Bright and Fun

I'm not sure why everyone seems so harsh with their criticism..I Love Love Love this series. It has heart and celebrates dreams, dreamers, and the struggle to accomplish one's passion. Kim Sejeong is the soul of this series and she does a marvelous job of motivating others as she finds her own way in life. The cast is fabulous, the little stories are interesting and the overaching story holds it all together. I particularly liked one of the side stories that discussed trauma and how the writers dealt with it sensitively. Bravo!

A very Japanese romantic series (with a frustrating FL, in my opinion)

PLOT: FL & ML were close in high school (ML was bullied, overweight, and unrecognizable back then), but she rejected him, and he left. 12+ years later the FL meets up with the ML . He's now the CEO of the company where she works. The ML proposes the FL to be his fake girlfriend: so she could take revenge on her cheating boyfriend, and he wants to get rid of a potential fiancée. But they both have toxic mothers. The ML's mother will do everything she can to separate them.

+++ Suzuki Jin is handsome and talented.
+++ The story is fairly realistic. Dynamic direction.
+++ The OST is well-suited.

### The FL character is UNBEARABLE. Japanese writers love this type of woman: submissive, silent, hardworking, who forgives everyone everything, lets herself be embraced even by those she hates... (ಠ益ಠщ) In short, a jellyfish (without a skeleton, nerves, or brain)!
What level of misogyny do you need to reach, to have, in the same series, two toxic mothers, one "jellyfish" FL, one jealous best friend who steals the boyfriend, and, to top it all off, a stalker and psycho fiancée??

### I know it's cultural, but the "we forgive everything, even years of suffering, abandonment, and manipulation" because we're family... NO!

=> Some might find it cute and romantic, but I came away from this series angry and frustrated.
**************************************************************

+++ OSTs bien adaptées.

So much promise--such a pity!

With such a strong cast , budget, and concept, it's a crime that the writing was so weak, leaving much of the antagonist actions off-screen and the protagonists largely reactive. Yi Im Jwa spends much of his time with knowing looks and telepathic communication--actor was good but writing was poor. They should have just added telepathy as a fantasy superpower rather than have him narrate with his mouth shut. He develops a formidable team of evil-doers who just sit around and agree with his pronouncements. Sigh. The gambling scenes were nice. Yeo Jin Goo probably learned some of his Crowned Clown kingly behaviors from Choi Min Soo. It was fun seeing Jang Keun Suk play a serious role and demonstrate his acting abilities. However this series was thinly written with surprise reveals and no visual preparation or background work. Thus it felt too long--such a pity.

I guess the love is really beyond the grave

I dont know how people can rate this story above 5?
Slow paced story, Simu with the on off childish and cold character. I get it storyline can be slow, but everyframe doesnt have to be slow-mo?!

I gave up watching after 16 episode. Too slow, too bored. Lived for 400years but dont know how to live with fun.

The Village Barber Touched My Heart More THank I Expected

I started watching The Village Barber out of boredom, but it turned into something much more meaningful for me. This show touched my heart in a way I did not expect. It actually made me want to work harder and care for the older generation even better.

What stood out most was the genuine love and warmth shared by Park Bo Gum, Lee Sang Yi, and Kwak Dong Yeon. The care they gave and received felt so sincere and natural, and that made the emotional moments hit even harder. Episode 10 was especially difficult for me because I cried every time they had to say goodbye to someone.

This was such a heartfelt and emotional watch. It reminded me how important compassion, connection, and care really are. I truly hope they make more seasons in this village because I would love to keep watching these stories. Reading other reviews is great, but watching it for yourself is even better.

He Sacrifices Everything for Her

It's absolutely fantastic! 100/10 The acting is outstanding. Dilraba looks absolutely stunning and carries such a powerful aura. Chen Feiyu portrayed his character so well that you can clearly feel how deeply he loves the female lead. He’s willing to sacrifice everything for her, and he plays the role with so much cuteness. In the fighting scenes, he’s incredibly intense and full of spirit. Their chemistry is amazing. The storyline is fresh, unique, and unlike anything else. It also gives you a lot to think about. From start to finish, you can really feel the deep bond between all the characters. It’s just so good.

This adaptation is truly impressive and did not disappoint me as a reader. Episode 3, in particular, gave me goosebumps because of how accurately and respectfully they portrayed the characters from the original Wattpad story. Nothing felt forced or cringe—it was natural, engaging, and emotionally powerful. You’ll find yourself laughing throughout the episode, yet at the same time, it can make you tear up. It really makes you wonder what the author would say if they could see how beautifully their work was brought to life. If the author were still alive, I’m sure they would be incredibly proud and happy with this adaptation.

