Predictable, but other than that a pretty solid drama

The ending was pretty much what i expected from the very start of this drama. It was predictable but overall great. The actors did an amazing job, although i have my complaints about how scary FL looks in this drama. I get the korean beauty standards but this is just too much.

The side characters were okay, they didn't have much personality, but some of them were likable, some of them i hated.

I could complain all day about the cops not doing their jobs properly and how they tried to victim blame until the end but i'm not gonna do that today.

Overall it was a solid drama, not the greatest but it definitely kept me waiting each after each episode.

Slow to start...

People have told me that LOVE LIKE THE GALAXY is a fantastic drama. I believe those people. I read the reviews, and they all said the same thing.

In Episode 1, we meet the cast of characters, a large, unpleasant, bickering family. A war’s raging on the border, and Mom and Dad are just back from the frontlines. They haven’t seen their daughter Cheng Shao Shang for ten years--nor have they made any real attempt to contact her. Why?

It’s not clear. We’re told that Chen Shao Shang has been cared for by neglectful relatives. She’s been starved, mistreated, and deprived of an education. The poor girl’s health is supposedly precarious.

But with a couple of winks, the girl lets the audience know that she’s faking it. Also, the actress in question looks particularly well-fed–so, not to worry.

We hear over and over about the travails of Old Madame Cheng–the blubbering, melodramatic grandma. I counted twelve(!) different speeches made by this woman in the first two episodes. She whines and complains incessantly. There’s also a thoroughly wretched uncle who’s been embezzling armaments–and a stone-faced general who comes to investigate the crime. Everyone argues about who’s filial and who isn’t.

There’s no hook, nothing to convince me to keep watching this series.

In addition, this entire series is 56 episodes long! Judging by the first two episodes the pacing is going to be sloooowww. I'm sorry. I can only go by what I’ve seen so far. Your mileage may differ.

When you are meant to be, no matter what, fate will bring you back together.

When I was first recommended to watch this movie, I was told that it would make me sweat like crazy. I didn’t fully grasp what that meant until I found myself anxious and sweating profusely until the very last second of the movie. So, yes... you’re in for a ride.

Neddlessto say that I love Nana Komatsu and Suda Masaki, and seeing them on screen is always a fest for my eyes.
As expected, this movie did not disappoint. What a plot! Although I was anxious throughout the entire experience, I’m really glad I watched it. It felt like I could hardly breathe, constantly checking the movie’s runtime and hoping, wishing, and even shouting at the screen for them to reunite before the end.

Plot**
The story follows Ren and Aoi, who first meet in middle school. The two fall in love, but one day Aoi disappears. After searching for her, Ren finds out that she has moved to another city and fled from home to escape a difficult situation. When he finally reaches her house, he discovers that Aoi has been abused by her stepfather and is in a bad place. Together, they decide to run away. Unfortunately, the police find them, and they end up being separated.
Ten years later, they meet again, but they are living very different lives. Thus begins their journey, with both living their own lives in different parts of the world, while fate always seems to try to bring them back together.

It’s a beautiful story, and trust me, you won’t regret watching it. I don’t want to reveal too much because I believe you should experience it for yourself. However, let me assure you, you never know what destiny has in store for you. No matter how far you stray or how lost you feel, if you are meant to be with someone, fate will create paths and bridges for you to meet again.

real and valid reaction

Nakhun’s reaction to traveling back in time is so valid. So why in earth am I seeing comments saying they did this series dirty or that it's messy? Girl, where?

Be real, if you got the chance to travel back in time to a place where you had nothing—absolutely nothing—you’d be terrified. You would have no idea where you were, why you were there, or who any of those people were. We should be thankful Nakhun didn't just break down, because if that were me, I’d be sobbing at all those unfamiliar faces and surroundings.

Anyways, (my review on the meantime): I never thought I’d switch companies that fast. I used to be a huge fan of the blue company, (not badmouthing them, of course)—but I’ve found Domundi’s way of storytelling to be unique, natural, and truly one of a kind.

When I watched “Your Sky,” starring Thomas and Kong, I was shocked because I didn't feel any of that typical second-hand embarrassment. From then on, I fell in love with the cast and started researching them. I watched the pilots for several stories; the ones that caught my attention first were Duang with You, Khemjira, Mr. Fanboy, Magic Lovers, and Love Upon a Time. As someone who loves time-travel period dramas, Love Upon a Time immediately intrigued me. It made me wonder, “How will they convey the message this time?” I’ve seen many time-travel dramas, but never a BL. So, I decided to give it a try, and once again, I fell in love. It’s like this company puts some kind of poison in their series—it’s so addictive and satisfying, without being cringey.

