I'm new to BLs, so this was my first time watching Earth and Mix together. Personally - I didn't have a problem with assuming Earth was late thirties, I would have assumed by looking at him that he was mid thirties. So I didn't have a problem with that. My issue was more that this series was too short - it needed another couple of episodes for the emotions and story to be fully fleshed out.

That being said, it is absolutely worth a watch. None of the acting, even the small parts, is wasted.

Gemini and Fourth (Heart and Li Ming) are the stars of the show, without a doubt, as previous reviews will state. I will watch anything with them in it together at this point. Gemini's acting while only saying a couple of words throughout the entire series was so perfect and I loved to see the portrayal of a character with a disability (though I do wish we had gotten subtitles for more of Heart's sign language). Their story alone would make this show worth watching.

Overall I really enjoyed it, I just felt there was more to tell that didn't fully get developed. But, worth a watch for the GeminiFourth crumbs and ensemble cast nonetheless.

Most twist Plot of xianxia drama

Fuhhhhh
I not sure what to write because this drama is masterpiece
Will try to write the beginning till end and if you ever watch it please dont skip 1 episode especially ep 30-40

Since the beginning happen at the immortal world and how she become ye xiwu is tge starting point
I love how susu become xiwu and how susu treat Jin si different from Old Xiwu
With the treatment that she give and how she protect Jin untill Jin open his heart to love Xiwu is so lovable
We can see that even though Jin is planning for the revenge he still fall in love with Xiwu
But heartbreaking that Xiwu only think about to take the devil bone from Jin

Even after Jin take over her kingdom he still protect Xiwu family even previously they really treat him like rubbish

You can clearly see he really fall in love for Xiwu till the moment she die
If you think the plot will be weaker after Xiwu die
Its not

All the plot and relevation is open after xiwu die
And if we think that Xiwu need to sacrifice himself
Obviously not

One of them need to die to kill Devil god
And obviously last moment sacrifice himself and become puppet for Devil God and die.

Fuck

In the last episode if you think they Jin will reincarnate
no
He will not reincarnate
Unlike some of Xianxia drama they will make the ML/FL can reincarnate
Not for this one

They have ill fated relationship
One of them need to die and Jin sacrifice himself for Susu and the Clan

One of the heartbreaking drama But i think ML could done better because Bai Lu has set her high standard for the acting
Im really thinking Devil God could be play Wang Hedi
Because of previous drama he has the charisma for the devil god

Is the rabbit god or a physical representation of guilt?

Above all else, everything about the production and the acting is superb. Major props to the direction and lighting department because the atmosphere and the cinematography are on point from start to finish. The strong Christian theming is consistent not only in the episode titles but in the sound design and the dialogue as well. At times, I felt as though I could hear the organ pass judgment on the characters as it sang its requiem. For a horror/thriller that wants you to know that there is never truly a moment of peace between you and your sins, these elements come together flawlessly... even if the music did seem to be a bit distracting in places.

The story itself is well-crafted, but it wound up being reliant on predictable twists - partly because it does a fantastic job of laying out clues for the audience to pick up on and partly because the tropes the plot settled on feel a bit underwhelming for the genre. Make no mistake: it is meant to be a messed up tale, but certain details in the execution just were not my cup of tea even for horror.

I have never read the manga this miniseries is adapting, but Nana's story is very reminiscent of the way people cope with religious trauma. Each time she talks about Ryo in religious terms instead of directly stating what he did to her gives off the strong impression that she struggles to frame what happened to her in a way that doesn't use Christianity as an explanation or justification. With that in mind, I am left with far more questions than answers.

All in all, I would recommend this series to anyone in search of a story that makes you think and maybe leaves you a bit confused.

Not worth it

Total failure as a mini series. With only having as much time as a full length movie, this drama should not be using flashbacks. Yet there are frequent flashbacks as an attempt to prove the characters development of romantic feelings towards one another.

Watching this series was like listening to nails scratching a chalkboard. The poor scriptwriting, acting, direction, production and audio make it painful to watch. The concept was a good, but it was executed so terribly. I've never been so pained while watching a time travel drama.

What a waste of a good idea. I would rate it a zero if I could.

Really fun movie

The first scene got me thinking that this movie was made by a man for men. You know, bikini clad women in some action, guns, blood, the usual.

I wanted to change the channel but then, the fight scenes started and I was hooked. I decided to stay and let's say I had a great time!

I don't care if this was made for men or not but I enjoyed this movie. Badass girls sticking together, and will literally die for each other is one of my favorites. It might not be Hollywood but the fight scenes were okay!

