Such a fun watch

This felt like sunlight on my face after a long week. Not life-changing, not devastating, but genuinely fun in that easy, comforting way that sneaks up on you. I went in without huge expectations and ended up smiling more than I thought I would. It has that soft, chaotic spring energy, feelings blooming too fast, people making messy choices, everything a little heightened and a little dramatic. It’s not perfect, and at times I wished it dug deeper emotionally, but maybe that’s not what it was trying to be. It felt light, warm, a little impulsive, like a crush you know won’t last forever but you enjoy anyway. And honestly? Sometimes that’s exactly what I need.

Enemies to Lovers? More Like Speed-Run to Lovers

The second I pressed play, I knew this was a manga adaptation. You can just tell. The pacing, the reactions, the dramatic coincidences ! if you know, you know!

Plot*
The story follows Mitsu, who starts university determined to move on from the trauma of her first love. She’s ready for a fresh start, new life, new apartment… and of course, because drama logic never rests, her next-door neighbor turns out to be her ex-boyfriend, Kaede. They haven’t seen each other in five years. It’s awkward. He’s grown up, somehow even more handsome than in high school, and suddenly all the feelings Mitsu thought she had buried start bubbling up again.

Spoilers ahead***

Now here’s where I started struggling.
When it comes to live-action manga adaptations, I truly believe there are only two outcomes: really good or really bad. There’s rarely a middle ground. And unfortunately, this one doesn’t land on the “really good” side.

We’re told Mitsu was traumatized by her first love. But we never really see it. I kept wishing the drama had started in high school ! show me the relationship, show me the heartbreak, show me why she’s still so affected. Instead, we jump straight into her new apartment and are expected to emotionally invest in backstory we barely witnessed. It just wasn’t enough for me to fully buy into her pain.

Then there’s the whole “chase” phase ( more like 5 minute). Mitsu resists Kaede at first, refuses to get back together… but honestly? That tension barely lasts. By episode three, they’re already back together. Episode three!?!?.
Where was the slow burn? Where was the longing, the simmering tension, the emotional build-up? It felt like the story hit fast-forward and skipped all the parts that actually make romance satisfying.

The love triangle didn’t help either. Kaede’s friend confesses, sees her dating his friend, and just… gives up ( like what??) That’s it. No emotional struggle, no fight, no messy confrontation. I kept thinking, “Is that all?” The drama insists they’re adults now, but the energy feels very teenager like! rushed emotions, shallow conflict, quick resolutions.

In the end, it feels underdeveloped. Everything moves too quickly, which makes the emotions feel thin. What could have been a layered, slow-burn second-chance romance ends up feeling like a checklist of manga tropes executed at a microwave speed.
I wanted more tension. More depth. More time to simmer. Instead, I got a romance that barely had time to breathe.

Such a sweet couple

I believe the two leads can act in any vertical drama and make it good because of their chemistry and how sweet they are, the only thing I don't like -just a general issue- is that they always casted in "Uncle romance", or what we call age-gap romance.

I don't know if they have other dramas with different genre but the ones I've seen are like that.

Story is not great so you will only continue because of the performances, be that as it may it was really sweet, MeiMei is cute as always, I just wanted it to be shortened a little, the whole accident and prison escape was completely unnecessary IMO.

Generally good, if you want something light with nice leads

I'm HOOKED!

After completing to my shore I was unable to find a gripping Y show and then Yesterday the series came and now I'm ADDICTED! Damn it's so fucking good and fortpeat can actually act. It's good to see them doing a
bl which has nothing to do with mame and memindy. The BEST part is that peat is doing a completely different role and he's slaying it like never before. Off topic but I hope bossnoeul can have the same opportunity as fortpeat.

