A MUST WATCH--THE STANDARD
Whether you're new to Thai GL, not like the Genre of rom-coms, or an go GL watcher, this series is a MUST watch. I swear on my life. This Thai GL rewired my expectations of Thai GLS to whole new level. I blabber a lot, but this is something I stand on. And I don't play when it comes to Thai GLS.First off, the plot. I usually do like drama in what I watch, but I loved the storyline a lot. I loved the dynamic between the two characters, and there are rarely any conflict. I highly recommend to those who love rom-coms, office setting typa stuff. But like the pacing felt a bit off honestly, but so many factors enhance the show, so I could care less.
Another thing--the cast. I feel like this could have never been pulled off without the right actors, I am very VERY Thankful for the people who casted THE Kao and THE Janeyeh. I have watched their previous projects prior and they are amazing. They have lots experience in acting, so it is obvious how good the show turns out. The Chemistry is also there, I can feel it through the screen. I also feel like they are really similar to their characters in real life, which makes the acting feel natural. ITS THE EYES GUYSSS, the eyes be doing their job.
The music in this show is absolutely insane. The instrumental music in the background just fits right for every moment. It just heightens the moment and makes it feel nostalgic. The music itself is what made this series deserve a 10. Most of em are in my Spotify playlist đ
I hate how this is so rewatchable because I can't stop coming back to this show. THANK YOU VELCURVE STUDIO I LOVE YOU

Cat for Sunscreen
They need to be stopped because I did not watch six minutes for sunscreen lolSuper cute and super weird, and probably super unnecessary, unless Tiger, Lynx and the Spanish speaking cat convinced you to buy Nivea sunscreen (they did not convince me by the way - I'm sticking to my usual one).
But I'll watch anything just to watch First and Khao so yes, I'm sold (on the idea, not the sunscreen)
Yay advertisements!

Korean Women
We had this book for our Korean Book Club, but I decided to watch the movie instead. Now I think the book would have been more interesting because, in the book, the writer explains the emotions of the characters, while in the movie we have to pick up on the emotions ourselves during long silent scenes. This is a movie about womenâwomen of different generations and views on lifeâgiving us a chance to reflect on how Korean women lived 60 years ago, 30 years ago, and today, each period represented by one of the main characters. Thinking about that, it appears that each of them represents a type of outcast from a traditional society where having a big healthy family is the norm.
The movie mostly focuses on a mother, and we often just watch her as she apparently stoically bears all the issues. Everything else in the movie is seen through her eyes. Another main character is an elderly woman without a family, totally dependent on care in a nursing home. And also, not to forget, there is a daughter who mostly stays in the background. The movie is called "Concerning My Daughter", but it is 105 minutes long, and the daughter has no more than 10 minutes of screen time.
So, itâs not really about the daughterâit is about human connection. We are all afraid of being left alone and helpless. The movie shows that certain human connections are stronger than blood relationships. I strongly agree with that, but still, real marriages and children are the foundation of our society and the exceptions should only enforce the norm.

Logical Revenge drama i could accept wholehearltly.
I watched this on the day this drama was released and personally preferred this than their first collaboration. If you are Happy Ending enjoyer, i need to tell you this is not happy ending drama or close your eye and find another things to do.For the summary, ML is a news anchor and struggling actor, an orphan who lives with his mildly autistic sister. With a terminal illness and little time left, he wants to leave his sister money to survive, so he takes on the FL's job to take revenge of her ex husband. Sharing the plight of a life on the verge of collapse and the lack of family love, and fighting side-by-side, the two quickly developed some positive interactions and a cycle of connection. FL was also a volunteer at the orphanage where the ML and his sister worked.
I have to say, ML's character is really well-developed and his depth of characterization was meticulously written by scriptwriter. Wu Tianhao's character types are becoming increasingly diverse; wearing a white shirt, he is pure, broken, yet resilient despite of his condition. Lin Zixuan proofs her character was not just mere housewife who get revenge for her ex-husband, her character reminds me of the housewife of Boku no Yabai Tsuma. Their chemistry is still strong as the collaboration with different approach,
ML's only thought before was to die quickly to leave some money for his sister, needing cigarettes as painkillers to maintain appearances. But after reuniting with FL, a life force and vague hope he hadn't even realized he possessed were rekindled. When the FL offered him a piece of candy as a gesture of respect, he never lit a cigarette again
The plot even meticulously included the condition of ML lungs in the medical report at the end. . Unlike 90% of short dramas, it doesn't arrange for the ML to be recognized by a wealthy family, with money and medical resources readily available, leading to a happy reversal of fate (the usual formula i really loathe with my soul in duanju).
Maybe because people hate Sad Ending, they rate this lower than previous drama (Yes that drama is phenomenal but i preferred this plot even the videography weren't good as their first collaboration) Short dramas should allow for more real human existence: besides dreams replacing everything with color, there should also be the bitterness of waking up, making people cherish the warmth around them more.
Recommended to watch if you are not mind of not Happy ending drama.