It's got some dry humor deliveries I love and the girls are really so sweet. I was just watching totally spies yesterday so I was kind of getting that vibe.

Overall, it's a fun movie. There's a bitter part but you'll get over it before you know. Definitely going to rewatch when I have the time.

If you're fond of women centric movies then this is for you.

If TRASH is personified, I know it's this one.

Honestly, i could write a list of headlines to describe this work but it's not even worth the energy.

DO NOT WATCH.
(Or do but be prepared for the disappointment)
Can you guess where it belongs? A GARBAGE BIN because it's a pile of ABSOLUTE RUBBISH.
I didnt read the webtoon but maybe it's better written there even with the same narrative? i dont know...

This 2nd season has no relation whatsoever to the first. If this was supposed to show me how the classmates have become a true one unit highly dependant on each other, cooperative, considerate, then it's done so really badly. The pace is unbelievably slow with noooo real progress in the depth of their connections. Suddenly people are a couple and there's a love triangle like what? What situations led up to this in the first place? We definitely do not get to see that. The villian at the end? No true long time build up; it just escalated like that out of the blue because the writers forgot there's got to be evil to get a closure.
The post-credits scene was unnecessary and should have been in the first season. The addition would have been great as a comedy relief and as a nostalgic tribute. After the ending of season 2, it's almost pointless to see.
I like to believe, as many others I'm sure, that the true ending of the series is either episode 6 of season 1, or the pre-credits scene.
I gave points solely to honour the idea that on our Earth there's something much more worse than human-eating aliens, and for highlighting the pressures of being a high schooler in Korea (albeit extremely dramatic really). But story wise, direction wise, acting, everything was terribly executed. There's even an episode or two that are entirely useless..

P.S. If you really want to watch it, do so at 1.5x and save yourself some time instead to use on a better written work.

Glad I didn’t read the reviews first

I just read a lot of bad reviews and I am sad this isn’t more popular. I know this series has a lot of issues but, call me crazy, it’s one of my favorites. I completely fell in love with this.

Ai fell in love at first sight. He is super hot and tries his best to win Nhai over. He is so kind and patient and thinks everything Nhai does is cute. Doesn’t everyone want a partner like that?

Nhai is spoiled rotten and is selfish and forgetful. I loved the whole losing the ducky keychain thing. Super cute. He was annoying when he threw the cactus in the dryer but quickly apologized.

This just emphasizes how good they are matched. Nhai is spoiled and lazy. Ai is not and wants to take care of him. They are perfect together. There are plenty of love scenes and they didn’t disappoint.

I thought there was plenty of story especially when you add in AI’s mother and sister and the whole con job they pulled. That broke my heart. But so proud of Nhai for standing up to her.

The worst part for me were the subtitles. At times they were wrong or off timing. I didn’t know who was speaking. It got progressively worse throughout the series. if they could fix this I would rewatch over and over.

Worthy but not necessary

I haven't read the webtoon so this is based only on the series.
This was an interesting take on the apocalytpic genre woven into the dynamics of being a high schooler. The idea is quite creative and while the storyline could have been much more intricate and the season longer, it's still a good watch if you want something quick and adrenaline rushing. I would have definitely liked more episodes focusing on the backgrounds of the characters in depth, and the bonds between them and their superiors. For a long time, I couldn't memorise their names either because there was not enough spotlight on a few characters at one time...

There were some annoying and frustrating characters such as the cowardly girls who wanted to leave everything and run away. The constant whining, scream-crying almost made me drop the episode or skip the scene, especially when the dialogue repeats itself at least twice in a single episode. I almost felt like slapping them so i'm surprised at how and why the opposite characters were soooo good at holding back and not lashing out at them in times of emergencies (it would have been understandable if there were more clashes)

P.S. it's better to assume that this is a solo work with an open ending instead of watching season 2. You're better off without it :-)

Bloody Romance? What romance? ?

I started this on a whim and funnily, I had already been a fan of the opening OST so I was excited and had big expectations.

At the beginning, they really held my attention and because of the unique plot idea, it was setup to be very magical and give something new. First ep, and encounters, I loved.

However, as the show progressed and I held faith, I never found it getting better. It was always anti-climatic in a sense, here's why:

Plot wise: The beginning was gold, such a great point to start on from, but as the episodes went on, I felt the storyline and production to get sloppy. I understand this is based on a book so I'm unsure if the script was changed by a lot or a little but it just got disappointing. We were always told something big was coming and being arranged, but it was never really giving anything when it did come? Especially in the end. In later episodes, we didn't get the filler we needed. I think it got dragged around halfway which was upsetting, so imagine when i finished the drama and we got whatever they call that as an ending.

