Ambitious, thought provoking, engrossing drama
This show has something that so few other dramas even seem to be aware of as a narrative device--thematic resonance. The show asks the question "What makes a story worth telling?" and explores the answer in a focused, thoughtful, and compelling way, with every single scene and line of dialogue serving to point back to this ultimate question in some way. And all while resisting the lazy urge of giving easy answers. The answers aren't for the show to decide, they are for the viewer to come to their own conclusion about as they watch this particular story unfold.And what a story it is! Part psychological thriller, part slice of life, part coming of age, part mature romance, part family drama, even with a hint of absurdist comedy at times. The tonal shifts are handled flawlessly, helped along with a truly phenomenal score/soundtrack and a slew of stellar performances.
Choi Hyun Wook plays the ever-shifting Lee Kang with such understated intensity that the most mysterious character in the show somehow also feels the most grounded and real. The director lets you sit with him often, showing long close ups of his face, daring you to try and figure out what is truly behind his eyes. The moment you think you know, the next scene will make you question yourself, and the next scene question yourself again, but you never lose the feeling that there is SOMETHING yet to discover about him. He is a major source of tension and intrigue as you eagerly await what he will say or do next, and a truly captivating performance from what I think is the most promising actor of his generation.
Heo Mun Oh as the depressed, lost, and obsessed writer is the center of the story in a powerhouse performance by Choi Min Sik. Mun Oh is not likable or particularly charismatic, and yet he is so completely compelling. Despite so much that makes him unpalatable, Min Sik never lets us lose sight of what makes Mun Oh human, and I was fascinated and often extremely moved watching his character evolve over the course of the 6 episodes.
With an exception here or there, the side characters were also very well acted and help carry the extended side plot scenes without the leads so that they didn't feel draggy or bland.
This is a show that won't spell everything out for you, because while the show resolves in a satisfying and full way, it will leave you with many unanswered and unanswerable questions. This is actually one of the greatest strengths of the show, since in order to truly engage with it it demands you take time to digest it and mull it over even after the final credits roll, making it have a lasting and deep impression if you let it.
Were there some parts of the story I might have executed differently? Sure. I think the final twist could have been foreshadowed better, I might have spent less time in the second half on the side story with the family and more on the interactions between our main duo, and a couple other things here or there. But those few things cant and shouldn't overshadow a show that on the whole feels like such a breath of fresh air in a sea of muddled, cliche, rom coms and thrillers. At only 6 episodes, it is well worth the time and effort.

Double Helix (2026) – A Drama That Exceeded Every ExpectationEvery year, a drama comes along that completely immerses you in its world. For me, Double Helix was that drama.
What immediately stands out is the commitment of the cast. The two lead actors deliver performances that are emotionally rich, believable, and filled with nuance. Their chemistry isn’t something the script simply tells you to believe—it develops naturally through their expressions, dialogue, and the emotional weight they bring to every scene. Even moments of silence feel meaningful.
The story does an excellent job of allowing the relationship to evolve rather than rushing its emotional beats. It balances tenderness, conflict, longing, and intensity in a way that keeps you invested from beginning to end. Whether the characters are sharing quiet moments or confronting difficult emotions, the drama consistently makes you care about what happens next.
Visually, the production is polished, with thoughtful cinematography that enhances the mood instead of distracting from it. The direction allows emotional scenes to breathe, giving the actors space to fully inhabit their characters.
One of the drama’s greatest strengths is its willingness to present flawed, complex characters instead of idealized ones. The Eternal Fragrance (2026) Review
I’ve only watched 6 episodes, yet I’m already completely hooked. Two episodes a day doesn’t feel enough for me anymore. Anyway, Song Weilong was only 24 during filming, and the way he carried such a mature role at such a young age genuinely impressed me.I’ve always loved the enemy-to-lovers trope, but what makes this even more interesting for me is how their relationship is slowly shifting into friendship before becoming lovers. Watching their true personalities gradually unfold makes the drama even more engaging. I’m extremely curious about the upcoming episodes.
My rating is definitely 10/10.
I highly recommend this drama to everyone. The mix of magic, cultivation, enemy-to-friends, friends-to-lovers, and so many hilarious moments makes the drama feel incredibly lively and entertaining

Love story between The Master and The Servant and traditionalism.
It's so goodDefinitely worth watching.
I was totally excited after watching the official trailer and I was completely waiting for ittt .
Their chemistry is so amazing, I loved their acting and the script was written so welll.
The story till now is so great, I'm cheering for themm to overcome every difficulty they're going to face from next episode.
Cuz love between two guys is considered as a sin in that era, we can totally see from the way their parents reacted.
I'm definitely waiting for the upcoming episodes, I want to know what will the King doo?
Guys you have watch itttt . Or you're missing a masterpiece for sure.