Finally, a Japanese BL that skips the âdo I like boysâ crisis
If youâre a sucker for the âGolden Retriever x Black Catâ dynamic or the classic âPopular Guy x Nerdy Boyâ trope, Contrast is going to hit some of the right notes. It takes those clichĂŠs yet strips away the tired âarrogant jockâ or âbullyâ archetypes, replacing them with a much more grounded, lonely connection between two high schoolersâStory
âHonestly, Iâm tired of the 5 episode self-discovery phase in BL where characters spend half the show wondering if they like guys. Contrast skips the filler and gives us a lead in Akira who is a relatable and believable closeted gay character. This allows the narrative to focus on his guarded nature and his genuine chemistry with Kanata, rather than just hitting the usual Japanese BL thing where characters only realized they are gay or queer after 10 episodes once they accept their love for each other
âHowever, the final two episodes felt a bit weak and rushed. I was craving more tension and those âcheesyâ cinematic lines like if youâre going to give me a clichĂŠ, I want it to be a great one. The series lacked that final punch of high-stakes romantic tension I usually look for. Also, as a side note on the subplot with Akiraâs brotherâs friend (Inoue Sora), that relationship felt pretty disturbing. Whether it was meant to be 18+ or just a boundary-crossing tutor relationship, it added a dark, uncomfortable layer to the show
âActing
âTo be blunt, the acting needs some work, particularly with the main leads during the heavy emotional scenes. While they are charming and have some chemistry, they arenât always convincing. The acting is decent though, but they havenât reached the level of acting performance seen in my personal Top 15 Japanese BLs, to be honest
âOverall
âIâm giving this a âbias 8 starsâ because it is my favorite trope and Kanata is a cutie, lol. It might not enter my Top 15 Japanese BLs due to the acting hurdles and the slightly rushed ending, but for fans of atmospheric, trope-heavy high school dramas, itâs a must-watch and itâs easily the best Japanese BL of 2026 (so far), especially after the bland Countdown To Yes and also Cosmetic Playlover S2 like this season hasnât been hitting for me, and I couldnât take the unserious comedy of Iâm Kishi Knight: Your Private Tutor, so Contrast definitely stands out at this point

I Love it!!! Sad and beautiful
I find the story behind it really sad and also so beautiful. Where the mother told her child that she was dead, I got goosebumps and had to start crying. The story of the characters of Park Bogum confused me somehow. But now I understand his story, and I think it's the best story. The casting was also soooo good. Gong Yoo, Park bogum and Bad Suzy Just woww!! Acting was also soooo soooo good. Park bogum is a very great actor!!!

I really enjoyed this series. It had a great mix of action and friendship, which is exactly the kind of combination I like.
It kept me engaged and gave me both intensity and strong character bonds â a really satisfying watch for me.

For some reason it it reminds me for indie film rather than duanju.
I watched this drama thanks to Tiktok advertisement and not really regret my choice. The topic is about older woman young man romance and this is one of the best one in duanju. I afraid this is most notable Wu Tian Hao and Lin Zixuan works. The cast team is doing gods works; excellent; the FL truly embodied a 29-year-old career woman, and ML resembled a 19-year-old young rich heir. I don't really buy the romance in this drama but the ambiguity wins me but i don't really want them to be together, This is the reason i give this drama 7 ratings. The director team is the best; the production quality is even better than some long dramas. The switching between long and short shots, and the subtle camera movements during scene transitions, are all incredibly skillful. I am not pro at videography but this drama has some indie film feels rather than usual duanju.
The plot was relatable, a rare find in short dramas with normal price levels and a realistic legal system. ML was a cunning, slightly naive heir to a wealthy family, while FL was a cunning, powerful female lawyer. Their age and social status created many problems, which they resolved, but throughout the series, they remained true to their hearts and steadfastly chose each other. It was a mutually supportive relationship between an older woman and a younger man.
Recommended if you like the logical plot about older woman and young man.

I was actually ready to watch the series before the movie, until I realized that theyâre connected.
I really liked this film. It has the kind of story and intensity that I enjoy, and it kept me engaged the whole time.
This is definitely the type of movie/series I tend to like.

