together. Even one scene would have been enough. Nevertheless, it was an absolutely brilliant drama.

This set the bar high

I’ve never written a review of a show before, but after watching NOT ME, I had to. There were plot twists, there were secret identities, and the chemistry between the two male leads felt like it built up in a nice organic way. There were political themes in the show, but it wasn’t done in a way that made it unrelatable or uninteresting. It made me question what is “right” and “fair”. This show will leave you on the edge of your seat as each episode progresses and it wasn’t predictable to me like many shows can be.

my fault: china (2025)

the siblings or not debate doesn’t faze me—I was raised on shadowhunters clace making out after fully believing they’re blood related. he yu looks absolutely divine when he’s beaten up and covered in blood it should be illegal. yu shuxin is becoming a non-negotiable actress to watch for me she kinda makes hits after hits. noble idiocy generally pisses me off but the psychology behind jin zhao’s actions makes perfect sense to me he’s absolved. I’m still geeking over their names being “longing from dusk till dawn” HELLO???

Flat and flawed

This drama starts off like flat soda no fizz at all . The FL acts like she’s some genius but falls for the ML after just one sappy sentimental like seriously, that’s all it took? Meanwhile, the ML's personality is so dull and boring I mean . I get the hard-to-get vibe, but at least be worth chasing! In a matriarchal setting, you expect a queen with brains and power, but nope—she struts around like a cheap drag queen with flower boys for security and a guard who can’t even save her from falling off a stool. Their “intelligence work”? Breaking into random houses with zero planning or network—total amateur hour. The plot only wakes up around episode 17, so if you can survive the snooze fest, there’s some payoff. Not my cup of tea, but maybe for those who enjoy chaos and cringe in equal measure

Good Filler While Waiting for a Drama Series to End

My rating: 7.5/10

Review

This was a solid “in-between” watch — the kind of movie you put on when you’re not ready to commit to a long, fully developed drama but still want something romantic and engaging.

It starts off pretty silly and a bit over-the-top, which made it hard to take seriously at first. However, as the story progresses, it settles into something more reflective and surprisingly thoughtful. The second half carries more emotional weight and gives the story a bit more substance than you initially expect.

That said, it still remains a very light watch overall. It doesn’t demand much from the viewer and doesn’t leave a lasting impact, but it does its job as easy, enjoyable entertainment.

For serious romance fans who are just looking for something quick while deciding what to watch next, this works well. It’s pleasant, easy to get through, and has enough charm to keep your attention.

👉 Overall:
Good as a filler
Light, easy, and mildly entertaining
Not something I would actively seek out or rewatch

⚠️ Spoilers

The museum incident was honestly a bit ridiculous. A child knocking over something that valuable would realistically have had much bigger consequences, especially for the parents. The fact that it escalated into something involving tensions between countries felt exaggerated, and tying it to something as trivial as food made it even harder to take seriously.

That said, I did appreciate the way the time loop concept was handled.

Instead of constantly trying to “fix” things like most time loop stories, the characters actually take time to enjoy the situation. They spend days just living freely, doing what they want, and making the most of the reset. That felt refreshing and helped the romance feel more natural rather than rushed.

Because they had all that extra time together, their relationship developed in a way that felt earned, even within the constraints of the story.

I also liked the twist — that the solution wasn’t about changing major events, but about paying attention to the people around her. That added a more grounded, emotional layer to the story.

Another standout was how she gradually became completely over her ex. Experiencing the same interactions repeatedly made his apologies feel more and more hollow, which was actually very realistic. That “forgive me” loses all meaning when you hear it enough times.

The one thing I really didn’t like was the separation trope at the end.

Two years apart felt completely unnecessary. It didn’t add anything meaningful and actually weakened the emotional payoff. Realistically, most relationships wouldn’t survive that kind of gap, and it just felt like forced drama for the sake of it.

I Still Believe in This Story

I came into LUAT with high expectations, and I can understand why some viewers might feel disappointed after the first episode or two.

The pacing at the beginning is a bit slow, and the tone leans more into light comedy than what some people expected from a historical BL. These points are valid and worth acknowledging.

However, I don’t think it’s fair to judge the entire series this early. There is clear potential in the storytelling, and the production quality is actually quite solid. The cinematography and setting are visually appealing, and Net’s performance brings emotional depth that keeps the story engaging.

Like many series, this one may take a few episodes to fully establish its direction and emotional weight. Dropping it too soon might mean missing the development that comes later.

Overall, instead of labeling it as a failure, I see LUAT as a series that is still building its foundation. It deserves more time before a final judgment is made.

Beautiful love story

I feel so bad for plob. I just hope klao will remember him soon.
The yearning in his eyes, he’s so scared that the man he loves will love him no more, worst. Will not even remember the love they shared.
Please remember plob🥹🥹🥺 I don’t want him to be sad.

As for netjames fans, I hope you know spreading hate isn’t good. This hate will backfire on James when he gets a partner. The partner will feel the pains JJ had to go through.

I hope you also know James can’t pull this off. He isn’t that good of an actor to do this, I watched his trailer and it was just weirdly done

Amazing

LUAT with NetJJ is such a well-done series. The overall vibe is what really stands out. Everyone from the scenery to the music and humor blends together so naturally. The cinematography creates a calm, immersive feel, while the music adds just the right emotional depth without overpowering the scenes. The comedy is woven in perfectly, keeping it light and enjoyable. On top of that, the acting is strong and the characters are engaging, making you genuinely care about what happens next. The storyline keeps you intrigued without feeling rushed. Definitely one of those shows that pulls you in and keeps you wanting more! I can’t wait for the rest of the episodes.

Potentially triggering for some

This is one of the more in-depth series I've come across that highlights the impact of predators. For the female audience in particular, it may triggering if you've ever experienced similar traumas. But I appreciate the nice dosage of revenge, even more so when it comes from random individuals who come together from different events but towards the same instigator.

The plot flow was pretty done well and they even managed to slide in a few humorous moments despite its somber environment. But with only 24 episodes (should have skipped 25) of the main story, there were definitely events that should have been delved into deeper. The fallen comrades jerked out tears but their deaths was very unsatisfactory... and potentially unnecessary. I wish they dived a little more into how the FL lived out her seven years and her relationship with the main wife. Also don't realize understand her reasoning for leaving her husband.

Some may not find the antagonist's background story very redeeming but ironically, it's quite realistic for me. Not all people who do evil deeds have sad and traumatizing backgrounds that we should feel forced to justify. His final penalty also felt too light and unsatisfactory.

There are also some plot holes but nothing that deters too much from the overall feel. It's worth a watch if you're okay with the triggering topic of SA. As for episode 25, it's an alternate ending for what if none of this happened and none of them really met. Personally I think it diminished the end feel of the series and it can be skipped completely, but some may appreciate it.
