wanted to watch this while it was airing - or rather wanted to wait until it finished airing, so could binge watch. but then kept seeing numerous negative comments, as this progress to air that i just shelved it & after finishing this - now - i understand why.

this was ok, even fun but somewhere this lost the plot - from when Su Yeon suddenly decided to portray the typical conniving, evil female that's used as a plot device to come between the mains. why??? i am sorry but Yu Ha really aint much in any department & the worse part, as this progressed his acting went down the drain & he had this constant vacant look on his face - like all the time. who's so desperate they wanna pay (good money) for someone who is acting like he's lobotomized?!? this attractive to whom???
Su Yeon is freakin gorgeous, so u wanna tell me there no other men wanna hit that??? cause i don't buy that she not sought after, any more then i believe how magnetic Yu Ha is, that even his brother wants him. like what was the writer on???

& if this wasn't enough we got this weird ass twist, where Su Yeon knew that Yu Ha & Tae Ha weren't blood related, but also that Tae Ha was possessive of Yu Ha. which crystal ball she got??? & how anything she told Tae Ha made him not just disappear from Yu Ha's life, but also abandon his only source of income... what?!??

& how everything was concluded, Min U didn't confront Su Yeon cause he talked with Tae Ha?? huh?!?? & then the weird twist where Yu Ha ended up employed in the same company Min U & Su Yeon worked in - the same department - what the actual f*ck.
this seriously went from bad to worse & it's a pity cause as i pointed out at the start of my comment, this had the barebone's of a good idea & other then Kim Hyeon Seo (sorry but his acting was atrocious!) the acting was good. & this could've been so much better - oh well a one off & a never again. better luck next time

Strong on paper, weak on execution

The idea of this drama was a good one - showing what virtual reality can and can't offer. While everything in a virtual reality is hyper-perfect, hyper-glaring, hyper-cheezy and hyper carefree, in the end, it's meaningless, hollow, empty and unfulfilling. Only the real deal is that - the real deal with real emotions, real joy, but also real danger of getting hurt. So far, so good.

The realisation of this drama did lack in several aspects though. The acting of Jisoo was average, with no spark and chemistry felt between the leads. The supporting cast were just a piece, with no impact. The drama lacked showcasing the significant difference between virtual realities and real life emotions. The characters lacked depth, and unfortunately the same can be said for the storyline. While the plot itself had a fresh idea, the execution simply didn’t deliver.

The real highlight of this drama, though, was definitely the cameo appearances of the virtual boyfriends. The lineup of actors who showed up for those small roles was seriously top-tier, and I loved seeing all of them.

Overall, Boyfriend On Demand had the concept, but faltered with the execution. With thin storyline and cliché romance setting, the drama is nothing but a regular rom-com with diminishing enjoyment with every episode.

My Rating : 2.5/5

One Major Flaw

With series like this, there are a number of factors you know you'll be overlooking. This series indeed contains many of these flawed factors but the one I couldn't overlook was the female lead and her entire persona. I'm a huge fan of strong and independent female characters but it feels like the industry is going overboard these days or they are just confused. They want to portray how tough the woman is, but also don't want to give up the "damsel in distress" who is saved by her handsome man just to build the idealistic romance.

This particular FL is self-righteous and obnoxiously hypocritical. She constantly claims how much experience she has and what she knows but when she loses her cool over nothing, she then blames it on the lack of experience. She is painted as someone who can do no wrong in her coroner and medical skills as well as someone who knows how to assess people around her and manipulate as needed. This isn't believable when she's throwing temper tantrums too many times. Her coroner and medical skills are also not believable when she finds a multitude of dead bodies and just goes on a high rant about how she underestimated the evil in the world. Wasn't her entire persona based around finding vengeance? Overall, her personality isn't of someone who is truly professional but more like a spoiled teenager who is riding too high off of the skills she picked up from her background and family.

The ML is less annoying but also quite dull. He's painted as someone who's rugged from war experiences since he was a kid and someone to be highly feared/respected by many but then pretty much immediately follows the female lead around like a loyal puppy. He has enough redeeming qualities to still keep him in the game but not enough to make up for the shortcomings of the FL. Can we also lay off the overly dramatic FL/ML scenes with slow longing looks at one another and change in music to emphasize what we all already are aware of? How many times does it need to be shoved in our faces? At least for series in this genre? Subtleties can be a strength.

