Slow Paced, story not bad not satisfying

Hey friend
Story is good, actor and actresses can make you feel awkward
It is slow paced so you can just skip episode 1-4 and start at episode 5 the last episode even if you do not watch it you wont miss anything.
If you want something to watch while you are on your phone this is it.
Until we meet again . Peace.

"I don't want their hearts, I only want the kingdom." Are you sure you don't want their heads?

Flying Guillotine 2 was the sequel to the 1975 film Flying Guillotine. Campier, bloodier, but less fun than the original, FG2 had a similar cast with people playing different characters because most of their characters were killed off in the first movie.

The Qing emperor Yung Jing is furious that the ex-Flying Guillotine Ma Tang has not been found. Ma is not the only worry Yung has, rebels have been trying to assassinate him. The emperor has continued to have righteous officials and scholars murdered which does not sit too well with the surviving officials or the people. The rebels led by Hero Jin are planning to mass on Hsia Mountain. Before they can leave, the F.G. squad attacks. Most of the rebels survive because Ma Tang arrives with his Iron Umbrella that can defeat the spiraling death caps. Both sides accelerate their arms race in the hopes of defeating the other and being left with their bodies intact.

Ti Lung took over Chen Kuan Tai’s role as Ma Tang. With a huge cast, his time was shortened compared to Ma’s prevalent screen presence in the 1975 film. Shih Szu played Na Lan, the daughter of a minister, with a personal grudge who was determined to kill the emperor. And one of my faves, Ku Feng, brought the authoritarian threat to his role as the emperor. My other favorite, Lo Lieh, was stuck working with Wai Wang who had no idea how to play off another actor. I could see Lo trying to connect with him as Wai looked like he was thinking about what he was going to have for dinner.

There were substantially more and longer fights than in the first film all competently choreographed by Tang Chia. The problem with having such a large cast though is that the stakes were watered down. It was hard to care about 90% of the characters and whether they were separated from their heads. The flying guillotines, even with their upgrades, lost their spiky menace as they decapitated random characters too fast to process. The first film gave weight to the characters and corruption that added suspense and concern.

Flying Guillotine 2 aka Palace Carnage was fast paced with plenty of action, yet it felt strangely hollow with so few characters to connect with on a screen plastered with bodies. It’s worth a watch if you like the actors or the guillotines, if you come into the film with low expectations. As always, I rated it on a kung fu curve, and was probably being generous with a 7.0/10.

24 March 2026
Trigger warnings: Decapitations, of course. Arms chopped off. Two scenes with naked women for no other reason than it was 1978. A bird in flight was skewered with a sword.

You will never feel the same way about Peaches after this drama (in a negative, cringey way)

“Peach Lover” is best enjoyed if you are watching at 1.25-1.5x speed. Otherwise, you will be bored to death. I realized this after a few episodes during a watch party when all we did was complain about the slowness of the drama, not just the plot moving slowly, but also people talking slowly, pausing between sentences and taking forever to finish that one sentence.

“Peach Lover” actually could have been a decent drama, if the execution is done right. It has a provocative angle via the lens of porn stars, with two individuals who carry their own baggage, and a story to tell how they are made for each other. Unfortunately, the screen time distribution between these elements is too uneven. We have so many episodes of just the two main leads hanging out at home, looking pretty, kissing, flirting, having sex, cooking and eating, and barely leaving the house. Then we spend maybe 0.5 episode on Po’s family drama, and a quarter of an episode on Sasom’s former peach lover drama, and then maybe one-eighth of an episode on talking about the porn video that may or may not happen by the end of the series.

Because the director is also the director of “Playboyy”, I was expecting a lot more out of the sex scenes. The expectations were high when you are talking about porn stars here. No matter how good the kisses are (and they are good), how good the chemistry is (and it’s good), the sex scenes did not live up to the expectation because it’s always cut short when it could have been daring. I was expecting the level of spice and explicitness to be the same level of what Korn and Tonkla showed me in “4 Minutes” or what Krailert and Naran showed me in “Shine”, or those in “Playboyy”. Am I unfair to expect this spice level? Fine, I admit I’m perverted. LOL Ok, finally saw something worthwhile in episode 7 but still….