A Story That Understands What We Don’t Say About Friendship

I really loved this movie, and what stayed with me the most is how real it felt. The female lead is beautifully written, not perfect, not always easy but deeply human. She makes mistakes, she feels things intensely and she moves through life in a way that feels honest rather than polished. That’s what made me connect with her so much.

What truly touched me, though, was the relationship at the center of the story. It felt genuine in a quiet, almost familiar way.

I’ve always believed that friendship breakups can hurt even more than romantic ones and this film captures that feeling with so much care. It hit something very personal for me, especially since I haven’t always been lucky when it comes to friendships. Watching it felt comforting and a little painful at the same time like it understood something I’ve never really been able to put into words.

I also loved how grounded everything was especially the ending. It didn’t try to force anything dramatic or overly neat. It just let things exist as they are, and that made it feel even more sincere.

It’s a beautiful film that touches on so many things without ever going too far in one direction, not too heavy, not too light, just the right amount.

Duang with you is for the people who want an attentive and gentle love.

I wanted to wrote a review after watching it for the first time but I couldn't put my thoughts into words...now that I rewatch it for the from EP 1 to EP 12 the following weeks Saturday after the show ended(cuz I missed them way toooo much🤧) I just want to say this drama may have a simple story line with not much drama element but it gives a certain type of comfort to the viewer that you can't just find in any other drama. And that's why it deserves a 10 cause this drama actl made me feel connected to it. The amount of details (really there's a lot) and story follow was sooo good. I have watch bl for 4 year but this just hits different. I loved how healthy this relationship is(our green flag couple 🥹) and how they showed us how people can love loudly or quietly but still share the same amount of love with each other. This story healed something in me that wasn't broken💗 The acting, cinematography, story line, the flow, everything was great 💕

THIS PART OF THE REVIEW IS 101% BIASED
I just wanted to say I'm so proud of teetee and por. I knew them from dmd friendship. In first season I saw teeter his was so young back then but with a lot of energy. Then s2 I saw por. He was so talented. teetee joined the show too and they became partners in the end. So when the pilot came out I was so excited for them!! I loved them in your sky!! There character was so cute 🥺 I was screaming my heart out when the trailer dropped. I was so excited for it but I just thought it was like for your sky and khemjira since I followed the show from their pilot release also. But boy was I wrong. I watched all the vids about dwy. I watch everything. I MEAN EVERYTHING. Their busking, reaction vids, events,BTS, etc. and I listen to all their ost. I usually nvr listen to ost of drama separate. But I played all the song and remember the lyric(to my ability lol) idk if it's because qin is a music major and they perform for a music event but listening to the made me more connect to the drama. Also all the ost was sooooooo good bro😆 I gonna miss this era so much. It wasn't just 3 months to me. I still remember watching documentary and their live stage thing(for the first ep) while waiting for the first ep. Oh to go back to that time. I love teeteepor so much I really hope they get recognize and achieve slot of success. I hope they know they have a big fandom and community supporting them!! Lastly I'm gonna miss this fandom. This fandom who love and cherish our duang and qin❤️ I'll miss all this edit, memes, convos, laughter and smile that we share. I LOVE THIS DUANG WITH YOU SOOOOO MUCH 🐶🐈‍⬛🎸🎨🎤💓📸

Everyone’s got a price.

Yes—everything has a price, so be careful what you wish for.

If this is your first time watching something in this genre, chances are you’ll like it. It’s bloody, disgusting, sad, and oddly charming.

But if you’ve seen more than a few similar stories… you’re probably already tired of the same formula: a group of students gets involved in something unknown, which eventually turns into a curse (zombies, monsters, krakens—whatever the screenwriter chooses), and they have to fight for their lives with everything they’ve got. This show is exactly that—nothing more, but nothing less.

The story had a good premise. After all, who isn’t at least a little afraid of an app you can’t delete—one that leads to death? I watched the first episode and thought, “Oh, this is good!” But then something went wrong, and it became… let’s say boring. Bloody, but boring. It doesn’t make you wonder what’s behind the closed door or the flowing curtains.

Furthermore, the characters are one-dimensional, the situations they find themselves in are predictable, and the dialogue feels unnatural. There’s nothing to challenge your brain—no complex situations to unravel, no sense of mystery about where it’s all heading. Just a growing impatience to reach the end so you can move on to something more worthwhile.

I didn’t like it, I didn’t hate it—it just didn’t hit home for me.

the writing is so illogical and inconsistent

Ahn Hyo Seop and Park Bo Geom are wasted on this series. Their acting are of course top tier, and absolutely gorgeous. But the writing.. I can’t.. i can’t..

