Boring!!! Terrible!!! Predictable!!!

I like both actors in this drama and have seen the movie version of this. Couldn't get past episode 1 with all the predictable kind of plot. It's very obvious that Park Eun Bin's character will be used by the prosecutor to solve crimes and win cases and falling in love with each other will come in the middle of things. What's new?! It's a waste of time to even bother finishing episode 1 since everything's predictable. The narrative should should have been given a different twist. If you're a die hard fan of either actor, go ahead and bore yourself. Otherwise, save yourself because there are other underrated dramas or series more worthy to be watched and re-watched.

Best chemistry I’ve seen in decades

I’ve been watching dramas from different countries for nearly 20 years, and this pair has the best chemistry I’ve ever seen. Both leads are incredible actors, the cinematography is stunning, and the story is solid from start to finish. I absolutely love this drama, and I can only hope MH and YX get the chance to collaborate again in another project.

Not only did i become a fan of PoohPavel but i fell in love with BL because of this show as well as pit babe ever since i've watched multiple shows since. I love a good spooky/ supernatural show and adding men falling for each other in the mix i'm sat to watch it multiple times this might seem like a lot of praising but i genuinely love this show as well as the song Pray 10/10

A DISASTER IN THE FORM OF A DRAMA

Cheap Trash in Luxury Packaging: You Get What You Paid For
Honestly, what a massive waste of time. How is it possible for two streaming giants to deliver such a weak, lifeless project? It’s high time the industry learned that visual beauty and a multi-million dollar budget can’t save a bad script.
Having attractive actors, flawless costumes, and a luxurious aesthetic is completely useless if the story is empty. These days, there are low-budget mini-dramas with storylines and performances light-years ahead of this disaster.
iQIYI selling this work as a "huge success" is a joke—if the numbers are high, it’s purely thanks to blind devotion from fanbases trying to protect their idols' image, not because of the drama's quality. And don't even try to claim the public is complaining out of grudge or because they "haven't gotten over [POJ]." The reality is simple: the drama is terrible strictly on its own merits.
Amateurish Direction and Post-Production: The direction is awful, the background music is wildly over-the-top—trying to force emotion where there is none—and the special effects have absolutely nothing "special" about them.
Cast on Autopilot: Zhang Linghe delivers a completely expressionless performance, while Wang Churan seems more concerned with posing for the camera and looking pretty than actually conveying real emotion. She is stunning, but as an actress, she leaves a whole lot to be desired.

Surprisingly entertaining!

Shockingly, this series is not as bad as I thought it was going to be. And it frankly does not deserve the low ratings it is garnering on several other review sites. In essence, it is unexpectedly entertaining. And surprise! The story is a good one. I found the premise certainly different and piqued my interest. Why it fell from grace is that it kept repeating the same plot themes over-and-over again. It is the direction again that brought this series down. While not as salacious as some of the other Filipino BLs by the same director, its story could have clearly been a more rewarding one, if more energy was spent on embellishing its theme. Too bad, honestly. This series really does deserve a 'look see' despite all the negative comments here.

Here, "living" is the simplest thing.

Being The Winner of Magnolia Award Best TV series of 2024, & Having a Grand Rating of 8.9 in Douban, "我的阿勒泰" /My Altay/ "To The Wonder" is one of the finest & Sincere productions of China that came out in recent years. It's a cultural tourism work of Northern Xinjiang but the Cinematic quality is truly magnificent. A Storytelling like a roaming raconteur, Picturesque Cinematography, Excellent Camera work & Direction, Every shot is immersive, and Every Actor perfectly embodied their roles.

