The Reunion Didn't Hit the Way I Expected

Everything before the adult era was actually really enjoyable. There were a few annoying moments here and there, but overall I liked the story, the chemistry, and the slow build-up.

My only issue starts after the adult timeline.

I don't really like Zhang Jingyi's character in the adult era. I know she'll probably get better later, but right now she just feels a little too over-the-top. Maybe it's because I've watched so many dramas with similar tropes, so my expectations were different.

Yes, the ML secretly sent her away for college, and that would've hurt anyone. But honestly? I didn't think it was that unforgivable. They weren't even dating, they were just two people slowly falling for each other. He genuinely believed leaving was the best thing for her future, so his actions never felt selfish to me.

That's actually why I love Song Weilong's character. He's gentle, responsible, emotionally mature, and always puts her happiness before his own. His love feels quiet and selfless, which I really appreciate.

But once she comes back... her attitude just started annoying me. I know she's hurt, and I know she still cares about him, but acting like she doesn't care at all felt a bit forced. And the whole "I'm going to live here. It's my house." Girl... it's literally his house. 😭 The only reason he lets you stay is because he still loves and cares about you.

I also wish they'd just communicate instead of going down the jealousy route. I've never been a fan of misunderstandings that could be solved with one honest conversation.

Maybe I expected too much because I love both Zhang Jingyi's and Song Weilong's dramas, and they usually have amazing chemistry with their co-stars. I really thought their reunion would hit harder.

I'm still going to continue watching because I love slow-burn, slice-of-life romances, and I'm hoping her character develops in the upcoming episodes. The chemistry is definitely there. I just hope the writing catches up.

Kalau boleh jujur, aku nonton series ini cuma buat ngeliatin Lee Chan Hyeong. Jadi kan awalnya aku nonton film The Ghost Game tuh, nah aku shock lah kan ntu di film nya ada fine shytt. Nah walaupun tu film membosankan bgt tapi visualnya Lee Chan Hyeong kept me watching 'till the end gituh. Nah pas check page biodata dia di MDL ternyata dia pernah main BL donkk oh em jiii excited nye sayee. Terus yaudah nonton lah kan ehhhh tapi....

Premise awal tuh kayaknya menjanjikan ya? Ada aktor Where Your Eyes Linger yg juga merupakan main lead disini. Terbukti di kolom komen banyak yang bilang ni series kebantu popularitas nya Jang eui soo biar tenar, which is valid sih ngga masalah juga, tapi kan tetep aja yang dinilai penonton tuh eksekusi akhirnya. Mengandalkan aktor populer doang mah ibarat pensil lancip yang semakin tumpul semakin sering digunakan.

First thing first yang bikin aku shock ternyata Chan Hyeong masi imut cutesyy disini wkwkkw. pipinya masi embemmm gumushh.

Ini tuh tentang koki? head chef ya? tapi kok bisa posisi dia terancam dicabut dan digantikan seenaknya saja oleh seorang CI I O/CEO? restaurant ada CEO ada head chef alias jabatan terpisah? kok pas di akhir story dikatakan bahwa si perempuan CEO sama karakternya Chan Hyeong bahwa mereka berdua yang mendirikan restoran nya?? lah anjir kalo karakternya Chan Hyeong termasuk pendiri restoran mah kagak bisa seenak jidat lu pecat dia woii buukk! anjim dari plot nya aja udah bikin geram. Terus ternyata si calon pengganti head chef nya dia nggak pernah ke luar negeri? lah anjir profil diri dia terbentuk dari kebohongan dong😭😭 taek cok seng nggawe script eh ra cetho tenan njaluk diantemi batako😤.

