Loved brewed in the office

The drama centers around a young CEO, Veekij Kraiphiwat who has prosopagnosia and cannot differentiate between faces. He relies on name tags to distinguish between his employees at work. He then decides to hire a secretary to help him connect with the world and that's Mirin Neeraumphan Phaisanphi.
The plot isn't extraordinary but the drama started out well. Although it was short, the story captured the circumstance that led to Veekij's face blindness; separation from his mother.
One amusing and exciting scene was Veekij's first encounter with Mirin. Their bickering was funny but cute. An interviewee exchanging words with her potential boss? We don't get to see that everyday.
One likeable thing about this drama is how events unfold. Everything is straight to the point and the story is not dragged on. The drama also made use of non-linear narrative; events in the drama go back and forth between past and present, making it easy for audience to discover crucial information when necessary.
My only pet peeve is that the plot was too formulaic and predicable. There was no new twist or dynamic to this office romance drama. Everything was expected, nothing surprised or caught me off guard. Veekij's interest in Mirin, Chanon's alliance with Tanya etc was way too obvious. Everything unfolded like dramas we've seen before. It felt as though the story wasn't given enough detail and that was disappointing. For a 14 episode drama, it would have been so much better if certain things were added to beef up the drama.
Nonetheless, it was entertaining and interesting to some extent and if you're a fan of office romance dramas, I recommend you watch it.

Very painful romance but I have no regrets

I was hesitant about picking up this one because I had heard that there was lots of drama and angst in the story, but I saw it being recommended too many times (and I saw Bai Lu being praised all around A LOT), so I had to watch it and make an opinion for myself.

The story is about Tantai Jin, the demon lord who is destined to bring chaos to the world, and Li Susu, the immortal who witnesses the destruction brought by Tantai Jin and travels 500 years back in time to prevent his rise to power. What Li Susu doesn't expect is to be reincarnated as Tantai Jin's wife, and Tantai Jin to be a mortal who is hated and mistreated by everyone. Just like that, Ye Xiwu's plan becomes more complicated: she has to find a way to neutralize Tantai Jin's evil core, but she also needs to make sure he doesn't die in the meantime.
The story flows very nicely. There is a lot going on, but the pace is not too fast and it allows to follow all the events well without getting confused, all without ever needing to slow down too much. There's also a very good balance between the dramatic plot elements and the more fun, romantic, and fluffy ones, which was a huge relief to me.
The cast was amazing all around, with very likeable characters and great villains as well. I was impressed by the ML the most for his performance as Tantai Jin: he was able to portray a very complex character, managing to show warmth and coldness as needed without it ever feeling unnatural. I've seen a good amount of anti-hero protagonists, but this is one of the few who were actually unsettling to me, in the best way possible!

The quality of the production was very high, with special effects that never looked out of place nor overdone. The OST also matches the core moments of the drama and enhances them very well.

I can't lie, the story made me suffer a lot. There's lots of moments that made my heart ache for the characters, and after almost 40 episodes I was starting to feel a little tired from all the heartbreaks I had to watch. Despite this, I enjoyed this story and its characters a lot, and I can easily recommend it to any fan of the Xianxia genre.

Cliché, so what?

I guess, I watched this at the right moment for me: I needed something light, fluffy, with minimal angst and drama. And I got exactly what I asked for. And liked it a lot finding it almost perfect until they hit us with the last episode. This is a story of second chances at love, rectifying past mistakes, repeating the same errors, learning from others, growing as a person, accepting one's flaws, getting better.

Four years ago, they were poor but in love, he had big dreams, she worried a lot. Until she could not stand it any more and she broke up with him. He went on to become a successful internet producer while she stayed down in the doldrums, trying to find a way out and failing, repeatedly. She has a big chip on her shoulder, huge inferiority complex and refuses to accept kindness and help from others. They meet again, sparks fly and in spite of past unresolved conflicts they start dating again. But it is, again, a disaster! Until she finally realizes the error of her ways and mends herself and her relationship. He is a saint basically! He loves her and forgives her all her mistakes and wrong judgements while she holds him responsible for making her feel inferior. All he wants is to help her achieve her dreams, be there for her. She gets it wrong every time. He asks to talk everything out, while she keeps saying he does not understand her without explaining anything. Talk to him so he can understand you, you idiot!