Additionally, if you are a lover of the fruit, peach, you might never view it the same way again. The level of peachy preachiness in this drama is amazing. “Peach Lover” bombarded us with AI pictures, and then fed us with a whole bunch of peach analogy to compare it to romance and relationship. I am sorry, it’s just cringe to me. Maybe I could tolerate the analogy better if it’s not through AI art, or in such a preachy way.

That secondary couple? Horrible acting! What is the point of their story again? A bodyguard that doesn’t really do much and has the time to go flirt with his boyfriend. Their storyline is such an afterthought. You could totally cut them out of the drama and you would not even notice. There’s so much filler of nothingness in the drama that there’s plenty of time to develop these two characters and give them a proper romance.

Let me end on a positive note. Ki and Poom were given a horrible script, but they did the best that they could. They really do have great chemistry together. Their flirting is fun and the kisses are really good. Their bed scenes are shot beautifully and they gave it their all to make it believable. This is Ki’s second drama and first main role, and he did fine. Is it only me, or does Ki look like a mini Pop V from “Love Destiny”? Despite the slowness in Poom’s speech, his acting is good. I just don’t understand why the director make him utter his words and pause between sentences, instead of speaking like a normal human being. These two actors are definitely the best part of “Peach Lover”. Oh, they also look great together and have nice bodies and abs, which make many of their topless intimate scenes very enjoyable.

Unless you are in a mood to hate-watch and trash talk a drama, I would not recommend “Peach Lover”. This is a great watch party drama if you want to laugh with your friends about how ridiculous this is. I wish Ki and Poom would come together for another project with a better script. My 6.0 rating is for them, and the fun I had when hate-watching while laughing with my friends. Don't forget to watch in 1.25 or 1.5x speed.

Sometimes we have to stop running

Anazing actors, amazing chemistry, amazing story. some might say it’s slow but I think that’s the true beauty of the show. When one character is a literal professional sprinter, the slowness of life makes it all the more meaningful. I loved the character and I loved the romance! You have a strong female lead who stands true to herself and doesn’t let others knock her down. I would watch this show over and over again. My only critique is that while I love the second couple, some of the last episodes where a little too focused on them for my taste.

Fearless

If you prefer mature female leads, this one’s definitely worth checking out.

It’s definitely a unique series and won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. As a mystery thriller, I’m not expecting romance or a “Back to the Future” style plot like many current C-dramas that lean heavily on love stories or portray weaker female leads. I much prefer a capable, no nonsense female protagonist who isn’t overly cutesy.

Each episode keeps things engaging with its fast paced storytelling, although it can be a bit confusing at times when trying to keep track of the supporting cast. And as a BL fan, I’ve been especially excited to see this pairing.

Such a disappointment

I am being generous giving it 7 because I liked the actors and the attempt at the novel, but....
Viewers be aware:
👎you will not get more than 2 out of promised multiple husbands/lovers
👎You will not get a decent ending either
For the most part I was just curious what are they going to do with just 65 episodes 2 minutes each and it was actually foreseeable: shortcuts, butchered story development and weird non-resolution ending🤦
It was a fast watch and some parts (romance) was cute, but you will be frustrated with the result.
Pity, if this was more funded, it would have been a really good mini drama.

Refresing drama especiall leads life in "Lin'an town."

DRAMA OF THE YEAR!

This drama is exactly what a most-anticipated drama should look like- it’s serving way too hard. I’m literally screaming and getting goosebumps from the beginning, the actions were so good too! 👏🏻It 300% worth the hype. I'm enjoying. Every. Single. Episode.
For me, this is a refresing drama. No palaces' beautiful manson etc. its truly different.
The story, the setting it feels very promising. The cinematography really stands out.

