Based on true events

*A Taxi Driver* was such a powerful watch, and knowing that it’s based on real events makes it even more meaningful. There’s something about films rooted in true history that hits differently, you’re not just watching a story unfold, you’re witnessing something that actually shaped lives.

Before this movie, I had never really heard about the Gwangju Uprising (also known as the Gwangju Student Independence Movement). After watching it, I found myself reading more about it, wanting to understand the real history behind what I had just seen. That’s one of the reasons I love movies based on true events they don’t just entertain you, they educate you. They open a door to history in a way textbooks sometimes don’t.

Be prepared to cry. This film is emotional. While parts of the taxi driver’s personal storyline were fruits of fantasy, since the real-life driver was never formally identified and didn’t actually meet the journalist again, the core political events and historical context remain true.

Song Kang-ho is, as always, absolutely phenomenal. I’ve loved him ever since Memories of Murder, and he was perfectly cast here. He brings warmth, humor, fear, and transformation to the role in a way that feels so natural.
I don’t want to give away too much of the story even though it’s based on real history, I think it’s best experienced firsthand.

Ten out of fucking ten lmao

I don't care if I sacrificed my sleep schedule for this series, but it was so worth it. I was a little scared to start the 3rd season because of the backlash from the fans, and after watching it, THEY ARE SO DRAMATIC. If you don't get any basic points of the characters, or their relationship, you're just dumb. But some things weren't understandable for sure ,for example why did Usagi return to the games for his father??? Maybe i'll have to do some research about that. Yeah but so arisu and usagi's relationship is so heartwarming. When arisu decided to sacrifice himself to get usagi out of the last game, I remembered their first meeting, cute moments, that and I just got so emotional lolololol. The last scene where arisu takes interviews from OUR LOVESSS, I cried. I love this series smmmm. So yeah 10 out of 10

Truth doesn't equal Accountability

Though at the core this drama is of FL whose family is massacred and she is out for revenge, the revenge story is told through series of cases solved by FL and ML rather than a straightforward vengeance arc. Each case stands on it own as well and all these come together and build something heavier and unsettling.
This is a deeply female centric drama. FL Is the intelligent martial arts well versed person whereas the ML is more like an intelligent companion who uses his knowledge and memory and observation kills to help the ML. Individual cases are not just mysteries to be solved , they expose how women were oppressed and abused in palaces and by men in power. And how men in power used other women to trap, lure, target weak women and families to abuse women and keep their chain going. The writing and drama doesn't sugar coat it at all. As viewers watch cases unfold, FL investigated these cases, risks her life, everything to uncover the truth, but despite that Justice never truly gets served.
This drama's central theme gets beautifully summed up by FL in the end when she says
“What’s the point of uncovering the truth when no one actually gets justice?”
Wrongdoers do not always receive the punishment they deserve. It’s a frustrating truth, but also a painfully realistic one. In that sense, the drama feels incredibly relevant to present times, where powerful networks protect their own and truth does not always equal accountability.

Bai Lu delivers one of her most restrained yet powerful performances here. Her character is a woman shaped by survival — someone forced to protect herself while still maintaining her compassion. What I appreciated most was how layered she felt;Guarded, but not cold. Strong, but not invulnerable. Caring toward her princess friend, her subordinates, and the empress who raised her. She carries the revenge arc, and it feels earned. This is very much her story. she reminded me many times of Ling Bu Yi from LLTG. The ML played by Wang Xin Yue plays a reserved, poker-faced astronomer who avoids court politics but gets pulled into investigations because of his sharp observational skills and intellect. He performs the role well — but it does feel somewhat familiar. If you’ve seen him in other dramas, you may feel he’s treading similar ground. It’s not disappointing, just not particularly expansive in terms of showing new acting range.

The leads begin flirting early, but it evolves into a slow-burn dynamic built on intellectual compatibility and quiet support.
There’s no dramatic, over-the-top passion — it’s more about being on the same wavelength, mutual respect, shared understanding. It feels like regular more realistic love.
Fight scenes are well choreographed.Costumes are detailed and thoughtfully aligned with each case and its themes. The pacing remains steady throughout.