Little Snack

I consider this series as a little snack, if you don't really wanna commit to a whole 12 episode 1-2 hours long series which would be a whole meal plus side dishes and dessert then this could be for you. In my opinion this is a perfect bite size for every story, it doesn't go too into depth but enough for you to understand what's going on and also enjoy it, the acting is good, not the best but its good, I liked some of the songs in some episodes, I liked the visuals, the chemistry, the kisses, the cuteness and wholesomeness of literally majority of the episodes, I liked how short they were and I also got to see many different couples with different dynamics and some couples shared the same universe too, and lastly I liked how each episode was a representation of mental health, ED, autism, etc. So yeah overall I think it was a solid series, just a little bit of this and that. I kept smiling every time an episode ended cause of how cute they all were and I'm glad none had a sad ending or a story too devastating, just very cute stories with happy little endings. Also I feel like with the name I expected this series to be very hyper-sexual and I think that comes from how similar the name is to "Kiss X Kiss X Kiss" and I haven't watched that series cause I honestly cant find it anywhere but I've seen clips and they're lowkey wild. But also this series has "SXX" at the end so yeah, there was only one story that involved "sex" and it wasn't even graphic or anything like nothing showed at all, it was left to our imagination, and I honestly love that, I like the innocence in this series. But yeah!

Overall a good 8/10

Wholesome and cute, loved the mothers

I am re-posting this review which I had posted on episode 2.
===================================================
I stumbled upon this show when it was first released, wanting a Korean dating show that didn't feel overly produced. The concept of the mothers being part of it is what made me choose to give it a try....and I was hooked from day one.

The culture felt very similar to the one I come from, which is that we are supposed to listen to our elders, especially our mothers. When you marry someone in my culture, we often time end up living with the in-laws. I was excited for each episode, found myself laughing, crying and getting angry with them. It didn't feel, most times, like they were acting or putting on a show. While I never forgot that I was watching a dating show and it was being produced, I could also feel strong emotions from certain couples that made me wish the best for them.

My two favorite couples were Han Gyeul and Eun Na Rae, I particularly loved Nae Rae's mother who was cute and very affectionate toward Han Gyuel, I was concerned about his mother since she seems more strict and traditional. Honestly, until the very last second of the season finale I was at the edge of my seat with this couple.

My second favorite couple was Min Cheol with Jin Joo, they felt like the cool yet pure couple. I love the way they interacted and the mothers interacted with them. This couple as well had me at the edge of my seat until the end.

Music was really nice and I actually enjoyed the commentary from the 3 hosts, it felt like we were watching it together and bouncing off each other's thoughts.

Looking forward to season 2 and I would def re-watch this, also recommend!

10 out of 10.

Excellent

This drama is excellent, the portrayal of such a serious mental health issue was done so well, and contrasted with the beautiful locations and the use of language. Very impressive. I have always liked Kim Seon-Ho so I was not surprised at his excellent performance, but the FL was new to me, I haven't followed her in any other dramas. I might now finally watch the second season of Alchemy of Souls.

Chemistry on fire!

verything was perfect in this series.

The chemistry was on fire that the angst and longing look so natural.

Storywise, I loved it! I love the backstory that the male main character has and had. It made his character so easy to root for. There was so much that happened to him, I love how he was able to rise through it all.

And the love. My goodness. The love and loyalty they have for each other is just so top notched. How she doesn’t flinch from all the underground dealings his been doing. She’s been with him through almost all of it. I’m sadden by the fact that he made a decision for her that challenged their relationship once again. Communication was one of the problems they suffer as a couple, thankfully, they were able to slowly fix it towards their third chance together.

Truly love this series! The lost of sleep was totally worth it.

It got better 2H

I enjoyed the first few episodes but ep 10-20 was a little slow. I put it on hold for several months but decided to continue on a few days ago. The story and the pace vastly improved after ep 20 and I was able to enjoy and finish the second half much more easily.

Dylan is top notch in this drama and the silly and sarcastic humor was enjoyable. I mostly enjoyed the secondary characters but the chemistry between the ML and FL was not that great. I wouldn’t even consider her the FL. There really wasn’t a FL in this drama.

I am now looking forward to S2. I hope it gets filmed and released soon this year.

A well-rounded romantic comedy with a charming small-town atmosphere.

A refreshing change of pace to actually watch a competent romantic comedy after some of the recent slop I had to endure. I'm looking at you Would You Marry Me? And Dynamite Kiss. It's well acted, somewhat funny, has a small-town romance(s), and a well-paced mature story despite the comedic backdrop.