FL- Xiwei is just an amazing & impressive actress who got the charm that pulls you in. Her visual is so breathtaking. Those big eyes of her is truly captivater' her smile with cutie dimples! Oh daaamn! She's aphrodite's prettiest handcraft. She slay this role effortlessly, cute and fierce. Her facial expression is on point and the way she embodied fan Changyu is a top tier. She is very endearing, a badass without being too perfect and mean. This actress really struck the perfect balance. For me, this is how you do F-centric drama strong and independent while being so kind.
ML- Linghe of course is a bonus! So handsome & stunning! Both of them straight out from the book.
Both of them are amazing to portrait their character.

Ning and falcon is so cute. ♥️
The squad and other cast is also perfect and funny! 🤭

The chemistry between her and Linghe is very electrying, so natural and effortless. I keep on giggling, kicking and screaming on their eye contact. There's alot of iconic scene of the leads and so far I'm loving it. Their love doesn't need to expressed in words, the way they stare each other have said it thousand times.

Haters gonna hate. I'm hooked and lovin' it!

An uneven experience: sometimes frustrating, but still engaging enough to keep you watching

Never Forget Your Enemy starts with a premise that immediately grabs your attention, but over the course of its eight episodes, it becomes clear just how much that initial idea is both its greatest strength and its biggest limitation. The combination of rivals to lovers and amnesia works well as a starting point, creating an engaging emotional conflict between past and present. The reveal that the protagonists were never truly enemies, but rather victims of misunderstandings and poor communication, adds a more human layer to the story. Even so, the development doesn’t always live up to its potential, and what begins as something compelling gradually becomes uneven as the series progresses.

The non-linear structure, shifting between different moments in the characters’ lives, is an ambitious choice that adds depth but also creates confusion. At times, the flashbacks genuinely enrich the narrative, showing how the relationship evolved and giving more emotional weight to the present. At others, the execution struggles to clearly distinguish between timelines, which hurts the flow and requires more effort to follow. This sense of disorganization becomes even more noticeable toward the final stretch, when the series expands into thriller elements, introducing more extreme conflicts that clash with the original tone and feel exaggerated or underdeveloped.

The writing is, without a doubt, the most problematic aspect. There is a solid foundation built around themes like memory, identity, and emotional reconnection, but the way these ideas are handled raises several issues. Amnesia, which should be the emotional core of the story, is treated inconsistently, both in how characters react to it and in how the protagonist’s journey unfolds. On top of that, the series tries to juggle too many subplots for its limited runtime, including stalking, revenge, unresolved secrets, and family conflicts, without giving any of them the depth they need. As a result, the narrative often feels rushed, messy, and at times even illogical.

The acting delivers mixed results, but not without clear strengths. The leads have strong chemistry, especially in more intimate scenes, which end up being some of the most convincing moments in the series. There is a natural ease in their physical interactions and an emotional sincerity that helps carry the relationship even when the script falters. However, technical limitations become more noticeable in heavier scenes, where the emotional delivery doesn’t always reach the depth required. One actor shows more confidence, while the other can feel a bit stiff at times, with a more limited range of expression. Even so, considering these are relatively early leading roles, there is clear potential for growth.

In the end, Never Forget Your Enemy comes across as an ambitious series that doesn’t always manage to support everything it sets out to do. There are undeniable strengths, such as the engaging premise, the chemistry between the leads, a memorable soundtrack, and well-executed intimate moments. At the same time, issues with the writing, narrative inconsistencies, and uneven execution keep it from reaching its full potential. It works best when approached as a romantic drama with touches of mystery, without expecting strict realism. It may not stand out as one of the most memorable entries in the genre, but it’s far from forgettable. Ultimately, it’s an uneven experience, sometimes frustrating, but still engaging enough to keep you watching until the end.

Not perfect, but deserving.

I have read the novel before and this was announced to be mymade into drama adaptation and I am thankful for the production who have chosen ZLH and TXW as the heroic duo because I am expecting a lot.

Every single plot has already been used hundreds of times. Simply because the concept is similar doesn’t mean the execution will be the same, just like what they did to The Legend of Female General, that was half baked for me and I still have a nightmare from it. Theres also many short dramas using this theme.