I also love heavy angst. As a writer, I know those hurtful, heavy crying scenes are a pain in the ass to write, but they are so worth it. Overall, Domundi never ceases to amaze me. They keep raising my standards for visuals, storytelling, natural acting, and casting.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The beauty of love, of many kinds, at various stages, on different paths

In Your Radiant Season is such a beautiful story, written so perfectly and directed even better. The colors, the emotions, the scenes, the words, the story, the people; all extraordinarily believable, all amazingly perfect.

While it might seem like a melo, slow, depressed show at first (imo), it actually diverges early from all blues to shades of pink, green, orange, purple... the whole rainbow.

All the love stories were so well written, going through different paths all to end up at the same destination of happiness and belongingness.

I really wanted to see more of Hanyeong and Mr Yeon, though :(

Grab that mega box of tissues before you start this movie...

I highly recommend checking out the manga before you watch this movie, as it can adds significant depth to the movie.

This movie is yet another example of J-trauma. At this point, watching these emotionally intense movies that make me tear up and leave scars on my heart has become a weekly ritual. Make sure to have a mega box of tissues on hand because this will make you cry. I don't wanna give away the story because it's worth watching but also because I don't wanna start tearing up again.

One aspect I'd like to highlight is how the movie raises awareness about ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and the debilitating nature of this disease. Watching Rino battle ALS at such a young age and witnessing its impact on Rio's family and Ren offers a realistic depiction of the challenges this condition presents. I am impressed by both the manga and the movie for educating viewers about a disease that's rarely discussed but can be devastating for those who fight it.

Overall, the movie is definitely worth watching for how informative is about ALS despite its extremely sad premise.

Cat Cafe's For the Soul

This was adorable. Nothing too crazy happened, had plenty of cute sweet moments, Khaotung stole my heart yet again! I needed a more lowkey BL to watch after all the crazy ones I've watched so far this year. This felt just right and made me desperately want to work at a cat cafe. Please give this one a chance, even if you're a dog person!

FortPeat Said “No Fluff, Just Trauma” and We ATE UP

FortPeat chemistry?? yeah no, that’s not a joke, that’s a full-blown phenomenon. The way they came in and said “new era, new vibe” after their previous series… I’m obsessed. Completely different flavor, and they delivered.

And to the timeline complainers;please 😭 WeTV literally dropped a whole explanation reel. The information is there, y’all just don’t want to read.

What I love about this series is that it’s DARK. Messy. Complicated. Emotionally draining in the best way. This is NOT your soft, fluffy BL—this is “sit down and process your feelings after every episode” territory. Not for the weak.

Kelvin??? Oh Peat ATE. That man said “give me psychological complexity and moral ambiguity” and ran with it. Twisted, layered, lowkey unhinged… and somehow still heartbreaking to watch him struggle through it all. Like damn, let him breathe???
Also… he chained his top to the bed?? Sir??? New trope unlocked I guess 😭 and somehow it WORKS??

And knowing Fort and Peat IRL makes it even crazier because this is SUCH a departure from their real personalities. The commitment?? The RANGE?? Fort really out here acting like being chained up to peats bed isn’t the best thing thats ever happened to him, academy award when? xD

This show is basically a chaotic rollercoaster of a relationship: messy, intense, full of turns you don’t see coming. But then they hit you with that special episode?? Soft, domestic, in-love VeirKelvin?? I almost forgot the trauma for a second.

End of the day: FortPeat don’t miss. Ever. The magic is real, and they prove it every single time.

If I had told her how I felt back then, would the future have been different?

"18×2 Beyond Youthful Days" is truly a cinematic feast. If you enjoyed "Love Letter" and have a fondness for old Hong Kong-style movies featuring those vibrant and warm colors, you will likely love this film.

Prepare yourself for a deeply emotional experience, as this movie is quite sad! Have a mega tissue box nearby because you’re going to feel a lot. This will resonate even more if you've seen "Love Letter," the iconic Japanese movie, since this story parallels its narrative and cinematography.
This film, a co-production between Taiwan and Japan, takes us on a journey through the bustling warm streets of Taiwan and showcases the stunning coastal and snowy landscapes of Kamakura, Nagano, and Fukushima.

Despite its breathtaking cinematography and camerawork, the film excels in plot as well. Paying homage to "Love Letter," it tells the story of Jimmy and Ami as they fall in love, only to be confronted by life's twists and turns and the regrets tied to lost chances. It prompts us to reflect, "If I had told her how I felt back then, would the future have been different?" As Jimmy travels through Japan, a sense of nostalgia washes over you. We’ve all experienced the feelings of lost time and missed opportunities, and the regret of waiting too long to meet the people we wanted to. Sometimes, we get caught up in the routine of life and forget to truly live. This is the kind of movie that evokes those emotions profoundly.