This was given a higher score because the actual mysteries and the unraveling of them were done decently well. The costumes and action scenes weren't a major turn off and it would have been much more enjoyable less the items mentioned above.

The bad reviews are from people who just can't handle dark dramas

It's actually quite funny how many dark shows/shorts receive poor ratings just because they contain unsettling themes, and when the synopsis is as blunt as this one, the blame falls wholly on the viewer. If you are uncomfortable with themes such as kidnapping and rape then don't watch it, simple as that. This isn't for you.

I liked this short kbl because of the acting from the main lead. His portrayal of the trauma bleeding into numbness and eventually breaking down to tears really manages to evoke emotion from us as the audience, and it's exceptionally well done. The twist of the second lead being in on the kidnapping wasn't really a shock as it was easy to guess, but I enjoyed the psychological aspect and the unsettling environment over the 3 episodes.

I really wish people who can't handle dark shit to just stay away and let those of us who understand what these shows are trying to portray to enjoy it without criticism.

A Heartfelt Story About Love, Patience, and Unconditional Devotion

Love Teacher presents a touching and emotionally layered story that goes beyond a typical romance narrative. At its core, the series explores love in many forms—romantic love, responsibility, patience, and unconditional care. The relationship between Pobmek and Solar is especially compelling because it shows how love can evolve when life becomes complicated.

What makes the story unique is the introduction of Solar’s age regression after the accident. Rather than using it simply as a plot device, the story uses this condition to explore deeper emotional themes. When Solar regresses into “Sun,” his mind returns to a childlike state and he loses the romantic awareness he has as an adult. This creates a situation where Pobmek must shift his role—from a romantic partner to a patient caretaker and protector. It highlights the strength of Pobmek’s character and his unwavering commitment to Solar.

The narrative also emphasizes that love is not always simple or convenient. Sometimes it requires sacrifice, understanding, and emotional maturity. Pobmek choosing to stay and support Solar despite the challenges shows a form of devotion that is both moving and admirable. Instead of focusing only on romantic moments, the story reminds viewers that love can also be expressed through care, responsibility, and presence during difficult times.

Overall, Love Teacher offers a heartfelt perspective on relationships and emotional resilience. It portrays a bond that goes beyond ordinary romance, showing how two people can remain connected even when circumstances change. The story ultimately sends a powerful message: love can take many forms, but true commitment remains constant.

masterpiece of action.. PURE CHAOS - AND I MEAN IN THE BEST WAYYY!!

This show is pure chaos in the BEST way possible. The kind of series where you think you’ll just watch one episode… and suddenly you’re yelling at the screen, pausing to process what just happened, and jumping in your chair like you’re part of the fight scene.
The storytelling is seriously impressive. The way the show moves between past and present without losing the tension is so smooth. Every small detail feels like it was placed there on purpose, and when things start connecting, it hits hard.
The action scenes are intense but what really stands out is the emotional layer underneath everything. There’s this quiet, unspoken bond between the characters that you can feel even when nobody says a word. That subtle emotional depth makes the story way more powerful.
Also the casting? Perfect. Every actor fits their role so well that the characters feel completely real. No one feels out of place.
What makes this series special is the balance it keeps: thriller, mystery, action, emotional moments, and constant suspense. It keeps you curious the entire time.If you like shows that are fast, smart, intense, and make you feel like you’re inside the chaos with the characters… this one is absolutely worth watching.
Easily one of the most gripping series I’ve watched. Now I just need season 2 immediately.

turns out real life yearners do beat the cheesy AI boyfriend

thinking back, the moment the news of jisoo bagging a romcom script broke, i was already seated and waiting. it just felt like such her genre, if you know what i mean.

what i didn't expect, however, was the scale of the production. imagine my genuine shock upon discovering that miss korea had apparently bagged half of the k-drama acting industry for this project. i knew we were getting a romcom, but i didn't realise we were getting the avengers (k-drama edition).

