Thai Skins — ambitious, messy, and a little too much of everything

Thai Skins. That's genuinely the best way I can describe it, and I mean that as both a compliment and an explanation for why I ended up skipping large chunks of it.
There's a lot going on here — multiple couples, overlapping storylines, drama upon drama — and at some point I simply lost the thread. Not because the show is bad exactly, but because the ensemble is so large that I never got close enough to anyone to really care. When you're spread that thin across that many characters, emotional investment becomes difficult to sustain.
FirstKhaotung have their moments and I can see why people connect with them. But for me personally, nothing stuck. The overall feeling is diffuse — I watched it without ever being fully in it, and by the time I decided to stop, I didn't feel like I was missing much. I couldn't tell you honestly whether I'd go back for any of the pairs.
Sometimes a show tries to give you everything and ends up giving you not quite enough of anything. For me, this was one of those times.

Cheesy, self-aware fun — with one personal reservation

I had a genuinely good time with this one. It's silly, it's dramatic, it doesn't take itself seriously for a single second — and that's exactly why it works. Pond as an over-the-top mafia boss living fully inside his own telenovela, Phuwin as the sweet photographer caught in the chaos. The roles fit them perfectly and the whole thing just flows.
My one personal sticking point is with PondPhuwin as a couple specifically. In their everyday dynamic — the banter, the warmth, the little moments — I believe them completely. But when it comes to kiss and intimate scenes, something shifts for me. Phuwin in particular sometimes reads as not entirely present, and that's a hard thing to overlook when you're watching two people who are otherwise so comfortable together. I don't think it's something you can force, no matter how well you know someone. It doesn't ruin the series for me, but I noticed it enough to mention it.
Everything else though? Pure fun. Exactly the kind of light, joyful watch I didn't know I needed.

8/10 Great ~20 minute stories

There are quite a lot of short series that fall short of good ratings from me, mainly because they fail at telling whole stories in a satisfying and impactful way given the small amount of time they have for each episode. This series however, was not one of them.
- The first story was...admittedly boring for me, but the second and third one's were very interesting to watch.
- The second one had a unique plot twist at the end which I didn't really expect, and the third one was just HEARTBREAKING. The way it ended was just so.... I gasped, I cried, and then I moved on to the 4th story Imao. BUT IT WAS GOOD!
- The fourth one felt the most like a normal drama. It was also a nice change of pace after witnessing the 3rd story's ending, and as the finale to the series as a whole, it was quite satisfying.
- Oh, normal review stuff: the camerawork was honestly pretty top tier, the acting was phenomenal, and the concept/ storylines were also well written. Blah blah blah - But anyways, YES! I highly recommend this if you're looking for a mini series to watch. It's one of the best ones 1 personally ever viewed.

Could be better

It is a shame. The poor guy acted almost alone in this drama. The story is interesting but the acting not really.
The kissing scenes were a little awkward too, no chemistry between the two protagonista. They had more chemistry behind the scenes.
Even with few cast members this could be better made.
And they rushed the episodes so maybe this also played a big roll on the poor development of this drama.
The ending was so sudden that i was surprised. Yes this could definitily be made way better. A shame indeed.

most satisfying kdrama in a while

seriously, i love the topic that they tackled in this show, it is truly such an important thing to talk about. not only the korean education system but education systems all around the world continue to fail both students and teachers systematically.

yes, it's utterly far-fetched that such an organisation would be possible, the 'human-rights' arguments would probably always outweigh that possibility, them having the ability to pass through so many legal loopholes in being able to use violence against students and so on. but it's still so satisfying seeing what the bullies got. i seriously could not stop smiling everytime hwa jin slapped, hit and threw them across the corridor, like yes, you assholes deserve this and more. it doesn't even compare to the lives lost.

i truly love na hwa jin. he's truly one of my favourite characters now. kim muyeol's performance was so strong and captivating, his ability to immerse the audience just through his menacing smile and the lectures that they gave through such little words to the bullies, wow, just wow. i was also extremely moved by the scream that he'd let out towards gyu cheol in the flashback.

the team together was literally perfect, im han rim always screaming and being so aggressive, bong geun dae being so scared yet so smart and na hwa jin being the lead and extremely headstrong, great dad humour too, and obviously, choi gang seok always teaching these organisations, people and media the continous failure of the education system and adults overall.

the way hwa jin always mirrored everything that ga yun would say in the past was truly so powerful. especially the last scene where he'd repeated "chances aren't something you're given." "you earn them when you truly want them." to gyu cheol which were ga yun's own last words towards him, the sheer impact of that and the fact that he had the control to simply let him go further shows that it wasn't 'just' a 'personal vendetta' that the erpb had.

that also being said, the whole 'personal vendetta' that the other party had tried to force on them was so ironic, the irony lays in the face of the accusers. a personal vendetta would've been instantly answered if gang seok had just let hwa jin drive his car into gyu cheol. he didn't. instead, they carried her legacy and fight as well as protecting both students and teachers.

episode 5 was truly heartbreaking. the pain and suffering that ji seon had to deal with because of the mother, the legal loophole of "i just have to apologise" without any consequences for false accusations, hwa jin replicating the exact torture she'd brought ji seon through on ujin's mother was so significant.

in conclusion, no matter how unrealistic the idea of this kind of organisation existing, the film sends a truly powerful message to its viewers and the people questioning it, hating it and feeling targetted are the exact people it criticises.

