Friendship and sacrifice

It was a very good series. I watched it with love, curiosity and excitement. I laughed at some parts. I felt sad in some parts. I got emotional. Especially in the last chapters and the deaths of the heroes. Of course, there were places where I got angry. Places I don't like. There were also places where I thought it wouldn't happen. By the way, let me say; Especially Yuan Lu, who has a heart disease, fights and swings his sword in a very healthy way. On top of that, he traveled 480 kilometers on horseback and on foot, trying to report news. It wasn't believable at all. If a person with heart disease had waved a sword, held a shield, shot an arrow, fought, or killed a man for 5-10 minutes, let alone the hour, he too would have to die in that hour. I'm not a doctor, but he can't do this level of action. He cannot travel for hours on horseback. He cannot run the remaining 80 kilometers. Such a thing is not possible. I've surpassed reality, you can't even do it in your dreams. To that degree. I find the scriptwriter very wrong here. I still gave it a very good grade. I gave it to the whole series. Elements such as friendship, patriotism and self-sacrifice are emphasized, and it is underlined that those who wrote heroic epics should not be forgotten. It was explained that commanders and rulers should strive to keep those under their command alive instead of killing them, and that therefore even wars should be aimed at peace. I get it in that way. I understood from the descriptions of people feeling sorry for those who died and angry at those who caused them to be killed. Of course, in addition to their sacrifices, warriors and fighters, their private lives, loves, sorrows, joys and jokes are also reflected. I found it good. Especially the actors were very good. Direction and visuals were great. The activation scenes were near perfect. It was worked very meticulously. Attentive. Congratulations. One mistake was that all the heroes died. There was no happy ending. It ended sadly.
Our leads were very good. Liu Shi Shi is an actor who is especially suitable for roles such as assassin and undercover officer, this role suits him very well. I like. Likewise, Liu Yu Ning filled the role with her tall physique. I tell him to be careful, he is very overweight despite his paint pulp. If he gets more, he will be in fat roles. Alen Fang also got used to these humorous boy roles well. It made us smile. It was great. In He Lan Dou, he turned out to be an actor with the ability to add a role to his role. I liked this girl very much. I've watched a few more TV series. A different understanding of roles in each series. Mastering the role and doing what is required. He has made great progress. Chen You Wei was also humorous and lively. He fit the role very well. He was a hero with heart disease. He did his role very well. He added value to his role. Congratulations. I also liked Chang Hua Sen. I'm watching it for the first time. It will be better. I liked the actor who played the King of Moment with his different playing style. He added value to his role. I like this type of players more. I recommend it to those who haven't watched it. Watch. You will be satisfied.

DOTS- an evergreen show

if you know anything about the kdrama world you know that 2016 is known as the year to produce the biggest hits in kdrama history. DOTS is just one of the many beloved shows released in 2016. I for one have watched over hundreds of kdramas in the past 7 years and still this is my favorite show of all time.
I won't say it has a very unique or special story but it's one of those shows that you'll keep close to your heart. It's a rom-com packed with lots of action and amazing soundtrack. Even now when i listen to 'Everytime' i get flashbacks of the show. You will be rooting for both the main couple and the second couple. The side characters are not just their for support but have their own storyline going on.
The show doesn't get repetitive or draggy, each episode is engaging. The romance will also have you hooked.
all in all, i would suggest giving it a shot.

He wanted a clean death and now he is going to die 12 more times.

What can I say? ?
This is so intense guys!!!
I felt like I died in every episode and the waiting time for the part 2 literally kills me!

I am amazed, it is an incredible drama with so many deep meanings that you can actually take so many things for your own life!
The acting was incredible, all the actors were so damm good and of course Seo Inguk never ceases to amaze me.

Choi Yi Jae is desparate , sad and broken. His suffering will slowly hit you and although he seems very unlikable at first you will see his desparation and raw emotions.
He isnt a typical hero or a villan, he is just human and that makes you empathise with him so much. Because it good be you is his place.

This is intense, devastating, desparate, sad and so gripping that I finished it in half a day and then cried for the rest of the day because the part 2 isnt available yet.

Cant wait! Watch it because you are missing out in life or could I say death? ?

