That “why we fall” quote…
… is actually an old one used in one of the live-action Batman epies. The full quote is:‘Alfred: "Why do we fall sir?"
Bruce: "...So that we can learn to pick ourselves up?"
Alfred: "No, it's gravity, you should have stayed in school."
Notice the “pick ourselves up” line is offered as a cute, seemingly wise (or witty) answer.
Still funny, albeit I always considered the Batman series lame, or corny.
I’ll submit my full review when i finish this intriguing serial.

It had potential
This story had a lot of potential, but they wasted it. I think they just didn't have enough time to bring it to full potential. The visuals were great, there was no music, only a bit of background sounds.
They made one big mistake with filming. When they are eating noodles in episode 2, the noodle cup from the grim reaper opens and closes when the filming angle changes..
Kwak Geon Hee is a good actors, he is very good with showing emotions. Kan Hyeon Bae was ok, but not great. And the other two were just too flat in their acting. Lee Hyeon Jun showed no emotions at all, but that's no different from him IRL, in Hisman he also never showed emotions. If he can't show emotions, he shouldn't act.
At least the kisses were good.
It's not a bad watch, so if you have an hour to spare just go and watch it.

Not Typical BL ,Yet Classic
This series is far from your typical BL drama. It is a brilliant slow-burn that prioritizes deep, meaningful character development—not just for the leads, but for the entire ensemble. The story, which begins with Ryu’s journey and concludes with Johan’s, is nothing short of beautiful. What makes this series so compelling is the undefined nature of their relationship; it adds a layer of authenticity that is rare to find. The show proves that a narrative does not need forced romantic tropes to be profound. Instead, it offers a raw, quiet intimacy that feels perfectly earned by the plot. It is, quite simply, a classic.

A true classic
As an avid cdrama watched who has watched over 100 cdramas, I have been constantly told to watch the untamed, a highly rated drama that almost every true cdrama watcher has watched. Finally, last week, I succumbed to the hype and watched this drama and I am glad to say that it did not disappoint!!As a note, I did not read the novel and did very minimal digging before watching!
Before I talk about the many positives of the drama, I would like to talk about the negatives, which is only that the beginning was a little boring and slow. At first when they transitioned from the present to 16 years before I kept thinking when would it switch back cause the past wasn't interesting, but in reality as I watched, I started to understand how everything builds up and was especially picked for you to see, building and building until you understand exactly what led to the present and what might happen later in the show. Its like a giant spider web, full of connections and very intricate and interesting!
Despite how boring the beginning was, I pushed through and I was glad I did because it only got more interesting and better. The plot being overall very decent and actually kind of reminded me of mysterious lotus casebook. Overall, plot is interesting though can be predictable and cliche especially if you have watched many cdramas.
What truly made this show were the characters. The actors (especially Xiao Zhan and Wang Yi Bo!) really outdid themselves brining these characters to life. the relationships between them, their emotions, their experiences are all so touching. My heart broke for Wei Wu Xian most of the show! and as many others I loved the dynamic between WWX and LZ. Though I understand the original novel is BL, i see their dynamic in the show as soulmates, not romantically, as friends, with a bond so strong and pure it is honestly so beautiful, a kind of emotion i have only really found in cdramas.
After watching the drama, I researched a bit on the show and was honestly so sad to see that a beautiful friendship between XZ and WYB was destroyed because of how crazy nations can be in China; they deserve so much better as professionals who delivered such an extraordinary performance on screen!
I also want to focus on the OST, i loved the music, especially when LZ was singing in the cave. The theme song was very catchy, and was a beautiful duet between XZ and WYB. Will be listening to this on the bus!
Overall, it was a very nice drama to watch, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Do give this a watch!

Everything about this is wonderful
From the moment I started watching I was captivated. From the acting to the plot line, from heartbreaking sadness through to betrayal and manipulation. Utter joy to deep love, from tears of sadness to chuckles of laughter, from the production values to the OST. All capped off with an emotional and poignant ending and then a ‘what if’ version of 16 years earlier that was so poignant but still managed to make me smile.Bravo.
The story follows Fan Chengyu, an orphaned girl who follows in her father’s footsteps and becomes a pig butcher to make ends meet and support her much younger sister. One day she finds a man, Yan Zheng, who’s dying in the snow and the story follows them on their journey of discovery and as they turn the world upside down.
Stand out performances: Zhang Linghe as Yan Zheng and Tian Xi Wei who played Fan Chengyu were dynamite together, every scene together a masterclass in chemistry.
Deng Kai as Qi Min a sociopathic monster whose ending broke my heart.
Snow Kong who plays the ethereal Yu Qianqian with a mysterious past that only Qi Min picks up on.
The fierce Princess Royal and her lover Gongsun Jin.
The adorable Mr & Mrs Zhao.
The cute and believable kids.
Grannie Kang.
The puppet emperor.
The Northwest Pig Butcher Squad…
the list goes on
I’m not going to say any more as you need to watch this yourself
Would I watch it again? Absolutely - the last chapter is so incredible that I may have already watched it a couple of times just to make sure I haven’t missed anything and every time my heart aches for the most misunderstood and abused character of all.

