One of the most underrated GLs of the year deserves more attention

Three episodes in and I'm already attached to these two.....I was anticipating the trope like " Human falls for a robot" but it is much more charming and deep. Its a story about loneliness and companionship where you let a special someone in your life. What hooked me is not only the AI concept but also the chemistry which is off the charts. We all have met someone like Gen who are awkward ,quiet and a little lost. Then Ai comes and literally changes her life into a more meaningful one. The series also does a nice job balancing comedy with emotional moments. One minute you're laughing because of Ai's innocent behavior, and the next you're thinking about Gen's loneliness. The pacing has also been solid though we only have 7 episodes...saddddd. Then we have Irene who is watching every move of Ai. She might fall in love with Gen through Ai's eyes....thats poetic lol.

Of course, with only three episodes released, it's still too early to judge the overall story. The biggest challenge will be maintaining the quality and delivering a satisfying conclusion. However, based on what's been released so far, the series has exceeded my expectations like Love Beyond Dreams. Can we have a little cameo of Rann and P'Le pls.

If you're looking for a GL that's a little different from the usual college or office romances, I'd definitely tell u to give AI Girl a chance. It has heart, it's genuinely entertaining, and after only couple of episodes, I'm already invested in where this story is going.

Now comes the hardest part... waiting for next episodes.

Awful plotline and the development of it is worse

I understand the synopsis, but it's illogical to try and sell me a love story between the characters we think are the protagonists, only for one of them to die in the most unexpected way possible, and then reveal that the real love interest was always the protagonist's childhood friend. If they wanted it to be a reunion story, they could have easily done so. There was no need to saddle us with a romantic subplot that went nowhere, and then, more than halfway through the series, try to replace one of the main characters. Ultimately, it's one of the worst BL plots I've ever seen.

As a novel reader, I am pretty satisfied with this adaptation!

⚠️ I am about to spoil the whole series so, if you haven’t watched it yet please do scroll to another review ⚠️

First thing first, I would like to thank everyone that’s involved in this series including all actors, producers, directors, and all teams behind the scenes!! It’s been a great months of me enjoying the series. My eyes are blessed with their COLOR GRADING!!! They’re very confident with it and YES they better be because that is one of the most outstanding traits of this show. But somehow, it’s truly a new type of show I guess, we are having this ‘daily life’ storyline where the leads are a bar owners who are kinda ‘unique’ to the point that they named the bar as “ChermChey”. Met during their heartbroken trip and end up being the lovers of their life 🥰

This big plot is pretty clear and neat. Now, we gotta move on to how’d that simple and clean plot turns into a 10 EP of a series?
1. The bar owner supposedly was Eung only (along with his ex), but as he got to know Intha, they decided to be a business partner whereas Intha invest and manage things financially (well, cleaning the bar after the closing is mandatory 😁😁 your man instruct you, you can’t refuse) while Eung manages the operation of the bar as in paying attention to everything regarding the business. - This plot went pretty quick, as they didn’t really show us much about the renovation and stuff… they mostly show us them buying groceries for restocking -
2. Intha move in to the bar actually needs a longer explanation (for someone who has trust issues… the pace for this part is too fast… 😁😁 but it’s nothing impossible) but this is the second details that supposedly need some attention
3. The relationship development of InthaEung for sure 🥰🥰🥰 them living their lives, rebuilding their bar that I’d call it as their love nest, problem solving, hyping their relationship and keeping it as strong as it can (I surely love this plot as they introduce me to their relationship dynamic. I’d say I have seen A LOT of ‘hyper and extra’ couple in novels but turning it into a live action show is another story and I think ChermChey did it pretty well tho -I personally haven’t really watched another series that bluntly show how ‘extra’ they are, mostly implicitly or letting audience’s imagination do the magic)
4. Well Bomb and Athen as the side couple was briefly presented in the series [yet if I didn’t read the novel I’d have no idea about the relationship of Eung, Nok, Bomb, and Athen]