From a cinematography perspective, this film serves as an excellent case study for film schools. The way the story and performances are enhanced through careful camera angles, lighting, and color is remarkable.

At the beginning of the movie, we see a lot of cold tones;whites and greys, that evoke a sense of chill. This color palette mirrors Jimmy’s life, which has lost its warmth as he has moved into adulthood. His once bright and joyful self is now overshadowed by the stresses of business, leaving his days filled with grey, much like the colors on screen.

In contrast, his flashbacks to youth are brimming with warmth; a vivid array of yellows, oranges, and reds that capture the lively nights in Taiwan's bustling streets, filled with traffic and roadside food stalls illuminated by cheerful yellow lights and neon signs. It feels warm, happy, and comforting, reminiscent of old-school, vintage Hong Kong-style movies, which are soaked in nostalgia. The colors perfectly match the emotions the movie aims to convey; so much that, you can almost feel the warmth radiating from the screen.

The film culminates in a visual feast, showcasing scenic locations in Japan that echo the breathtaking scenery of "Love Letter," now rendered with bright whites and soft hints of cool blues. These colors evoke feelings of a bright future, beauty, and clarity, emphasizing the vastness of the Earth and the endless opportunities for exploration. It serves as a reminder of how traveling and the people you meet can forever change your perspective on life.

The sense of nostalgia that pervades the entire movie makes you feel alive, almost as if you’ve shared those experiences with Jimmy. Perhaps it’s the millennial in me that longs for those old memories, which are deeply embedded in our hearts and souls.

If you appreciate storytelling, cinema, and art, you will find much to love in this film. There’s so much to discuss. However, for a more complete experience, I recommend watching "Love Letter" first. It will provide greater clarity and make you appreciate the film’s message more profoundly.

IT HURTS, BUT IT HOLDS YOU..

A quiet, healing drama that focuses more on emotions than plot.

It doesn’t rush into big moments. Instead, it follows its characters as they deal with pain in small, realistic ways. There are no dramatic breakthroughs, just gradual changes that feel honest and relatable.

The leads carry the story well. Their struggles feel grounded, and their growth, while slow, feels earned. The chemistry is subtle, built through comfort and understanding rather than intensity.

The supporting characters add warmth to the story. Some offer happiness & support, others bring tension, but overall they help show that healing is not something you go through alone.

The pacing is slow, which may not work for everyone. If you’re expecting strong plot twists or high drama, this might feel lacking. But if you enjoy character-driven stories, it delivers.

Overall, it’s not a perfect drama, but it succeeds in what it sets out to do; show healing in a quiet, realistic way.

So far very good

Very interesting storyline, you don't see that level of complexity in bl drama often, and it is handled very well by the director, 10/10 to him and the crew. Great acting from the teachers and students, especially Santa, can't wait to see how the mystery surrounding Solar and Sun unfold in the coming weeks.

It’s a lovely watch but definitely some lost potential

Let’s start with the main leads Seo Mi Rae and Park Kyeongnam similar yet polar opposites they are strictly committed to work and seem to be very much workaholics however Mi Rae’s personality can enjoy some fun hang with friends and what not whereas Kyeongnam is kinda boring seems like he gets up to work and only work.
I liked the VR idea but its execution was an overstep unfortunately we viewed far too much of the drama was Mi Rae and her VR boyfriends that we missed on perhaps any crucial element suggesting a spark between her and the male lead. He blurts his feelings in what we as viewers expected however not in a great way due to the lack of backstory. His feelings seem almost fake as we have no idea where it came from. Mi Rae is totally addicted to this VR idea so much that the drama is half VR and half reality which I didn’t quite like I wished for more interaction perhaps more insight into the male leads feelings his life the classic feelings of falling for each other it was almost blasted on us. Then came Gyeong il the character that looked like the male lead portrayed in VR as Mi Rae’s perfect man although it was funny I wished it was done way earlier maybe ep 4 so we could see more of the main leads interactions and the blur between reality and VR occurring. Basically the screenwriting was just not as effective as I’d hoped and the relationship was rushed it was bad enough we didn’t get a full backstory there was the issue of Kyeongnam finding the VR which took away from the couples screen time.
All in all I loved the idea the acting was on point and the moments we got between the couples was everything Kyeongnam was a gentleman very easy to fall for and appeared amazing in every way I just wish we could have viewed more of this instead of having him appear as boring and ignored in the first few episodes.
The rewatch value in terms of the last few episodes I probably will the rest of it though I will respectfully pass as it didn’t meet my standards.
I did however love this drama despite its flaws and would recommend to watch as something perhaps slightly different to our normal k drama tropes.
Jisoo and In Guk aced it their acting is amazing and they are very lovable characters. It’s a shame the screenwriters didn’t highlight their talents and give them the perfect storyline they deserved.
