A Slow-Burn with Real Substance: Well Worth Your Time
A genuinely enjoyable watch — quietly compelling rather than flashy. I’d even go as far as to say it outperforms many similar series in the genre. At its core, it explores the relationship between a manager-mentor and a young aspiring actor, and that dynamic is where the series really shines. It offers a surprisingly grounded look at how an acting career can take shape — not just in Japan, but in the industry more broadly: the short TV formats, the production process, and the rather steep, often unglamorous path to becoming a professional.
Some viewers might take issue with the lack of overt romance, but honestly, that didn’t bother me in the slightest. If anything, it felt refreshingly realistic. The woman is older, their relationship is rooted in work, and what develops between them is built on trust, respect, and a quiet emotional undercurrent. There are no unnecessary intimate scenes, yet you still pick up on subtler tensions — jealousy, ambition, that almost subconscious desire to prove oneself worthy of attention.
The subplot involving her family adds a bit more texture, though I’ll admit some of the side stories — particularly those involving other actors in the agency — felt a touch underwhelming. They weren’t bad, just not particularly gripping.
That said, the series as a whole feels solid and thoughtfully put together. It doesn’t rely on the usual romantic clichés — no endless dates in picturesque spots or filler scenes of couples killing time. Instead, it leans into shared goals, professional growth, and emotional restraint, which, to me, makes the story far more engaging.
Also worth mentioning: if you’re a fan of Machida Keita, you’ll likely appreciate his performance here. He comes across as very natural, and at times it even feels like you’re getting a small glimpse behind the curtain of his own craft.
All in all, if you’re in the mood for something with a bit more substance — a slow-burn, sincere story with a realistic edge — this one is well worth your time.

The same old, same old...
When you think you get something like "To My Shore" - no, you don't. It started interesting but then degraded rapidly. We have the same 2D villain fathers and the brother Ken as in many other shows. While not as over the top like in "Wicked Game", it's still not satisfying at all. There is no sophistication in either the script or the villains. It's all very stereotypical. And of course the finale is quite ridicilous as it's typical with thai shows. At least the MLs got to play something different and in most parts they succeeded with the acting. Nobody can deny their chemistry. The NC scenes are the same old, so nothing new or interesting there. I guess that is the second time we got a GL side-couple, this time not stupid or silly as in "Love Sea". Also the action scenes were not as amateurish as in many other shows, so that got them on my good side 🤣. Production value was high. The timejumps made the story not easy to comprehend.
It's an "ok" show for me, it's watchable but of course can't come close to "To My Shore" which had a much more refined script and even more tensions between the MLs. As usual the viewer gets an happy end and the end scene may be a hint of a coming show in the same universe or a special. But beware that some scenes might be very disturbing (psychical abuse, selfharm) and mentally unstable people should not watch it.

So terrible, I loved it!
If you’re looking for a drama with a 12 year old child (ok so that’s what he looked like to me) in the lead role as a mafia boss, cheesy and really obvious product endorsement adverts (who has a bottle of tablets with consistently one in it and a powder based supplement that is always supplied on a tray with a glass of water and the box it came in and don’t get me started on the skin care…) some very bizarre plot twists such as a three-some that has no context and appears out of the blue adding nothing to the story, then this is the drama for you.It was so silly that it was brilliant and well worth the watch.
Seriously though, this could have been absolutely excellent in the right way if only the script writer, director and casting director hadn’t been on some very dubious ‘stuff’ when this was conceived, if the main lead hadn’t had enough Botox to freeze his face so permanently that every expression was literally blank and if the cringy ending hadn’t been so bizarre.
For sheer entertainment that is outstandingly odd in a good way with great location and building shots then this is well worth a watch. However, if you’re looking for something with real depth and characters that make sense then this is probably not for you.
Would I watch it again? You betcha bottom dollar I would!

