A Must Watch!!
Mr. Bad tells the story of an ancient fictional character, Xiao Wudi, summoned by a writer named Nan Xing, into the modern times. The plot was such a grabber. I have not yet encountered any similar plot since watching Chinese dramas or movies. Somewhat it was refreshing and sooo much enjoyable.
I don't think words is enough to commend this drama. It just captivated me big time. Maybe it was the acting of the actors or the plot itself, I don't really know since everything in the drama was so perfect. The plot was superb, acting was commendable, and OSTs are good.
I have seen quite a few dramas of Shen Yue and I can say she really is a great actress. No doubt about that but there is just something about her in this drama that makes it different. I love how she was able to pull her bubbly side in this one. I think she was not acting at all, she was just being herself and that makes it so much special.
For Chen Zhe Yuan, the only drama I have yet watched with him is the Hidden Love. I watched it because I got curious why is it so popular and I understand now why. Though, it never hit me like I got hit from Mr. Bad. I like Zhe Yuan more as Wudi, I must say. He was clearly enjoying every bit of his antics, which I love the most. It's like his a natural trouble maker in nature and just being as himself on the screen. I love it when he try to be cool but ending up embarrassing himself everytime LOL. Either way, Chen Zhe Yuan, drove me crazy for him after watching Mr. Bad.
For all the other characters, they are all so lovable. The second lead couples are adorable together with a nice love story plot too. Aunt An and all the characters in X-Culture was so fun and engaging to watch. And oh, the senior and junior trope love story of Nan Xing's friends are also very cute. Every characters and it's actors are so great no matter how tiny their appearances on the screen since their screen time are always worthwhile.
I definitely recommend this drama if you want a refreshing, light, and enjoyable watch. There was no toxic character in Mr. Bad and no villian so the problem was more of how can they stay together despite their worlds apart. Mr. Bad delivered consistently till the end without any single dull moment. Also, the leads are adorable with such a strong chemistry but not cringe and overacting. Mr. Bad is Rom-com drama with a touch of fantasy love story between an ancient fictional character and an ordinary writer that is yet to discover her real capabilities in the industry.
P.S.
Please prepare your lungs and gasp for air before watching, for a lot of funny and embarrassing moments will be witnessed.

The characters are written with remarkable nuance—flawed, relatable, and constantly evolving. What makes the series stand out is how it allows its leads to grow not just through romance, but through personal reflection and the relationships they build with others around them.
The chemistry between the main characters feels natural and unforced. Their connection develops gradually, making every small moment—shared glances, quiet conversations, and even silences—feel meaningful. It’s a slow-burn romance done right, never rushed and always grounded in authenticity.
Visually, In Your Radiant Season is stunning. The cinematography captures soft seasonal tones that mirror the emotional journey of the story—warm, nostalgic, and occasionally melancholic. The soundtrack complements this beautifully, with gentle, evocative songs that enhance rather than overpower the narrative.
However, the drama may not appeal to everyone. Its pacing is deliberately slow, and viewers looking for fast-moving plots or high-stakes drama might find it uneventful at times. But for those willing to sit with its rhythm, the payoff is incredibly rewarding.
In the end, In Your Radiant Season is less about dramatic events and more about the quiet, transformative moments that shape our lives. It’s a heartfelt reminder that even in the most ordinary seasons, there can be something truly radiant.