Terus pas kejebak didalem ruangan pendingin bahan makanan tuh gimane ceritanye bisa keluar oyyy!! kasi tau penonton lahh! kan kelen ngga bawa hengpon, gagang pintunya rusak, terus gimana bisa keluar?. Itu staff restoran yang lainnya ada akses kesitu atau cuman khusus buat chef aja biar ngga ada yang bisa ngerecokin bahan makanan? diawal-awal cerita kayaknya karakternya chan hyeong kayak lagi belanja bahan pokok gitu ya (or am i seeng it wrong? correct me plz). Berarti kalau yang belanja bahan pokoknya chef, yang ngatur ruang pendingin juga chef? terus kalo aksesnya terbatas untuk chef sekalinya mereka kejebak didalem situ gimana cara keluarnya? jujur ini plot hole deh???. normally, di kasus-kasus kriminal gitu kalo korban udah terjebak di ruang pendingin makanan kek gitu ya chance untuk masi bisa idup jadi dikit dan ujung-ujungnya meninggoyy. dukhh ga kebayang kalau kedua main lead ternyata meninggoy terus lanjutan kisah series nya itu mereka udah jadi hantu dong? ihh seramnyeee.

terus kurasa banyak scene yang perpindahan/transisi antar scene nya ngga jelas. lagi perjalanan offroad eh tiba tiba next scene udah di restoran. lagi di restoran/di tempat sekitar restoran eh tiba-tiba next scene nya dipantai. lah perjalanan mereka ke pantainya kapan wokk? kok ga ngeuh si gwa? apa pas karakternya Chan Hyeong mabuk terus besok paginya ada di rumahnya si karakternya eui soo?. mbok ya sing detail lah producer-nim.

ah udahlah kalau dikulik lebih dalam lagi semakin emosi gua soalnya ceritanya makin absurd. Oh iya chemistry nya emang kureng sihh, firasat gw aktor-aktornya cuma mau profit instan dan mereka melewatkan workshop penting tentang gimana caranya mem-build chemistry didalam drama. eh atau mungkin dari tim produser, mereka ngga ngasih workshop? tapi kan sutradara-nya udah sering bikin film LGBTQ+ bahkan dah 2 dekade lamanya, jadi gw asumsikan dia tahu betul penggambaran romansa orang gay yang sesungguhnya tuh gimana. Kalau sutradaranya udah Pro tapi hasil dramanya masih jelek begini mau nyalahin siapa ya? produser-nim lah.

Udah yee sekiann. Chan Hyeong sepertinya butuh improvement kalau misal dia sewaktu-waktu mau ambil peran BL lagi. atau ngga mending jangan deh, kalau kualitasnya masih sama kayak disini. Kayaknya dia straight mentokkk tok sampe dia susah ngebayangin dan memerankan peran geih.

I came for Jeff and left craving JeffGameplay

I'm surprised by how much I adored this series! It was basically a long ass commercial for a Thai supermarket and yet somehow I fell in love with it!

I loved listening to Jeff sing. And that song is so beautiful! I loved watching Gameplay cook. The food looked amazing.

You know what else was both beautiful and amazing? Their chemistry! Dear lawd, they were so sweet together! It was a gentle, slow burn that made me blush for them. It felt so wholesome and so sincere. It was like the young folks version of Life in Smokey Blue, although it lacks the depth of that series.

And as someone who is very familiar with Jeff Satur through other shows and his music, I have to say that I REALLY liked this version of him. He's always a sweetheart (even as a gangster in KinnPorsche) but this was more than that. His messy hair, natural face, slightly thicker frame were all so soft and beautiful. Dont get me wrong, polished JS with perfect hair and makeup is super hot. But he was so effortlessly sexy here. What a natural beauty.

I want more of this series and more of Jeff and Gameplay. I realize I'm getting neither, but a girl can dream.

It was a good and low stress watch. If you're like me, you'll enjoy this more than you were expecting!

the kidnapper

I have a strong feeling that Ko Seyun’s kidnapping has something to do with Dr. Kim Gyeong Ae. From the moment she was introduced, something about her has felt suspicious. While she appears calm, professional, and trustworthy on the surface, I can’t shake the feeling that she’s hiding something much bigger. There have been several moments where her behavior seemed a little too calculated, making me wonder if she’s secretly connected to everything happening behind the scenes.

One of the biggest reasons I suspect her is because of her feelings for Kang Tae Ju. It’s pretty obvious that she likes him, and jealousy has been a major motivation for characters in dramas before. If she sees Ko Seyun as someone standing in the way of the future she wants with Tae Ju, it wouldn’t be surprising if she decided to remove that obstacle. Whether she planned the kidnapping herself or simply helped make it happen, I think her emotions could have influenced her actions.

