When a masterpiece captivates its audience, a gem is created!
After watching such an incredible historical period drama, I'd like to share my thoughts on 'UNVEIL: JADEWIND'.The script was extremely compelling. I never get a chance to click the 'fast forward' button throughout the series. Each episode features a suspenseful tune mixed with some emotional plots. Though detective-historical CDramas have become popular in recent years, this story stood out the most to me. Throughout the series, each case established a strong morality while also serving some emotions, making 'UNVEIL: JADEWIND' a masterpiece.
After watching the entire series, I believe the casting is perfect. Bai Lu (The FL) nails every character she plays, including 'Li Pei Yi' in 'UNVEIL: JADEWIND.' Personally, for the first time, I saw her as an investigating officer, and her bold yet cold demeanor captivated me. Now, as for our ML (Wang Xing Yue), after watching his various historical dramas with exceptional swordplay and martial arts, this is the first time I've really enjoyed his completely new avatar. His character is solely based on his intelligence and astronomical knowledge. Both of the leads delivered excellent performances. They did their best in every shot. Within such a mysterious and thrilling storyline, I particularly enjoyed the moments when they became touchy with each other. Finally, all of the supporting characters performed well. Zhao Qing and Bai Lu's chemistry was also quite supportive.
"UNVEIL: JADEWIND," in my opinion, won my heart. The series is a masterpiece because of its compelling plot and superb cast. I am incredibly grateful to the production team for providing us with such a treasure!

Missed Potential
I’m a few years late watching this one, but I finally gave it a shot—and honestly, it just didn’t land for me.The acting was decent, nothing terrible, but the storyline was confusing and hard to follow at times. The pacing felt off, and a lot of plot developments didn’t feel earned. Even for a c-drama, the level of luck the female lead had was unrealistic. It reached a point where it was hard to stay invested because everything seemed to conveniently work out for her.
The maid/assistant character was especially frustrating. From the way she was written to her voice and overall personality, everything about her grated on my nerves. She didn’t add much depth and felt more irritating than supportive.
What really didn’t make sense was the character shift. She originally tried to kill her uncle, the emperor, in front of everyone—but suddenly in her new life she’s calm, strategic, and patient? That drastic transformation needed better development. If she had started that way, maybe the outcome would have been more believable.
I also couldn’t understand why so many people were obsessively fixated on hating her. The whole Ning family marriage arrangement storyline felt forced. His family was rude and unreasonable, yet somehow she was the one blamed. It just didn’t add up.
And can we talk about how long it takes c-dramas to let two characters admit they like each other? The relationship dragged on way longer than necessary.
Visually, it was average. The sets were fine, but nothing stood out. Even the wardrobe lacked that wow factor you expect from historical dramas.
Overall, it just felt underwhelming.

This drama is getting a lot of hate that it does not deserve. After 37 episodesFirstly characters, Cai Zhao actually just might be one of my favorite characters ever. Free-spirited, smart, and lovable girl who doesn't have a care in the world. I have begged the gods for a type of FL like this and I finally got one. Next, lets just talk about the cast, This is my first time watching Bao Shang'en and she did so so well as Cai Zhao like I said. I feel like she was perfectly casted for this role. I also LOVE zhou yiran in MQY's role he looks SO good here. This is my first time watching Bao Shang'en and she did so so well. I kept seeing people say how they had no chemistry, but I honestly disagree especially after watching BTS, they are so cute together but I do see how this is a CP some ppl wouldn't invest in.
Okay, the music for this drama is so good, especially “清风醉(the episode ending music)” it makes me wanna go outside and enjoy life. The cutscenes in the middle with Cai Pingshu and her friends fits this so well and idk listening to this song just makes me happy. Now story, so personally the story is so so good, but I have to agree with some of the comments that the script writers kind of butchered parts of it, however its nothing thats too bad. I think it definitely could have been written a little better. Also the editing, it got a little better by the end but genuinely this drama needs new editors, I do agree with this but it wasn't bad to the point where I couldn't understand what was happening.
Other than that I 100% recommend this drama, one of my fav watches of 2026 so far!

