Episode 1&2: After watching two episodes it is evident that a man in his 40's for sure is dumb from the beginning and that dumbness is shown as part of it being a everyday life and a20's girl for sure is shrewd enough to even undermine men who has spent years in the industry. The flaw is in everyday human's life. Was this review helpful to you?

A Warm, Melancholic Story About Fate and Young Love
First Love is such a beautiful story about fate, first love, and how life doesn’t always go the way we expect it to. What I loved most about this drama is that it isn’t just a romance. It’s also very much about life itself—about hardships, missed chances, and the unpredictable paths people take.Despite everything the characters go through, I really appreciated that in the end both of them achieve their dreams. I was honestly hoping for that outcome, and it made the whole journey feel meaningful.
The show feels like a warm hug. Even though it’s full of obstacles, separation, and sad moments, there’s something incredibly comforting about it. It has that cozy feeling where you just want to sit with a cup of tea on a rainy day and watch it slowly unfold. It’s melodramatic, yes, but in a very gentle, reflective way.
Both actors did an incredible job. The performances were amazing across the board, especially with the younger and older versions of the characters. They really captured the emotions of the story beautifully.
The cinematography is another highlight. The way the show is shot is stunning—it often feels more like a movie than a series. Everything has this soft, melancholic tone that fits the story perfectly. Since the drama is inspired by a song, it actually feels like watching a song come to life, which I thought was really beautiful.
That said, the second couple didn’t interest me very much. Her child’s storyline was more interesting than the couple itself, and the pair involving Yutaka didn’t really leave much of an impression on me.
The only aspect I didn’t enjoy was the situation with the girlfriend. It felt like the male lead was emotionally cheating with the female lead while still being with her, and he never properly ended that relationship. I actually liked him with the girlfriend too, which made the situation feel unfair to her.
The characters can also feel a bit inconsistent at times—sometimes they’re very talkative and extroverted, and other times suddenly very withdrawn. I also wish we had gotten more time seeing the main couple actually being together. Since the entire show revolves around them, it would have been nice to get another episode of them traveling together or simply rediscovering their relationship.
One thing the drama does very well is the timeline shifts. The transitions between the past and present are smooth and easy to follow, never confusing.
Overall, I would definitely recommend First Love, but it’s not a very eventful drama. It’s more on the calm, reflective side—a quiet story about life, love, separation, and how one moment can change the direction of so many lives.
It’s the kind of show you watch when you want something soft, emotional, and comforting.

Truly incredible
So adorable, I really am obsessed with this series. This series has truly exceeded my expectations. While I thought it would just be like any other Japanese school romance, it is so much more somehow, and I love it.This series had a strong start, and it successfully continued being absolutely fantastic.
Things I liked:
1. Kanata is growing a lot as a character. He went through a lot of changes throughout the whole series, and I really loved seeing him grow.
2. Akira's maturity and straightforwardness.
3. So many cute and sweet moments.
4. Great chemistry.
5. Supportive friends.
6. Overall maturity from both Kanata and Akira: I love that instead of running and hiding from each other, they confront their feelings.
Things I disliked:
1. Kanda!!! I don't know if I need to clarify that one, there is no reason for anybody to like him.
Overall I'm so happy I watched this series, and I definitely would say it's one of the best Japanese BLs out there in my opinion.

Anyone hating on this show is a dirty liar.
Probably the best pondphuwin series. I love everything about it : the storyline, the melancolic vibes, the acting, the plaintive lines and fights. The sound track is really great, we don't often watch thai series with an english soundtrack. I feel like gmmtv did really great with this one. Honestly NLMG stands out from most thai bls because this one isn't all rainbows and sunshine. It depicts the life of a sad and lonely and rich teenager who only knew love from his mom, but then slowly develop feelings for a "lower class" boy he met as his family situation worsen. No corny scenes, only pure feelings and emotions. Pond and Phuwin's acting is really great, they did well to portray their emotions. I feel like this type of show suits them better than cheesy ones (me and thee im looking at you). Also the side story is great, not too little and not too much.
Anyways, it's a must-watch if you like withering series.