A Beautiful Glimpse into Kazakh Life
To the Wonder is one of those dramas that feels less like a story and more like a glimpse into someone else's life. More than anything, I watched it for its breathtaking scenery. The vast grasslands, mountains, forests, flower fields, and summer pastures are absolutely beautiful, but the real beauty lies in the simple lives of the people who call this place home. What I loved most was getting a small window into Kazakh culture and traditions. From the language and festivals to the food and nomadic lifestyle, everything felt natural and authentic rather than something put on for the camera. It was refreshing to see a Chinese drama focus on an ethnic minority and show both the beauty of their traditions and the challenges of preserving them in a changing world.
The story itself is quiet and simple. There aren't huge plot twists or over-the-top conflicts. Instead, it follows ordinary people trying to live, love, chase their dreams, and make difficult choices. Every character feels believable because their struggles are so relatable. The romance is gentle and understated. It never tries to steal the spotlight, but grows naturally alongside the characters.
The cinematography deserves special praise. The natural lighting, wide landscapes, and warm colors make every scene feel like a painting. I also appreciated that the drama didn't rely on heavy beauty filters, allowing the scenery and the people to feel real. At times, I genuinely forgot I was watching a drama and felt like I was experiencing a documentary.
It was also nice hearing familiar references to Islamic traditions and festivals like Eid al-Adha. Even though some cultural differences surprised me at first, it was interesting to see how another Muslim community practices its traditions in its own way.
If I had one complaint, it's that the drama is simply too short. This easily could have been a full-length series. I wanted to spend more time with these characters, see more of their lives after the ending, and explore even more of this beautiful world.
To the Wonder isn't a drama you watch for suspense or fast-paced storytelling. You watch it to slow down, appreciate nature, experience another culture, and spend time with characters who feel wonderfully human. By the end, it genuinely made me think that living away from the city, despite its hardships and limited resources, might not be such a bad life after all. It is a quiet, heartfelt, and unforgettable journey.

Beautiful character writing
**a fine example of what Good writing can do for a drama**I wrote this review somewhere during the first 10 episodes and honestly it has superceded those initial thoughts in that the writing is consistently good and viewing experience got better with every episode. Increasing the rating for obvious reasons.
Love feels like this.
Road to Success is calming and endearing, ml, fl and students have a respectful camaraderie. The story is not new but is heart touching. Both ML and FL are mature and live life with a balanced kind of seriousness and lightness as adults we all aspire towards with age.
I commend the writers for allowing viewers to witness such types of characters.
There are many good dramas airing right now, but this one has slowly whisked away my heart with its simplicity and consistency. I found myself looking forward to the episodes for this one more than the others without realizing it until now.

Let’s call it a Family/Romance drama
It’s honestly not bad. Yes, it is a family drama, but as someone coming from a Hispanic family (IYKYK), I actually liked the dynamic of this family. The mom wasn’t annoying or anything to me (just a bit dramatic) but I liked the pace of the drama and the conversations between them. The romance is there! Don’t skip it thinking there won’t be any romantic scenes when there are. The FL and ML have chemistry and I loved how the relationship grows once ML gets closer to Mai family :)
I do have to say the last 3 episodes were not as necessary. I finished them because I wanted to see the end, but I just think the drama could’ve ended sooner.
Overall: 7.5 or 8/10. It’s not the best out there but it’s not THAT bad. It’s a nice mix of a family going through changes, learning, and a nice romance forming in between.

Light with just a touch of mystery
This is an easy little drama to binge if you're looking for something light, not too serious, romantic but fresh, with just a touch of mystery involved. And from personally experience, it was perfect for when you're sick in bed and don't want to think too much but needed something entertaining to watch. It's longer and more in depth than the vertical dramas while not being too long so I could finish in just a few days.Storyline itself was interesting enough to get me going to the next episode but it's nothing award winning. I likely wouldn't watch this again as I didn't find anything particularly captivating at any point in the story. None of the romance scenes gave me enough butterflies to rewind to and nothing was funny enough to rewatch and giggle to myself at. The fake over the top romance was what i saw in the previews that got me interested but that funny bit didn't last long, maybe an episode at most, so that was unfortunate.
Watch if you really got nothing else to do and crushing don't get your expectations up too high for it.