'boyfriend on demand' promises unserious entertainment and, to its credit, delivers exactly that. it's a light-hearted series that toys with the perks of having your own virtual boyfriend while occasionally nudging you to consider the darker side of things, and even the radical concept of giving real-life romance a chance (good for you, seo mi-rae. we need positive yearning in the real world, too... desperately).

which brings me to my biggest question: how on earth did jisoo manage to have chemistry with every single one of her co-stars?? someone please explain this phenomenon to me. someone else get this woman an honorary doctorate while they're at it. the moment she casts a glance at her partner, suddenly iam a giggling mess like i've never seen human interaction before.

and don't even get me started on seo in‑guk. there is a reason people call that man the king of romance. he can convince you that love is real using nothing but a subtle glance that could last approximately three seconds. i respect that level of power.

this is the kind of drama designed to make you feel giddy rather than contemplative. it won't necessarily have you spiralling into deep reflections about performative masculinity, the ethics of AI dating, or the dangers of retreating into romantic fantasy until reality feels insufficient.

but not every drama needs to be a philosophical treatise. sometimes you simply want your brain to take a minute off and allow your soft little heart to simply feel things.

and in that regard, 'boyfriend on demand' does its job perfectly.

BEEN WAITING FOR THIS GENRE CONTENT

I AM sucker for psychological romance that subverts people's expectations —

Frankly, is the story/plot or premise very fresh — not really. And frankly, it could be more layered and more fleshed out — but as of episode 5, I can tell you even if the writing is not super layered, the performance and overall treatment did get layered.

I also would like it if they wouldn’t force some twists just for the sake of it — subversion works only if it is not a trope, and frankly so far it doesn’t feel like one.

Yes, audience can pick up on certain things — a bit of foreshadowing or letting in on the "secret" — that is very intentional — it is not bad writing. The writers want us to find out before the characters — and that is exactly the frustration that writers want from us.

Having said that — I truly hope they keep peeling the layers of the character that Han Sol Ah >>>

Coming to the other character — Yes, the ML could have been written better — it is obvious that his obsession hasn’t been completely justified — but I know this is just 12 episodes and since audience are also glued in to get some "chemistry" between the characters, the writers had to throw in some absurd reasons for his obsession — without taking the time to justify it.

Fair enough — we have watched enough romcom where the LEADS just happen to be around for the ML to catch the FL who is a complete stranger — and we are fine with that. Compared to this — premise is at least believable of why they meet — they even give us a sneak peek into his REAL first impression of her — he was already caught by the Siren before he could figure out what was happening.

There is amazing potential for the chemistry between the characters — I wish the actors could lean into the roles and their characters’ attraction for each other though — right now it feels like they are reading it off of the script and performing the chemistry (AND YES IT STILL LOOKS TANTALISING) — rather than feel it — like the actors aren’t convinced of their roles yet.

NOW coming to the godawful subject of the actress and her weight — as a person who has been underweight her whole life, I can safely say YES WHAT YOU GUYS ARE OBSESSING OVER IS VERY MUCH BODY SHAMING.

Firstly — I hear she did this on purpose — secondly — are we so blinded by our set standards of what a person SHOULD look like that we can’t settle for anything that doesn’t conform. Seriously, GET a life and enjoy the SHOW. IF you watch drama for a certain "Aesthetic" — there are plenty of shows out there where the leads look almost like a copy of each other with nothing to notice but boring "perfection" and photoshopped faces.

Tried my best but couldn’t finish it

really wanted to like Boyfriend on Demand. The premise is fun and modern — a virtual boyfriend service that explores loneliness, relationships, and emotional vulnerability in the digital age. Unfortunately, after eight episodes my patience simply ran out and I had to drop it.

My biggest issue with the drama is the female lead. I struggled to understand her motivations throughout the episodes I watched. The story repeatedly tells us that she is resistant to relationships, but it never meaningfully shows us why. We’re given hints that there may be deeper reasons for her hesitation, yet the narrative doesn’t explore her backstory in enough detail to make her behaviour feel grounded or emotionally believable.

Because of this, I found it almost impossible to empathize with her. Her actions often felt frustrating rather than relatable, and the writing didn’t provide enough insight into her inner world to bridge that gap.

Sweet and Emotional LUV IT!!!⭐️

I’ve honestly been waiting for this drama for a long time, so when the first episode finally came out I watched it right away. And I’m not even exaggerating when I say it actually matched my expectations for a first episode, which made me really happy.

The story itself is really interesting and emotional. It’s about Pobmek, an elementary school teacher who doesn’t really like kids, and his boyfriend Solar, who absolutely loves them. But after Solar gets into an accident, he sometimes mentally goes back to being seven years old. Seeing Pobmek suddenly having to deal with that situation and take care of him creates a lot of emotional moments, but at the same time it’s really sweet to watch how their relationship still matters through all of it.