Overall one of the best female centric drama which doesn't reduce ML into some weak person or doesn't make the FL into a toxic masculine character. On one hand the drama shows the cruelty and oppression of women by men, also on the other hand it shows the men and women who help rescue them. A well balanced drama in that aspect of showing the power of feminine with help amd support of the masculine.
Rating 8.7/10

Not even gonna sugar coat ts

Honestly the worse show I've ever watched. And that's a feat for me who rates everything 10/10 cause I can't be asked. It's boring and just boring. Actings trash too. Id skip ahead and they'd still be in the same scene and playing the same background music for 20 minutes. And I tried watching this 3 times, it's 2026...this came out in 2024. 2 years I've been trying get through episode 2 and I fall asleep every damn time. It was torture. Slice of life done bad, how uneventful. I'm not one of those, just skip this persons. Actually I want you to watch it just so u can come back and tell me I was right. Go on ahead.

0.5 /10 highly recommend

Acting so terrible, 1 star cause atleast they showed up
Story was good but they did nothing with it
Music = repetitive
Rewatch value? Can't I rate 0 stars on here?
Overall is 0.5, whcih I can't even rate that low, even mdl doesn't believe a show could be this bad

A Journey to Love and Loss

A Journey to Love is a wuxia romance that will probably go down in history as one of the better dramas in the genre despite its controversial ending. After all, it has an engaging story, endearing characters, superb fight choreography, and a great balance of humor and drama with found-family tropes and heartwrenching emotional beats. I put off watching this for three years, knowing how divisive the ending is. But I finally gave in when I decided to go on a Liu Yuning drama binge. I have to say, I'm glad I did. The ending did indeed disappoint a little, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

The story starts off with Ren Ruyi, an elusive and enigmatic spy/assassin set on revenge and determined to unleash hell on those responsible for her demise. By chance, she meets Ning Yuan Zhou, a former rival and the indomitable chief of an opposing organization, and perhaps the only one who could best her in a one-on-one face-off. She finds herself going on a critical diplomatic mission with him and his chosen team of elite warriors to accompany a timid princess for the sake of a kingdom. Not gonna lie, this plot reminded me somewhat of Star Wars and that's one of the reasons I was drawn to it. But it proved to be so much more! It has two of the best-written female leads I've seen in a while and one of the best performances from Liu Yuning.

Princess Yang Ying and Ren Ruyi represent two types of strong female characters, one is a seemingly weak political pawn who learns to take control of her own life, and the other is a fearless warrior who shows vulnerability, and admits her loneliness and desire to rely on others. I rarely see that in C-dramas or in any medium these days. It's always the badass Mary Sue who is basically a woman written with male characteristics or the damsel in distress waiting to be saved. Yang Ying's character development is the best I've seen to date. She grows from being the frightened princess that everyone bullies into a powerful leader and strategist. He Lan Dou is a revelation to me in this role. I certainly would want to see her in another project again.

Ruyi, on the other hand, may have the prowess of a male character, but she keeps her undeniably feminine charms, and displays weakness and emotional turmoil. She realizes that she's not indestructible and has to depend on others in times of distress. Liu Shishi is brilliant as the best assassin of the Crimson Guard. She absolutely sells the badassery of the character and she does look like a true martial artist, reminding me of Michelle Yeoh when she was younger. Her relationship with Ning Yuan Zhou is the foundation of this drama. Similarly, Yuan Zhou is an interesting well-fleshed out character. Despite his obvious masculinity and dominance, he is not the least bit misogynistic like most men of his time. He is not embarrassed to be bested by a woman or follow her orders because he judges people based on their characters and capabilities, not their gender or station. He is, in all sense of the term, a good man. As Ruyi states in one scene, there is only one Ning Yuan Zhou, a truly rare gem, and a feminist at that, among manly men of that era. And Liu Yuning shines in this role. No wonder this is considered his breakthrough performance that garnered him acting awards and critical acclaim as an actor.

But the real draw of this drama to me is the found-family trope, and the boys of Six Realms Hall completely endeared themselves to me. Fang Yi Lun, who kinda looks like a cross between Hyun Bin and Yamapi, is the standout for sure! He almost steals this show from Yuning... almost. He is so adorably flamboyant that I just couldn't help but love him. I had to rack my brain to remember where I've seen him before, later realizing that I first saw him in The Longest Promise. Chen You Wei as Yuan Lu is my second favorite among the bunch. His chemistry with He Lan Dou half carried the show for me. They were my ship!

The production in this drama is not particularly outstanding, but the fight choreography is impressive. I don't see these kinds of fight scenes in wuxia dramas anymore. These days, they rely too heavily on special effects that wuxia dramas feel more like video games than the ones I used to watch as a kid. I'm not overly fond of this change. Although I did notice that in some scenes, Yuning was moving strangely due to the injury he suffered while shooting the series, it didn't hinder me from enjoying the drama.