At the age of 19, Li Wenxiu stood at a crossroads in her life and asked a writer she admired what to do during a lecture. The writer said, "Go love, go live, go get hurt". It felt like the original author Li Juan's self narration, this drama is adapted from her eponymous essay collections, the original work is a record of her own life experiences as an adolescent living in the Altay Mountains, living with her Mother & Elderly Grandmother alongside nomadic Kazakh herders for several years. They migrated & moved ranches with the herders, run a general store, worked as small tailors sewing clothes, picked wild mushrooms deep in the mountains, & experienced a close-up look of lives of this ethnic minority, Prolly the reason why this drama felt so Genuine. The best part of watching was the rawness of it, be it the characters or the landscapes, or the relationships & the conversations that came along with it...Customs, traditions & Cultural aspects of the ethnic minorities were interesting to watch, Zhang Fengxia's dynamic with her daughter & mother was chaotic, funny & heartwarming at the same time, the chemistry between Male & female lead was Calm, soothing & refreshing. Ba Tai & His family with other minor supporting roles & their journey with the Main characters created a blended experience of immersive storytelling.

Yu Shi is So Manly Handsome & a pleasant discovery of Acting Talent. Such a natural aura out there with bare minimum Makeup & styling. He is horse-riding, singing, playing musical instruments, doing archery, & speaking Kazakh half-fluently. His Ba Tai is Charming, youthful & gentle at heart. Zhou Yiran is such a pretty lady & she carried her role really well, watching them on screen have been an absolute pleasure.

This drama has a world of It's own, & it successfully made me appreciate that world of vast grasslands. In the remote northwest region of Altay, a land with Snow-capped mountains reaching into the clouds, dense forests, flocks of sheep, horses galloping freely, Kazakh boys on horseback, and Han girls in long skirts—the pure and bright vitality of life leaps off the screen. Everything is so picturesque, calm and natural, When things feel heavy in life, try this drama for a Scenic peace of mind.

This was honestly a 10/10 for me the acting, the music, THE CAST was perfect and everyone was so beautiful even the villain . At first i watched it without any expectations and was pleasantly surprised when the female lead started to fight back, which made me like it even more and kept me interested. The way they portrayed these fights was truly stunning, and not just the fights, but also the entire village they lived in ,i can tell they put a lot of effort . This drama had me so hooked that I forced myself to wait two weeks between episodes just to avoid ending in suspense, lol. It’s definitely recommendable and worth rewatching , my friends loved it and even started watching more cdramas because of it.

What I admired most about Double Helix is its willingness to embrace contradiction. Almost every important relationship in this drama is built on opposing truths. The characters love each other deeply, yet they repeatedly hurt one another. They long to be understood, yet hide the very emotions that would make understanding possible. They desperately want to protect the people they care about, yet their attempts at protection often become the source of the greatest pain. Rather than resolving these contradictions, the story allows them to exist, and that's what makes it feel so authentic.

The writing never searches for easy emotional victories. Instead, it explores how people can become prisoners of the coping mechanisms that once helped them survive. The qualities that once kept the characters safe gradually become the very things preventing them from finding happiness. Watching that transformation unfold felt both heartbreaking and remarkably believable because the narrative patiently established those patterns long before they reached their breaking point.

One of the drama's greatest strengths is its respect for emotional continuity. Feelings don't disappear simply because a new chapter begins. Every betrayal alters future conversations. Every moment of kindness is complicated by memories of previous hurt. Every reconciliation carries traces of old wounds. The past is never treated as something that has been left behind. It quietly exists beneath every interaction, shaping what the characters say, what they leave unsaid, and what they're ultimately capable of believing.

I also appreciated how the story refuses to reward certainty. The longer I watched, the less interested I became in deciding who was right. Instead, I became fascinated by how each character's worldview made their choices feel completely logical from their own perspective. The drama isn't asking us to approve of those choices. It's asking us to recognize how easily fear, guilt, and love can become tangled together until they're almost impossible to separate.

Perhaps what impressed me most was the confidence of the storytelling. Double Helix doesn't rely on constant revelations to maintain suspense. Its greatest tension comes from waiting to see whether its characters can overcome the emotional patterns they've carried for so long. In that sense, the central conflict isn't between two people. It's between who they have always been and who they still have the possibility of becoming.

By the final episode, I realized the series had quietly become something much larger than a romance. It was an exploration of memory, accountability, forgiveness, and the difficult work of rewriting the emotional habits we've mistaken for our identity. Few dramas are willing to trust their audience with that level of complexity, and fewer still execute it with such consistency.