Night Has Come: a thrilling mystery

Night Has Come has a brilliant cast and unique storyline. The beginning was off to a great start and sets up the entire story to a high standard. The first half of the show was intense and enticing, it pulls you in, and leaves you in suspense, wanting to watch more. The second half of the show is equally disappointing. The story was eccentric but the execution was subpar. There were a lot of plot holes and storylines that led no where.
To start off, I really liked the location chosen and how they set up the surroundings. the initial building was thrilling, even scary to a point. The lighting , alarm and music really set the tone, I especially loved the music they used for midnight when the citizens slept. Yet, with each episode the story starts going downhill. The behavior of the characters weren't consistent either. I also don't like how they gave both Jun Hee and Yoon Seo holier-than-thou personalities. It basically chipped away at their personality. The ratio between citizens and mafia was quite high, yet the mafia team played them like a fiddle.
At one point, I was hoping for the mafia to win, because it seemed like they were the only ones using their brains in the game.
I also didn't like how the citizens were portrayed as innocent and the mafia as the criminals when both parties were choosing to kill someone, both of them didn't have a choice, it was either kill or be killed.
I also wondered about the whole supernatural sub plot going on, even though it led to nowhere.
The ending was the biggest let down, with it being left open ended and with a lot of questions being left unanswered.
• How did they kidnap all the students? where did all this high tech equipment come from? If her parents were so good at tech why didn't they delete Se Eun's video or tracked it down to who recorded it and report it to the police? Why torture all the innocent students?
• If Jung Won is just a code, how did she gain her own consciousness? why did she only help Jun Hee and Yoon Seo and not the others?
• What was the point of leading the boundary up to the hill? just to set the tone? but there was no significant or logical reason to do so.
• why introduce the storyline of the ghost and then drop it mid way?
• Who took Yoon Seo to the parallel world when she fell through the floor? if it was Jung Won, how did she do it and why? If it was the parents, why would they do that?
• Who were the other students from different schools they showed in the journal Yoon Seo found? was it just for show?
• How long will this thing actually last? At one point the parents will start looking for their kids and get the police involved, won't they get caught eventually?
• is it even revenge if the students memory just get wiped out and they restart again and again?
I was so interested in why Se Eun was dead and whether it was actually some murder behind the scenes but the story revealed was also mediocre at best. The video looked so obviously photoshopped, who in this day and age in high school can't tell fake videos apart.
The saving grace of the show was the acting of the cast, special mention to the actors of Jin Da Beom and Go Kyung Jun.

Good story but the ending disappoints.

The plot was great, each episode keeps you wanting to keep watching episode after episode. The deaths were great, it is a drama that provokes all kinds of emotions in you, you manage to hate some characters, and have empathy for others. using such a cool game like mafia and making it real was wonderful. but the ending was bad, I hope there can be a second season and they manage to escape the game.
Please make a second season and improve the ending you made.
On the other hand, great work by the actors, I loved their performance.

The story did start out confusing, but the episodes got better

But i am sad over it was a short drama. I liked the main couple/ Ex lovers and how they reconciled again, seeing they have still feelings for eachother. The girl was still confused with her feelings for the man, even though she could give the Artist K a chance. He really liked her, but she was too confused.

The main story of the drama was really relatable, for the society we live in. The story showed real feelings and made me emotional, even though the story was a little confused.

The music collaboration was on point, I really hope the songs get released.

But if I had a choice of watching it again. I rather choose Soundtrack #1. The story and the character development and how they avoid their feelings for each other .

It makes sense in the end!

I left a review on this show 9 episodes in and it was basically about how I loved the feel of the show, especially when in the 90s but I was just so confused and felt like the timeline was hard to keep up with. Now that I have finished the show, there are still some things I don't understand but the main storyline I get now.

Like I said I really enjoyed the 90s vibes, the cinematography, and the sweet relationships between the main characters. It made me happy that in-gyu had a chance in the end with min-ju and that even though they can't remember the time travelling, her getting in the accident benefited her in that she felt more at peace and almost had a new beginning at life. Also how Si-heon and Jun-hee did meet eventually in 2011, and how it ends openly and optimistically. Every episode I watched ended with so many twists and turns that it really makes you want to continue watching to know what it means and how it changes the future. Although it did make me sad and happy at the same time in the end lol.

Sure the twists and turns in the show were good and really captivating, but it also left me confused often and still now I don't get certain things. Because of this, I was tempted to drop the show but stuck it out and I'm glad that I did. It's crazy to comprehend most of the things that we saw over the course of the years in the show ended up never happening, specifically with si-heon and jun-hee.

I think the cast was great too, with Vincenzo being one of my favourite dramas, I'm super fond of Yeo-been and seeing this new side of her in this show was really cool to see.

Good vibes, bad pacing of character development

I think this drama had a very good start and I didn't mind that there would be another guy to pressure our leads, even though we all knew he had no chance. Just overall, I really loved the vibe of the show as well; the music and soft cinematography were really comforting, not to mention how the chemistry between our leads was off the charts.