Cha Min was written as a smart person, but he got so confuse why the police can track him down everywhere? I mean, i don’t even have a credit card but i can guess it’s because of his credit card the moment he stays at hotel and he ask “How can they find me?”
Like.. hello? Aren’t you supposed to be a ‘highly intelligent heir’ ? Where’s your intelligence go my friend?
Dear writer, you can’t make inconsistent plot just for the stories can be continued, because even if it makes the story extended for longer, it makes people sick of so much plot hole and inconsistencies.

Another one, it says that abyss (the dragon ball thing) revives people in form that reflect their soul, but the killer’s soul is far from innocent so how can he can be alive again with new face? Pardon me for saying this but, that’s stupid. If it reflect a killer soul, then he should be revived as a cockroach or sewer animals or something?
How can you revived him with a new face so he can continue killing?
Another plot hole full of inconsistency in the writing.
For what? Just to make the stories going even longer, so the plot is plotting or something, the writer defies all the rule and logic they make at the first place.

I can try to understand how stupidly Cha Min revive a random people on street because the show describe him as pure and innocent, so it’s because of empathy. But where’s his intelligence go in other circumstances like with the credit card? Also about the abyss, the rule about ‘reflect their soul’ just went out the window, huh? A killer revived with new face so he can continue killing.. just to prolong the story.. i mean according to the show logic and the abyss rule, then his show should reflect how his soul is like a cockroach rather than a ‘human’.

Writer-nim, if you make a character, then try to make the character stick to the way you describe them, don’t just make them suddenly do this and that, just for the sake of extended the story. It just makes things so inconsistent that frustrated the viewer.

I can’t continue watching this.
It’s so stupid and frustrating to watch this kinda things just keep going.
I really love Park Bo Young and Ahn Hyo Seop acting, but the stories, jeez..

If you just want to watch it for ‘fun’ or for PBY & AHS, then by all means you can go watch it. But serious warning, if you can think logically then you’ll find the show very frustrating and stupid.
I’m gonna drop it, i can’t watch it any longer than this.

If wishes could kill: Triggering, horrific yet riveting.

If Wishes Could Kill' tells the story of high schoolers who come across an app called Girigo that can make wishes come true, but each wish comes at a cost... your life.

I found the show riveting from the first episode to the last; there wasn't a dull moment. There's a lot of horrific elements and violence, and those can be triggering, but all the more, it was an amazing watch. It's fast-paced, and everything happens in a way that doesn't drop the ball. The acting is amazing from literally the entire cast, and the backstory of how the app came to be is also well explained, so we don't have a situation of 'why is this happening this way?' It's a fun and exciting watch.

Trigger warning, though: there is lots of violence and bloody scenes and elements of horror that could leave you feeling eerie. I advise to watch out for those.

Fate-Defying Love

This drama was honestly one of my favorites that I have watched this year! Everything from the visuals, costumes, and the OSTs was absolutely gorgeous! This is my third drama of Dilraba's that I have watched, and once again, she did not disappoint! The way that she portrayed He Simu was incredible! I loved the duality her character had, as she could be very cold and merciless, but also be so curious and like a child when it comes to experiencing her five senses. I also loved that we slowly got to see her be more emotionally vulnerable as the drama goes on, such as when she loses control upon learning that Duan Xu was severely injured and wounded.

And speaking of Duan Xu, I honestly was so surprised at Arthur Chen's acting in this drama. I have never seen any of his other dramas, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. But, oh my goodness, his acting in this drama was honestly so good? In my opinion, he is another actor that expresses a lot of emotions with just his eyes. I also love the smiles and subtle smirks that he does as well, adding on to the confidence of his character. Duan Xu is someone who is unfailingly loyal and who gives his entire heart and soul to someone. (In this case, Simu). He is the definition of golden retriever energy, in my opinion. I loved how persistent he was, even though Simu did not return his affections for a while. He loves her unconditionally, but not only that, he allows her to have her freedom and doesn't try to confine her.

He Simu is a character who has been alive for 400 years, and has seen all of the tragedies and things that life has had to offer her. As the Sovereign of all Spirits, she rules over the Void firmly, and with an iron fist. She is cold and merciless, but is also quite calculating when she needs to be. She has had 22 lovers, all of whom have died. She even explains to Duan Xu how there was one lover whom she did care for deeply, but she soon came to forget his name and what they even looked like. And, because of her lack of five senses, she is unable to experience touch, sight, smell, etc. It is because of Duan Xu that she is able to experience all of these sensations, which is why she initially agrees for him to become her spell bearer. She insists that their relationship is purely transactional, but as the drama goes on, we see that that is truly not the case. She even does so much as walk away from him, despite the fact that it breaks her heart to do so, in order to save him from Yan Ke, who is surely to use him against her. She is such a strong female lead, who is a force to be reckoned with.