For me, Double Helix is a masterclass in character-driven storytelling. It proves that the most unforgettable narratives aren't built on extraordinary events but on ordinary people carrying extraordinary emotional burdens. Thoughtful, emotionally fearless, and beautifully layered, it's a drama that reveals something new every time I think about it.

Loved the music

I really enjoyed the music. especially the OST songs and the "events" 's productions. I wish they had more of those and longer ones instead of the non stop cooking and eating scenes. I also really loved the scenery like the 1000 mountains and lakes. Such an awesomely beautiful places and scenery. However, I wasn't too crazy about some of the acting parts as no matter how much it was forced by lots of hugging and hands holdings, the chemistry between the FL and ML was pretty much zero. The ML did his best to try to create a somewhat romantic atmosphere but the FL' acting came across as flat, one dimensional and phony. Most of their interaction was embarrassingly cringe worthy with the female lead acting like a 12 year old shy, non verbal, without any character whatsoever. Her language skills consisted of hm, oh, yes. ok, hmm... so it's pretty unbelievable that a highly educated, talented ML character would fall for someone mediocre looking and really boring. The FL simply has no screen presence and her acting ability is very limited. I actually liked the rest of the characters and couples. Most of the other female characters were way more outstanding and interesting than the FL , especially Dou Dou, beautiful, talented and incredible screen presence. Overall, it was a fairly entertaining drama, especially the music scenes, although, fast forwarding had its use in the many boring and repetitive scenes. I would watch this show again but only the music scenes and listening to the beautiful songs....for the rest....I would avoid, especially the embarrassing cringe worthy dating scenes between the FL and ML as well as the second FL&ML' painfully ackward interactions.

Perhaps I've become jaded

Have I seen one too many body swap dramas? Have I watched too many family/corporate power struggle dramas? Perhaps, but this one did not hit right on any level for me.

First, I was hoping for some comedy. I didn't find anything in this funny.
Too many characters to keep up with, each more evil than the last. Who was I supposed to root for? I didn't care for anyone.
For me, the ML was overacting and his scenes felt completely unnatural to me. Was it because he was supposed to be the chairman?
The chairman's daughter developing feelings for the ML when he was the chairman - just no.
When the chairman woke up in the ML's body, he was excited that his leg was healed. Magically, so was the ML's injury as well.
What was with the chairman's hair?! It was so distracting! Did the hair/makeup person not know how to make someone's hair gray without making it look like a stiff powdered wig?

I'll admit, that based on everyone else rating this so high, I was just in a bad head space to be watching this at this time, but I was greatly disappointed.

I don't know exactly how to describe this feeling, but...

This story made me hate the main protagonist so much that I wished he'd die in the first few episodes.

But by the time I finished the series, I was rooting for him so hard that I'd be willing to sacrifice my life for him.

The pacing is really well executed.

Hats off to the screenwriter! Thank you so much for writing such a beautiful story!

My most anticiped drama from GMMTV 2026.

It wasn't what I expected - like I expected more of a sad drama. But it's better than what I expected. From what I thought would be doomed story about two young teens, became a strong story about acceptation among Christianity. Learning how to be queer and christian - which what I learn after the Director is.

Aunt Lek was the best character and to me the most important. A strong message about what religion is supposed to be: love and respect.

I think this is my least favrite 4E :c

Idl why because I love lesbian princess and FreenBecky, but I'm wasn't much hooked.

I think maybe he got not enough love story to my liking?? Or maybe it's something else idk to be honest.

I think I can sense a pattern between all 4E, like they almost follow the same paths. Which is a little bit sad, they could take some risks.

I love genres like fantasy and horror. This show is great from the start. I like chemistry of the leads also.
Give it a whirl.

It was the breath I need after watching Daugther (iykyk)

The drama is funny (even Pheem's jealousy which I usually hate when it's over use). Every character is cute and funny in its own way.

Minus for the dad that suddenly hate the man he force his daughter to married (I find it illogical but whatever).

I was just getting bored sometime.

BTW: MDL's synopsis is wrong what they say happen on 7 out of 13, like it's half of it.