To My Beloved Thief: A Prince, A Thief, and a Love That Defies It All
At first, I was a bit reluctant to start this drama. But later, I decided to give it a shotâand that turned out to be a really good decision. The story revolves around a prince and an ordinary girl who becomes a thief because of her circumstances. Itâs not just a simple love story; it has depth, emotions, and strong character arcs.
Eun Jo is definitely not your typical K-drama female lead who lets things happen to her. Sheâs strong, independent, and deeply cares for the people around her. Thatâs what made me like her even more.
And Yi Yeol⌠heâs the kind of character who truly raises standards. A man who is willing to leave the throne for the woman he lovesâdo I really need to say anything more? đ¤
Their story felt emotional, meaningful, and worth watching.
Overall, Iâm really glad I gave this drama a chance. đ

A beautiful and meaningful story.
Another drama that took me quite a while to finishânot because I didnât like it, but because I wanted to savor every moment.South Wind Knows beautifully portrays a deep sense of commitment in many forms: commitment to work, passion, friendship, love, and life itself.
It truly knows how to leave a mark on both the heart and mind by presenting the different contexts and realities individuals go through. It captures the pain of standing at a crossroads and the quiet strength needed to accept whatever outcome comes. Itâs a powerful reminder of how unpredictable life can be.
Although some storylines felt a bit disconnected at times, they still held meaning. Just like in real life, we encounter different challenges and find ourselves in unexpected situations at the most unpredictable moments. And thatâs what made it feel so real.
Iâm genuinely glad I watched this. I enjoyed it deeply. I cried with the characters. My heart broke when theirs did. It felt like I was right there with themâand to me, thatâs what truly matters. I related.
Beautiful friendships â
Beautiful love â
A touching story of letting go â
A beautiful narrative of copingâ
A satisfying conclusion to a love story â
Beautiful OSTs â
Convincing and heartfelt acting â
And must I add, good-looking actors and actressesââ
While the main love story wrapped up beautifully, some parts were left open-ended. But thatâs okayâbecause thatâs reality.

Our Universe: Started with Hope, Ended in Disappointment
I started watching Our Universe because of Wooju, and honestly, the drama had a really good start. It showed a range of emotions and felt promising in the beginning, which kept me going. But as the story progressed, it slowly started losing my interest. The focus shifted more towards the female lead and the second male lead, and they were given a lot of screen time together. I understand how the story was supposed to end, but it still felt a bit unbalanced.
What disappointed me the most was Woojuâs character. I started this drama for him, but his story barely progressed as the episodes went on. It felt like his character was sidelined, which made it harder for me to stay invested.
I had pretty high expectations going into this drama, especially after the strong start, but it didnât quite live up to them for me.
Maybe it works for others, but for me, it turned out to be a bit disappointing.

just a cute little story...
While Korea is flooding us with short mini-series, that's one of the few shorts from Japan. While nothing earthstattering, it was done quite well. Both actors seem a bit rough around the edges but they really tried hard. As it's often the case with JBLs, there is not a real kiss in it, which is a shame. The subtitles are also nothing to write home, were the timing was off or some sentences are not translated completely, but everyone should get the gist of what is said. The only fault is that phone-screens were not translated at all.
With a playtime of roughly 39 minutes it was entertaining and I think we should support such independent small productions. You can watch this series on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rDr99DNMhw&list=PLmz1FNoG1zYHVHiX7zTnjlixJi5YmDE4R&index=4

Pure cinema
Listen, guysâSeason 2 doesnât just deserve a watch... itâs mandatory viewing. From the new character intros to the way they weave in real-life stories seamlessly, this is hands down the best season yet. Youâll honestly want to binge the whole thing in one sitting. Also, the emotional moments? They hit hard. Was this review helpful to you?
Hurt people, hurt people and life's not fair
This drama was a very random watch for me, and i can say im completely satisfied.I had come across the title several times while scrolling on netflix but i just wasnt interested till a few days ago.
The casting director deserves as many pats on the back as possible. Every character was brilliantly casted.
The actors, i have no words but wow!!!!
I like that the drama was honest with us grom the very beginning, we knew what we were getting into but that still didnt protect us from the actual event.
I appreciate how, though we knew he wouldnt make it, the drama took us on a journey of hope because thats what life is about.
The chemistry between the 2 leads was sizzling. Would i ever be in such a relationship (definitely not) but they truly were meant for each other. No one understood them like them.
I would definitely be recommending this.