Those four point alone was enough to make a 10 EP series… I do have some notes regarding several scenes tho:
- Athen ordering his boys to ruin Eung’s bar (we didn’t get the dialogue for this so… -just a mere phone call scene without a full convo- we just can guess)
- The inexistence background of Intha giving that bottle opener necklace to Eung makes it seems ‘ceremonial’… or to put it bluntly ‘out of nowhere’,,, if I didn’t read the novel I wouldn’t know the context -that’s for sure
- The flashback scene during Intha’s silence (I can feel the emotions in his expression but it didn’t match the montage)… I believe it would’ve been more ‘organized’ if there’s a fighting scene of Eung with the dudes that tries to ruin their store… (I understand that in terms of production this scene would’ve take a lot of time and money but, I believe this scene is necessary tho) - but as In said in the diary, he’s worried of Eung’s wellbeing… and I believe that ‘fight’ scene scene is definitely necessary!
- I wonder why didn’t we have a single hospital scene?? Bomb was hit by that wrench soo I believe he needs some stitches and changing Eung’s plot after the fire into a drunkard doesn’t really help cuz they still use the scene where Intha was reminding Eung to drink his medicine -where’d this come from?- (I believe either they rearrange the novel or there’s an issue during the filming process)
- I saw a comment asking why there’s a mermaid scene in this series (out of nowhere) I’d say it’s fair as they didn’t show us the context when Eung said that he dreamt about going to a beach for trip along with Intha (additional context… he get to wore a mermaid suit there, so Intha bought one for him and surprise him during their stay at In’s house)
- Hmm,,, that scene in the last ep about odd days and even days… they’re actually talking about taking turn washing dishes and cleaning up… we didn’t have that context in the series so it might be confusing
- And don’t even talk about that pink duvet… god know what made it need an immediate laundry… 🤭🤭

I love their acting, chemistry and all…but those plot needs a bit revision I believe^^
I’m not the type that’s obsessed in NC so I actually find it having a ‘proper amount’…

P.S. I seriously wanna know the interior of this bar as I really can’t picture the structure based on all the shots taken… Is there anyone that can illustrate it?
And I really can’t tell the difference between daytime and nighttime in some scenes…

These plot holes could be a good marketing way to buy the novel 😁😁😁

A Drama I Didn’t Expect to Love

I wasn’t planning on watching Key to the Phoenix Heart, but I’m so glad I decided to give it a chance. It completely surprised me and became such an addictive watch.
Minghao Hou and Mi Ai aren’t really my favourites based on their previous works, but both of their acting is honestly 10/10. Their chemistry is amazing, and they bring so much life to the story.
The plot is one of the biggest highlights for me — it’s engaging, fast-paced, and keeps you hooked. I also love the music; it adds so much to the overall atmosphere of the drama.
I’m really enjoying it so far and I’m looking forward to the next episodes!😍

The Drama I Almost Gave Up On Became One of My Favourites

When The First Frost first came out, I tried watching the first episode but ended up dropping it. A few months later, I decided to pick it up again, and I honestly can't believe I almost missed out on this beautiful drama.
The First Frost is one of the most emotionally intense dramas I've watched. It’s full of angst, longing, heartbreak, and healing, but every painful moment feels worth it. It’s the kind of slow-burn romance that quietly pulls you in until you realise you’re completely invested.
Bai Jing Ting and Zhang Ruo Nan were incredible. Their chemistry, the atmosphere, and the soundtrack created such a beautiful and melancholic feeling. I especially loved seeing Wen Yifan’s journey of healing and Sang Yan’s unwavering support. He is such a rare type of male lead — patient, emotionally mature, and deeply caring.
What made this drama special was seeing both perspectives. You understand their fears, their misunderstandings, and why their love takes time to grow. Their story is heartbreaking, but also incredibly warm and comforting.
I'm so glad I gave The First Frost a second chance because it became a drama that stayed with me.

Parem de tratar comédias com seriedade.

​Um dorama maravilhoso que entrega exatamente o que promete: fantasia e comédia.É muito fácil de assistir e o elenco é cheio de atores talentosos.
​O que mais me chamou atenção, e que eu acho que diferencia essa série de outras do mesmo estilo, foi o desenvolvimento dos personagens. O roteiro não tem medo de usar os vilões. No começo eles parecem meio caricatos, mas conforme a história vai passando, a gente entende as carências daqueles filhos que falharam, mas sem tirar a culpa deles. Não é só uma comédia boba, é uma história que usa a fantasia para falar sobre dinâmicas familiares tóxicas.
​Agora, uma coisa que me irrita muito, todo mundo tem o direito de criticar o que não gosta, mas as pessoas precisam criticar em cima do que a série se propõe a ser. Não aguento mais ver resenha reclamando que um dorama onde um velho troca de corpo com um garoto de 20 anos "não é realista". Faça-me o favor né? Eles literalmente trocam de corpo e a sua preocupação é que não faz sentido o cara saber tanto de economia e ninguém desconfiar?
​dorama é só um termo guarda-chuva para produções asiáticas, não é um gênero tipo comédia ou suspense. Parem de exigir que comédias leves, que só querem divertir, tenham a profundidade de melodramas cheios de trauma, morte e depressão.