The music is one of its strong suits. I can still hear the cool Ren Xin/Ruyi theme playing in my head even as I write this review. And of course the songs from Yuning and Jason Zhang are now included in my C-music playlist.

But as all war stories go, this does not end well. Personally, I don't mind the tragic ending. I actually like that there are real stakes involved and no plot armors for the main cast. This was a suicide mission from the start and they knew it. My complaint is not how it ends but how they come to that conclusion. The last few episodes felt like they were written by a different screenwriter. It's as if the original writer left them in a lurch and someone had to take over and quickly end the drama. The narrative style changed as well as the pacing like there were key scenes missing but were purposely taken out to meet the 40-episode limit. And that ambiguous dream sequence-ish ending seemed totally out of place. Just tell us they died and became heroes! Period. If they really wanted to go that route, then at least put the right characters in that scene not Chu Yue who barely knew the main characters except Yu Shi San, and wasn't even introduced to the story until much later. They could've at least chosen to show Princess Yang Ying and Li Tong Guang with the boy. The dream could've been a symbolic passing of the torch from masters to their pupils. That last scene was just off no matter how hard they tried to make it emotional. That was NOT it! The drama would've been one of the best C-dramas ever made if they had only managed to stick the landing. But even so, I would still consider this an accomplishment. As a whole, it is still a great watch and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good wuxia drama with compelling characters.

A very pretty BL, intelligent and beautifully acted.

PLOT: In high school, Achivich and Jirawat were very close. Jirawat was attracted to a girl, so Achi hid his feelings for Jirawat. Until one night when the two "friends" shared an intimate moment, moment which Jirawat then wanted to forget, pushing Achi away (hurt, leaves for the US). 10 years later, they meet again. Achi is a star actor and Jirawat is doing his medical internship at the hospital. Achi does everything he can to win Jirawat back.

+++ Junior and Fluke are exceptional in these roles: handsome, sensitive, and moving. ♡╰(゚x゚)╯♡ ♡╰(゚x゚)╯♡
+++ The story is realistic, psychologically coherent, and well-written. It perfectly captures the first stirrings of love, the hesitations surrounding an unfamiliar sexual identity, the fear of losing a friend, etc.
+++ The cast brings to life well-developed and endearing secondary characters.
+++ The direction, with its fast pace, skillfully alternates between present-day events and flashbacks.

No flaws!!

=> A series with an endearing couple that's hard to leave. I will undoubtedly it watch again.
****************************************************

No flaws !!

=> Une série avec un couple attachant qu'on a du mal à quitter, que je regarderai sans aucun doute à nouveau.

New gamessss

Love how we get to see our fellow characters bonding. This season was nothing but a gem. One of the best things was, we get to see another characters POV, for example Chishiya, or Ann. Loved ittt. Also the ending, made me question about lot of things. Like the croquet match with Mira. The actors are super good, I should have watched this series much sooner

To My Beloved Thief is a perfect 10

To My Beloved Thief is a perfect 10, masterfully blending historical sageuk with witty body-swap comedy, thrilling heist action, and heartfelt romance. The drama shines with a strong, multi-dimensional female lead and a charming hero whose chemistry brings both laughter and emotional depth to every scene. Its pacing is engaging, the stakes are high, and the story balances humor, suspense, and tender moments effortlessly, making it an addictive watch that leaves viewers both entertained and emotionally invested from start to finish.

ehhhhhhhhhhh

The movie itself was great but feels like they threw that clique ending in there just so the movie had proper substance. If it weren't for that ending then it would have been a skip for most. Now it lands itself in the K-truama list which boosts it instantly. Since people like to rate these kinds of shows based on the ending. I like the vibe of the movie and it kept me entertained. But definitely not the best.

7/10 ehhhh I'd say watch every other k-trauma story first before you get to this one. Not highly recommended but not a skip. It's giving that one movie that came out 6 years ago that you still haven't watched. But it's now 2032 and you're ready.

The classic everyone talks about

Watched this movie for the first time, and I must say I really enjoyed it. It's actually a really fun romcom with a backstory I didn't expect to make me so emotional. I can understand why some people might not like it or have different opinions but I think that if you don't take it too seriously and just try to have a good time it's really worth it. The chemistry was great, with a perfect performance from Jun Jihyun as I expected. As I said, I know it might be somewhat controversial for some people but if you have this movie on your watchlist I think you should give it a try.

Another Favorite From 2026, Loved Everything About It!!