As for Yan Ke, Miles Wei was incredible in this role! I honestly think that he should play more villain/morally ambiguous characters. As Simu's Right Hand, he has spent 300 years by her side, obeying her every order and carrying them out as needed. But, he secretly harbors a greed for power, and the person with the most power is He Simu. At first, I had thought that Yan Ke was in love with Simu, as he would bring her things from the mortal realm, such as a tea?? making set. But, as the drama progressed and we got to see more and more of his personality; I soon realized that that wasn't exactly the case. He isn't in love with Simu, but with the power that she can give him. In other words, he is "in love" with what he cannot have. His ambitions and greed only grow, and it even drives him to extreme measures, trapping Simu in a bedchamber and placing a strong magical barrier around it so that she cannot escape.

The scene where he tells Simu that she has been his obsession for all these years and that he is the only one that truly cares about her? Yeah, that scene truly made me see his true colors. He is psychotic enough to use Duan Xu against her and to severely wound him as well. And while Simu appears not to care, we all know that she does. At the end, when he dies, I honestly wasn't sure how to feel. On the one hand. he did, in a way, die to save her, but at the same time, it doesn't excuse all the things that he did to her before. Jiang Ai? I absolutely loved her, but I just wish we got more of her backstory. I wanted to know more about her history with Bai San Xing. I do wish we got more of her story, but I am glad that we did get some backstory of her. I absolutely loved how she was loyal to Simu and was one of the only spirits who Simu perhaps considered a friend.

The love between Simu and Duan Xu was absolutely beautiful and devastating, and there are definitely a lot more things I could say, but I don't want to make this review any longer than it already is. I know I'm missing a lot of things, but the one last thing I will say is that the ending (the original one) was honestly beautiful. I did love the alternate ending, but I just think that Duan Xu would not like that Simu gave up her immortality to be with him. He would not want her to give up anything for him. I do prefer the original ending ,as Duan Xu will perhaps eventually become a spirit, and then he will be able to be with Simu forever. The ending had me sobbing uncontrollably, and the acting by both Arthur Chen and Dilaraba in that scene was absolutely excellent <3 Overall, this drama was absolutely beautiful, and depicts a love that defies fate and is absolutely beautiful and tragic all at once.

A Breathtaking Fantasy Romance Where Allure Turns Deadly and Betrayal Cuts Deep

The premiere of Flower Boy is a stunning visual experience from ONE31, blending fantasy romance with a modern corporate world in a way that feels both fresh and cinematic.

Pearl and Peak reunite here, and their chemistry feels stronger than ever. There is an ease and intensity between them that immediately pulls you in.

The story begins in modern Bangkok, where a vice president is struggling to save his failing perfume empire. His search for something rare and extraordinary leads him to the legend of a mysterious flower tribe whose people carry a natural fragrance unlike anything else. That journey takes Scent (Pearl) deep into the mountains, and from that moment on, everything changes.

Once inside the Mudan tribe, the atmosphere completely shifts. The series becomes immersive in a way that feels thoughtful and detailed. From the traditional clothing to the wooden homes and the untouched rhythm of life, every element is beautifully crafted. The scenery is especially breathtaking, moving from dense forest to cascading waterfalls, making each scene feel almost dreamlike.

At the center of it all is Gaysorn, portrayed by Pearl, who is fragile, captivating, and impossible to look away from. His presence alone carries so much emotion.

The connection between Gaysorn and Scent is immediate and magnetic, creating a strong emotional pull from their very first meeting. The contrast between a man from the modern world and someone who has never experienced it adds an extra layer of depth to their relationship.

Even the names feel intentional. In Thai, Gaysorn means pollen or the pistil of a flower, symbolizing beauty and new life, which fits his character perfectly. Scent complements that meaning, tying directly into the way he is drawn to Gaysorn.

What makes this series work so well is how it blends corporate ambition, nature driven mystery, and a sense of forbidden romance, all wrapped in a rich fantasy setting that feels both intimate and expansive.

Hoping for more...

Where does this leave us? If no one fights for the defenseless, who will?

This was done in a way to put a face to the evil, the reasons behind it and the advocate for justice for all. The never ending cycle of crime for the sole purpose of making money. The lawyer who fought the system regardless of the client.

I liked it for the steady portrayal of strength in the face of danger, from which ever side it came. I liked that there was a personal line he drew and never crossed it. The full circle from the first to last was a nice catch as well as how interconnected they all were.

There was a lag between ep 3 to 5, but it picks up as the characters are no longer isolated but linked through various means.

The main leads gave me what I wanted: evolving questions. It wasn’t straightforward, not always legal and differing views that didn't feel shallow. It was nice to see Keita as a gangster but personally didn't overshadow Yuya and Hokuto. They held their own.

If there is going to be S2, I'll be watching.
