You will hate THE 2ML
I didn’t finish this drama… and honestly? that says everything.
Not because I didn’t understand it.
Not because I was busy.
But because at some point, I realized—
this drama doesn’t even know what it wants to be.
It introduces itself like a soft, emotional, found-family story.
You expect healing, grief, growth… a child bringing two broken people together.
Instead?
You get stuck watching a loop of:
work → sunbae → awkward romance → repeat 🔁
And somewhere in the background… there’s apparently a baby too.
What’s frustrating isn’t that the drama is “bad”—
it’s that it keeps hinting at something better… and then refuses to go there.
There are moments—small ones—
where you see what it could’ve been.
A quiet scene with the ML and the child.
A glimpse of responsibility.
A hint of emotional depth.
And then immediately—
✨ back to sunbae ✨
It almost feels like two different dramas fighting each other:
One is a warm, grounded story about loss, responsibility, and building a family.
The other is a typical, dragged-out romance with zero urgency and too much focus on the wrong dynamics.
And somehow… the second one wins.
The biggest issue?
Not even the love triangle itself—
but how unbalanced everything feels.
One character is carrying emotional weight, growth, and responsibility…
while the story keeps rewarding another dynamic that doesn’t even feel central.
So instead of feeling invested, you just sit there like:
“Wait… why is THIS the focus?”
And that’s when it hits—
This isn’t frustrating because it’s terrible.
It’s frustrating because it had potential and kept wasting it.
By the time I dropped it, I already knew how it would go.
Not because it was predictable in a satisfying way…
but because it stopped surprising me at all
Final thoughts:
This could’ve been a quiet, meaningful drama.
Instead, it turns into something that feels stretched, distracted, and unsure of its own story.
Not the worst thing ever—
just… disappointing in a very avoidable way.
If you’re here for:
✔ soft family moments → you won’t get enough
✔ emotional depth → barely explored
✔ balanced storytelling → nope
But if you like slow, romance-heavy plots with a lot of repetition…
you might still sit through it.
Me?
I left halfway—and honestly,
it felt like the right ending for me 💀

A movie that refuses to comfort
I would start with a few warnings. First, this is a film for a mature audience. Second, it contains morally ambiguous, even disturbing, sexual scenes and situations that may put some viewers off. Finally, I think it’s important to look into the tags before watching it.Mei is many things at once: a mother, a daughter, a caregiver the one who holds everything together. She moves from one burden to another ; a job slipping away from her, a son living with a disability, a mother slowly fading into dementia, and an ex-husband who is falling apart. Her life feels dense, almost airless. There is no space where the weight lifts. Nothing is spared.
I thought I would be drawn into a story that invites empathy, something that gently pulls at emotion. But Dear Orange goes in a different direction. It doesn't try to soften itself, nor does it offer the viewer a safe distance from which to judge. I couldn't step into Mei’s place, nor could I measure her choices. What it presents is something raw, closed, without exit, no space for “what would I do?”
What stands out is the complete lack of relief in the story. The story doesn't breathe. We see what she endures, what she carries, what she accepts. And instead of anger, something quieter settles in: the recognition of a life that presses down. It feels almost deliberate, this refusal of comfort as if the film denies us even the smallest consolation.
Slowly, it becomes clear that this is not only a story of suffering. It is the portrait of a woman who has made room for inevitability, who has absorbed it into herself. And perhaps it is within that acceptance, troubling, difficult to face, that the film finds its true meaning.
The ending stayed with me deeply. Looking back, I feel that Mei may have experienced a kind of happiness, fragile, almost invisible without ever truly realizing it.
A harsh, disturbing film, in the same vein as The Child of Light.

I DIDN'T KNOW ONLY FRIENDS DREAM ON WOULD BE THIS GOOD!
I love how deeply layered and emotionally complex its characters are no one feels one dimensional and every decision is driven by messy human motivations that unfold with striking realism. The series is elevated by its beautifully crafted music score which perfectly underscores each emotional beat while the thoughtful use of color and precise timing in its scenes create an atmosphere that feels both intimate and intense. On top of that, the actors deliver incredibly nuanced performances, bringing raw vulnerability and chemistry that make every interaction feel authentic. Was this review helpful to you?
I liked the story very much Happy for FL
I really liked the characters, except for Choi Soo Jin, who I found annoying. I didn't understand what Han Gyul saw in her, but she grew on me towards the end because I understood her desire to come first without anyone's help. I also loved the rekindling of friendship with the male lead and Soo Jin's brother; it was a typical bro friendship The side story with Hye Syuk was random, though, as they're supporting characters. Also the little Chihuahua the main lead took care of was adorable!!!!!!Was this review helpful to you?
kind of a mess
nice costumes , nice aesthetics, nice scenery but at what cost when i can't even enjoy any of it or get myself to care??the pacing is horrible and the characters feel soooo undercooked and don’t even get me started on the chemistry. I’m trying SO hard to see it, I really am, but right now it’s giving coworkers reading lines, not soulmates across time. There’s no spark, no tension, not even that awkward “wait….isn't that person kinda 😏"
And the dialogue??? I physically cringed at some parts I’m not even gonna lie. It’s trying so hard to be funny but its giving fifth grade type of comedy why are they making them do this!! trust your actors and give them real characters with depth instead downplaying everything for shits and giggles
overall it was a very underwhelming episode given the hype around it