I also don’t believe she’s acting alone. If my theory is correct, then No Man Hui is probably involved as well. He’s powerful, manipulative, and always seems to have people doing his dirty work. Dr. Kim Gyeong Ae could easily be working with him, either because she’s being manipulated, threatened, or because they’ve made some sort of agreement that benefits both of them. Together, they would have the resources and intelligence to pull off something as complicated as Ko Seyun’s kidnapping without immediately drawing suspicion.

Another thing that makes me question Dr. Kim is how perfectly she seems to fit into the investigation without ever becoming a suspect. Sometimes in mystery dramas, the character who appears the most helpful ends up being the one hiding the biggest secret. She has access to medical information, knows more than she lets on, and could potentially manipulate evidence or people without anyone realizing it. That kind of position gives her opportunities that most other characters don’t have.

I also think the writers may be intentionally making viewers overlook her by focusing attention on more obvious suspects. It’s a classic misdirection. Everyone is busy pointing fingers at the characters who seem openly suspicious, while someone like Dr. Kim quietly stays in the background. That makes me even more convinced that she’s connected to the kidnapping in some way.

Of course, this is just my personal theory, and I could be completely wrong. The drama might reveal an entirely different mastermind, or Dr. Kim could turn out to be innocent after all. But based on everything we’ve seen so far, I can’t ignore how suspicious she feels. Her interest in Kang Tae Ju, her mysterious behavior, and the possibility that she’s secretly working with No Man Hui all make too much sense to me.

If this theory ends up being true, it would be one of the biggest plot twists in the story. It would explain why certain events have unfolded the way they have and would completely change how we view Dr. Kim Gyeong Ae’s character. Until the truth is revealed, I’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on her because I have a feeling she’s hiding far more than she’s letting everyone see.

A grande promessa.

ESSA REVIEW VAI TER SPOILERS!!!

A história até certo ponto parece confusa, principalmente a relação do casal principal e isso me incomodou um pouco, porque apesar do final bem explicado, até você chegar lá, parece tudo muito superficial e mal contado.

Ex.: como raios o Gong Ziyu simplesmente decidiu ficar do lado de uma Wufeng depois de todas as histórias cruéis envolvendo os dois clãs? Parecia super absurdo e eu estava pronta pra parar de assistir até explicar que era tudo encenado e fazer total sentido. E talvez a ideia do drama seja essa, mas de qualquer forma, acho que poderia ter sido abordado melhor.

E sim, meu casal favorito foi a Shangguan e o Shangjue; não pelo love hate, mas pela ideia de que seria impossível eles ficarem juntos já que ambos cobiçam coisas que são inimigas por si só e mesmo assim acabarem se apaixonando. Vamos combinar, ter química sem nem ao menos ter um beijo é pra POUCOS e os dois entregaram isso com tanta perfeição que me choca.

De resto eu gostaria muito de uma segunda temporada, porque a história no geral é muito boa e interessante; mas sabemos que as chances disso acontecer são baixas. E é justamente por serem baixas que me desagrada eles não terem fechado tudo em uma temporada só.

Ugh! way too long and just too much constant angst

This probably would’ve been a great 20 episode show. as always, Song Weilong did a great job acting, but could not save the constant angst and just too much filler. The female lead never acted her age, she’s so goofy all the time. I found myself fast forwarding through most of the show after the first eight episodes.
the two fathers did a great job, acting wise and all three of the kids in the young early years did a great job. But when they become adults, the show takes sharp turn downhill.
they kept trying to see why it had such high ratings and so I never wanted to give up on it, but there are far better shows out there.

comédia da sessão da tarde, só que melhor.