First, the romance. Good natural chemistry between ML and FL. A mature romance between two actual adults (35+ IRL) despite the goofball that is ML. No stupid love triangles or miscommunication tropes. They don't have time for poor writing because they have somewhat heavy issues to get through. There is a younger high school couple and an older couple to round out that small-town feeling. Honestly, I wasn't very interested in the older couple, but it's fine.

Romance and comedy aside, the show actually has a solid story to tell. I think that's what the show does best in regard to the story is that while there are numerous topics to cover, the show doesn't dwell on any of them for too long. The central uncle plot and FL's allegations cover the entire 12 episode run here and there, but everything else is handled promptly and with closure.

Season 5 - Brought the Entertainment

I've watched every SI and I always start the season excited, but end feeling let down. This season was no different but I would say the "down" part of it was slightly elevated. I think the best place to start is to just list my likes and dislikes about this season. I will also write some on the contestants and the coupling up at the end. If you do not want to read spoilers then don't read the end of the review.

What I liked:
-Cooking together in a kitchen/eating place was back and I loved it!! Especially in the first few episodes when the contestants are meeting each other and flirting over cutting carrots and making rice.
-I thought the Inferno sets were really nice. The places the couples could hang out and talk looked comfortable and inviting.
-Paradise was enjoyable, which included some activities like bowling. It was nice that some activities were included as just watching couples eat and drink gets boring.
-Loved the couples photo shoot competition, and also the truth game they played.
-The competitions were also good. Matching up with colored balls where the pink ball was the kiss of death. Very funny!

What I didn't like:
-There is a certain amount of SI that just seems so contrived. Like the contestants are given a role to play and then they play it out, only some are really bad at playing their role. There are so many times when it doesn't feel natural with the contestants. But then reality shows are all about putting people in unnatural situations and see how they react.
-Dating is so different from this show. Korean dating is even different than this show. So it's frustrating to have to watch people "date" in an unnatural way. Really the only thing they do is have numerous conversations but they aren't allowed to know their age or what they do, which in Korea forms the foundation for how people communicate to each other, at least until they go to Paradise. So a great deal of this show is watching and listening to all these awkward conversations.
-For the first time, the panelists disappointed me. More often than not, when I was frustrated with the show, the panelists kept me entertained, but not this time. They did well in the first episodes, really funny and entertaining, but the last couple of episodes I found the panelists to be too judgmental. Almost mean. One example was when Hyun-woo made a confession about his feelings at the final dinner. I thought he was sweet and sincere. The panelists just made fun of him, and I thought what they said was quite rude. In Season 3, drama queen and asshole, Gwan-Hee, got away with so much bad behavior and the panelists for the most part excused it. In this season, they were especially hard on certain contestants who were not nearly as bad as Gwan-Hee.
-I didn't like that they cut out the final challenge and winning couple's dinner. We only saw bits and pieces. But they seemed to do this by making the final choice long and drawn out. I would have preferred the challenge and seeing the couple's date.
-It's getting annoying to watch scenes play twice, and lines repeated two or three times over.