I liked the story. It is nothing new or groundbreaking just a story of second and third chances at love. The first five episodes were extremely well paced and the story flowed nicely with them bickering and fighting, him trying to push out gently the other man in the picture, nice and caring friends (who of course crush on each other!). And then they almost ruined everything with the last episode which was rushed, illogical and unnecessary! So halfway through another one of her depressions, she has an epiphany, gets aware of all her errors and gets back with him! She definitely needs therapy! This is where dramas go so wrong: being in love cures all ills! No! She was traumatized by her injury which stopped her from playing the piano professionally but she never addressed the problem!

This is more of a disappointed rant than a review. I still enjoyed it but it could have been much better!

DIsrespected the most important arc in the source material.

I finished the Yu Yu Hakusho anime and started to binge the live-action a day later. What surprised me the most was the complete disregard of 60% of the content from the anime/manga. I understand the budget/production costs would not allow detail orientation despite that they should have ended the show with Toguro not going full strength, getting defeated and then coming back with an invitation to the dark tournament. The Dark Tournament Arc is one of the most notable tournament arcs in the history of Japanese anime/manga because it went on and influenced tournament-based arcs in various anime/manga. To completely disregard an arc as crucial and heartfelt as that was a poor choice. They should have brought the dark tournament arc in season 2 with five episodes again because there are characters introduced in that arc who come later on in the actual source material with a purpose and depth to them. Overall, it was a decent adaptation as it showed high potential but they chose to ignore an extraordinary chance of story telling; I would not be surprised if casual watchers enjoyed it more.

A very refined cat and mouse chase.

If you like watching enemy spy dramas, you can watch Peng Xiaoran and Liu Xueyi's #TV series Unshakable faith#. The CVB peak of this drama has broken 3. In more than ten episodes, the plot is still quite engaging, and the enemy is so dense that it keeps challenging you, which makes people try to guess endlessly. Let's talk about this briefly.
The background is the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, GJ engaged in the key secret water drop project (submarine construction), and the plot revolves around the protection of experts, anti-security projects and sabotage. enemy.
Peng Xiaoran played the female public security Pang Hongmei, who was not very calm at the beginning, a little irrational, and a little underestimated the enemy's cunning, but was good, vigilant, intuitive and highly observant, and willing to make up for her shortcomings.
Liu Xueyi is a returned mathematician Ji Danyang, a computer man, mature in appearance but a little simple like a genius child inside, has not been defeated by the enemy, likes to be free and unrestrained, and has a rebellious psychology against attention walkthrough by Pang Hongmei. However, his mathematical ability also helped Pang Hongmei solve some cases.
In the special enemy line, the identity of Bai's father and daughter is the core, Kan Suzi plays the second woman Bai Hui, and Ding Yongdai plays Bai Hui's adoptive father Bai Minghan. Father and daughter were constantly involved in various sabotage incidents, and were invited to interrogatory by the special team from time to time. Bai Hui looks like an innocent little white flower, but as soon as she comes out, some people suspect her. Bai Minghan, the public in the comments, will think he is evil for a while, and will think he is a good person for a while. In more than a dozen episodes, the identities of the two were reversed. The change in perspective of the characters urging us on is quite strong.
Pang Hongmei, Bai Hui and Ji Danyang have emotional lines, but the emotional lines appear after a dozen episodes, because they mainly catch spies or take care of the development of the submarine.
The plot isn't the high-energy brain-burning kind, nor is it strong logic, but the narrative and pacing are very well controlled, and that always keeps the audience's appetite, and it's quite delicious. If you are interested, you can take a look.

Beautiful love story!

This xianxia revolves around a powerful "evil" lord, Dongfang Qingcang, and the little Orchid fairy who accidentally frees him from the prison he has been in for 30,000 years, and puts him under a spell in the process. The plot follows them as Dongfang Qingcang does all he can to take advantage of the situation and rise to power once more, and Orchid does her best to hide her new companion from the other immortals, and change him for the better.

What stands out immediately in the story is the characterization of the two protagonists, who couldn't be more different from each other: Dongfang Qingcang is practical, strict, always serious and straightforward, and has little to no care about what others might think or feel; Orchid, on the other hand, is very emotional and innocent and always tries her hardest to make sure that the people around her are happy and at ease, even at her own expense. The two of them grow to appreciate each other from the little things, and slowly grow and evolve emotionally as well. I really liked how the changes in their behavior and their attitude toward each other felt very natural; both protagonists are very different people in the second half of the drama, and I didn't question this change even for a moment. The story takes place in four different "arcs", so to say, each of them very relevant for the evolution of Orchid, Dongfang Qingcang, and their romance.
Overall the plot felt very solid to me. There were a couple of times when I felt like it was getting too slow, and also a moment when I actually wished the events had more time to unfold properly, but it didn't hinder the story.
All the characters were amazing. The two protagonists gave amazing performances and I was very impressed by their versatility to portray such complex characters in particular: the cast was just perfect for all the roles.