The ending felt a little rushed, however. I'd say that the show was decently paced until the last episode, where the main leads went through getting back together, breaking up, some individual character development, and then getting back together again.

I feel like the contents of the entire last episode should've been distributed more evenly throughout all the previous episodes and the amount of love-triangle scenes could've been lessened (and I'm saying that as a love triangle enjoyer).

Hyunseo's insecurity problem should've prevented them from getting back together in the first place, and the ensuing episodes could have been spent on communication and her trying to work on that, rather than having them get back together first and THEN bringing back the insecurity issue to break them up again. With so much being stuffed in the last episode, there also just wasn't enough time to have the leads communicate more, and it made their final reunion feel abrupt and unearned. If we'd seen more character development outside of the romance it would've helped as well — like seeing Hyunseo's journey with the piano and Suho's journey with trying to find happiness in the little things again after working so hard the past few years.

Overall, I still think this was a light watch; Steve Noh is fantastic and I would love to see him in more melodrama/romcoms because he was great at both emotional and comedic scenes. I've loved the softness of both this series and the prequel Soundtrack #1, and I hope they follow this up with another miniseries.

VERY GOOD DRAMA

This drama had me in a shockhold sooo many times. From the beging where they left to go there and the little small details just like the other buss. When they all got he game on their phone and thought it was a stupid game but it was survive or dead. The acting was incredible for every actor. I have seen dramas like this before, going to be honest ofcourse they were also good but this was was just a very good one. And also I didn't think that I was going to be that into it like I was. EVERY episode 1-12 was intresting, and the twists were just jaw dropping EVERY TIME. Was hooked just by the very first episode.

Opinion on the story and genres:
For the little romance this drama had I did love it because it had a little romance. Going to be honets im not a huge romance person but it was like the little romance between some character, most specific for Yoon-seo and Jun hee was just chef kiss. I SUFFERD when he was voted out and she for real dragged him out of the swimming pool to hold him... I loved it it was everything and I CRIED. They cared so much about each other it was just everything.
For the story more inporticular I liked it. Thriller is just top in kdramas for me and this had everything I could ask for, in a highschool thriller. Also what is a kdrama thriller without people you just hate? Kim so mi was just not it, lived for her visuals for real but her character I did that much but a kdrama has to have that person.
People may think that the story line with mafias and a game is like out dated or like "we have too many of them already" like no the story is just everything. And a story I myself never can get tired from watching if it's a good drama. But not my favorite.
And spoiler alert the ending has me jaw dropping omg I can't belive it ended just like that. That Jung won was just there and Se euns parents were like the creator of all his. That was a big plot twist it was amazing and I did not excpect that. All the plot twists in this series was just amazing. When you least excpect something to happend it just happend and it was just like omg what happend just now. And all the other plot twists was just the same. Having to wait a week from one epiosde to another was a big crime. But the ending fellt so rushed. When her parents showed up I was so confused because Se eun weren't talked about that much before. It was confusing with that end also very confusing if they played it times before like I did not understand anything of that. So that was a little bit dispointing from what the overall drama looked like I think it was a kinda bad ending. Also it made NO SENSE how two people can kidnap all of them and put them in a kinda lab? Like what? How the hell did that work? Just everything with them going on a bus in the beging like was that even real? What was even real? The ending were Jung won was were that real? Like no what? And is Jung won a real person? I really don't get that part at all actully. There are so many questions that I would like to be answered right now.

Actors/cast and visual:
LIke I mentioned I loved the actors. I think I have just seen one of them before, which is Cha Woo min, an amazing actor. Both from "the tasty Florida" and for his geuts character in "Weak hero class 1". His acting did deliver all times. For the other actors I have founded new favorites. I have to mention Lee Jae min, WOW. I haven't seen her before but omg she fucking killed that character she was amazing with all the emontions and played a perfect main role. In the series as Yoon-seo she was my favorite charcter I LOVED her. She played sooo well and her visual is not a joke. Also Kim Woo seok played soooo well. This last episode just when he had Yoon-seo in his arms OMG it all fellt tooooo real, loved his cating and when he said he was the mafia and everyone voted him out it was just so yes. Overall the cast was such a nice choice and it was the best for this drama.

Production:
On production this series was so good. When someone got voted out for the first time it was just so real. And it was just all so perfect in the production way. When they were smashing their head towards each other my only thought was just like "don't show too much now" it was perfect for the horror feeling. It's a drama with very good production and a drama that seemed so real at some parts. It's not the best production but it it I didn't really feel like anything for the production side were missing.

