I wanted it to be great
Things I loved1 The premise. so fun and original.
2 The ghost. Such a great actress and she did a fabulous job. She made me laugh and cry and it's rare to find such unique characters to rule for.
Things I liked
1 The FL. Unfortunately, and this is sad since she is one of my favorite actresses, the role didn't work this time. She was good, but she lacked personality which made me not care after a while. She's so talented and beautiful and I think the role would be perfect for her if the script was better. The script wasn't that good and her performance suffered.
Things I hated
1 The ML. I didn't like the actor, I didn't like his character, I didn't like the relationship with the FL, there's nothing left to like. All in all, I think he's not a great actor and the drama even with such lacking writing would have been better.
2 The ending. It felt like he wasn't in love with the FL which made me sad at first and then it annoyed me enough to lower my rating from 7 to 3. If a series fails at fails at the most important factor, here the romance, I don't think it deserves a better rating even though there were things I liked.

how to watch this again for the first time?
I don't even know where to start, but I will say I kind of regret not watching. This drama genuinely altered my brain chemistry. It was that good, and it has immediately gotten into my top list of favourite dramas in the world because I don't know if I'll ever watch something as beautiful as this. I personally have not seen that many romance K-dramas, but I've seen a lot of dramas in general, and this is easily one of the best ones I have ever watched. It was so entertaining and such a good story throughout, and there were no inconsistencies and no problematic scenes where, like, oh, it's so cringe, I can't. And it was the most perfect ending I have ever seen in a K-drama. Lovely Runner when it was airing, but I say kind of because I had the most phenomenal time watching it right now. And yeah, maybe it is the time that makes it better, but I waited two years to watch this, and I had such a good, good time. I don't even know how to explain how. I just wanna say I love Soi so much. She has worked so, so hard to protect the love of her life and the whole concept of this movie, of him trying to get her to love him, but all she wants is to keep him alive, and the only way to keep him alive is by making sure he stays away from her. This concept is so painful, yet so beautiful, and they are dependent on each other. I'm so happy that the last episode was just fluff. There were no problematic scenes, nothing. It was just them getting the true joy they deserved after 15 episodes of pain and suffering. That's all I wanted. I didn't want a 10-minute scene of joy. No, I got the full hour, and I'm very, very happy. Lovely Runner is one of the best shows ever, and I'm so happy to have watched it.Was this review helpful to you?
Time well spent
This is the first time a slow-paced drama is so enjoyable. In fact, I was feeling bummed when it ended! The romance was super sweet, and highlighted the innocence of love between 2 people that were well portrayed by 2 excellent actors. I loved every second of it.Park Eun Bin is so naturally beautiful and her acting is so good that you forget that she’s just acting. If you don’t believe me, watch Extraordinary Attorney Woo (on Netflix). She’ll make a fan out of you, even if you’re new to the world of k-drama.

The most wholesome barber shop ever
If there is one word to sum up this show, it's wholesome. This is by far the sweetest and most wholesome show I have ever seen.I watched it because Bogummy is one of my favorites and I am so glad I did. This made me love him even more. I had also seen Sang Yi and Dong Yeon from dramas before, but before this show didn't know their names, just their faces. After this, I will never forget their names and will watch whatever they're in. I have so much love for them now. These three guys have so much genuine care and love in their hearts and that was so beautifully shown in this show. Their friendship with each other was so beautiful and so cool to see. Their relationship with all the villagers was incredible to watch. The villagers are all such fun and kind people. I loved meeting and seeing all of the villagers so much.
This show was such a nice heartwarming thing to watch each week and I'm going to miss it a lot. I cried through pretty much all of the finale because I felt so emotional. Absolutely beautiful.
So happy to see it was already picked up for a season two! I love that the boys got to go back out there in their private time like they promised as well!

The FL annoyed me to no end
Things I liked1 I love the boss employee trope and I was looking forward to it, but in the end it wasn't as charming as I was expecting and hoping.
2 The ML. At first I thought he would be the problem since I don't find him handsome at all, but he won me over while the opposite happened with the FL. So weird.
Things I disliked
1 The FL. She ruined it for me with her annoying demeanor and when you add that I don't find it her pretty at all, she got on my nerves and couldn't care less about the plot.

An Authentic Gem That Never Gets Old
It’s honestly impressive how well this holds up considering it’s from 2018. I only discovered it a year ago, but it turned into an instant favorite—I’ve actually sat through the whole thing four times now. What really makes it stand out is how grounded the story is. You don't get any of that annoying, forced drama or over-the-top tropes that usually clutter these shows. Instead, the chemistry is just... there. It’s genuine. Seeing their relationship grow through the intensity of the volleyball setting feels completely natural, which makes it so easy to actually care about what happens to them. The balance is perfect. You get the romance, but the energy on the court keeps the momentum from ever stalling. It’s just one of those rare, authentic gems that doesn’t need clichés to be good. Even after four rewatches, the ending still hits just as hard as the first time.