I'm in love !!
I’ve genuinely lost count of how many times I’ve rewatched HIStory 3: Trapped at this point 😭 it’s that kind of series.First, the cast absolutely carries this show. The chemistry between the actors feels so natural, both on-screen and in behind-the-scenes clips. You can really tell they understood their characters while still having genuine comfort with each other, and that translates into every interaction.
The relationship between Shao Fei and Tang Yi is easily one of the best enemies-to-lovers developments in BL. It doesn’t feel rushed or forced , they actually build it. You see why Tang Yi is guarded, why Shao Fei pushes so hard, and how they slowly meet in the middle. Shao Fei being so open and loud about his feelings is honestly refreshing, while Tang Yi’s slow shift from cold and controlled to vulnerable and soft is just chef’s kiss. Their dynamic keeps you hooked because you’re constantly wondering what will happen next.
What really stands out is how engaging the story is. It keeps you guessing, lets you form theories, and then either proves you right or completely surprises you. It’s one of those shows where you’re too invested to stop watching.
Zhao Zi and Jack were also a really lovely side couple. Their relationship felt soft and genuine, but I do wish we got more screen time and development for them. There’s clearly a lot happening between them that we don’t fully get to see.
That said, the show definitely isn’t perfect. The first few episodes can feel a bit messy and even cringe at times, especially with the overly comedic tone and how incompetent the police are portrayed. If you think too hard about the logic, a lot of things don’t make sense. But honestly, once you stop taking it too seriously, it becomes so much more enjoyable.
Overall, it’s emotional, addictive, and full of memorable moments. The romance, the tension, the character growth , it all just works. Even with its flaws, this is one of those BLs that stays with you long after you finish it.

Pointless story…
I never felt so angry watching a drama before and this definitely hits the marks in all things bad. I was actually excited when Eiji Akaso had a new drama because I really like his performance in Inheritance Detective. But the plot in this show is absolutely waste of my time as there were no depth at all. It tries to show how different culture can come into conflict in a relationship but it was cleared very quickly. Most of the time it was lovey dovey between the couple. And given how they were really loving throughout, it’s hard to imagine they break up in the end because of long distance. Most of the growth in this show also doesn’t make sense too as I don’t see how the two lead became better persons through their relationship. It felt really forced. It also doesn’t make sense that Noa put up with his bf for so long too when he is such a shit of a person. It also doesn’t help that the FL is annoying as hell because she is quite selfish plus her acting was stale making it so hard to watch her. Eiji performance was also hampered because his character is also kinda flat.
Overall the best thing is probably the music and ost. There’s nothing redeemable about this show and a waste of cast from both countries.

An exceptional series
One of the best series I've seen in the Chinese fantasy genre. The soundtrack is a marvel to the ears, evoking a thousand emotions. The plot is spot-on; the minutes fly by when you're watching it. It has comedy, drama, action, a beautiful romance... I absolutely loved it. The leads exude chemistry and a natural connection... I highly recommend it.Was this review helpful to you?

CAPTIVATING!
Alice in Borderland Season 1Right off the bat, this is just reminding me of a Japanese version of Squid game. It’s super captivating though, like I just want to keep on watching and the episodes are a perfect length.
When Arisu figured out the first game, I could already tell he would be like a wizard. Really good at puzzles.
Bro, at the end of Episode 3 when Karube and Chota sacrificed themselves in order to save Arisu. I can’t. Why the heck did they die so early? Chota hugging the person he ended up loving and experiencing life with. Karube holding onto the ring of his loved one and reflecting. Them both not letting Arisu find them in order to keep him alive. Then, Karube at the last 5 seconds letting Arisu know where he was but not looking at him to make sure that Ariso is the one that survives. Man. That was a lot in like 5 minutes for episode 3 out of 8 for just the first season. I did love how Chota and Karube decided to accept that there is no way out and the only person who would survive is the wolf. They reflected on all their good times together. “When I’m with you two, my worries wash away.” Even if on surface level, their friendship seems shallow, in fact, it means more to all of them than they would ever admit.
Aguni dying in the last episode got me choked up for some reason. All he wanted was the pureness and genuine freedom in the world that he is living in, so he stopped what he thought was the craze of killing from his best friend who’s been with him since day 1. And then when he found out that the gun had no bullets in the chamber and Aguni shot him for nothing, that I think is the moment when he replayed that that he decided to sacrifice himself for the greater good. He withstood idek how many bullets, but a lot, just to make sure that the game is able to be complete and no more innocent people die than they already have. Not to mention, he saved Arisu. Wow, the plot twist at the end got me so like…I was hanging off my seat.
Also, the last boss’s story also got me pretty emotional. He wanted to redefine his world and this world of games was the only one where he finally felt free and able to be himself. Him sitting in the fire at the end knowing that he is going to die and accepting it just shows you how much he’s come to terms with the life he lived. He got so much out of this land of games that he’s ready for it all to come to an end.
Chishiya also has so much aura, omg. He is insane. His intelligence is just on another level, I’ve never seen him actually like panic over anything. Wow. Captivating is the best word to describe this season.