One of the Best Dramas Yet Still Leaves You Wanting More
I really think they should consider a Season 2 with the same cast. The drama was exceptionally well done, from the storytelling to the performances. Park Bo Gum delivered a compelling performance, and Choi Won Young as the villain was absolutely brilliant: layered, intense, and memorable. What stood out the most for me was the chemistry and emotional depth between Park Bo Gum and Seo In Guk. Their brotherhood was portrayed so naturally, making the bond feel real and heartfelt. The emotions throughout the series were executed beautifully; every moment felt meaningful and impactful.
It’s honestly one of the best dramas I’ve watched, and I’ve personally rewatched it several times. The way it balances suspense, sibling love, and the romantic storyline, while seamlessly connecting every character and plot point, is truly impressive.
That said, the ending felt a little lacking. After such a strong build-up, it deserved a more satisfying closure. A Season 2 would definitely do justice to the story and give it the ending it truly deserves.

Slow Pace but EmiBonnie slayed!
I did not really know what the plot or storyline was since I came in mainly for EmiBonnie. The pacing felt quite slow with a slightly toxic mysterious vibe. There were also some unnecessary scenes, and at the beginning, a few moments were hard to connect with due to the lack of backstory.I found myself losing focus quite often because of the slow pace. Still, I stayed somewhat immersed because EmiBonnie really delivered. The acting and directing are good, but the story itself feels a little flat.
Honestly, it felt like Rak was the one doing most of the wooing towards Pam rather than Kawi. At times, Kawi and Rak gave off more of a couple dynamic than siblings.
I almost dropped the series since the first three episodes did not clearly show what they were building towards. But it does get better from episode four, which kept me watching.

One Piece Season 2: Into the Grand Line

This could’ve been so much more, but it crossed a dangerous line with Stockholm Syndrome…
This series started off so strong. The acting is absolutely phenomenal, and I don’t even need to start talking about Fort and Peat, they were incredible from start to finish. I loved everything about it in the beginning: the performances, the dynamic, the setting, the story… it all felt so promising. But the ending left me feeling completely empty. It’s honestly a bit sad, because despite everything, I have to admit that I was slightly disappointed with the final episode. After such a strong build-up, it just didn’t fully deliver the emotional payoff I was hoping for.
I am curious to see whether there will be a second season after that last scene, and if there is, I really hope it continues the story in a way that feels more satisfying and builds on the strengths we’ve seen.
One thing I also found quite questionable is the use of Stockholm Syndrome. It’s a very sensitive topic, and the way it was handled leaves a slightly uncomfortable impression. Especially the situation between Kevin and Vier, it felt like everything that happened between them was resolved or brushed aside far too quickly. The emotional weight of it all just seemed to disappear, which made it feel unrealistic and hard to fully accept.
Overall, I wouldn’t say the series is bad, it’s still enjoyable and has its strong moments, but it didn’t quite live up to the full potential it clearly had.