Overhyped drama
This drama has beautiful cinematography, costumes, visuals and production design that make every scene look impressive. However the storytelling feels shallow, the main actor character is underdeveloped, lacks fighting scene as a General and and it seems to focus on the visuals than the plot making it disappointing compared to the expectationWas this review helpful to you?

Oh dear, what a mess
With too many characters, some of them annoying and poorly written (like Mueanphrae and Pawn/Paula), and far too many plot threads for 8 episodes, "Your Dear Daddy" does not deliver on most of what it promised or hinted at. The situation is not helped by questionable pacing and frequent tonal shifts. I started, continued and finished watching YDD for SaengNuea’s performance and his on-screen chemistry with Fluke, but there was not enough of that in the show to save it. Sidelining the main plot in favor of half a dozen side plots is rarely a good idea (remember "The Next Prince"?); it dooms a show when the main plot is the only good thing in it – which is what happened here.Somewhere around episode 3 or 4 I got convinced that YDD was initially written for at least 12 episodes and "adjusted" for its actual running time before production started. It is just a theory, but it does explain certain things about the show, like why the Gale-Mueanphrae storyline is so shallow or why the Mok-Saeng story goes nowhere. It also explains why the main story feels like there are several scenes (or even episodes) missing. What it does not explain are some of the choices what to include in the show – and here the list of things that should have been reduced or dropped entirely is long (starting with both aforementioned side plots).
What I liked:
- SaengNuea’s performance, which could not save the whole show, but did save Saitharn – a main character done dirty by poor writing,
- Sila’s and Saitharn’s relationship – even though it was underdeveloped and sidelined far too often (I did not mind the whole indentured servitude thing which got that relationship going – I assumed it was not to be treated seriously); one needs to appreciate that – unlike in most BLs – here both main characters are adults with a lot of backstory,
- Gap – he was doing his best and watching his performance became a guilty pleasure of mine; not a fan of his character though,
- setting almost the entire show in Chiang Rai, far from Bangkok, and filming a lot of it outdoors; that – as well as farming tea – brought back some fond ATOTS memories,
- fashion show in episode 8.
What I disliked:
- spending too much time on the mostly nonsensical business storyline and its numerous characters – Maenmueang would suffice as the show’s sole villain, Sila’s nemesis and (potentially) Saitharn’s hookup which got him to travel to Chiang Rai,
- how Saitharn’s traumatic past was handled and how it was introduced,
- leaving the Mok-Saeng storyline hanging – they should have either been developed into the secondary/supporting couple or their storyline should have been dropped and their parts reduced (maybe even letting go of one of them entirely – Saitharn did not need both Mok and Saeng to introduce him to farm work),
- Mueanphrae – an unlikeable, passive character we were meant to sympathize with (I did not and could not understand why Gale fell for her),
- show’s misleading title,
- more a nitpick than anything else, but the show’s main song included the line "my heart will always be yours forever", sung in English (the rest of the song is in Thai and seems okay) – and I found it awful.
I mentioned my theory of YDD getting less episodes than the script required to work. Once I got that theory, I remembered another Thai BL which was only 8 episodes long, had a relatively big cast and several side plots, but did not fall apart while I was watching it: "Moonlight Chicken". I guess that only shows that with smart, concise writing even 8 episodes can be enough to present a multi character story.

Best series
I can confidently say ThamePo is the best series I've ever watched ❤️From the very first episode it had me completely hooked The chemistry the emotions the acting the friendships and the music all felt so genuine and unforgettable Every character had depth every scene had meaning and every episode left me wanting more
It made me laugh cry smile and feel every emotion along the way It's one of those rare series that stays in your heart long after it ends

The Perfect last episode. No exaggeration.
I have a private list called "Rewatchable BLs", and the only other BL on that list is the actual Fake Fact Lips show.This last episode completed the entire series on an unbelievably satisfying level. It quite literally took my soul to a different dimension. Every time I finish a drama that I enjoyed and would probably revisit, the last episode rarely lands the way this one did.
But I need to mention that this feeling could only be fully expressed because I watched their dynamic unfold in the actual show; all their bickering, flirting, and misunderstandings.
Quick last note: If I were to ever lose my memory, this is one of my top TV shows I'll watch.

Jane X Jane: Dark Romance, Words of Affirmation, Mind Games
The first episode was indeed an enjoyable watch, but what will happen after?Something tells me this story is going to be far more than what the first episode delivered, and I’m eager to see what else it will bring.
It may seem like sweet romance on the surface but it’s nothing like that, I’m sure.
The plot is intriguing, mysterious too, it pulls viewers in. The acting is also great, chemistry is amazing, and the men are gorgeous.
But I’m curious to see how this “manipulative” ML who’s using the MC’s love language (words of affirmation) to draw him in, I’m curious to see how he would eventually fall head-over-heels in love.
You better join the watch train now, this is another promising Thai BL.