Kishi Kishi’s dream and life tutoring
This drama gave me both laughter and romance. It’s not particularly deep, but it absolutely delivers what it promises. I also appreciate how the story handled the relationship between the main characters. They never directly expressed their romantic feelings for each other, which makes sense given their student-teacher dynamic. That boundary could have been uncomfortable or inappropriate, but the show handled it carefully and respectfully, which I really admired. If a second season ever happens, it would be the perfect opportunity to take Toru and Kishi Kishi’s relationship to the next level, especially now that Toru has graduated and is preparing for his college entrance exams by the end of the series.
That said, this show truly shines as a comedy. From the exaggerated delinquent reactions to Toru’s inner monologues. The unexpectedly soft, girly voice was just funny and endearing. The delinquent quartet was also a standout; all of them charming in their own ways. From the sexy mustache guy, to the cute “cucumber” type, to the overly dramatic one. Each character brought something unique to the story. And of course, Kishi Kishi himself is effortlessly good-looking, with an almost angelic presence in both his expressions and gestures.
What I love most about the series is its progression. By the end, we see Toru chasing a newly discovered dream, to become a teacher just like Kishi Kishi. That moment felt touching. Seeing someone inspire a younger person to shape their future like that is genuinely heartwarming.
Throughout the entire show, I felt a sense of positivity. Watching the characters immerse themselves in studying while still learning to enjoy life made the experience feel comforting and uplifting. Rei stood out as a memorable character, and I loved this side of him. The entire cast did a fantastic job, delivering strong performances that elevated the series.
In the end, despite being a light and easy watch, the drama carries meaningful lessons about the importance of studying and finding purpose. It’s a simple story, but one that leaves you feeling good long after it ends.

For dark lovers
I finally managed to watch it and I'm not disappointed. I'm not a fan of cute drama and I had high expectations for this one. Ok, love it. I love dark theme and it is perfect for that! It was really interesting with a slightly unsettling atmosphere. The acting is very good. I'm a fan of this kind of drama, and I'm glad to see Koreans getting interested in it too. I hope they make more that are just as disturbing! If you're not comfortable with kidnapping, rape, and manipulation, avoid it. Otherwise, go for it! I hope to find the actors' names at least xDWas this review helpful to you?
Masterpiece
This is the first time I’m writing a review without having seen all episodes. If I could, I’d give this 11+ stars. I’m not gonna name the obvious perks, like the incredible actors and captivating story line, but I want to emphasize how damn good this cinematography is. not just the visuals, but the battle choreography is… beautiful. I don’t really like using that word for it, but don’t know how else to express it. I have not seen a drama yet that manages to get me invested in the war strategy side. it’s easy to follow but never boring. and the way the battle scenes are cut, it leaves space for emotions. props to the director & team - i need more productions like these. and more dramas with all actors featured. they work so well together. (if anybody has recommendations pls comment)Was this review helpful to you?
"Where Memories and Feelings Quietly Meet Again"
Still Shining is a drama that feels more like a memory than a story. It doesn’t rush to impress or overwhelm—instead, it unfolds slowly, focusing on emotions that are left unsaid and moments that feel almost too real. The drama centers around a reunion between two people who once meant everything to each other. Rather than turning this into a dramatic love story, it keeps things grounded and realistic. Their interactions are quiet, sometimes even awkward, but that’s exactly what makes it believable. There’s a sense of familiarity between them, mixed with distance created by time.
The biggest strength of Still Shining is its mood. The soft visuals, dim lighting, and gentle transitions between past and present create a nostalgic atmosphere. It constantly reminds you of how certain feelings don’t disappear, even if life moves on. The performances, especially from the leads, carry this emotional weight well without overacting.
However, the drama might not work for everyone. The pacing is noticeably slow, and there are moments where it feels like not much is happening. The storyline is simple and doesn’t offer many surprises, which can make it less engaging for viewers who prefer stronger plots. Some supporting characters also feel underused, leaving parts of the story less impactful.
Even with these flaws, Still Shining has a quiet charm. It doesn’t aim to be unforgettable in a dramatic way, but rather in a soft, lingering way. It’s the kind of drama you watch when you want to feel something gentle and reflective.