The quality of the production was pretty good, I really liked the props and the costumes and the CGI was pretty impressive in my eyes as well. The OST also has to be one of the best I've heard in a drama; I don't think I'll ever be over the opening theme in particular.

There are some elements that might stop people from watching (namely: Orchid's voice in the first half of the drama), but I feel like you should still give it a try if you like the genre. I did and I certainly didn't regret it!

It could've been done better, but they chose not to.

Started this drama because of SWDBS, which is one of my favourites of all time. However, this drama fell terribly short compared to SWDBS. At first, I thought it was unique because we started good with the story— how the villain was smarter and the whole premise of hunting down the root of this whole drug chain. I have to admit, the story here was more interesting than SWDBS because it has more depth. However, why did they chose to give us crap the whole duration of the drama?

First, the female lead. I get how she was clueless when she arrived for the first time in South Korea. But she didn't change at all. She was immature and child like all along, her character didn't develop one bit.

Second, the romance. It gets me frustrated how we got to see A LOT MORE cute fluffy scenes between the FL and the villain but almost none was given between her and the ML. Why are we shipping the villain with the FL more than the ML? Besides, there is no chemistry at all between the FL and ML. It's like we were forced to think the two love each other even though we were not given much scenes to feed that fantasy. And it's annoying how the FL just went around flirting with the villain then going back to the ML like she loves him all her life.

Third, the villain being the most pitiful yet given the worst treatment and ending ever. I believe his past was enough to give justice for his actions, but how come they had to use the FL to make another heartbreak for him? Are we supposed to hate or empathize? There's so much going on with him, almost making him the main character rather than the other main leads.

Fourth, Namsoon's neglectful mother. She'd rather save the world than give a f*k about her children. She's been thought as a mother who cares about her children, but in reality, she was really neglectful of them— she doesn't even know what's going on with her son and to think she's so willing to give Namsoon a difficult job that could endanger her life, like she could easily die even with that immense strength. I liked the father more. He was more parent material to his children.

Fifth, the unnecessary love line between Namsoon's grandmother and a barista. I swear, they got more lovey-dovey screen time than the main couple. I know it was for comedic purposes, but who the hell cares we don't need them and they were so cringey all the way.

I'm really mad I have to force finish this drama in hopes of watching a better ending or development, but to my dismay. I should've dropped this earlier. Giving this a 5 for the supposed to be good storyline plus good start. But everything fell off so this also fells off as the worst kdrama I watched this 2023.

I love this drama soo much. Love the casting, love the story and everything in it. I love how patient the Female Lead to wait her first love to love her back. And i love how Male Lead fall in love with her back. The way he love her, protech her, the way their jealous with each other. It also tell the love of the family, parent to their daughter, the love of a brother to his sister and how he protech her eventhough their always querrel when they see each other. She fell first but he fell harder. So sad not to see their wedding. Hope there will be second season. To see how their marriage life, to see their baby and see how lovely couple their are. Very recomended to watch. I hope to see the ML and the FL in other drama.

Uberly Cute

This is such a cute, wholesome drama with an insane premise that’s probably suffering in ratings and views because of its frustrating airing schedule. I love the FL and enjoy her acting, and this time Cha Eun Woo has actually done a good job too. I usually find his acting stiff because of the roles he plays, but playing an older character seems to have worked this time. He’s still very cute and I find the romance between the leads to be heart fluttering,

The plot itself is a mix of fantasy and thriller. The premise almost seems ridiculous but it’s well adapted. There seem to be few differences from the webtoon but those elevate the story so far, I hope when I edit this review, I can say that the ending lands.

Those that don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it

First, this show has nothing to do with Soundtrack #1, if anyone is wondering, other than them using the same bar/restaurant. You don't need to watch Soundtrack #1 before watching this.

This show actually made me mad. It's been a while since I have REALLY not cared for a FL. Here we have a wonderfully talented pianist, who loves playing the piano, but has decided to give it up. She has had surgery to her wrist and sometimes gets pain and stiffness, so she's going to forego all of her training in piano, the fact that the only time she is happy is when she is playing piano and become a food delivery person. We see her struggling to pay bills, we see that she hates being a delivery person. I don't feel her struggle. I see that she is prideful, she's got that "poor me" mentality going on, and we see her either sitting in corners being unhappy, or looking at the city, being unhappy. This girl would benefit greatly by some occupational therapy for her hand and a good therapist.