這是一部改編小說的作品，講述天主教會中聖召青年班的故事，也充分展現Fourth、Gemini恰到好處的演技，而前者內心轉變和狀態極其精準，慾望、困惑、愛慕、篤信、天人交戰....

編劇巧妙避開聖經中被習以為常引述用以指責同性戀的經節，而重新以「愛」和本身討論，上帝的愛、聖母與聖子之間的愛、約瑟和童貞女瑪利亞的愛、同性的愛、父母子女的愛、夫婦的愛....而這些愛不一定都是全然神聖的，有時混雜私慾有時混雜暴力，甚至是毀滅。

資優生Tanrak和新轉入的中輟生Barth相愛，在前往聖職的路上勢必成為阻礙，神父和環境都在暗示，有些愛躲躲藏藏，是背離天主。從起始Tanrak內心爭奪不休，他是父母早亡，一心相信父母在上主身邊，他只想知道自己還能不能上天堂。

而Barth則對這種迷信嗤之以鼻，並非來自異教者的習慣，而是成長與天主教家庭中，父親家暴母親，向上帝的祈求從未被聽見。最終，探望因失手殺死父親的母親，母親還是愛慕天主，得到母親「我比愛上帝更愛你」的許可後，Barth藉由母親的愛，重新燃起對上帝的愛。

兩人逃出教會，前往掃墓，遇見Tanrak父親的國中同學，一個天主教徒，昔日也曾在聖召班，卻出來了，遂其心願轉了性別。她說，神一樣會愛著。曾以為出逃教會和愛上同性、轉變性別是背棄神，其實神從來都不會放棄自己的孩子。

於是故事收在多年後情侶回去探望神父，如同上帝的懷抱，神父與兩人相抱，在最後昔日同窗晉鐸的講道中，說出信、望、愛中，愛才是一切的基礎。而愛，正是主角Tanrak的小名rak。

註解：
關於「逆性的情慾」究竟是什麼歷代的神學家有不同的討論，並非皆認為是屬同性性行為，亦有認為係要與廟妓濫交、手淫、放縱情慾、體外射精等等，而索多瑪滅城原因，不只有同性欲行淫的說法，亦有欲強淫天使、欲強淫遠來之客等等不同說法。

又補：
導演P'Aof本身即是天主教徒，亦是同志。又2007年《愛在暹羅》亦是拉扯著天主教信仰與同性愛之間的關係，而2026的背景終究讓故事從兩人必須分開到兩人可以在一起。巧妙的是飾演Barth 媽媽的Nok,在愛在暹羅裡飾演Tong的媽媽，一樣都是虔誠的天主教徒，一樣是對子女的愛。而P'Aof又將導演愛在暹羅舞台劇版，也會是Fourth、Gemini 一起擔綱這個泰腐的經典之作。

BOMBLASTIC!

Damn bro! If you haven't watched it yet, what are you doing? If you are a romance lover and an action hater, this is not for you. But if you find the approach of justice through manhandling satisfying, this is made just for you!

The story is episodic, which means it goes from one case to another and other than the main storyline and cast, the story and surroundings change completely. I didn't know about it at first and so I really worried what was happening, seeing how fast paced the first episode was. This is my first experience of case after case kind of show. I enjoyed it. Each story had a topic that was relevant to the present times, though exaggerated. The messages conveyed were thought provoking. And most importantly, I loved the idea of justice being served by the adults and not the students themselves. Because that has been the current cool trend after all (pisses me off).

Kim Muyeol is aura himself 😂🤌 His screen presence and performance are so mind blowing. A standing ovation is a must! I loved how so many people, especially male audience who usually judge Korean actors, love him and his acting. I came across so many who don't watch dramas recommend me this show. The feeling was great 🥹 Lee Sungmin as Minister of education was a wonderful casting. The way he handled each case with such seriousness is amazing. But most importantly, we have a green forest father-in-law. God! Every man deserves a father-in-law like him 😭🤌 Jin Kijoo as Im Hanrim is a lovely crazy character. Over the top in the best way. Last but not the least, P.O. as Bong Geundae was also amazing. I really liked the bickering between Hanrim and Geundae. Adorable!