Apesar de ter visto que as resenhas estão ou 8 ou 80, bem diversas, vou tentar não me deixar influenciar.
Não esperava muito desse filme, coloquei de fundo enquanto estava jogando, mas depois de um tempo me vi entretida, até porque é um filme bem divertido, e olha que nem sou muito da comédia, mas esse foi engraçado e chamava sua atenção nos momentos de ação, foi uma mistura ótima entre os dois gêneros de filme.
A rivalidade inicial entre os dois maridos foi engraçada, mas me vi meio contra o atual marido no começo, mas depois ele se mostrou um fofo, então gostei dos dois maridos, dois divos. Depois com o tempo vendo a união dos dois para salvarem as pessoas que eles amam foi bem fofo, a cena da sala congelante principalmente, engraçada também.
O elenco divo né, amo a Oh Eun Seo, o Gong myung e a diva Lee da Hee.

SHIT show EVER watched by me.

Wahh never saw a drama like this, I kind of wishing that it will be such good show but by the end of the show it was turning seriously a shit show.

Writing this review after dropping it at by the end of ep 11.

Look, fl (i seriously hate her, so much) is so annoying that it feels like crazy. Not saying that much but after watching 11 episodes just want to say few line's about whole show script and i think these few line's will be enough to describe the show story.

"The show is actually about potatos but it's not actually, fl have terrible past but has to through a lot and later she met ml, but the problem is the ml is just a punching bag who got used to clean the fl and her ex past shit. Those who did wrong stuffs (fl and her ex) living well enough life and the innocent one (ml) suffering by cleaning there past shit and that's it"


That's what the all show is about, such a waste of time men.

Se você não trata ela bem, vai ter alguém pra fazer isso no seu lugar

No geral, foi um filme bom, não incrível, nem ruim, mediano pra bom (só por causa do romancezinho fofo no começo) eu diria.
Gostei muito das partes fofas do romance que é mostrado no início, e das comparações das ações banais ou não dos dois Hyeok's, como a troca da lâmpada.
Não gostei MUITO porque não é uma história avassaladora, e também porque deu bastante raiva assistindo e vontade de largar o filme (tudo por causa do ex dela, que homem praga. Homem é homem né, mas aquele é um escroto)
Eu geralmente assisto os filmes sem prestar atenção no nome ou em detalhezinhos, isso me fez ser pega desprevenida pelo plot do filme, no qual eu tadinha burrinha caí, e fiquei chocada quando entendi, mas pura ingenuidade minha.

This was just terrible

I am trying to think where to even begin with. I really wanted this to be a hit for all the actors involved, but this might be the worst BL so far that I have ever watched until the end. And that is saying a lot, considering the amount of shows aired these days.

What is the biggest shortcoming of the show is that the comedy which is the main aspect of the show, it does not work. I understand humor is a very subjective preference, but some of the jokes were literally for things that small kids would laugh at, and this certainly in other aspects is not a show for small children. There was maybe an attempt to have a more serious tone to the show once Fu and Moo did get together, but the transition fails, bc the horrible comedy is still present even in later episodes.

There were also just so many bad choices made in terms of plot progression. We had a jealousy plot line recycled three times in the show, which for one single BL is just too many. In the last two episodes we had a drug trafficking plot line with undercover police officers which was wild considering how juvenile the show in general had so far been. There was all together three side characters with romance plot lines that didn't lead to anywhere. Since Fu's and Moo's romance clearly had not enough material to carry the show trough all 10 episodes, the three side character romances could have really helped to at least bring some substance in to the hollow main plot line.

The shows main couple did generally suffer from credibility problem. Since Moo had obviously been so set against Fu courting him for years, the 360 that is made in just few episodes feels absurd. I do have some empathy towards Moo's reason rejecting Fu previously, cruel careless things heard as a teen can be very traumatizing, even if it was something they could have discussed earlier. The end of the show feels just as absurd for the main couple, considering the short time they have been romantically together and what generally was the relationship's starting point.

I really like Boss and Noeul's on screen chemistry, which makes me just hope this show will be quickly forgotten and they can move to better acting projects. I would not recommend watching this, even if some of the actors are your favorites. For me this was a clear fail.

Could've been much better, but it's still good

The main problem with this drama is the chopped editing that is very noticeable. Because 7 episodes were cut out, the transition between the early episodes is not very smooth.

I oftened asked myself, how are we already here? when did the relationship changed so suddenly?