2 hot leads, but that's about it.
The storyline itself sounded quite interesting at first ; a grim reaper who only has 5 days to find and bring back the person as instructed to the Underworld, only for a mishap and ig attraction-at-first-sight getting in the way. However the story went from being slowish, to suddenly very fast from the end of episode 4 to 6, with 6 being egregious in that sense. Little plot branches growing all over the place, and a random plot twist with one of the characters turning out to be a fugitive (only to be overpowered and defeated laughably easily). The kissing/intimate scenes while eye candy and cute (imo), Hyunjun's acting (if one could call it that) felt more like him being himself, Hyeonbae's acting was actually not that bad for a beginner (if I'm not mistaken) (though his character seemed a bit too timid).
All in all, 10/10 visuals, a rushed and somewhat incoherent storyline and progression, coupled with so and so chemistry and acting, and it's mostly one that would be a feast for the eyes, but not one where it's engaging enough for someone to wanna watch it again (unless u like the scene of Jihan, Hyeonbae's character, and Hyunjun kissing).

I could've sworn that things couldn't get any funnier after the first movie, but I was wrong. I really started to like the writing and direction in this movie, like all the comedic timing was very on point. For some reason, unlike the first movie... Tang Seng this time was played by an older actor, which was a stark contrast Zhang He's portrayal of Tang Seng in the first movie. But I suppose that's what makes the whole interaction between Tang Seng and the amnesiac Sun Wukong even funnier.
Like the first movie, there would be the occasional fourth wall breaking. And we get to see a how the relationship between Princess Iron Fan and Sun Wukong could've progressed in a different setting.

love the drama
Bruh... the tension between them is so thick you can literally feel it through the screen. Every time they're together, its so good,Their chemistry is just insane, and it's one of those rare pairings that feels completely natural instead of forced.
This show is honestly so good. I'm already hooked after the first few episodes and I just need more.
The visuals are absolutely gorgeous. Every scene looks so pretty, from the lighting and colors to the sets and costumes. You can tell a lot of care went into making everything look beautiful. It almost feels like you're watching scenes straight out of the novel.
The music is another thing I love. It fits every moment perfectly and makes all the emotional and romantic scenes hit even harder. It really adds to the overall vibe of the drama.
The acting is amazing too.
As someone who read the novel, this adaptation honestly feels like reading the book all over again. It keeps the same emotions and atmosphere that made me love the highly dramatic ahh story in the first place.
obsessed with the show waiting fr the twist of the novel
Everything about this drama just works. The acting, the chemistry, the visuals, the music, the emotions nothing feels out of place. It pulls you into the story so easily that before you know it, the episode is over and you're already waiting for the next one.
I'm completely invested already, and I honestly can't wait to see what's coming next. Give me the next episode already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quite a hidden gem
The story surprised me a little with how it went. Poor Yasu being gaslit and tortured by the old lady and Yuki was really heartbreaking to watch, especially when his siblings keep saying he's gone crazy and that he'd be better off in an institution just because of his disability. He feels helpless and even with pretty obvious wounds no one does anything to stop it. This really stuck with me.However with the turn the story takes from there it turns into a more classic japanese horror film. Without spoiling anything, I thought the ending was a little meh, they could've been done without the last 10 mins or so, but I get where they were going. Overall it was plenty gory and suspenseful, I can definitely recommend it.
Another thought:
This film made me realise how little disability representation there is in jhorror. While yes, there are some characters at the centre of the plot that have a disability, I wish there was some more representation. Like in this example, Yasu is excluded from a normal life, only going on walks at night, staying inside his room all day, his family not prioritising his needs, and even talking about institutionalising him behind his back. It's heartbreaking, but I assume quite close to reality for some people. While blind people, siamese twins and disfigured babies that die during childbirth are a common occurrence in asian horror in general, similar to LGBTQIA+, I'd love to see more diverse characters in new jhorror films to come. Seeing how a weelchair-bound person deals with everyday life while also having unique weaknesses (like not being able to just escape the house on foot) bring many new opportunities for horror. Anyways, just a thought that came up while I watched this film, since Yasu is the main character and I was really intrigued to see the usual jhorror agenda being explored through the lense of a disabled person.
If you read this and have watched some jhorror with disability representation, feel free to drop the title in the comments, I'd love to add it to my watchlist

Too early for a rating but so far so good!
Stellar casting, great acting, an intriguing story, and a genuinely capable female lead. Right up my alley. So far so good at episode 5 and while I'm enjoying it, the pacing feels completely off. It almost feels like ten vertical dramas stitched together into a single episode. There's barely any time for backstory or for the tension to build before we're thrown into what should be major, climactic moments. The result is that I haven't had the chance to truly love or hate any of the characters because the story rushes from one dramatic reveal to the next. Every episode feels like an extended trailer rather than a fully told chapter. Maybe the writers are trying to squeeze hundreds of novel chapters into the opening episodes, but if that's the case, when does the story finally slow down, breathe, and let us go on the journey with these characters? Will be updating this review.