Maybe not for me
THE GOODThe supporting characters are written in such as way as they are rooting for the main couple, as stand-ins for the audience, and its fun.
Din feels pretty authentic.
THE BAD -- BY EP2
Falling in love happens way too soon. Din has essentially always been "i would die for you" in love with her. And she immediately can tell. We don't get any of the fun flirting and actually falling in love with who a person is.
The "romance" is all just sound effects and drawn out gazing shots. Very little substantial interaction.
One of the FLs is like completely helpless. Multiple scenes are "escalated" just because she acts like a damsel instead of saying something simple like "don't touch me" or "I don't want to go with you". The entire bodyguard angle is also just based on this weird choice "pick between your neighbors who will take care of you" like what, she is a grown ass woman. If she needs security, then go buy / arrange it? Never speaks for herself, and it becomes such an assumed reality that many scenes just come across as if everyone's top priority is catering to her.
That princess dynamic is even more uncomfortable as the secondary characters are all treated like servants and it's weird. And not just that FL's supporting characters, its on both sides. Like your auntie that raised you just being a full time maid for you, when you live alone as a full adult, is crazy work. And all of her labor is taken for granted, just constantly asking her to do trivial things.
The secondary characters constantly give all credit to the leading characters. It is very heavy handed and overused. Just every single thing they do (which is always as servants) is stated out right "I did this but Din was the mastermind".
Antagonists behave like villains for no reason. Pretty much the whole initial premise that there is a threat to be protected from, is just the villain attacking her for absolutely no reason. Their interest is to marry their families and gain ownership of her land. In what way does trespassing in her home, assaulting her servant and ultimately physically forcing her into a car? Not only are those all crimes and they already know cops are watching them, but also she definitely isn't going to marry you if you do that? How does kidnapping her get you the deed to the land? Shouldn't you be romancing her? At least maintaining a cordial relationship so you can maybe buy the land? But no instead just random assaults. That /conveniently/ are not recorded.
It is all only possible because we have to pretend technology is just not an option the whole time. No video security on her farm or home, the only answer is to move in with your gf. Nobody can ever have a phone on them because pulling it out and recording would end these scenes immediately.
In theory she is already working with a cop, and investigating *human trafficking* and is still making zero effort to obtain *evidence* for crimes that we know they will commit with such certainty that we are going to move in together, that Din is going to carry a gun -- so many plotlines are relying on this premise to support. We will do everything but record them doing crime on us.
We ended ep2 with a motorcycle that for whatever reason already tried to run them off the road (so we definitely are on alert), stop in front of them and point a gun at them.............she is driving a car. A pretty big one too. Am I supposed to stop so that you can shoot me and not be run over in the process? What is the thought process of these cartoonish villains.
EP3
2 guys on a motorcycle chase an SUV because... that makes sense at all. Openly demonstrate that they are hostile / trying to kill them. At any point we could have just run them over and this is over. Instead they get in front and shoot at us from like forever away. Again we don't run them over.
They give us a flat I guess? Even with a flat we could run them over, they park right by us, it wouldn't be hard.
We also JUST established that Din keeps a gun on her because of all this stuff. But she gets out of the car with no weapon.
He doesn't shoot her immediately because... he has to say something nonsensical about her asking for it. His lines literally make no sense, and his method of trying to kill her has not made any sense and now he's not doing it so he can say nonsense. Just how many layers of a scene can make no sense?
The answer is at least one more because oh this was all a sting. We just really wanted to arrest a... hired gun for some reason. I guess they will interrogate him into rolling over, at this point I don't know what they can get from him that is worth this "plan" where she VERY EASILY COULD HAVE DIED (and should have, since she didn't run them over). Like damn, bullets were fired, they didn't miss "because you had it under control" you were just lucky. And he had a gun pointed at her in the end, and all it would have taken is 1 squeeze...
Freen walks up "I had it under control" (literally didn't) "I had to wait for him to incriminate himself" (he literally didnt do anything different right before then, he had been pointing a gun at her and shooting the car already)
And destroying any premise that Din is smart. Her plan is to block the antagonists by marrying her first, but she doesn't explain a single thing and just proposes. In what world would she do that? And then to still not have a clue that she skipped explaining something important. At some point you are lying so much that you don't even have a grasp of your partners POV is pretty bad for a romance story. But this is just played for a laugh. A proposal before they even have been open with their feelings at all.
EP4
...who could have predicted that people would expect you to kiss at your wedding. We really are going to act like this is a surprise. And then have a whole conversation about it while people are watching and chanting to kiss... But we did discuss that convincing people it was legit was important (for some reason? i forget)
EP6
We start the ep and a doctor looks at dad with a flashlight once and turns to just say "no, the movement didn't mean recovery it was just". Guess he was very sure immediately.
Yep, continuing to act like they don't have people that want to kill them. Let's sleep in separate buildings alone.
Everyone stop Rose! There is nothing we can do! We have to scream at this building instead of break a window so someone right there can climb out.
Aaaand, Din just appears. Who needs to know how or why! Moving on!
AAAAAA THEY STRAIGHT UP ASK ABOUT SURVEILANCE. Nope! She never bothered to. Despite having multiple attempts on her life. I am dying.
Rose making it all about her. Din was just in a fire, is apparently receiving no medical treatment, and has to facilitate the authorities. And she's still checking on Rose T_T Why is Rose so self absorbed.
hmm we took pictures of some people in hoods ..somewhere. but they just raid the house and of course find nothing. Gee I wonder how they will get out of this. Maybe the lack of any evidence they were involved?