My thoughts on the contestants and the couplings: Warning!! Spoiler Alert!! I actually do not believe any of these couples will end up together once the show is done. Let's just be real here. They are on this show for exposure and to inject some life into their careers.
1. Choi Mina Sue and Lee Sung-hun - Mina Sue was this season's drama queen and boy did she bring the drama. She was definitely the contestant everyone loved to hate. Sung-hun was a breath of fresh air for this show. Incredibly intelligent and successful, he didn't play mind games, just brought his calm and confidant self to the mix. He was a favorite of mine. He was really patient with Mina Sue as she proceeded to try on every guy on the island, but in the end they left together hand in hand.
2. Kim Goeun and Woo Sung-min- Goeun ended up being the female that three guys were vying for. She stayed mysterious to the very end drawing out the suspense endlessly in terms of who she would end up with. The panelists were all surprised when she chose Sung-min but I wasn't. She and her 2nd choice, I-geon, knew each other from a mutual acquaintance and I always wondered if she knew something about I-geon that we the audience didn't know and maybe it was a red flag(???). Who knows.
3. Kim Min-gee and Song Seung-il - these two were definitely the two funnest people on the island. They spoke very openly and honestly and said some things were just hilarious. They are the type of couple people enjoy hanging around because they're so funny together. My favorite of the season.
4. Lee Joo-Young and Kim Jae-Jin - they were the "artistic" couple. She a designer and he a dancer. They were really cute, romantic, and adorable to watch.
5. Park Hee-sun and Lim Su-been - a low-key couple that the producers tried to interject some drama into their relationship, but it just didn't work. They were cute and adorable but so very boring as well.
Others that didn't get picked - You can't talk about this season without talking about Jo I-geon. About as hot a guy as you can get. I saw him in the Kdrama The Trunk and he's smoking hot, hot, hot. He was brought on as a game-changer and he didn't disappoint. I'm sure he did this to get more exposure for his career and I hope he gets it. Also brought on as a game-changer was Lee Ha-eun. She got very little air time, but what I did see of her, she seemed really funny and a fun person to be around. Lastly, Ham Ye-Jin, Youn Hyun-Jae, and Shin Hyeon-woo who along with Ha-eun and I-geon were sitting there at the very end not getting picked. I enjoyed all of these contestants who came across as sincere and nice people. And it just goes to show that attraction is a weird and funny thing because sometimes the nicest people end up alone.

Good story, decent acting but sub-par editing and film production in general

The series had decent pacing and very good story, however, the editing was lacking in so many ways. wayyyy to much silence, lacking in music and music chosen often just didn't fit the scene. more so, they were some sound effects as it fits into the gnre of the series but they just stopped using them?? many scenes would've been improved with jsut some sounds and music.

It's not just that, the way some scenes were filmed was just odd. camera angles didn't suit or it was too zoomed out or not enough angles and shots.

At first i thought if the two mains had better chemistry and everyone had slidhtly better acting series would've been so much better. but then i came to the conclusion while it could've made some eps better, it could NOT in any way carry the lack of good editing and filmography.

It was doomed.
also some scenes oddly felt like low production like what's going on.

spoiler:
that before the last scene on the sofa:
felt like they had good chemistry and it was such a good moment but tell me why thE HELL is the camera zoomed out so much like it's not the time man, you gotta zoom in for that. i get the far away view, i see the vision but it should've been mixed in with some zoomed in shots.

maybe the were working with one camera idk.
would've been better if the whole scene was in closer view in that case.

it was so so so a very promising story but the execution OH BOY. it's not THAT bad but damn like some scenes whew-

for that i cannot recommend re-watching BUT if u haven't watched it and are okay with sub-par editing go for it.

the editing doomed the show. itwas so sad cuz the design team did such a good job for the into just for the editing team to throw it away.

it was consistent it makes me wonder if the editing team got changed mid-way. idk man. just sad. i didn't notice in the earlier eps.

also sadly the chemistry wasn't that great between the two mains also, i feel like the make up on Jane wasn't like, good a lot of the time? idk, i feel like they did her dirty. didn't notice anyone else having make up like that.

lipstick shade was often off and scenes where she's in bed u can see she's in full on make up,, like they could've given her a softer look but alright.

i know i criticize the series a lot but honestly even after all this it was good. the story does carry it. would've given it a 4.5 otherwise but the story carried it fr.

still in the end it turned out to be sub-par. but it had SO MUCH POTENTIAL.

edit:
also there's a lot of random story-lines that got abandoned. last eps was just odd. idk like dynamic shifted a bit but we didn't see it happen.

Single Inferno season 5 review ?

🌟 Singles Inferno Season 5 – Couple Reviews

1. Double J Couple 🔥 (Rating: 10/10)
The undeniable highlight of the season. Their chemistry was natural, their interactions warm, and their journey consistent from start to finish, just that they were not giving enough screen time,😞. I loved their balance of tenderness and fun, making them the ultimate ship. A perfect 10/10—i couldn’t ask for more.