"that's my son-in-law, you punk!"

that line cracked me up so hard 😭.

"for the rest of your life, you will carry the burden of knowing you caused this."

"that's the justice he will get."

"this is the hell you created."

"enjoy living in it."

this entire scene and dialogue from hwa jin was so important and moving. the truth spoken in those lines in itself just silences you.

"if the roots of the tree are rotten, you don't blame the leaves for withering."

10/10 Review - "Business As Usual"

10/10 Review - "Business As Usual"
"Business As Usual" is not just another BL drama. It is a meditation on wounds, trust, and the process of healing oneself-slowly, honestly, and very humanly.
For me personally, this drama felt like reopening an old wound that had not yet healed. Min Joon-with his deep trust issues, the way he withdraws, closes doors, and keeps everything to himself-is so close to what I feel in real life. His fear of attachment, his worry about repeating trauma, and his desire to be trusted but not knowing how... it's all heartbreaking.
In contrast, Ji Hwan comes across as someone who not only loves, but also understands and respects wounds. He's not perfect, but he's there. He doesn't force, but he persists. He loves Min Joon not because he wants to "fix" him, but because he sees value in the healing process itself. Their relationship develops slowly-not instantly, not explosively, but quietly and real, and that's why it's so touching.
Their chemistry is incredibly natural. There's depth in every look, silences that speak louder than words, and acting that feels so honest. The drama avoids overused tropes and chooses to tell the story of two fragile people-and that's its greatest strength.
As someone who still struggles with fear, guilt, and old trauma, Business As Usual gives me hope: that safe love exists. That healing is possible, even when it's slow. And that we deserve to be loved, even when we're not perfect.
My personal score: 10/10 Not because it's a perfect drama, but because it's honest. And sometimes, honesty is the most healing form of love.

What goes around, comes around.

I liked this drama very much , it shows how the one with powers tries to control the weak ones, I wish that central organizations like this existed because I saw when a boy from my class harassed (by words) one of our female teachers

it's showed that not only the students get bullied but the teachers also sometimes faces the same thing and it also showed that karma comes instantly

I also liked the character of Im han Rim , I think she's the another reasons that I loved this drama so much.

overall I like this drama very much , I highly recommend, and the 2nd episode was on another level OMG and when I saw the students of Guun Hi-tech school it remind me of the Section E from Ang mutya.
this drama is the perfect combo of bully and comedy..

everything I said is based on my personal opinion ...

7/10 Sashes and Hearts: Unique Concept, Mixed Execution

Sashes and Hearts' concept is honestly unique. A BL series centered around male pageantry? That's super fresh. I haven't seen anything quite like it, especially from Thailand, where pageantry in BL isn't really explored. Props to the creators for trying something different!
That said, one thing that threw me off a bit is the huge cast.
There are just so many characters, it gets a little overwhelming trying to keep up with everyone's story. It makes the show feel a bit crowded and chaotic at times.
In addition, it has so many uninteresting plots, like they just threw in to fill a space and make the series lengthy. And also too many nonsensical dialogues.
Now let's talk couples... The main leads, Mac and Larence have a good chemistry. Mac Alonzo's acting is good, it feels natural, while Larence Brenches little needs improvement.
The second couple doesn't really click for me. The chemistry just isn't there. Oddly enough, I found more spark between Jack and his best friend, Tony. I was honestly hoping they'd end up together instead!
Most of the actors here haven't starred in major movies or
TV series, and I hadn't even heard of them before watching this. But I have to give special props to Gian Carl, who plays Tony-his performance felt incredibly natural, with zero awkwardness.
Also, major kudos to Oxin Films. I've always noticed that a lot of Filipino BLs tend to struggle with budget limitations, but this one feels like they really put in the effort. You can tell they invested in the visuals, production, and overall quality.
Sashes and Hearts is a fresh take with potential, even if it's not perfect.

Good drama with great characters

The trio and their ride or die attitude—amazing. No notes.
Fight scenes/stunts—excellent.
Camerawork/blocking of actors—the most interesting I’ve seen in a cdrama

However, here are some notes: Find a writer who knows how to do rising action and tension. We needed something more leading into the climax. Because of the lack of tension and rising action the climax fell short and didn’t feel like it was very different from any of the episodes that came before.

That said, I would take five more seasons of this.

10/10 The truly good things sometimes lie in simplicity.