One thing I'd say is by the end you get used to it. Well, that's not necessarily boring or a drawback. Just the new normal. Also felt they were out of new topics. The drug usage thing was reused twice or thrice with just slight alterations.

Musically, it had a quirky upbeat Chihuahua that just wouldn't get out of my head 😂 It fits the show perfectly!

Altogether, the pacing, acting, story and concept were all wonderful. This drama deserves all the hype it receives. I would definitely rewatch it as a guilty pleasure 😁 Highly recommended 👍👍👍

Only for fans of Tan Jian Ci

Tan Jianci is the only reason to watch this show. You can listen to the OST on music streaming services. Wang Chu Ran is a mediocre actress. She has zero chemistry with any of her leading men, including Tan Jian Ci. She cannot perform at his level and is the same as in her other shows. But the issue with this show is over all - the Story. The secondary romance is very, very cringe. The 2ML stalks the 2FL for most of the show. His mother is also stalkerish. So the romance comes off as very creepy and one wonders why on earth the 2FL would fall for him at all. But magic resolutions are the halmark of this production. The primary romance takes 30 of 32 episodes to resolve and once the pair are together, all plot lines are also magically resolved. There are some very, very sexist and gender biased plots and commentary in the show which are disturbing. Tan Jian Ci tries to soften the presentation of some his more cringe dialogue, but he can't save the over all plot.

Bromance is superior to BL ✋️

Bromance is superior to BL - End of discussion ✋️ This series is yet another one that proves that point.

If you won't watch Wu because you're afraid of horror, let me tell you as someone who has extremely low horror tolerance, this has little to no horror at all. So don't worry about that. The entire magic, witchcraft thing can be handled with ease.

I loved the idea and the story telling. The animation and special effects used were of good quality and adds to the visual appeal. The pacing is well done with almost no plot holes. Acting is good enough too. I would say Nani is better off being the top than the bottom (hope you understand the point even if it's not a BL). But yes, both Sky and Nani presented a good performance. Godji also did a very good job.

The entire Chinese thing was a bit too much 😂 Yes, we are all reading subtitles so it doesn't make a big difference but still. Was it needed? I don't think so 😅

Loved the song Destiny by FLIO. The instruments blessed my ears 🥹

Ya, was waiting for it to finish airing to watch it together, and it didn't disappoint me. I enjoyed the watch.

Park Bo Young's most harrowing work to date

Park Bo Young was cast as Heeju because her image was the total opposite. Director Kim Sunghoon described her as a kind and ordinary person, someone who wouldn't steal, so it was paramount that she distance herself from that image in order to portray this character. Heeju isn't likable, but the audience can sympathize with her. She makes a lot of frustrating decisions, borne out of desperation and greed, but she's fascinating to watch. Her tenacity is shocking, the lengths she's willing to go to in order to keep the gold. She'll even give up her own life, because to her, death is preferable to a miserable existence. The only existence she's ever known, beginning with her childhood of neglect. She steals from thieves and murderers, outwits them at every turn, and still keeps her humanity. An exceptional performance.

Potensial, tapi–

Menarik karena mereka punya pandangan yang berbeda tentang takdir. Umumnya orang berpendapat bahwa kematian termasuk takdir yang tidak bisa diubah, tapi di dalam cerita ini takdir yang tidak bisa diubah justru adalah pertemuan dan perasaan mereka satu sama lain.

Ide utama cerita ini sangat potensial. Dua episode pertamanya sangat manis dan berkesan. Beberapa episode berikutnya juga masih oke, sampai terjadinya time looping. Buatku 16 episode itu terlalu banyak untuk alur sesederhana ini. Konsep time travel-nya sendiri bagiku kurang diterangkan dengan baik. Beberapa karakter juga menurutku sangat disayangkan ditampilkan tidak cukup dalam, sehingga terkesan hanya pernak-pernik.

Pengalaman yang menarik untuk menyaksikan romansa, komedi, dan fantasi dalam satu drama. Original Soundtracknya keren parah, dan SHOUT OUT TO ECLIPSE! It reminds me a lot of Watermelon Sugar ♡
