kdrama comfort!

Was I missing a part?

During a live a fan asked if there was abuse in the drama and the FL said no and the ML looked appalled. Yes, there was a lot of toxicity. Her dad seemed like a genuinely kind person and her bio mom was a terrible person. Only taking one child? sheesh. The two leads had good chemistry but I feel like they kept leading up to a scene... that never happened. I liked the aunt and FLs relationship the best of all the dynamics on the show. Still sad about the dad.

A Beautiful, Poetic And Hypnotic Cinematic Masterpiece!

Drowning Love (2016) is a phenomenal, highly artistic, and intensely raw Japanese coming-of-age film that completely captivates your senses. It stands out as a unique visual poem driven by deep symbolism, atmospheric moods, and a destructive adolescent passion.Story (9.5/10):The narrative is abstract, complex, and heavily psychological. Following a successful teen model who moves to a quiet coastal town and falls into an intense, obsessive relationship with a wealthy, wild local boy, the plot avoids all typical romance clichés. Instead of a straightforward storyline, it relies on metaphors of gods, nature, and the trauma of losing innocence. While the confusing editing and artistic ambiguity can leave you scratching your head, the sheer emotional weight of their toxic yet profound bond keeps you completely hooked.Acting & Cast (10/10):Masaki Suda and Nana Komatsu delivered absolute masterclass, iconic performances with an electric, almost dangerous on-screen chemistry. Nana Komatsu perfectly captures the mixture of vanity, vulnerability, and resilience. Masaki Suda is absolute perfection as the untamable, brooding, and fiercely proud Koh. Their intense glances, raw desperation, and silent understanding create a legendary dynamic that feels incredibly visceral and unforgettable.Overall:Drowning Love is a mandatory 10/10 watch for anyone who appreciates breathtaking, high-aesthetic cinematography, legendary main duos, and artistic cinema. Even if the plot leaves you confused, the beautiful and melancholic audio-visual experience will permanently stay in your heart. Highly recommended!

Wow...lol

So yea, that opening scene had my jaw on the floor. And then it just kept getting spicier. Like, WHAT?? Is this the new direction of NC scenes in BL shows because YES. I didn't cringe one time during those scenes and that's saying something. Between the use of music and muted voices, these were done SO well.

The story was also pretty cute. You've got an older guy who clearly likes a younger guy but his history makes him scared to date someone younger (with valid reason). I like the ruse of teaching Jun how to do the deed. Sorn was DOWN BAD for him even though it took a while for him to admit it to himself.

I liked Tai and Champ as well. Such a sweet little side romance. The same for the girls as well. I'm not into WlW as much but I enjoyed their dynamics.

Overall, I liked it alot and can't wait to watch the specials.

Pure Adrenaline and Brutal Action: A Spectacular Revenge Movie!

Demon City (Oni Goroshi) is a phenomenal, fast-paced, and intensely gritty live-action adaptation that completely grips you with its dark, atmospheric crime underworld. It is a high-octane thriller that delivers a powerful, visual masterclass in revenge cinema.Story (10/10):The narrative is a relentless, action-packed journey centered around an ex-hitman who is left for dead and embarks on a bloody path of vengeance against the masked syndicates that ruined his life. What makes this plot so addictive is its raw, unpolished energy. It plunges you straight into a whirlwind of violence, danger, and dark city secrets without giving you a single moment to catch your breath. The pacing is intense and keeps you on the edge of your seat.Acting & Cast (10/10):Toma Ikuta delivered an absolute powerhouse performance. He completely dominates the screen as Shuhei Sakata—bringing a dangerous, brooding charisma and an incredibly sharp, attractive presence that makes him the ultimate badass lead. His fierce protectiveness over his past and his cold, calculating nature during the fight scenes are captivating to watch. The villains and supporting cast also brought a very intense, menacing energy to the film.Production & Action (10/10):The production value is spectacular. The martial arts sequences, gravity-defying stunts, and brutal sword-and-fist choreographies are sharp, visceral, and executed to perfection. The dark, atmospheric cinematography beautifully captures the chaotic spirit of the manga. Paired with a thrilling soundtrack, the entire audio-visual experience is high-energy and unforgettable.Overall:Demon City is a mandatory 10/10 watch for every single enthusiast of dark action, high-stakes revenge plots, and magnetic male leads. It leaves a powerful impact and offers immense rewatch value. Highly recommended!