Character wise: They were Beautiful. There was some amazing character personalities throughout this drama but to be honest, after the MCS first few interactions, it went flat. I'm not sure if it was the actors fault but the male actor that played Chang An was conveyed so mysteriously and beautifully at the start, as well as FL but then he was simply just boring as fuck. He just never showed any reaction or much reaction, like the female lead and it just looked silly? And....Chang An clearly was not meant to be a king, we could see that, it always looked like he had no damn thoughts going on behind that head and never showed any other reactions other than blank stare. It reminded me of a stubborn rock in the middle of a path that just wouldn't move and would cause inconvenience to everything to pass. That can be said for the main three characters. Wan Mei was nice, her arc seemed promising but when the drama came to an end...what the fuck had she actually done? ? all of that damn drama and work for nothing. She just preached about wanting to do something and did nothing logical. There was so much influence for martial arts but we never got to see her training or work hard for what she wanted and that was so disappointing considering the power dynamics were insane in this drama....leading me to the prince. His character was interesting, but he didn't have much of a backbone and i think we got to see that when Yue Ying supposedly left at the end to be alongside the emperor, and girl, i don't blame you. Running errands for a man and risking your life, making that apparent in every way possible just for him to not even acknowledge it, he was such an entitled idiot and I hated him from the moment he touched Wan Mei without her consent, which happened multiple times?? He was just a pig. Xing Feng was a silver lining in moments, Li Guang was a sweetie, Cha Luo was a crazy, villainous bitch and the moment I started to hate her, I just knew she took that role and did such a good job! The emperor of Jing was absolutely terrifying the first time I saw him, he had such a unique persona for a king, i've never seen one portrayed like that so it was refreshing.

Scenery / FX: The FL did a good job working with the special effects but they were so dead. Especially the ones when fighting, they were very poor quality and didn't actually give an "effect" to the watchers.

Overall without ranting too much, It could've done so well with higher production costs and better planning of the plot and adjustments to characters. Maybe that's just how the drama was supposed to be, i don't watch solely historical dramas with action, i watch mostly for romance, and especially romance being in the title, we were so let down. It wasn't consistent at all and watching the prince fawn over Wan Mei when she had rejected him so many times and made it obvious, it felt like they were just trying to fill the episodes. But yeah, i'm not sure what the aim is, whether it was to magnify about self discovery, loss or tragedy but it didn't hit the mark. All things could've been avoided in more ways than one and everything was quite inconvenient. It was pretty annoying to hear them always relay on "god" to determine whatever happens, maybe it was due to the time but yes, definitely not my drama.

Props to the actors and attempt at the unique plot.

Solid until ep 30

I've been waiting for the next drama on par with Ashes of Love and this although didn't meet that, it was a delightful drama overall. If you want action this is not it. There were definitely lots of lovey dovey scenes with > normal amount of pairings in a drama.

Wonderful Aspects:
-All that PURPLEEEEE <--- Hottest color
-Beautiful cast that can act!
-ML (which I was never crazy about) & FL had mediocre chemistry but there were plenty of laughs. I especially loved the FL Ye Tan. Thought she was just the right amount of silliness, cuteness, beauty & brains.
-2nd couple with Chao Feng & Qing Kui was definitely the best pairing in xian xia world with looks & chemistry.
-Gu Hai Chao (Chang Feng)'s 1st in command probably my favorite supporting character provided many comedic moments
-Strong supporting characters overall, few include: The wolf/dog/pup, the bird, the muscle head brother, and my favorite bad character the Void Queen. That beautiful badass mama you'd love to hate.
-Family relationships: Aside from all that coupling, I really loved the sister/sister, mom /son, & friends positive relationships.
-Cinematography / costume / makeup - One of the best aspects about xian xia dramas
-OST - yes overplayed and need a few more songs but the few songs are very good

And then after ep 30.....
-Story got sloppy, tiring and lost all the humorous moments. Scene progression didn't make sense
-One dimensional antagonist characters (both of the kings) got especially tiresome
-A bit overboard on # of resurrections & tear jerking flashbacks.
-Rushed ending with a summary narrative................ Aiyahhhh YYYYY

A Brilliant Drama

This Drama was Unexpected. Fresh, Intelligent, Hilarious in parts, Gentle, Loving, Compassionate, Brilliantly Acted, Fabulous, Perplexing, a lot of 'Gay' overtones, Realism. Fun. Edginess, Heartbreaking, Insightful, An incredible Kaleidoscope of Humanity. Perceptive, Creative, In short it was a Gem. Thoughtful, Transcendent, a bit of a fanciful at times,

Loved the restaurant and the Camping Scenes. and the leads amazing dancing and singing. The three bosom buddies ate and threw back enormus amounts of alcohol together through a large part of the Drama. Koreans seem to love their food and alcohol. Sadness. Joy, Cruelty, Every possible Emotion,

I really treasured this Drama with a difference. The Male lead gave a stunning performance and was supported by an incredible, awesome cast .