Then, the relationship. First, she's always mad at the ML because he doesn't have any money, doesn't seem to have any drive, and has delusions of grandeur. This was one of the reasons for the breakup (but, in my opinion, she was always so unhappy with herself that she would never be happy with another person). Years pass and they cross paths again. Now that he is successful, she's mad because he DOES have money! We see that she is STILL not happy with herself or her life, so why would we think the relationship would be any better?

Triangle - pointless.

I'm a sucker for a happy ending. I wait until shows are completely released so I can find out about the ending from others. If it's supposedly a romance and I invest hours in a show, the whole romance (to me) is a waste if the leads don't end up together (25/21, I'm looking at you!). That being said, the writers of Soundtrack #2 made a big mistake with having him show up at the airport. It would have been much better if she had just gotten on the plane and left by herself, then in my mind I could have convinced myself that she was on a voyage of self-discovery and would eventually get herself together. But this ending is like waiting for the other shoe to drop, you know they will ultimately break up again.

A dating show that doesn’t feel like a dating show

What in the kdrama is this but also feels so organic and refreshing? I haven’t watched many dating shows because they doesn’t usually give, but Transit Love 2 is such a good surprise. From the very first episode, the cast holds your attention and you begin to get curious about them. Their interviews are fun to watch and one thing I love is how interesting their dates are. There’s awkwardness sometimes, of course, but it feels very natural. There were few cast members I ended up cheering for and I’m glad that they found their happy endings. For some others we get to see how they change, and no all words in their interviews show in their actions. So honestly it’s up to the viewer to analyse the subtle behaviours despite the editing to frame the story.

Few things to take away from? Noona love can be cute af without being overbearing, and introverts selectively enjoy doing things with people they like and those don’t will probably never get to see their personalities, it’s easier to be a toxic partner and still be a good friend, toxic traits in relationships are not noticeable when you’re the one in it,

I tried watching the first season after this and it didn’t quite hit the same, I don’t know how the next season will top this. Added an extra star for the final few episodes and the story execution. How massively difficult it must have been to wrap it all up!

Watch without knowing the synopsis

When this drama was air and appear in my FYP, i literally ignore it as I know none of the Main Casts except Offkey who I recalled watching him in another drama. But what intrigued me to watch was the review I hear and seen. Therefore here am I minutes after finishing the 33eps.

From beginning till the end the plot was seamless, the flow and continuity was so smooth. And the storyline was relatable to those who a fan, supportive or bias of particular singers, idols, groups, actors or actresses.

The filming location showcase the beautiful rich culture of a city, and the foods showcase how a good recipe can start a conversation and create relationship.

The beautiful voice of the MFL add on to the soothing and healing OST.

The part that touch me most is when the ML make an unexpected 'announcement'. I literally cried as I am a fan to a BG and able to understand the feeling upon knowing the 'announcement'.

What I consider the shortfall will be the adept love line of 2MFL and 3MFL couple. For the viewer, the love is there, can really feeling but wasn't up-front like our Main Couple. And the officially 'announcement' of the Main Couple. I wish our ML really said the words in that beautifully city or the last location to make it a full circle.

All in all, applaud to the team LMLMV, Producers, Directors, Actors and Actresses. It's a great drama to end the 2023. Easy, full of love, friendship, partnership and family-bonding DRAMA. Do give this drama a tried and do watch with chill feeling.

BEST KDRAMA OF 2023

I don't know about you, but this for me, is the best kdrama I've watched this 2023.

Moving has such a never before seen plot, story and characters. To be honest, I started this drama because it has a high rating in MDL. The story and how the kids having these supernatural abilities didn't quite intrigued me at first. However, as the story progressed, I get to know a lot of characters. First off, the parents. They all have that certain character who played an important role in the drama. I liked how each detail was perfectly woven together. From their meetups, to their amazing display of abilities— I think all characters have that likeable characteristics with them. I literally did not hate or dislike any of them. I thought the flashbacks was way too long, consuming majority of the episodes. Some were even confusing as we get to jump back and forth from a date/year to another date/year. I thought, "Hey when am I getting the story for the kids? How are they supposed to prove themselves in this drama?" However, everything was made efficiently. It was to build up the story and to put emphasis on how this kids get to have their abilities. Now, I believe this season was more about the parents rather than their children. As I've said, it was perfectly woven, not overwhelming, and the chemistry between each and every character was perfect. I've never seen something like this before; a perfect blend of supernatural, gore, thrill, romance, and little bit of comedy.

I'll repeat this again, everything about this drama is PERFECT. I know, a season two will be inevitable as the latter part of the drama showed us something was up for us to look forward to.
