Slow Beginning, Interesting Story, But….

I haven’t seen the original, so this review is just based on the BL series.

I’ll start with the good parts, the story is interesting for sure, the first episode though, a little bit slow, but it makes sense, and viewers will probably be able to decide how to actually feel about the story after a few more episodes.

Plot is also a little bit cliche, but it’s a time-travel Lakorn BL and that should be expected. It doesn’t reduce the story’s quality though, I’m still excited to see what the next episodes would hold.

Now to, what I’ll call an unpopular opinion perhaps, I found the MC’s acting grating and really hard to watch in a way. I’m not sure if it’s just the first character he played (I won’t go into this to avoid spoilers) but the acting quality was poor.

Overall, so far, so good I’d say, I hope the acting improves (as he takes on a different character) in subsequent episodes. As we watch too, we’ll get to see how good the story would get.

For now, I’d still recommend it to anyone who’s contemplating watching. But don’t expect too much in this first episode.

I started watching this drama during the time when rumors about the two main leads dating were spreading widely, so this drama immediately became one of the series I was most looking forward to watching. Because of the attention surrounding Yamapi and Maki-chan at that time, I was curious to see their chemistry on screen and how their relationship would develop throughout the story.

The revenge theme, clever tricks, and moral questions about justice made the drama different from typical Japanese dramas.

Yamapi gave a memorable performance as Kurosaki. His quiet, serious, and lonely personality fit the character very well. He was able to show the pain and emotional burden behind Kurosaki's cold attitude. Maki-chan also gave a charming performance as Tsurara, bringing warmth and innocence that created a nice contrast with Kurosaki's darker world.

The chemistry between the two main leads was one of the biggest reasons I enjoyed the drama. Their relationship was not a typical romance where everything happens quickly. Instead, it developed slowly through small conversations, misunderstandings, and moments where they tried to understand each other. I actually wished the drama explored their feelings more because their dynamic was interesting and had a lot of potential.

This drama explores loneliness, trust, revenge, and whether someone who chooses the wrong path can still find redemption. Some parts of the story may feel repetitive because of the episodic fraud cases, but the characters and emotional moments kept me interested.

Don't skip this drama

I watched this drama around the time Atsuko Maeda was preparing for her graduation in August 2012, so it became a memorable viewing experience for me. From the very first episode, this drama managed to touch my heart, and I honestly found myself crying almost every episode.

Each story about the people who passed away and the families they left behind was deeply moving. The drama beautifully shows that every person has their own story, regrets, and unfinished feelings. It is not just a story about death, but also about love, forgiveness, family, and appreciating the precious moments we have with the people around us.

What makes this drama special is how it handles emotional themes in a warm and human way. Every episode has its own story and meaning, and many of the cases left a strong impression on me. The sadness never felt forced because the drama focuses on the memories and relationships behind each person rather than only the tragedy itself.

The performances were one of the biggest strengths of this series. ML showing the growth of a man who slowly learns about family and the importance of human connections. FL acting was also excellent, and I really enjoyed the chemistry between the two main leads. I noticed that this was their reunion after five years since Proposal Daisakusen, which gave the drama an extra nostalgic feeling. Their interactions felt natural, and their emotional scenes together were one of the highlights.

The supporting cast also delivered strong performances. Every character had their own struggles and emotions, making the story feel more realistic. The family relationships, especially the bond between the siblings, were beautifully portrayed and added even more depth to the drama.

The pacing is slower compared to many modern dramas, but I think that actually helps the emotional moments feel more meaningful. This is not a drama that depends on big twists or intense action—it succeeds because of its sincere storytelling and the way it makes viewers reflect on life.

I like the prequel of this movie, but this one didn't meet the expectation: It isn't as good as its predecessor. It still had a fresh story, since it still tried to connect between a real-life secret agent and its so-called webtoon. All the animations were great, might be the highlight of this show. The comedy quality however is lowered a bit, some of it were forcefully inserted. For an action-focused movie, the amount of the action scenes was also low.

At the end, it's still a refreshing show for someone seeking the follow up of the first movie. But beware, don't put too much expectations on it.

I can’t even lie
I’m very impressed with every one and everything going on in this series
They did their research and it’s definitely giving budget !
I also love the noticeable improvement of the actors
It’s the first time I’ve watched a series and rewatched it again while looking forward to the next episode
I understand that it might not be everyone’s cup of tea
But it’s undeniably so good if you’re into omegaverse..
I’m always looking forward to the next episode with extreme levels of excitement

Instead of focusing only on sweet and predictable love stories, it brings a unique and sometimes ridiculous concept that makes the drama stand out.

The situations are often exaggerated and unusual, but that's exactly what makes it entertaining. The relationship between main leads creates many funny moments because their personalities are completely opposite. Junko is an independent woman who dreams of working overseas, while Takane is a serious monk with a very straightforward and sometimes extreme way of expressing his feelings. Their interactions are awkward, funny, and surprisingly enjoyable to watch.

What I liked about this drama is that it doesn't try to be a perfect romance. It embraces its weirdness and turns it into the main attraction. Some scenes made me laugh because they were so unexpected, and the drama has a different atmosphere compared to more traditional romantic stories.