A MUST watch

This drama is extremely underrated, both the story and acting was great. Loved seeing the changes and development of the character. It was very realistic in the sense of what wheelchair users go through. This drama was a HUGE tear jerker, multiple episodes made me cry, the emotional roller coasters were really something but I loved it. I do hope more people would give it a try and see this beautiful Taiwan drama.
Plz give it a watch

Dismembered Dragon Lives On

This is my impression having seen the first ten episodes of this Xanxia:

It's not bad. It's watchable, and might even be..... * gasp* interesting!

Neo Hou isn't the most charismatic or versatile of actors. He only has two facial expressions, and, even when playing a character with a lot of power, he still ends up giving the impression of the nice guy next door, rather than a strong presence to be reckoned with. He has the presence of a short, nice guy who wouldn't necessarily win in an actual physical fight, but who is a nice guy, so you would cheer him on nonetheless. I bet some stubble would go a long way in improving his overall look. Nothing wrong with being androgynous, but it doesn't suit a character that is suppose to possess any type of strong mental or physical power. Lots of actors have femininity about them, but they are able to create a certain masculinity through characterization, other than just scowling. I don't dislike Neo Hou as an actor, and there are certainly much worse actors in Chinese Dramaland, but I offer this critique because I think it's valid. Certainly I find it difficult to dislike any actor who gives off such a positive "nice guy" vibe like this actor does. Can't help but notice his nose looks fake to me.

Our villainess is possibly the best written character out of the lot. She embodies all the negative aspects of female entitlement, greed, dictatorship, and manipulation, all in order to sooth the wound of being rejected and all as a cover for her low self-esteem. I found myself thinking this is possibly the best written antagonist I have seen in a Chinese Drama of the fantasy genre. The actress playing the villainess does such a great job here, despite being an icy and stoic person, she still succeeds in creating a rounded character.

Moving on, our FL, optimistic, naive, and even bubbly without being the village idiot. Well done to our FL and writers for writing a FL who is young without acting like a toddler. Our ML, though obviously supposed to be hundreds of years older than our FL, maintains a youthfulness about him so that the relationship never feels creepy or incestuous in any way. So far, so good. Doesn't seem like a really special drama, but doesn't seem bad either. Right now, it really feels "middle of the road", which is really good when it comes to the Xanxia genre. No characters I want to strangle have appeared so far. I hope the drama continues in this manner. Yes, the extras with the alien creatures masks on are totally cringeworthy, but I don't really expect a small budget production to be able to afford extensive CGI, and what CGI characters there are incredibly tacky, cartoonish, and out of place. Why they didn't just make them recognizable animal spirit characters from Chinese Mythology is beyond me, but that's OK. Story is what matters overall.

6.5 dragon horns out of 10.

Edit: It's getting boring now, and it's only at the eleventh episode. I might drop it now. The major obstacles have already been dealt with.

One of my favorites! Def would rewatch again.

Legally romance makes me so much emotions in every episode. I could feel happy and then feel absolutely destroyed and flabbergasted the next minute and then somehow shy, a very extreme emotional roller coaster. I can feel the emotions of the characters the actors/actresses. There's not much to critique about except the fact that the FL is sometimes annoying and a teeny tiny bit naive.

The music/sounds goes perfect with the lines and acting, I LOVE the cast. There's nothing much to say about how good this drama is, it's one of my favorites, somehow.

This is a drama I would erase my whole memory just so I can rewatch it again! (I hate rewatching things)

Because of this drama, I got obsessed to Richard Wang.

I am very picky with my dramas, and I love this drama. It is very heartwarming and cute, it makes me happy and want to watch more and since it has a generous amount of episodes, I'm always glad I wake up and I get excited to finish this drama.
The cast is great, the characters themselves and relationships are kind of shallow especially some of the side couples. I also feel like the story was really rushed even though they had plenty of episodes, I really wished there were more scenes with the MLs together. Some episodes I felt like was top tier content while some other episodes were kind of boring and kind of like a "filler". It was your basic emotional roller coaster. Don't get me wrong, it's a really good drama, I'm just not a big fan of the development of the story. There's structure but sometimes it feels really empty and rushed. The MCs are super cute, the ML was funny and is quite literally the reason why my type fluxuates, the FL was trying to be independent but sometimes like a lot of dramas I think their kind of Naive.