Sweet and Heartwarming
A friend recommended that I watch this first since it was already done. I saw that it was the actor Chen Xing Xu from Goodbye My Princess. I’ve watched his other dramas before and this seemed a little different, so I was like okay I’ll give it a try. Not gonna lie, it was hard to get through it in the beginning because they were doing murder mystery so it was sort of slow for me. Things started getting interesting when the ML secretly started renting the FL’s apartment. He was doing this for some inspiration for a competition. The ML plays a character in the murder mystery game. That’s where they first met. She becomes enamored with him that she keeps going back to play just to see him. Little did she know that he’s the one renting her place and he’s the CEO of the company Dynamism. It was one of the architecture companies she admired since she wanted to be an architect herself. She ended up getting hired in his company. It’s really funny how she ended up going back to her apartment and that’s where the roommate trope comes in. The leads were pretty cute. I love their chemistry so much. Hot and sizzling. I don’t know how many times they have kissed here. No dead fish kisses. I repeat. NO DEAD FISH KISSES. Lu Yuxiao sure knows how to play her roles. She’s so cute. I love her in My Journey to You and Love in the Clouds. She always has amazing chemistry with every male lead she works with. I love how it ended, too. No weddings. No kids. Just the two of them hugging each other up on the building rooftop. One of the best dramas ever. Sweet and heartwarming.Was this review helpful to you?
Complex story and Characters - actors and visuals fall short
Overall the plot of this show was very enjoyable, the characters are symbols to a chinese myth of the destructive monkey (Fan Xiao) and 'Bhudda' (Youlang) this added depth is what really made this show a 10/10 plot.The characters can be more complex and I have noticed people criticize Fan Xiao a lot. I think people fail to understand his character. Fan Xiao is someone who has lived life never trying to do ‘good’ so when he meets Youlang he is very intrigued. This later turns into wanting to be with Youlang but in order to do so he manipulates the people. He admits to his friends he is playing games but in later episodes it is pretty evident that there are almost two different streams of thought going through his head. One that admits that he is loving youlang and against hurting him and one that is reflective of his previous attitude on treating others. He does not know how to love because he has never been loved before after his mother passed away therefore his brain is tainted and filled only with revenge. Although he is manipulative and should not get away with it, people seem to misunderstand his starting point. However, Youlang is just as crazy in the way that he understands Fan Xiao and seems to be okay with it.
Overall the characters themselves are made for each other - it is genuinely a really big pull for this show. They have amazing chemistry however, I believe that part of the reason people misunderstand Fan Xiao and Youlang is because the actors are not able to properly portray these emotions to the extent needed. This is Yunqi's first acting gig so it’s understandable but Hao Yiran has acting experience it’s just that he has gotten an insane amount of work done on his face. The botox face cannot convey the full emotions needed. The visuals are definitely a drawback to the show. I sometimes can’t take Youlang seriously.
I would recommend this to people who enjoy some psychotic thriller with chemistry but if you watch BLs for the visuals (or hots boys kissing etc.) this might not be the show for you.

Sweet Story
This was such a cute story. I adore the FL and ML. I’m a huge fan of the leads. The start of the story is really heartbreaking because of how some nobles treat the slaves. The FL Hong, Eun Jo, is a daughter of a concubine. She secretly goes out at night as “Hong Gil Dong”, a version of Robin Hood that steals from the rich and helps the poor. She is great in archery but doesn’t kill people. She uses cloth in arrows just enough to stop people from chasing her. Eun Jo accepts the offer from Im Sa Hyeong, one of the court officials that has a high position to marry her off to his dying father. She uses that opportunity for a better life. She knows the consequences that once she does go down that path, there is no going back. She sees the grand prince, not knowing who he really is, and kisses him. There’s this little monk that goes around and gave both of them bracelets. These bracelets switches their souls whenever one of them is in danger. It was funny whenever they got switched. Their relationship is very sweet. There was never a dull moment between them. As for the second male lead, Im Jae I, the son of Im Sa Hyeong, he was very aggressive at first and I hated his character. But then again, he slowly understood everything, thanks to Hong Eun Jo. He had his character development, thanks goodness. The supporting characters were great, too. That noble girl was really cute and sweet. She would always think about who she really fell for whenever the main leads switched. Everyone got what they deserved. I love how Eun Jo saved a little boy who was drowning back then. I already knew it was the prince. Not surprised since it’s one of the ingredients for every drama. I loved everything about this story. There’s a lot of lessons to learn here. There isn’t much happening in this show, except for a workaholic woman who suddenly gets pregnant!!Tragically, Jang Hui Won is 40-years-old woman, who is single and dedicated to her work. Ironically, her best friends Cha Min Uk & Hwang Mi Ran are also unmarried. While planning for her transition abroad, she meets the male protagonist, Kang Du Jun. Unaware of his real identity, they have a casual conversation, get drunk and end up having a one-night stand. Things go awry when Hui Won discovers that she is pregnant and the father of her baby is the company president. “Positively Yours” isn’t calculative, it is carefully curated and at times, it does seem boring. But if you are fans of the main leads, then you can definitely sit through twelve odd episodes as both protagonists overcome their personal traumas and fears, to form a family unit. I won’t say it was the best, but it wasn’t that bad either!!

I found this movie really interesting. It had an indie movie vibe, it was art.The three were all broken in some way, and through their relationships with each other, each were able to climb up out of their private hell and move forward with life
A lot of people felt that the Christmas Eve incident was cliche, and that piece of it was. It was only a part of the bigger picture, though. All of the events that came after that incident were meaningful, and I feel that they brought everything together. I especially liked the ending where they circled back to the story of the Indian who stopped and waited for his soul to catch up with him. I thought this was really poetic, and it gave me a feeling of peace about death in general.