A Too-Good-to-Be-True Story
I wasn’t planning to write a review for this drama, but since I have a bit of free time, here it is.I’ve said this before, but a revolution setting in the 70s and 80s of China is my favorite genre. It’s not that I enjoy watching people struggle with poverty, but I love how these dramas portray development and history in the making. That’s also the reason why I keep watching this kind of drama no matter how bad the plot is (not that this drama is bad… okay, enough rambling).
This drama is a mix of time travel and the creation of a female hero. It’s heavily female-centric, with a green-flag male lead acting as support. It’s also a family drama, showing growth, development, and liberation.
Xia Xiaolan, who is in her 30s in the present, time-travels back to 1983 as a teenager. Of course, she has a “cheat code” to live her new life. She starts everything earlier, becomes a pioneer in many things, and lives her life to the fullest. In her previous life (the present I mean), Xiaolan was bullied both in school and at work, so she changes everything in the second chance she gets. I love everything she does the second time around. She rescues her mom from abuse, goes back to school to pursue her dream major, builds a circle of trustworthy friends and colleagues, finds love, and creates her own support system.
You can learn a lot of life lessons from this drama: giving people second chances, keeping supportive people around you, doing business, turning your “cheat code” into something real, finding warmth in people who aren’t blood-related, and even achieving work-life balance lol.
It may seem too good to be true, but that’s what makes the drama interesting. The plot is so perfect that it actually makes you anxious as it goes on. Every time Xiaolan gets a standing ovation, I get scared of what’s coming next. I didn’t read the novel, so I stayed in suspense until the end, and I survived, phew!
What I want to appreciate more is the writing and production. They had to work around censorship, and with time travel plots, you usually have to settle for a short reunion in the present, with nothing more than smiles. I think we’re lucky they at least showed the scene where Zhou Cheng calls her name. But still, no hug, no kiss, no glimpse of their life after the reunion [EHEM], lol. I only looked up the original novel ending after finishing the drama. Of course, it’s more detailed and clear, but that’s the Chinese drama industry for you. You miss out on some things due to government restrictions, but it also leaves room for your imagination.
As for the actors, Zhou Ye delivers as usual. I love how she portrays teenage Xiaolan in 1983: young, yet strong. You can really tell she put a lot of effort into showing Xiaolan’s growth into adulthood. And Zhai Xiaowen! Please do more dramas. I know you’re a singer too, but I want to see you act more, lol. Special shoutout to Lawrence Wong! His character is hilarious, and his acting is so good.
Overall, it’s a good drama. I’m glad actresses still have space to lead strong female-centric stories despite the challenges. It may not be perfect (there are still some flat/slower parts) but if you like the actors, you should definitely give it a try. It’s inspiring!

A worthwhile show
This show has been so fun to watch so far. I am excited for the upcoming episodes to see how the main characters relationship builds. The cast for this show has a close bond and I really think that portrays into their characters as well. The cinematic shots and dedication to the historical plot line truly bring you into the story. There is comedy, mystery, and building romance. Give it a watch!

That’s not what was expected
I’m really disappointed with the series, even though I’d been looking forward to it for ages. The novel was written as a beautiful love story, but they’ve turned it into a silly, bizarre comedywhere one of the actors is constantly running about and acting like an idiot. I won’t be watching any more of it.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

My goodness... What did I just watch....and most importantly... WHY DID I JUST WATCH???? If you take a hot obsessed toxic bad boy ml,sweet naive sometimes dumb fl,twists after twists, and plotholes after plotholes, some cliche villains, time travels, dream sequences, self sacrifices, good second ml,plastic surgery,a whole ahh dragon.......and some really hot kisses with lame af ending and mix them all with some mashrum drugs or hallucinogens.....the thing you get is this drama,Affinity!!!
The whole thing was so bizzarre,it became actually enjoyable at some point. They're really clever to put that Helium thing in the end, otherwise it would become a comedy sketch rather than a hot show.
Lead couple was good, especially the ml.His character development was really evident from the beginning towards the end. But storywriter was on crack most probably.

Romance really would have added a lot of spark
Just to be clear, I’m not someone who needs romance in everything. But in this case, it really would have added a lot of spark. If there had been something between them, the last three or four episodes would have felt even more intense to me. As it is, I have a slight feeling that I kept waiting for “something more.”That said, this is still a mostly positive review - I don’t want to sound negative. I can’t say I was particularly surprised by anything; I kind of had a sense of how it would all unfold from the beginning. But the two main actors have amazing chemistry, and it was a joy to watch them work through past wrongs, even though it was - especially for him - a long and painful journey.
And honestly, I do think that wedding is going to happen :))

Stupendo legal drama, ottimi sentimenti, protagonista meravigliosa!
OST bello, belle musiche e canzoni.