But what differentiate between this and others, of course high/large scale budget with premium actors, of course it changes the game. I love the Lian's village environment when they have no big conclicts,of course noisy aunties/gossipers, and some provoking people like Changyu's uncle/auntie, foul gossip grandma kang, song and his mother😂😂😂😂, her 5 debt collectors /hometown buddies, smart transmigrator Qianqian jiejie, and so on. Thankfully theres also countless good characters that make my days such Zhao family who going through thick and thin with her and many more that i lost count. The cutie Changning too🥰 she is too cute and lovable.

Yes disturbing characters like Qimin, Suiyuanqing so on..

Its only March but this has to be one the best dramas for me and until another dramas can top this, this will be timeless for me.

A lot of NC scenes with a lack of plot does not make a good series

Disclaimer

What I am writing here are my views and thoughts about this series. Some of you may not like it. That does not give you the right to try to come at me with your opinions on why this series should get a higher or lower score and why it is better/worse than I think it is. You have your own opinions, and I have mine. Kindly respect that.

So, I just started this series on a whim and did not know what to expect. And while it started off strong, I felt that for me, it lost its appeal as it continued. I am not going to complain about the NC scene because the premise is about a sensual account holder and their fan. What I have an issue with is the plot of this series – or lack of it. Let's be real – this series was unable to carry out a good and entertaining series on the plot that it was given – a weak-ass father as a villain, the return of the former peach and a secondary couple that just did not really hold my interest.

I will say this – Ki Niwat Naknuan, who plays Saom, did a good job with his character, and I am equally impressed, as this was his first main role. While I may personally think he needs some improvement (his emotional scenes did nothing for me), he was WAY better than "Poom" Nuttapart Tuntistinchai, who played Po, as I felt when he was trying to be seductive/sexy, it just came across as cringy as hell to me. And when he was trying to be tough to his dad, that didn't transition well to me, one of many viewers.

I have also learnt about unnecessary stuff about peaches that, who knows, may become useful in the future. But I can say as of right now, it annoyed the hell out of me. I personally felt that the last episode felt more like a special episode, as the majority of the episode really didn't have anything to do with the series (except for one aspect of it that I will not divulge, as it can be seen as a spoiler if I do). They just basically wrapped up everything with a nice bow with some flashback scenes here and there.

P.S. – I am not even going into the excessive use of lip gloss because that too was annoying me so much.

Nothing Groundbreaking but Very Solid

While very solid, there is nothing particularly special about Pursuit of Jade/Zhu Yu.

In terms of story it's nothing unique, the plot twists were are very predictable, the characters and their motivations unoriginal. The characters themselves are for the most part charming and well acted, if nothing that I haven't seen in a drama before, and the romance is believable. The chemistry between Fan Changyu and Xie Zheng is great and despite the frustrating back and forth they have in the later half of the show, they are very easy to root for.

Overall nothing was new, nothing was bad, and if you are looking for an easy costume romance you don't have to think much about, then this is a great show to pick up. Fan Changyu is a great character and is the best Tian Xiwei has ever looked and acted in my opinion so I am enjoying it, but I would probably not rewatch.

I would like to note that the Direct did put in some really cool scenes with the camera work and transitions. They were sparse but very effective when thrown in. I don't want to spoil them since some are important in the story itself but I really enjoy them when they came up, they actually encourage me to keep watching when the plot drags a bit.

A drama that blossoms, stumbles, shrugs, and dusts itself off.

I went into this drama expecting a light historical comfort watch, and for a while, that’s exactly what it was. The first half moves with confidence — lively, chaotic, and anchored by a heroine who actually feels competent. I did my usual fast‑forwarding through the more irritating relatives, but the early episodes had enough spark to keep me invested. And then the grandmother died, and the show quietly misplaced its center of gravity. It’s almost funny how quickly the emotional architecture collapsed once she was gone. My engagement didn’t just dip — it slid.