Fell off towards the end
Premise is hilarious; it was funny to watch nothing go according to plan for our main character in the first half of the show. The second half kind of fell off. I think what made the second half weak was that it became too serious: trying to present a greater meaning to a completely ridiculous situation. It's easier to overlook the plot holes when it's just a comedy; but when you start getting serious, the plot holes are harder to ignore.Was this review helpful to you?
My first drama, and the MOST comforting
The only reason why I started watching c-dramas was because I came across a clip from this drama in YouTube Shorts 😭. It's a good thing that I did, because if not, I wouldn't start watching c-dramas AT ALL.The drama is relatively fluff. For me honestly, it's kid-friendly level. The only thing that's a bit inappropriate is the ONE drinking scene and the kissing scenes.
That's honestly IT. I did find Su Zai Zai a bit annoying though, not only because of her high pitch voice, but her actions.

THE MOST COMFORTING DRAMA EVER
I don't typically watch family dramas but found myself pleasantly surprised after Kang Ning and Chai An got married. I actually want to stop right there, but good thing I didn't, cause the fourth couple is the BEST couple in the drama, fight with the wall 😡.While some viewers find the male characters immature, I see it as adding depth. I also wish there was more story for the second couple, Fu Hui and Fan Liang Han, A bit more story wouldn't hurt, even though they already got married.

Enjoyable But Could Have Been Better
I quite enjoyed the series overall though I wouldn't call it a favourite in the transmigration genre. But there is a lot to love about it.Firstly, the leads are incredible! The FL is stunning and she is a strong, graceful, charming woman with a good head on her shoulders. She is the brains behind the collaboration of the leads. ML is the executioner. He is strong yet gentle, brave and understanding and trusts the FL which is what makes their dynamic work so well. He trusts her even before she trusts him. More than their romance, I enjoyed their chemistry and banter.
Secondly, the other characters. I loved the SFL and Mr Bai the most. The scholars were nice too. It's always great when secondary and supporting characters bring life to the drama. I also liked the physician but sadly his role was small.
Third, the plot. No drama can succeed on acting alone. If the plot is weak, it all falls apart. The story of How Dare You has a good flow and never gets boring. There is also mystery about certain characters which helped kept me interested in the story. Fortunately we don't really have a misunderstanding and breakup trope or at least not really. Whatever happens is resolved almost immediately.
Fourth, I got emotional in certain parts and I feel the ML conveyed them really well.
I enjoyed the drama OST too. It suited the scenes a lot.
Where it failed to hit the mark:
I expected this to be more comedic than it is. The title also makes you think it will be more funny than serious. It starts off funny but gets a bit more dramatic and serious 7 - 10 episodes in. There is light comedy here and there to make you smile but no laughs from my end.
The action sequences. Usually the leads are involved in the fighting and action scenes as much as the side characters but that's not the case in this drama. Though I didn't mind the leads not fighting at alll, I felt the action scenes itself were kind of average or overly dramatic. And I'm a sucker for a good action sequence so this mattered to me.
The SML was okay. I don't feel much for him which isn't a good thing.
The ending. It was quite abrupt and tbh I didn't understand what happened at all until I read some explanations. I don't really like when directors expect you to fall back on the source to fill in your gaps. But I also understand why they did it that way. Since it involves censorship, I can't call it bad storytelling. Still... they could have compensated in other ways so it was disappoiinting.
Introducing a character late and then the twist. I'm not sure the twist was needed.
Romance. Though the leads' chemistry is great, the romance is okay. You won't find much of it since there is a lot of planning and scheming going on. Since everything was good, I didn't care too much so I'm mentioning this last. As romance can be huge for some viewers, I thought I would point this out.
To sum up, How Dare You is quite enjoyable but it also leaves you wanting a bit more.

What begins as survival quickly turns into a dangerous double-spy triangle.
The contrast between the two “mad dogs” is one of the most interesting elements:
Kurosaki, the relentless narcotics officer, and Katsuragi from the Metropolitan Police, who brings an entirely different intensity.
Casting is unexpectedly strong — Daigo Nishihata as the conflicted protagonist, Yoshihiko Hosoda as the ruthless narcotics officer, and Osamu Mukai adding weight and presence.
It’s not flawless, and the tone sometimes wavers, but the premise is bold and intriguing enough to keep watching.
If you enjoy morally gray characters and tense power dynamics, this one might be worth checking out.

Just Great
It’s been some time since I have seen such a good movie. The atmosphere was great, music was amazing and the actors were incredible. Skipped nothing, and will watch it again. As the movie was ending I felt like you kinda new something was gonna happen, as there always is with those kind of movies and I just cried for the last 20 minutes, Still amazing. Wouldn’t have hated a happy ending, but it still kinda fitted. I really liked the vibe of this movie. I went in with completely different expectations, but it’s very heartwarming. It reminded me of 20th century girl, but in cinematic. Definitely keep this one in mind. would recommend.Was this review helpful to you?