What happens when a righteous thief meets the Grand Prince??

Supposedly, he/she should get arrested. This show might remind you of “Moon River”. The recently concluded shows shared one concept- body swapping. The male protagonists in both shows swap bodies whenever one of them is in danger. The theme might seem repetitive, but “To My Beloved Thief” wins with sheer better execution. Starring Nam Ji Hyun & Moon Sang Min in the lead roles, the storyline revolves around the magnanimous thief Gil Dong. With a crazy King on the throne, the capital lies in ruins and the people don’t have food to consume. As such, Gil Dong plays “Robin Hood” by stealing from corrupt officials and sharing their wealth with the downtrodden. During the day time, Gil Dong embodies another personality, that is of Physician Hong Eun Jo. Caught unaware, she gets entangled with the Grand Prince Do Wol, who is rumored to be an idler. As Dowol investigates Gil Dong’s background, he gradually falls for Eun Jo & they work together for the betterment of the poor people.

characters, plot and the ending

i'm not satisfied with the ending, jin taeseok should feel his punishment in prison, yeongchae should apologize for everything she did to jungwon. and why is jungwon haneul's relationship like that..(?) 😭😭 it's very different from yeongchae and sehun who already have a child. i love the development of gong nansuk's character, she is willing to admit all her mistakes and become a better mother for haneul and yeongchae, she also becomes good friends with haera ㅋㅋ to be honest, the episodes leading up to the ending felt boring and the plot was chaotic... 🥲

I loved it

Forget all the negative comments, if ur planning to watch it, go for it… this series is truly good. I’m not sure what makes the other reviewers put this drama so down when it’s actually good but to each their own I guess …
Pondphuwin were amazing, there were so many beautiful and cute scenes that I was not expecting but it was a happy surprise.. they’re gorgeous, beautiful ppl who are in love with each other, what can be more beautiful than that?? Also, I felt ppw connect in the most raw and loving way in this series… I loved them so much

Ofc there are plot holes and shortcomings in the show, like my biggest question was why are the richest ppl not hiring proper bodyguards for themselves when they knew they are in life threatening danger?
My Perth baby was beautiful, he was such a great character, I loved him but chimon, I’m sorry but his character was not it.. I wished he brought something to the table but he kind of didn’t.. he was just there

Anyways, a great watch, I enjoyed watching it

Impeccable ensemble of actors who brilliantly carried the whole series despite the so-so story.

Wow. The line up of actors in this is crazy good! So my expectation was a bit high! This is what they usually say great cast but mediocre script. With this is I would repeatedly praise and go on and on how good the actors were despite the mediocre story. It could have been a movie because of the script/story, but it was such a treat how they made it into a limited series just to see the brilliance of these actors. The story doesn't have much depth into it but the actors-gave it so much life, the attention into details of the actors with the characters they are playing is what made me finish is it till the end.

They gave the characters their own life-they interpreted it in such a way that it surpassed the story itself. I stayed because of the characters.

Nam Gi Jun played by So Ji Sub is such a straightforward character, but you would see throughout the series his ruthlessness is also equated to his humanity. The ways he made layers in his character is brilliant and subtle at the same time. That made it so satisfying and not overly glorified.

Give it a try and you would be on a ride-it was a treat especially for those who want a cleanse and witness the action-packed intense scenes-straightforward fighting filled with grit.

The one thing I appreciate is that for every fight scene you could see that when they focus the intended character each actor will have their own side-the side of the will and grit to live and stay. To fight for each of their own causes.

Don't want to spoil but it would have been nice if this was longer to explore of their so-called world. I don't know if I am biased but at some point it resembles the world of John Wick - maybe inspired by it but sadly if this is so it would have been really better if they made it to a full blown series-maybe it would have been given another turn and maybe a world of its own would be created. It has that potential!!!

But all in all it was a nice one-the actors gave this one a life. Easy watch and entertaining one!

I had high hopes for this drama

The acting was subpar, I won't lie but the beginning of the story gave me high hopes. As the story progressed though, it just got more egregious and silly. How is she genuinely getting away with so many crimes and so openly? And somehow NO ONE has figured it out? Oh and don't get me started on the crap ending! For basically nothing to happen to her except prison...? Exactly what was hell for her...? Additionally, Sawako and Juri/Komi somehow survive multiple stabbings (+FIRE FOR SAWAKO) but Makoto gets ONE stab in the stomach and dies? Right, because that makes sense. Just a genuine letdown.