"A Love That Still Shines Through Time"
Still Shining is one of those dramas that quietly stays with you. It doesn’t rely on heavy twists or dramatic storytelling—instead, it builds its strength through emotions, memories, and the idea that some connections never truly fade away. The story follows two people who were each other’s first love in their youth but got separated due to circumstances, only to meet again after many years. Park Jin-young plays a man who has learned to live a simple, steady life, while Kim Min-ju brings warmth and quiet strength to her role. Their reunion isn’t dramatic or explosive—it’s subtle, slightly awkward, and filled with unspoken emotions, which makes it feel more real.
What really works here is the atmosphere. The drama carries a nostalgic tone, constantly shifting between past and present, reminding you of how time changes people but doesn’t erase feelings. The chemistry between the leads feels natural and gentle rather than intense, which suits the story perfectly. Their interactions often rely on silence, small gestures, and lingering looks instead of dramatic confessions.
Visually, Still Shining leans into soft lighting and warm tones, giving it a comforting and slightly melancholic vibe. It feels like watching memories unfold rather than a typical storyline. The OST blends well with this mood, enhancing emotional scenes without overpowering them.
However, the drama isn’t without flaws. The pacing can feel slow, especially if you’re expecting constant progression. At times, it feels like the story is repeating the same emotional beats. The plot itself is quite simple and predictable, and some supporting characters—including roles played by Shin Jae-ha and Park Se-hyun—don’t get as much depth as they could have.
Still, what makes Still Shining special is its sincerity. It doesn’t try to be more than what it is. It’s a story about first love, time, and the quiet hope that some feelings can survive even after years of distance. It may not leave a powerful impact instantly, but it lingers softly, like a memory you revisit.
Overall, it’s a calm and emotional watch—perfect when you’re in the mood for something nostalgic and reflective rather than intense.