Part of the problem is structural. This drama has too many family members, and while each one technically has a story, a good chunk of those stories are unnecessary detours. It’s like the writers were afraid of silence, so they filled every available inch with someone’s grievance, someone’s redemption, someone’s side quest. I get the intention — a sprawling household learning to rise together, set aside petty nonsense, and become an actual family — but the execution is bloated. Half the time I felt like I was watching a group project where everyone insisted on presenting their own slide.

And then there’s Hua Zhi’s meteoric rise. Look, I love a capable female lead, but the speed at which she single‑handedly drags her entire family out of ruin and becomes a business powerhouse is… generous. Inspirational, sure. Emotionally logical? Not always. But the show’s message is clear: strength isn’t inherited, it’s built. You fall, you get up, you fall again, you get up again — and the Hua family does exactly that. Repeatedly. Sometimes beautifully, sometimes exhaustingly.

The romance doesn’t help the pacing. Once the leads become a couple, the story slows instead of deepening. Their chemistry leans more “lifelong companions” than “epic lovers,” which is fine, but not enough to carry the back half. Meanwhile, the show throws five couples at us in rapid succession, and their backstories feel like filler. Ironically, the pairing that actually charmed me was Shao Yao and Shen Hao — she’s unexpectedly endearing, and their dynamic has more warmth than the main couple.

Where the drama genuinely shines is the action. Yan Xi’s fight scenes are sharp, clean, and beautifully choreographed. The final assassination sequence — one man against a hundred trained fighters — is the kind of set piece that makes you sit up a little straighter. It’s thrilling. It’s cinematic. And it almost makes you forget how bland he is outside of combat. Almost.

The emperor, however, is where my patience evaporated. He punishes the virtuous (Hua Zhi and her family) while rewarding the blatantly villainous (Hao Yue). He brings her into the palace as the “immortal envoy” after knowing she orchestrated an assassination attempt on his own nephew. Unbelievable — and not in the fun dramatic way.

In the end, Blossoms in Adversity is uneven but watchable. When it works, it really works. When it doesn’t, well… that’s what the FFWD button is for.

One Puurrfect Series

I placed spoilers at the end of this review.

This was such an adorably cute series, but I may be a little bias because I am a cat person. Definitely watch this if you want a series that is not excessively dramatic. The script was mostly good with only a few weak aspects. However, it did a great job mixing the romantic, comedy, and drama aspects together. It also did a great job setting up the story and making you care about each character, including the cats. As for the romance, it had a nice even pace. The entire cast did an incredible job with their characters. The cinematography was good, but it had some weird shaky camera work in the first episode.

Random Note:

The location used for Tiger’s house was also used in the series “Rearrange” (Ek’s house), “Tale of Thousand Stars” (Tian’s parent’s house), and “SOTUS S” (Kongpob’s parent’s house).

The English subtitles were very good on GagaOOLala which is not always the case.

Completely off topic, but it was nice to see cats in a BL series that has the word in the tittle.

******Potential Spoiler Alert******

I only have one minor critique. They were not very consistent with Tiger’s allergy story aspect. He constantly mentions how he can’t touch cats, but then they show him petting and/or holding them throughout the series. I also think it’s odd that he was able to be in a room filled with cats. Again, this is only minor and did not stop me from enjoying the series.

You had me at cats...

This is a combination of a few of my favorite things, so maybe I can't write an unbiased review!

First, I love cats! A drama based in a cat cafe is calling my name. It's cute and cutesy. Everyone had fair warning of the silliness to come right there. I'm here for it.

Second, I'm a kifujin. So now we have cats in a cat cafe with men kissing? Yeah, let's do this. Who knows the Japanese word for old cat lady that watches yaoi?

Third, while I'm not the biggest fan of all the ships, I do enjoy this one. They can convincingly do hot and sweet. This was such a silly story but their portrayal was never cringe. Good job, guys!

Honestly, I probably wouldn't watch this a second time. But I'm glad I watched it the first time around. I like dramatic, emotional, intense BLs too, but sometimes you just need a cleanse. This was perfect for me! Happiness restored!