A Heart-Wrenching Exploration of Grief and Healing
In Your Radiant Season is a poignant Korean drama that masterfully captures the raw edges of grief, making it a standout in the emotional thriller genre. At its core, the story revolves around loss and the lingering shadows it casts on everyday life, with the central narrative hinging on a young woman's journey through mourning her parents and boyfriend's death. What elevates this series is how it portrays grief not as a dramatic spectacle, but as an inescapable, multifaceted force that permeates every relationship and decision. The acting is another highlight, with every performer delivering pitch-perfect nuance. Their performances add layers to the ensemble, making the world feel lived-in and the grief collective rather than isolated.
That said, the pacing isn't flawless. At times, especially in the mid-season, it drags . Yet, these moments serve the theme of grief's tedious persistence, and they don't derail the momentum entirely.

A dream worth living, even if it doesn't last forever
Just me accidentally starting this and ending up this emotionally invested till episode 36, this drama really feels like a dream from start to finish. Xia Xiaolan’s journey from a betrayed 2026 corporate woman to rebuilding her life in 1983 was so satisfying to watch. She didn’t just survive, she thrived—fixing her past, building her career from scratch, and finally giving justice to herself and the original Xiaolan. And honestly, one of the best things about this drama? No unnecessary misunderstandings, no overly dragged villain arcs! everything feels purposeful, and every character gets an ending that matches their actions. What I love most is her hard work—yes, she has future knowledge, but she still puts in the effort every step of the way. From small hustles to building a business and moving toward real estate, her success never feels handed to her. Beyond her individual journey, the family and friendship dynamics are what truly give this drama its heart. After escaping her father’s neglectful and toxic household (honestly still one of the most frustrating parts), Xiaolan finally finds warmth—especially through her mother and the people who genuinely support her. Watching her mom eventually find love again with someone who respects her was incredibly healing. The New Year gathering scenes, the sense of community, the friendships she builds along the way—it all creates this feeling of “home” that Xiaolan never had before. It’s not just about success, it’s about finally belonging somewhere.Zhou Cheng??? still top tier. A gentleman through and through, emotionally stable, respectful, and with a strong moral compass. The way he loved Xiaolan, accepted her truth, and stood by her without making things complicated?? yeah that’s the standard. Their relationship stayed consistent till the end: soft, supportive, and mature. Even the side dynamics, like Du Zhaohui, felt refreshing instead of messy, which made the whole story more enjoyable without unnecessary drama.
BUT… let’s talk about the ending. Xiaolan returning to 2026 makes sense, but it also feels a bit… empty? Like she went through all that in 1983, changed so many lives, built everything—and somehow 2026 doesn’t reflect those changes much. We do get that moment where she meets Zhou Cheng again (thank GOD), but it lacks proper closure. It feels more like a hint than a conclusion, and I was just sitting there like “wait… explain more???”
That’s why the theories actually make it more interesting. The idea that Zhou Cheng might be a time traveler himself—the blurry man appearing in the 2026 scenes, looping through time just to find the timeline where they finally meet—lowkey makes everything hit deeper. It would explain why he was so instantly drawn to her in 1983, like he already knew her somehow. And that final moment where he calls her softly, almost like testing fate?? yeah that theory kinda saved the ending for me. There’s also the idea that they might return to the 90s timeline to live their life fully together, which honestly feels more emotionally satisfying, especially since Xiaolan already closed her chapter in 2026. Overall, the ending may feel a bit open and slightly underwhelming in terms of closure, but the journey itself? Still worth it. This drama is warm, healing, and addictive, with strong characters and meaningful relationships. Even with its imperfect ending, I still genuinely love it and maybe that lingering “what if” feeling is part of its charm. Honestly a 9/10… but the ending really said ‘figure it out yourself,’ so yeah—8.5/10 it is.

Not Worth the Time
This drama starts really well. The first two episodes are beautiful, with great visuals and a strong story about first love. But after that, it becomes disappointing. As the story continues, it starts to feel repetitive and less engaging. The characters are not easy to connect with, and their decisions can be frustrating at times. Instead of showing clear growth, the story seems to go in circles.
It had a lot of potential, but it doesn’t deliver.
Overall, it’s not worth the time after the strong beginning.
In short, first 2 eps were beatiful, remaining were boring
4/10 just for the first 2 episodes