The Most Adorable Family Romance: Pure Comfort!

Unforgettable Love (2021) is a spectacular, heartwarming modern romantic comedy that stands out as a true masterpiece in the contract-marriage and family-building genre. It delivers pure joy, zero heavy angst, and massive rewatch value.Story (10/10):The plot is an absolute delight, focusing on a cold, calculative CEO of a tech company and a warm, intelligent child psychologist who enter a fake marriage for the sake of the CEO's traumatized son. What makes this story so exceptional is the beautifully smooth and realistic progression from a strict business contract into a deep, genuine family bond. It perfectly satisfies viewers who love the trope of leads becoming parents, dealing with pregnancy/family growth, and creating a safe haven for each other. The pacing is light, comforting, and constantly sweet.Acting & Cast (10/10):Miles Wei and Hu Yixuan delivered phenomenal performances with a highly natural, endearing on-screen chemistry. Hu Yixuan is fantastic as Qin Yiyue—she is smart, incredibly caring, independent, and clear-headed. Miles Wei is perfection as the fiercely protective, alpha CEO who transforms into a loving husband and a green-flag father. However, the absolute star of the show is the child actor playing Xiao Bao. He is incredibly cute, brilliant, and his bonding scenes with both leads will completely melt your heart and move you to tears of happiness.Overall:Unforgettable Love is a mandatory watch for anyone who appreciates smart and healing characters, contract-family dynamics, and a romance that leaves you smiling through every episode. Driven by an elite cast and top-tier comfort vibes, it is a flawless 10/10 show. Highly recommended!

A atuação dele é simplesmente sensacional!

Addictive Dark Romance Driven By A Brilliant Male Lead!

Lighter & Princess (2022) is a spectacular, high-budget, and intensely gripping modern drama that sets a whole new standard for the toxic-to-healing romance genre. It is a thrilling, emotional rollercoaster that keeps you completely hooked from college years to corporate revenge.Story (10/10):The narrative is incredibly sharp, mature, and deeply engaging, blending the competitive world of computer programming with heavy emotional angst and betrayal. It traces the complex transition from university rivalries into a dark, high-stakes battle for corporate justice. What makes this story a true masterpiece is the raw, intense focus on devotion and survival. The pacing is perfect, taking the audience through massive time skips and emotional peaks that will leave you completely breathless.Acting & Cast (10/10):Chen Feiyu delivered an absolute masterclass, career-defining performance. He completely steals the entire show as Li Xun—embodying a cold, arrogant, and fiercely brilliant mastermind whose iconic blond hair and ruthless, protective aura will completely steal your heart. While the Female Lead's submissive, overly devoted nature can be quite polarizing and highly irritating to sit through for some viewers, the sheer power of Chen Feiyu’s performance and the electric, burning hot chemistry between the leads make the entire journey fully worth it.Overall:Lighter & Princess is a mandatory 10/10 watch for anyone who appreciates deeply flawed, protective alpha leads and an intense, passionate romance that defies all odds. Driven by an unforgettable performance from Chen Feiyu and outstanding writing, it is a flawless comfort-angst show with massive rewatch value. Highly recommended!

Super Cringe and Childish but Completely Addictive!

When I Fly Towards You (2023) is a wildly popular, high-budget youth drama that delivers a pure, nostalgic, and incredibly heartwarming slice-of-life experience. It stands out as the ultimate comfort show, even if it embraces heavy doses of high school clichés.Story (9.5/10):The plot is a very gentle, slow-burning coming-of-age story that follows a tight-knit group of high school friends journeying together into university life. It completely avoids toxic misunderstandings, heavy angst, or annoying love triangles. Instead, it focuses entirely on youth, mutual academic support, and healthy relationship growth. While the narrative is undeniably childish and filled with cringe-worthy moments in the early episodes, the pure warmth and the unshakeable loyalty of the squad make the overall experience incredibly delightful and cozy.Acting & Cast (10/10):Zhou Yiran and Zhang Miaoyi delivered fantastic performances with a highly natural, adorable on-screen chemistry. Zhang Miaoyi is great as Su Zaizai, and even though her overly cheerful, loud, and submissive stalking behavior can be quite polarizing and annoying at first, her character's unconditional devotion is what drives the emotional growth of the show. Zhou Yiran is absolute perfection as the quiet, deeply insecure Zhang Lurang. The way he slowly learns to love himself and smiles because of her energy will completely melt your heart.Overall:When I Fly Towards You is a mandatory watch for anyone looking for a stress-free, sweet, and comforting school romance built on mutual growth. Driven by an endearing main duo and amazing squad goals, it is a flawless 10/10 comfort ride with massive rewatch value. Highly recommended!