Good for historical genre
The starting is always good in every chinese drama and in midway everything goes downhill, I really liked the comedy, romance and everything in start I don't watch historical and don't like but still watch this because chinese have trandional or fantasy more and the first half first 1-15 eps were good later I started for FML and continue because of ml , at one point I felt FML is too dumb and more villian and main villian or how ml is shown villian , I thought soon they will patchup and get back but no the war , schemes, etc story focus is only historical the 2nd half it isn't romance I was disappointed by less romance in this ? this reminded me to korean mansha half of the manwha have same FML story which I don't like because they drag the misunderstanding too long ?and FML will keep hating on ml ,when he did nothing to her , comedy is also isn't there in 2nd halfWas this review helpful to you?
immediate drop
do not even bother watching unless you want to waste your time. i came expecting a legendary historical BL story full of drama and feelings and instead i got a load of cringe worthy comedy with a side of low level tier actingHonestly i wish the company invested more in better screen writers and more skilled directors and editors instead of expecting the audience to watch anything and pay for just any badly produced show
i hope they do better next time especially for lattekim as they deserve better than this mess

A very good Cdrama you will ever watch
You will never find a storyline like this. It's a very worth to watch! The entire cast are truly amazing. If you want to watch a humor and action, I really recommend you this drama. The plot twist is also good. Actually, I want to see why Qi An's father did all of the problems. Can't bear seeing Qi An not remembered by his family🥲Well, I hope the Princess and Qi An will be together even though Qi An only have a noue title. Can't wait to see the season 2. Hopefully there will be 40 episodes too!Was this review helpful to you?

Male lead sucks
This might seem petty but I dropped it because of how Xie Zheng handled their first separation. I was giggling and screaming in episode 17 because finally there's a kissing scene after all that disturbed-almost-kissing scenes that could have been better but Xie zheng kissed her because he was mad... ಠ_ಠ all of the butterflies i was having flew away (there's a multiple occasion where the first kiss could have been better but they chose this), I thought he was gonna confess or at least give some word of affirmation after that kiss... But he was mad?! ಠಗಠ and then he left? Was this review helpful to you?
Unnecessarily long miscommunication and misunderstanding with no proper resolution
Their relationship is what I really like, the unrealistic of unconditional and sacrificial love (yes i am hopeless romantic when it comes to fiction) however, i think the drama is unnecessarily long. It's just unlimited miscommunication and misunderstanding — i mean, it does make sense that they have miscom and misun bcs that's literally where their relationship started but that doesn't have to be THAT long. For me, the plot became boring but I got hooked in the plot twist in the later episodes (blew my mind tbh). Because of how bored I am, it was my first time watching with 2x speed. I love the side couple, princess tianji and Yan xiao, istg i love the angst between them I have to find a drama similar to their story cause i was eating that drama they're having, no screentime of theirs is wasted. The writing felt lackluster to me: Jbz clearly showed he trusted Ming Yi, but she never grasped that fact. It would have been nicer if there was a realization or monologue instead of just resolving it with "I’m tired of lying". I understand Ming Yi’s lack of trust, but the way it was handled at the end was disappointing. Was this review helpful to you?
Being a victim doesn’t excuse you from becoming a perpetrator
Following (2024) throws you straight into a whirlwind of suspense from the very start. Even just reading the synopsis had me questioning where it was all going, and once it began, it didn’t hold back. A lot happens quickly, and the tension keeps building in a way that makes you feel like you’re constantly trying to catch up, in a good but slightly overwhelming way. What really stood out to me is how the story makes you want to understand both the male and female leads. You find yourself justifying their actions, seeing things from their perspective, and almost excusing certain choices. But at the end of the day, wrongdoing is still wrongdoing, no matter how you frame it. That internal conflict is what makes the whole experience more thought-provoking than it initially seems.
I won’t spoil anything, but I was basically holding my breath for most of the movie, while my braincells were working overtime trying to keep up. I also love the dual meaning behind the title Following, whether it’s stalking someone or “following” in the social media sense. That layered message adds an extra punch to an already intense watch. Definitely recommended if you enjoy suspense that messes with both your nerves and your perspective.

Decent story, cringy side characters
The story was ok ok, but the lead characters were kinda cute. The 7 episodes were still ok but the 8th was kinda disappointing. There was like 1000 ways to have the last episode of the series, but the writers chose the worst way. I personally liked the starting and also the main characters and the actors way of delivering. Without the unecessary side characters like the hsopital doctors, interns which actually was too cringe, the series could have been better. Would like to see the lead actors in a better well written drama for sure. Was this review helpful to you?
Love is illusion
Simple storyline and it engage with our society. We just need to be kind and the good things happen. Each character has their own strength and weakness and it made sense as humanYH is such happy go lucky person but held traumatic events and he able to deal with it after his see GR and MJ love story.
GR unexpressive person but he found he attracted to MJ loneliness. GR is most fragile character but he honest and its the strong traits he has.
MJ is strong person and she actually able to survive in the hectic society as she said it easy deal with rain compared to people. That why she give up
I think it not wrong to give up as long as you live you life at your own pace. Overall this movies is good and I made me want to feel this kind of love.