I can overlook it, though. The plot itself isn't anything new, so if you think you found some unique xianxia, you're mistaken.

The first couple of episodes, I wasn't really sure by the ML acting. It felt like I didn't know what his true intentions were or what his personality is.

When we passed 10 episodes, it got better, and I do like his character. Do I think he's the best demon lord? No. He doesn't really give me that feeling, which makes sense because he doesn't even want to be the Demon Lord.

That's what surprised me the most.

The fact that he would give up his powers and people for Li Fei. The divine tree.

Lei Xiuyuan is very powerful, but so is Li Fei. The writers are just scared to show off her true potential. So she needs to be saved all the time.

Not even once she saved herself, which is honestly sad because I'd love to see her win at least once all by herself.

When friendship between the main characters and side characters is really great. They always come to help. No matter what is happening.

Now the positive things.

I absolutely love Li Fei masters. Both of them would sacrifice themselves for her. They love her too much. They are more like her father's she never had.

They're honestly my favorite masters.

Overall the drama is good. You'll like it if you're watching it for the plot. Even though there is chemistry between the leads, their romance is more like a subplot.

Fun binge watch

Hilarious! 😂🤌 This is indeed what it said it was. A comedy drama with a superhero concept.

Really liked the idea of laboratory mutation resulting in weird and grand superpowers. The pacing was good with a rather unexpected twist in between. You were kept entertained throughout. The ending pissed me out though. The kind of incomplete, let to the viewer to ponder kind. Frustrating 😤

My favourites were Kang Robin and Son Gyeonghun. They just exist to be comical. Im Seongjae and Choi Daehun did a fabulous job! Park Eunbin is really a fabulous actress. The variety of roles she pulls of and that too in such a good way, it's crazy! And this is one of those dramas you should watch if you believe Cha Eunwoo does not know to act. It shall prove you wrong. I think he did a good job. Honestly, the plot twist of him working for the organization and handing her over was quite a shock. Initially, I did think it would happen. But it was when i started thinking the opposite that it happened, catching me off guard. I seriously want to see him in an antagonist role, i swear! He would make a wonderful villain 😭 Supporting cast were also good and added to the storyline.

All together, it's a fun watch, a funny little escape!

An underrated good watch especially if you love modern action with a mythological touch

OK, I liked this drama. It is the same genre as one of my favs 'I am nobody'. It's fantasy in modern world and I honestly think that's a very good genre in itself. Added to that, this drama did really well with it all - the story, the effects, the acting.

A short binge watch that is meaningful, fun and heart touching. I was moved to tears a bit honestly. The messages they were trying to convey were the main plus point in my opinion. It made you rewind and think. I really liked that.

The actors did really good too. Ko Chentung and Wang Baijie did a fabulous job. They had a firm presence. I really liked the character of the crown prince; that's my favorite one.

I'd say it could do better with the soundtracks though.

It really is an underrated show. I'd love to watch it again. You should watch it too!

Not messy enough, hated the way they portrayed some of the relationships

I passionately watched Only Friends Season 1 while it was airing and if it was not a perfect series, it left me very satisfied and entertained by the overall messiness of the relationships and the crossing between pairings.

However, this season 2 was a real disappointment as it failed to recreate a similar magic, never messy enough nor really endangering any official pairing. That would be enough to tamper my enjoyment, but worst than that the way the story consistently insist that one character is in the wrong, totally ruined the story for me.

Overall the cast did a good job, with an outstanding performance of Mix. However, it is difficult for me to say that I really appreciated a lot of their moments because of the way the storylines put them in some strange situations that were very though selling to the viewer. Despite their commitment to the plot, some scenes that were supposed to be swoony, just irked me to no ends. I must admit I enjoyed some cameo but one of the past character definitely acted out of character at some point. Once again, proof that the writing was definitely the weakest part of the serie.

I would not recommend this to people as the season 1 was vastly superior. Maybe if this drama was not connected to it and if I had been able to watch it without any expectations, it would have been slightly better...However, this is not what happened so I cannot help myself to vent some frustration. I hope if a season 3 happens, the writer dare to make more ambitious choices and take us in a wild road rather than playing pretend with the characters.