10/10 The truly good things sometimes lie in simplicity.
This is a very nice, cute series.
Although there is a bit of a crime story in the film, it still reminds me of the "age of innocence" with its simple story and lovable characters.
Therefore, I am glad that this is not a deeply thought-provoking film that stirs up human feelings, but a series that provides perfect relaxation for people living in an increasingly complicated world and struggling with many difficulties.
Thanks to the director, the crew and the excellent actors for this great series!
1 am increasingly experiencing that very high-quality films and film series are being made in Taiwan in the fields of dramas and lighter genres.

looking forward to season 2

i honestly rly liked the story, it had lots of potential. i loved the entire casts acting except for the two main characters unfortunately. they just slowed down the plot and didn’t have that much to offer acting wise either. i have high hopes for s2 tho, i’m rly happy that methas became the leader of the vampires, he was by far the best character in the show.

Has Deadpool/KickAss/X-Men Vibes in a good way

My Rating: 9/10

As a fan of the superhero genre, I found this one incredibly interesting. I particularly like the unusual supers that take a unique spin. And this was a fit for that slice of the super hero pie. The powers are unique, and the premise—with its blended aspects of X-Men, Deadpool, Kickass vibes—kept me hooked. The villain characters were compelling, the acting was strong overall. Cha Eun-woo and Park Eun-bin are among my favorite actors. Having the two of them together was a highlight. It features a lot of great characters and actors, making it enjoyable just for the cast alone. It wraps up well enough to stand on its own but leaves a bit of room for more, in Netflix fashion. I am not a fan of open ended but this was not completely open, it left possibility without leaving the ending hanging. If you like superhero stories, are a fan of any of the actors, or just want something a little different that isn’t heavily romance-focused, I definitely recommend it.

Spoilers
It was a minor annoyance that it took them so long to learn how to use their powers effectively. I had the most fun toward the end when they figured it out and became more capable. I understand they stretched it for comedy, but it felt a bit slapstick at times. They portrayed the female lead character, Eun Chae-ni, (Park Eun-bin), as kind of simple or not the brightest at first, but I was hoping for (and glad to see) some underlying intelligence—she grew into it, and her character felt complicated in a good way.

I had a hard time understanding, as an American, why the lead male character, Lee Un-jeong (Cha Eun-woo), would give up a friend for a mother who had never been around, but I recognize that as a cultural thing. Wasn't ever sure exactly what happened with the mother, if she gave him up willingly, he was "kidnapped" or what. But, in any case, he turned Chae-ni over for a chance to see/know what happened with his mother. Harsh.

I thought for the longest time that the sticky guy character, Son Gyeong-hun (Choi Dae-hoon) wasn’t very useful, but his ability turned out to be very handy in the end. Like I said it was more fun, to me, when they learned how to fully use their superpowers.

I don’t know what it is with the stinky/shower-averse characters in these dramas lately—I know she had been traveling or whatever, but it was kind of weird to lean into that so much. Not sure why they did it; I wouldn’t have thought much of it, but there was another drama where they commented on hair stinking, and as a very clean person, I found it disturbing (others might not notice as much). It was supposed to be funny, but rubbing her stink on him - ooh.

I’m a hopeless romantic, so of course I would’ve liked more romance. There was a little—just enough not to annoy non-romantics you might watch with—but I love both leads in romantic roles, so it was hard not to want more. The kiss and the hug were both heartwarming. But, I think they made a great couple so would have liked more. Maybe if they do have a second season.

I loved the actress who played the grandmother character Kim Jeon-bok (Kim Hae-sook) and her role here.

Some of the wonderkinder turning more villainous was an interesting dynamic. The setup with some developing almost Stockholm syndrome toward the evil doctor felt believable, as that’s a real phenomenon.

If someone had this on, I’d definitely rewatch it. I may even watch it again myself in the future, though with so many options it’s hard to return to things. I thoroughly enjoyed it. If they do a second season, I’ll likely watch—unless I hear it’s really horrible—but they have plenty of material for more.

10/10 WOW

10/10 WOW
After a long time we got a good series, with a story plot. I like how many actions scene we got. I even didn't needed to skip, cause every scene was that good. Love how they didn't focused on just giving us NC scenes and gave us instead beautiful romantic fully meaning scenes.
I even liked how they mixed it with Korea x Thai. It felt new and very different. Ever character did an amazing performance.
I thank everyone for their hard work. I definitely would recommend you to watch that series. You will not get bored and it's not even cringe like not even one scene. I definitely need more series like this.

A crazy casting for a Masterpiece

Before starting the review i think i'have to say this : WTF is this cast?? We have Dilraba Dilmurat, Leo Wu,Liu Yu Ning,Zhao Lu Si and Alen Fang in THE SAME drama, how crazy is that? Even for the support roles the cast is very good.

I loved every episode of this drama, even though it takes a good ten episodes before it really gets going. The level of acting it's a high level, the character of Li Chang Ge is a strong woman! The production is very great, the story is well written even though there are a few weaknesses in the writing at times, especially toward the end, as is often the case with Chinese dramas. Very nice OST and so much feelings happens!

It's a very good drama with an amazing cast, it's going to be hard to watch something else right ater this one!