The characters Pobmek and Solar are honestly really good already. Even from the first episode you can clearly see their personalities and how their relationship works. And if you already know Perth and Santa, then you probably know their chemistry is great. Seeing them together in this kind of story makes me really happy because their dynamic feels natural and the roles fit them really well.

Another thing I really liked is the production and the visuals. The colours, the atmosphere, and even the locations just feel different from other dramas, especially compared to other GMMTV series. Everything looks really bright and colourful, and it gives the drama a really warm vibe when you’re watching it. It’s one of those shows where the visuals actually make the story feel even better.

Even though only one episode is out, I’m already giving it a 9/10 because it left such a strong first impression on me. It already has that sweet and emotional feeling that makes you want to keep watching.

I just really hope it doesn’t end up being underrated. Right now it doesn’t seem like a lot of people have watched or rated it yet, but I honestly hope more people give it a chance because it really deserves more attention.

A Murder Mystery That Leads to Healing: The Quiet Strength of Idol I

IDOL I is not your typical idol drama neither is it a murder mystery, which is what I thought and why it took me a while to start it. The murder investigation is really only the backdrop for the story. The real story is about emotional healing, the concept of justice, and the complicated relationships that shape people’s lives. Kim Jae-young is Do Ra-ik who is called La-Ik (which I loved, because it phonetically its LIKE!) – but I digress… I like that the drama connects the characters’ pasts (as do all K-Drama!) but it helps to explain Se-na’s fascination with the case is not random. She is naturally drawn to questions of justice and her emotional investment runs deeper. Ra-ik once helped her during her lowest point in her life. Now he finds himself in a situation that mirrors her past: being accused of a crime, much like her own father once was. Defending Ra-ik allows Se-na to come full circle. In helping him fight she is not only protecting someone she cares about but also confronting the trauma that shaped her own life.
Ra-ik’s lacks sincere love, his talent as a singer became something others relied on or exploited, leaving him feeling valued more for what he could provide than for who he was. He quietly longs for genuine affection and sincerity (which is why later on, finding out she was a fan, was such a blow to him). He, through Se-na’s determination to help him and her unwavering belief in his innocence, finally encounters someone whose care for him is real and sincere. This is what I enjoyed, that we can understand how they got there and why they are together –
then what takes the romance up a notch --the chemistry between Ra-Ik and Se Na. The show does not appear to be about romance and does not rely heavily on physical romance, but we are never left in doubt that these two are connected to each other on some indescribable level.
They are careful to show that Se-na’s admiration for Ra-ik did not begin because he was a celebrity. Her feelings originate from the person he was before fame. Because of this, her identity as a “fan” never feels superficial. Instead, the story gradually allows her to recognize that what she feels for him is not fandom but genuine love.Their relationship is handled with maturity throughout the story. Ra-ik never manipulates Se-na’s feelings, and he treats her with respect and professionalism while sorting through his own emotions. Once he understands what he feels, he is honest with her. This sincerity strengthens the emotional core of the drama.
Ra-ik must come to terms with the complicated motivations of people around him—including his own mother and the individuals who shaped his career. Even his relationships with his bandmates reflect this theme: everyone makes mistakes, but what matters most is how those mistakes are acknowledged and addressed.
Se-na’s relationship with her investigator is convoluted too. Their bond resembles family, and at times the emotional closeness between them could be mistaken for romantic feelings. However, the drama resolves this naturally and maturely, reinforcing the idea that not all deep connections need to become romance.
There is also meaningful development to the prosecutor. Throughout the series he struggles under the influence of a controlling parent, and part of his journey involves breaking away from that pressure and choosing to follow his own sense of justice. When Se-na gives the prosecutor the information revealing the real culprit but leaves the final decision in his hands. Rather than forcing the outcome herself, she allows him the opportunity to choose what is right, showing faith in him and the system.
These are all things I like - there is not much to worry about not liking because the good stuff overshadows. Also, a shout out for
Kim Won Hae - He was Se-Na's dad's friend who saved her as a kid and this role reminded me of While you Were Sleeping , how he took care of the kids in that and that is one of my favourite dramas ever so this connection make me link WYWS to IDOL I and may have also added to my enjoyment.
I like the length and the music adds dimension. Just as the characters believe that music can heal people, the drama itself becomes a story about healing, forgiveness, and the possibility of finding love and justice at the same time.
For me, Idol I is a 9.5 out of 10. If you appreciate stories that focus more on emotional growth and meaningful relationships rather than fast-paced plot twists, Idol I could be a rewarding experience.