Love can't be hidden in the Eyes of Inlove
I long set aside this drama at first bc the vibes gives another drama I've watched before. And running out of dramas to watch I give it another try and it never disappoint. At first, to be honest i have my doubt and I even said to myself that if Fl and Ml chemistry aren't even that good I'll drop it.I expected a angst between them but they never did, but its vice versa of it. Even hiding their identity to one another, that switch soul made more sense and its not even draggy as i expected that it become a bridge between them.
I can say that Fl and Ml did so much better, I'm giggling with their yearning, even the 2nd Lead did not disappoint, as my rating of the supporting cast. The story is well stitch, I've seen the message the writer wanted to portrait it is a love story that doesn't have to be a full of misundertanding but it became a understanding and giving each other a safe space.
They become the better person, seeing and experience different life. Big thumbs up for this its one of the best drama I've watched.

What a bunch of nonsense
I watched Series 1 previously and were ready to drop that series by episode 9 due to the terrible acting of the FL (Zhao Zhao Yi). The storyline called for a very independent, savy, smart, kind and brave " heroine" type which the FL actress interpreted/ turned into a 5 years' old character with baby talk, whining, throwing tantrums, phony little girl laugh and puck faces that looked more like an angry blowfish than cute. Terrible, over the top , annoying acting. I really liked the rest of the crew, the ML and his subordinates and the other female actors. So I continued and after episode 10, the FL's acting finally got "reined in/toned down" and became somewhat tolerable, still not likeable.Sequel 2-- A little bit better and more quality production but the storyline is pretty much the same. The FL with the phony little girl laugh, attacking, constantly arguing with the ML, nagging, overall difficult. Her character is pretty hypocritical as she is supposed to be very independent, doesn't need anyone' help smart and brave...and yet...the actress is actually portraying a clingy. overly jealous, ALWAYS, saved by the ML character . How independent is that? Then the script "time travels" into the future by featuring a waterbed in Ancient China that wasn't actually invented until the 1960's in the West/USA. Or the guillotine scene, as this method of execution was never ever used in Ancient China. Furthermore, the script transferred today's /21st Century social issues of a large number of young women of today not wanting to get married and have kids as their careers are more important than anything else in life. Not to mention the emasculation of men in general, i.e. in the storyline, the ML is always wrong and always, always have to apologize to the FL. A brave, gorgeous, fantastic male character is reduced to a fearful puppy in front of the mediocre looking, not so talented FL. Seriously? These type of issues were most certainly NOT present in Ancient China's society and women like these would have had extremely short lifespans going against prevalent social customs of the era.
Good Stuff. Very talented and likeable characters ( except for the FL). Beautiful scenery. Beautiful customs, great fight scenes and music. Final few episodes have actually saved lots of the previous nonsense.
Many thanks for the hard work of the production team and maybe if there was a different FL (like Bai Lu) this production would have been a solid ten.
I will not be rewatching nor recommending this series.

I absolutely loved this show and how satisfying it was. It also didn't just focus on the students but teachers as well and parents. Everyone one of us needs help and also have lessons that need to be learned. This isn't your typical show because usually when it comes to politicians, they always showcase them as the "villains" of the show, however the father in law was a very important politician and went against usual protocol of society. Even though this is considered more of an action kdrama than a comedy the amount of times I've laughed in every episode should be concerning. The comedic relief on this show is actually insane and unexpected. I was in tears when she jumped out of that window and said she could fly (iykyk)
Side note: GEUN DAE AND IM HAN RIM ARE SOOO CUTEEE! >.<
They stole the show for me even though they weren't showcased that much but the way she got sober had me screaming
The only complaint I would have is the backstory of the fiancé. I understand that she was trying to be a good teacher and trying to give him many chances, but I just feel like she was overstepping her boundaries as a teacher. To me there were lines that she crossed. She was picking him up and touching his cheek like he was her own son. It could be cultural differences? But I just know that teachers from the US would NOT go that far for a student.
Other than that everything about this show was amazing and I'd 100% recommend it!! ^^

Well, that was truly a journey...
I see that for some people the story felt like going back and forth between present time and joseon era in maybe a tiring way; for me, it kept the storyline pretty interesting, and helped to understand some context and the connection of some things. Sacrifice, suffering, and love would be the three main things I saw throughout the serie, in a good way. Also, loved the lesson of not letting "fate" define your whole life when you are the main responsible for how you conduct your life.I actually enjoyed "My Royal Nemesis", and would say it's worth it to give it a try.