Angsty, Heartbreaking and Beautiful Childhood Friends BL!

In Your Heart (2022) is a short, independent Chinese BL drama that delivers a massive emotional punch despite its limited runtime. It stands out as a hidden gem in the genre, perfectly capturing the painful, angsty transition from lifelong friends to lovers.Story (9.5/10):The plot is deeply emotional and centered around two childhood friends who have grown up side by side. What makes this story so heartbreakingly compelling is the raw exploration of unrequited love and fear of acceptance. The narrative builds up a heavy, melancholic atmosphere as one lead desperately harbors a deep affection, while the other constantly rejects and pushes him away due to internal confusion and social pressure. While the constant misunderstandings and emotional distance can be deeply saddening to watch, the raw angst keeps you completely hooked and crying through every episode.Acting & Cast (10/10):The main leads delivered highly vulnerable and genuine performances with an elite on-screen chemistry. The portrayal of heartbreak, longing, and the devastating pain of being rejected by your favorite person felt incredibly real. The contrast between Cheng Yi’s unconditional devotion and Ling Zi Ming’s defensive, painful pushing-away creates a highly intense emotional dynamic. Their quiet interactions, hurt glances, and slow-burning tension are the absolute soul of the drama.Overall:In Your Heart is a mandatory watch for every enthusiast of heavy angst and deeply emotional character bonds. Driven by great acting and a beautifully sad storyline that eventually leads to deep healing, it is a flawless 10/10 comfort-sad show with great rewatch value. Highly recommended!

Beautiful and satisfying

It looked good and the dubbing improved after the first few episodes. I personally enjoyed the story and the plotting (although many people online say otherwise). The plotting is easy enough to follow but does get a bit contrived towards the end. Ending was a little satisfactory, I guess. I would've liked more romance.
Acting was honestly very very good. The main leads and the 2 'villains' were absolutely stunning in their acting skill.
Music was a little distracting at times but otherwise good.
Production (with the exception of the dubbing in the first few episodes which got a bit... questionable) was very high. The costumes were absolutely GORGEOUS and pretty accurate of the time period. The sets were pretty good.
I thought the chemistry between the leads was incredible! I loved watching their cooperation and how they supported each other. This was my first drama with the male lead but I'll keep an eye out for more of his dramas from now on.

A Heartbreaking and Raw Masterpiece of Pure Devotion!

Better Days (2019) is a phenomenal, raw, and deeply devastating cinematic masterpiece that grips your soul from the very first minute. It is an incredibly powerful exploration of school bullying, societal pressure, and the desperate cry for survival.Story (10/10):The narrative is exceptionally well-written, gritty, and brutally realistic. It follows a heavily bullied high school student preparing for the gaokao exams and a young street thug who becomes her protector. The plot doesn't sugarcoat anything—it showcases the terrifying dark side of human nature and peer cruelty. What makes this film a supreme masterpiece, however, is the profound emotional weight of its romance. It is a slow-burn story about two lonely souls finding a safe haven in each other, leading to a level of unconditional sacrifice and devotion that will completely tear your heart apart. The pacing is intense and flawless.Acting & Cast (10/10):Zhou Dongyu and Jackson Yee delivered absolute masterclass, historical-level performances. Their on-screen chemistry is legendary and intensely electric. Zhou Dongyu is breathtaking, bringing raw vulnerability and immense quiet strength to Chen Nian. Jackson Yee is absolute perfection as Xiao Bei, embodying a rough, morally grey street boy who turns into the most fiercely protective, devoted male lead you will ever see. His willingness to sacrifice everything, defy the law, and bear any pain just to protect her future is so profoundly moving it will make you cry a river.Overall:Better Days is a mandatory 10/10 watch that leaves a permanent mark on your heart. Driven by elite performances, a brilliant script, and a tragic yet intensely beautiful love story built on ultimate protection, it is an unforgettable masterpiece. Absolute perfection!