"Man or woman, I don't care... I like Mizuki!"

Judging by my headline, it's pretty obvious who stole the show for me. *drum rolls and confetti* NAKATSU ma man!! Now, I'm pretty sure Sano would also eitherway love Mizuki man or woman but I wanted to appreciate Nakatsu in the sense that we witnessed his whole dilemma and confusion, bro was literally going through gender awakening and it was way too fun to watch :D I thought his character there was one of the best. He's funny, charming, friendly etc. and best acted by Toma Ikuta!! (🤩) His character for me had more chesmitry with the FL. I like the fact that he felt shivers/sparks with Mizuka way too early in the story and love his comedic timing and expressions (i luv it whenever he'd experience series of shocks/nosebleeds when touching or simply locking eyes with Mizuka). I mean we saw him fell for her in real time.

I actually like Shon Oguri (literally the best version of Rui for me in HYD) so it's sort of a bummer that I was rooting for the SML here in HK. I did like Sano's interaction and unexplained chemistry with Kagurazaka (Yu Shirota' s character) and I found them rlly cute LMAO. I was always waiting for their screentime tgt.

Well anyways, I don't usually get the SML syndrome but for rare occasions I suffered it in Hana-Kimi. I genuinely feel FL has more chemistry with Nakatsu. If you think about it they're always tgt in normal days in school or dorm. They hang out a lot. They even eat out tgt which we never see the FL does with anyone even Sano. I get that Sano had some real issues which I think I rlly connect and relate with on a personal level. Maybe I just wanted to give Nakatsu's character a chance which unfortunately didn't happen in the drama since FL was way too fixated on Sano which is a good and bad thing. I understand her rationale as to that but I felt like it was way too much or overdone sometimes. I felt it when she was told by Sano as a nuisance, because she got way too carried away LMAO but yeah that direction leads to the SML getting set aside.

I rlly like Nakatsu's character though. The typical funny guy who also gets hurt like anyone else but chooses most of the time to plaster a smile and crack jokes despite breaking inside. I was truly rooting for him. It's definitely not easy coming into terms with your own sexual preference being in an all-boy's school surrounded by guys or as they call "hotties". Coming out was a testament to his deep feelings for Mizuka. And for that he was so brave and secured with himself. Of course he was reluctant initially but he pondered and pondered again and again and thought he likes the person Mizuka is and gender doesn't matter. I rlly felt touched during that moment. Even before he admitted that to himself, he was always doing things for Mizuka and acting out his feelings for her even without realizing.

It's very similar to this old classic kdrama 'You're Beautiful' where a character Jeremy also goes through the whole self-questioning whether you're gay or not but the difference with Nakatsu in Hana-Kimi was he eventually put an end to the battle of confusion and decided to trust his feelings for her. This guy will literally be one of my top fave characters in jdramas.

As for the whole drama, the comedy is on point!! i like the chaos that everyone in Osaka brings in. I love the support roles sm and my gosh so many good looking faces and stylish hairs aaaaa!! I also like the way the 3 dorms have their different personalities but in all they're all the same funny unhinged guys. The constant bond and bicker is so fun, the dorm groups are more often frenemies than friends but you know they're united in that way. The dorm leaders too!! Hana-Kimi does rlly scream OG classic jdrama 😘 And it's rlly funny how we often see them participating and getting busy with different contests and events than staying in their classroom but that's fine because that's where the fun comes from :D

In all, I like this drama! Mostly because of the cast particularly the Osaka boys. For the love interest part, it's sort of a let down cause I think Nakatsu's character had more charm and appeal than Sano (sorry Shun Oguri). Everytime it's Nakatsu's screentime, I literally cheer for him. I just wanted to praise Toma Ikuta for bringing life to this role, as well as everyone who did good with playing their respective roles. So many interesting and funny characters, i see why this is considered as one of the OG classic doramas. So much love, and in another universe you got the girl Nakatsu!! 🙌🔥