Of course, the story may not work for everyone. Takane's personality and some of his actions can feel too much, and the romance might seem unrealistic at times. However, if you accept the drama as a fun and comedic love story rather than a serious romance, it becomes much more enjoyable.

underrated

I knew that rating for this drama and popularity were not as high as some other romantic comedies. However, for me, the biggest appeal of this drama was not only the story itself, but the reunion of two male leads, Kamenashi Kazuya and Yamashita Tomohisa, after 12 years since their legendary collaboration in Nobuta wo Produce.

Seeing them together again on screen was a nostalgic experience. Their chemistry and friendship were still very enjoyable to watch, and it felt like a special gift for fans who had been waiting for this reunion. Even though they played completely different characters this time, their natural interaction and comedic timing reminded me why their previous partnership was so memorable.

The romance between the main leads was also charming. ML is a sincere and determined man who believes in destiny, while Yamashita's mysterious character adds a unique comedic element to the story. Their dynamic creates many funny and heartwarming moments, making the drama feel light and entertaining.

That being said, I understand why some viewers might not connect with this drama. The concept of fate and destiny can feel a little unrealistic, and some parts of the story are quite predictable. The pacing is also not always consistent, and the romance may feel too simple compared to other popular romantic dramas.

However, I think this drama should be appreciated for what it tries to be: a sweet, relaxing, and nostalgic romantic comedy. The reunion of Kamenashi Kazuya and Yamashita Tomohisa after 12 years is already a major highlight, and their chemistry alone makes the drama worth watching for fans of Japanese dramas.

Overall, while the drama may not be perfect and its rating may be lower compared to other works, I personally enjoyed the warmth, humor, and nostalgia it provided. Sometimes a drama's value is not only measured by its plot, but also by the memories and emotions it brings back.

Dissapointed

I am probably in the minority, but I just don't like this show. I couldn't wait for this show to release on Netflix. I loved So Ji-sub in Mercy for None and Oh, My Venus (started the Masters Sun but dropped it)

What I liked about the show- the acting and fight scenes.

What I didn't like- there was too much comedic relief for my taste. I think Yoon Kyung-ho is a phenomenal actor and would have preferred if his character was less silly and more serious. I was still interested after the first two episodes, but I had doubts. The story line was very good but there are way too many flashbacks. Yes, we want to know Agent Kim's past but they way it is integrated into the show just frustrated me.

After watching the first two seasons, I had high expectations for 3rd Season. This season feels different because the characters are no longer young doctors who are still trying to find their place. They have grown into experienced medical professionals, but they now face new challenges as mentors, leaders, and adults with their own personal struggles.

One of the strongest parts of this season is seeing how much the characters have developed. Watching Aizawa, Shiraishi, Hiyama, Fujikawa, and Saejima after so many years feels like meeting old friends again. Their bond is still the heart of the series, and their teamwork shows how much they have grown together. The friendship, trust, and respect between them remain some of the most emotional aspects of the drama.

The medical cases continue to be the highlight of Code Blue. Every episode brings a unique story with its own meaning, showing not only the challenges of saving lives but also the emotions of patients and their families. The drama doesn't just focus on medical procedures—it explores human relationships, regrets, hope, and the preciousness of life. Many episodes left a deep impression because they carried messages that felt realistic and meaningful.

The acting is once again outstanding. Yamashita Tomohisa, Aragaki Yui, Toda Erika, Asari Yosuke, and Higa Manami deliver performances that feel natural and mature. Their characters have become more complex, as they are no longer only struggling as doctors but also dealing with responsibilities, choices, and their roles as leaders for the next generation.

However, compared to the first and second seasons, I felt Season 3 lacked some of the emotional freshness that made the previous seasons so memorable. The introduction of younger doctors was interesting, but sometimes it took attention away from the original characters that viewers had already grown attached to. I also wished some relationships and personal stories had been explored more deeply.

Even with those small weaknesses, this drama is still a highly recommended drama, especially if you have watched the previous seasons. The emotional connection becomes much stronger because you understand the journey and growth of each character from the beginning. Watching this series without knowing their past might not give the same impact, so I highly recommend watching Season 1 and Season 2 first.

Overall, Code Blue remains one of the best medical dramas I have ever watched. With its realistic storytelling, powerful performances, unforgettable characters, and meaningful episodes, this series stands out among Japanese medical dramas. Season 3 may not surpass the earlier seasons for me, but it successfully continues the journey of these beloved characters and delivers another emotional experience.

This C Drama Rocks !!

I really Love Hou Ming Hao and Ami alot ...This C drama is very beautiful. Im watching this C drama and I'm really enjoying it . Love the plot very much . The green Hanfu 💚 which Ami wore ..is so beautiful 😍 and then after marriage when she wore red she really looked adorable ..I seriously love her acting , lots of love for her , she is so young talented indeed she has a bright future ahead .Hou Ming Hao is seriously so amazing..both them really look so adorable with each other. Haters will bring up the controversy related to age gap but I firmly believe that ofcourse they are jealous . I really support the ML and FL ..really love this c drama .