Supporting Cast Steals the Spotlight
This is a solid GMMTV production with a really polished look, though the editing felt way too fast-paced for me—I really wished some moments could have lingered longer. While Sea and Keen are sweet, I’m still waiting for a stronger spark to develop between them. What really kept me watching were Java and Indy; their chemistry is great, especially those quiet stares and the genuine energy they have. They definitely bring the heart to this story, but even with them, the pacing issues kept it from being a top-tier favorite. Was this review helpful to you?

A good but dated drama
Things I liked1 The premise. It was fun and although some things were offensive I still think it wasn't that bad.
2 The ML. The actor did a good job conveying all these confusing feelings. That said, I never thought of finding other dramas as with him.
3 The FL. Same thing as with the ML. She was good, but I didn't care enough to find other works of her. That is usually a good indicator for me to how much I liked an actor. When I fall in love with someone I will put on my list and check everything they were in.
Things I hated
1 The toxic second couple. I cringed and hated every moment they appeared. I hate toxic relationships and these first generation Kdramas have so many of them. Luckily it has changed a bit.

Love Beyond the Grave is Truly the Best Fantasy Romance Drama of 2026
This is the absolute best! In the first quarter of the year, among all costume dramas, I rank this one No.1 in every aspect — screenplay, production, art direction, editing, pacing, soundtrack, and the performances from the entire cast. It’s truly premium quality, perfectly balanced, and flows so smoothly. Every single minute feels worthwhile; there isn’t a single unnecessary or boring moment. What stands out the most is the hidden “message” within the story — it’s layered with profound philosophy, life lessons, and deep insights. The dialogue is sharp, beautiful, and incredibly well-written. The portrayal of love is delicate, profound, and deeply moving. At the same time, the war and battle scenes are realistic, thrilling, brutal, and heartbreaking all at once.
I especially love how both the female and male characters are written with their own value and strength — no one is diminished or overly dependent. The chemistry between Dilraba and Chen Feiyu is out of this world — it makes you blush from the sweetness, yet the sadness hits extremely hard too. Wei Zheming also delivers the villain role with full power.
This is a one-of-a-kind xianxia series with a completely unique plot. The ending is cleverly done in both versions, leaving a strong impression. I’m truly amazed.

The plot twist was so unexpected
This movie My Blood & Bones in a Flowing Galaxy had the craziest plot twist ever. I thought this would be a cute story about one person getting bullied and another one (hero) rescuing her and falling in love, but wow, I did not see that. The movie definitely talks about the hero complex and how it sometimes can lead to so many issues, but also the psychology behind the person who wants to be a hero and maybe wants to be appreciated and recognized and loved. It's one of those movies that you think it's about something but is way more dark and different from what you expect it to be. So I would definitely tell you to go in blind; I think it would make you appreciate the movie, because the story takes you through everything, and you would end this movie with the realization this was crazy. It's definitely a great movie, dark and also more detailed than you think. Was this review helpful to you?

I was surprised by this drama's ability to dive into so many controversial topics surrounding celebrity life in Korea. While many other dramas touch on similar themes, they often focus on just one or two subjects, typically revolving around sasaeng fans. This particular drama, however, tackled a vast number of issues, which is likely why it stirred up such controversy in Korea. I just know fans watched this and found it annoying how the drama pointed out their own toxic behavior. There are quite lot of things they talk about
-At its core, the drama examines the unrealistic expectations placed on idols, how society perceives them as perfect beings devoid of human emotions. The pressure to maintain an image of perfection is immense.
-It sheds light on the complex group dynamics within idol groups, where friendships aren’t always as harmonious as they appear.
-The drama illustrates how misunderstandings can escalate, especially when people jump to conclusions based on photographs without knowing the full story.
-The portrayal of sasaeng fans is particularly striking, highlighting those who invade idols' privacy, even breaking into their homes. When an idol reacts negatively to such violations, it’s often the idol’s reaction that becomes a topic of discussion, rather than the serious issue of trespassing itself.
-The drama also raises poignant themes about the loss of idol group members and how public opinion can swiftly turn against them, often calling for punishment without any understanding of the context or circumstances involved.
-Additionally, the drama critiques the music industry, showcasing the detrimental role of CEOs and management companies.
as well as the relentless paparazzi who manipulate stories for profit, distorting reality in the process.
-It explores the dichotomy of fan relationships, as some fans profess to care deeply for their idols, all while fearing association with the more extreme, obsessive fans.
-The complexities of dating as an idol are also explored, addressing the societal expectations about who idols can date and the inevitable pressure leading to forced breakups. The idea of clandestine relationships is prevalent, revealing how fame can even affect an idol’s family dynamics.
One poignant subplot involves a mother who exploits her son’s fame for personal gain, showcasing the darker side of celebrity life.
Although the drama covers an impressive range of topics, the one aspect I found less enjoyable was the romantic plotline where the idol falls for a fan. I believe a platonic love or friendship could have served the narrative better, but perhaps the creators wanted to illustrate the dynamics of dating in the public eye. I would say the acting was not always the best or the storyline sometimes felt a bit rushed; however, I think this is a brilliant drama as it covers so many aspects of being an idol/celebrity in Korea and it deserves so much praise. I think for anyone who is not familiar with the Asian entertainment business, this drama could highlight so many aspects. It's definitely a drama that you should watch.