It's so intense
The most outstanding masterpiece ever in the history of gl.i can't stop watching over and over again. cinematography on point, cast, and everything I between is exceptionally excellent. I'm still in awe. I can't believe that such an amazing masterpiece could be given in the history of gl. In comparison to the Taylor Swift's eras tour. I'm still in awe. Go watch it today if you haven't. Available at Fabel Entertainment only on YouTube. I don't know if anything could ever surpass the intensity, quality and everything about this series. I'd rewatch it in a heartbeat
I loved it. I cried in ep 40. I feel like we get to know those ppl from 17 years ago.. that are presnet and or tell us on why they did what they did, and we i feel get to know each part of their story. Sad moments. I mean i creid.. I paced. I'm a person.. if something intense happened.. I will pause the show and start pacing. Ive done that a lot in this drama because its intense. I loved the sountrack as well. I loved the story. It wasnt dragging. I feel like if you dont pay attention on who each character is it will drag. unless its just bad writing then it may drag. this drama didnt drag for me. I loved it. I loved the chemistry, the intensity, everything about this drama. and yes like the headline says.. id rewatch it in a heart beat. Was this review helpful to you?
Disappointed
I have one word Bromance, hate it and doesn't work for a series that is supposes to be BL. Come on China get with the times. The storyline was good and the actors are very good at playing there parts, but the bromance does not in any way or form make up for BL. This did not work and i did not feel the chemistry the way i had with the manga. It was like friends not the flirty moments I had hoped for, not even a kiss. Very horrible for a remake, people need to stop lying to themselves saying this was good, if you want action and drama yes, but this is not BL and does not do the manga justice. Was this review helpful to you?
THE BEST C-DRAMA OF THE YEAR!
I just finished Pursuit of Jade and I honestly don’t think I’ll recover anytime soon. This is hands down one of the best dramas I’ve ever watched, and I’m not even exaggerating. Everything about it just hit perfectly—the story, the pacing, the emotions, and especially the leads. Like… where do I even start? The female lead? Absolutely iconic. She’s strong, smart, and doesn’t take nonsense from anyone. It’s so refreshing to see a character who actually stands her ground and makes her own decisions instead of constantly being pushed around. She’s not just “strong” for the sake of it either—it feels real, like every choice she makes comes from her experiences and values. I loved how she handled every situation with both confidence and vulnerability.
And the male lead… oh my god. He is EVERYTHING. The way he’s so powerful and respected, yet completely soft and whipped for her? I was screaming. He has that classic general aura—calm, intimidating, in control—but the second it comes to her, he melts. It never felt forced or cringey either. His love was steady, protective, and honestly just so satisfying to watch.
Their chemistry?? Insane. Every scene together felt natural and emotional, whether it was tension, romance, or just quiet moments. You could feel how much they cared about each other without it needing to be over-the-top.
I genuinely didn’t want it to end. This drama set the bar way too high, and now I don’t know what to watch next because nothing feels like it’ll compare. If you’re even thinking about watching it—just do it. It’s THAT good. Seriously! Anyone who doesn't watch this drama is missing out a lot. The whole series is just 10/10.

An Underrated Gem
A unique k drama that cares about the plot and story making sense over asthetics and glamour. With the entire cast with good storylines and each character with a fundamental purpose to the plot. very good job. This is one of the shows you don't hear about in mainstream success but everyone who watches it will always praise it. Everything in this show makes sense which is rare for a k drama they actually take time to explain the purpose of each thing so u don't end up confused. The main couple have very good chemistry and look very good next to each other. Except for a few cringey scenes and a couple of uncessary moments it's a solid good k drama everyone should at least try.

It’s good, but I’m not sure it’s great. A bit of a mixed bag overall.
This is a drama that almost gets there, but eventually trips over its own feet in the final act. While it has enough star power and high-octane moments to keep you watching, the payoff feels more like a polite "sorry" than a satisfying conclusion.Firstly, the leads carry the show on their backs. Their chemistry and screen presence are the main reasons to stick around, supported by a decent soundtrack and a handful of genuinely epic fight scenes that actually deliver on the tension the plot promises. When the action hits, it really delivers.
The cracks really start to show in the writing towards the end. There’s a bizarre reliance on "emotional blackmail" that just doesn’t hold water—like the Auntie pleading for the treacherous Uncle’s life by using her son’s death as a bargaining chip, even though the Uncle’s own man fired the arrow. It’s a warped bit of logic that makes the characters feel more like plot puppets than real people.
The biggest letdown is how the villains are handled. Instead of a hard-earned reckoning, the writers take the easy way out. The bum loser Emperor suddenly goes mad, which feels like a "get out of jail free" card rather than actual justice. Then you’ve got the main villain in a weirdly romanticised prison death—complete with melancholic music and a poison mercy from his wife—without so much as a mention of their own son. It’s a demented attempt to humanise monsters that haven't earned a shred of sympathy.
The end is topped off with a confusing "What If" alternate universe sequence and a very soft punishment for the Li family, who basically get a slap on the wrist for high treason. It’s all a bit too sanitised for my taste.
If you’re here for the actors and the occasional big battle, you’ll have a decent time, but don't expect a finale that respects your intelligence. It’s just alright—raised slightly from a 6 to a 6.5 simply because the leads are so watchable.