---

2. Goeun’s Choice (Rating: 1/10)
This pairing felt forced and lacked depth. The critique that Goeun should have picked no one resonates strongly—there was little spark, and even friendship outside the show seemed unlikely. A disappointing endgame decision that left me unsatisfied and make me start asking what was she thinking through her journey on single inferno?pls some one let me know

---

3.mingee Connection (Rating: 5/10)
This duo had NEVER had a genuine chemistry even during Thier conversations. While mingee was genuine, sungill was trying to get clarification from mina sue which didn’t end up well, so he decided to go back to the easy target mingee, if any viewer thinks this couple has genuine spark then you should rewatch all Thier scenes together and you will find out that it was one sided.mingee is just a good girl any guy will have and be happy if only sungill was more like jejin then they would have been no 1 couple. This bittersweet pairing will not last but ultimately fizzled out.if you think am wrong please let me know why?

---

4. Mina Sue’s Pairing (Rating: 3/10)
This ship felt one-sided. Mina Sue’s choice seemed more about avoiding ending up alone than genuine romantic interest. While they shared a good friendship, the lack of balance made the relationship unconvincing. A clear “abort mission” for Sam.

---

5. He sun / subeen Pairing (Rating: 7/10)
They didn’t start strong, but over time grew into one of the season’s best pairs. Lack of interest from subeen didn't give me any solid ground on their journey through our the show. from rocky beginnings to a ungrounded connection was at lest better i appreciated hesun for always keeping the door open and as for subeen learn to follow your choice even though it leads you to nothing 🫵.

---

6. Imaginary Couple 🥺 (Jejin ❤️ Goeun)
Though not an official endgame, this “imaginary couple” who have captured my hearts .Their chemistry sparked imagination, during the photoshoot and the way they talk to each other during that period who have been epic if jejin had picked her from the beginning.i loved shipping them despite the show’s outcome. Proof that sometimes the best ships are the imaginary ones.

---

7. Singles Inferno Endgame Couple (Critique: "lack of screen time for some contestants)
The final pairing left me and many viewers frustrated. The outcome felt predictable and lacked excitement, with accusations of giving more screen time to those (like goeun and sun gill)that Will give the show more views rather than given all equal screen time what will make us know what was really going on how grounded was each couple. Instead of a thrilling finale, I was left underwhelmed, questioning the authenticity of the show’s climax.

---

✨ Final Thoughts
Season 5 of Singles Inferno was a rollercoaster of emotions—some couples shined with genuine chemistry, while others felt mismatched or forced. The Double J Couple was the best and stole my heart as the season’s best ship, while others sparked debate and disappointment. Overall, this season proved to be the best along season 2 .once again I am passionately rooting for their connections on the real world.

A quick and enjoyable watch that I am going to miss

Disclaimer

What I am writing here are my views and thoughts about this series. Some of you may not like it. That does not give you the right to try to come at me with your opinions on why this series should get a higher or lower score and why it is better/worse than I think it is. You have your own opinions, and I have mine. Kindly respect that.

Today marks the end of the series 'Spring Fever'. I adore this series so much that I couldn't wait for Mondays and Tuesdays to come so that I could watch the new episodes. Now, you may ask – is this series perfect? No, no, it's not, as I did get annoyed sometimes with the secondary couple. Yet, everyone else just made this series perfect. I, of course, fell in love with Bom-sik, the rescued dog. Whenever he appeared on the screen- he stole the show!

Besides Bom-sik, I can safely say that all of the secondary charcters (except maybe that of Choi Se Jin and her parents as they annoyed me to an extent) were enjoyable and I know that I will miss them as I have completed this series. This was truly a simple enjoyable rom com series to watch. I am glad that I gave it a chance as I would have really not know what I was missing. I would totally recommend this seires to others as it is relatively good.

Amazing adaptation

I've watched 14/32 episodes so far, and I can say I'm loving it. I might even say I'm suffering withdrawals from the lack of episodes to watch. I can't wait to see where this goes, it is a truly amazing drama, please give it a watch. The first few episodes are a bit cringey but once you get past that, it'll be smooth sailing.