For any misses for this series it's the end. It was a miss and a very rushed ending. Kinda felt dispointing with that ending were the rest of the series was just that good. I did not like think that the ending was going to be a happy ending but I thought better then that.

6/10 for rewatch value it's because I think I wouln't really watch rewatch it in a week or two, because I feel like it's not that kinda drama that I would enjoy rewatching agian and agian. Feel like it's not going to get a seon 2 but I feel like a season 2 wouldn't change the story to what it ended like here cause it was just confusing. But I also feel like it's a need to know how the ending happend cause wtf?

OVERALL a very good horror/thriller series. So I would recommend it. Just an easy 9/10 kdrama. -1 just for the ending if it didn't end like that I would deff give it a 10/10.

Captivating...but too much girl-on-girl hate

So I didn't realize, before going into this, that there was a supernatural element to it. It definitely added a lot to the show's intrigue and made Nanno a very (satisfyingly) overpowered character, though I found I had to suspend disbelief several times. The anthology aspect of the drama also added a lot to that, knowing that she would win and everything would start over in the next episode.

The downside of an anthology, however, is that there are always stronger and weaker episodes — and in this case I think the show front-loaded its stronger ones. My favorites were The Ugly Truth, and Social Love, with maybe Lost & Found as an honorable mention. The weaker ones were the three at the end before the finale: Trap, Thank You Teacher, and Rank.

I'm also a little mixed on the themes. While I enjoyed the variety in the stories and they do cover several different topics, from class/wealth disparities, to social media, to beauty standards, there's one running theme that's very frustrating to see, and that's girl-on-girl hate. 90% of the episodes have girls attempt murder to set up SA situations with either Nanno or other girls over a boy's affections, and it's a little frustrating that so many plots resorted to this instead of finding new character motivations and exploring other aspects of dark human nature — of which there is much to explore.

Dong Lan Xue (found on YouTube as “East Column Snow”) is a great revenge miniseries with the right amount of romance. Even if it is a miniseries, the plot and the leading couple did a fantastic job bringing their characters to life. The tale of revenge is well thought out on this drama and the leading couple has a slow developing mesmerizing chemistry that is sensual and beautiful to watch. There is a good amount of decently done action and bloody killings as they exact revenge and protect themselves or others in their quest to bring light to the injustice suffered by both leads and impose punishment on the vicious powerful antagonists. This is a well done miniseries and is very entertaining. Enjoy it!

The Potential of this Show was astronomical but failed

First of all Luke and Dew acted so well off of one another. I know Luke was a replacement in this series and thank God. This man can act and is not hard to look at. Loved seeing Dew in a lead role. He is the only reason I tolerated the worse version of F4 (just my opinion)

The villains were so cookie cutter in Sroy and Tanya with no repercussions for any of them. They were allowed to to destroy lives with no repercussions at all. The way Sroy treated Vee's mother and not only allowed to take the company over but was forgiven by Vee and his mother with a mere apology.

Same with child like Chanon feeling jealous and acting like his bitchy mother. All Sroy got was falling with some water only to have the mistreated sister in law racing to her aid.

Yes, it was a good series technically but it was tied up too neatly. Better in my opinion to make bad people get their punishment instead of cross the board forgiveness for the wronged party.

We can't always get what we want but Sroy did. All her bad behavior and her sons were dismissed with a apologies. In a time of massive data breaches across the world this series shows one engineered with no punishment what so ever. While I enjoyed the acting and moat of the story in the end a 10 series became less than an 8. And that's generous.
But Dew and Luke made it a pretty series no...GORGEOUS. Have Mercy.

This could have been great

Let me just start of by saying that I absolutely love dramas about self-healing and growth but this one seemed to just miss the mark a bit. The acting was amazing and the premise had so much potential but it lacked that punch to the gut.

I feel like the ML's character was a bit contradicting. He shows up looking like a thug and he supposedly stole a bunch of money from his gang but then as the show progresses, you don't really get to know how he stole the money or what kind of work he did. All of the flashbacks just focus on him trying to avoid a life of crime. They dressed him in those ugly patterned shirts for the first few episodes and gave him a standoffish personality but it doesn't match what the writers are trying to show us later. Redemption arcs are supposed to start from a bad person learning to be good but in this story, they try and sell us a good person with bad luck finding happiness. This is not a bad thing but it wasn't consistent with how they began the drama.

The FL also has some plot holes. We meet her brother once and then never again. The other characters talk about how FL lead had a rough life but then they don't elaborate on it....

All in all - it was an enjoyable drama but if anyone asked for a recommendation for a redemption drama, this would probably not be my first, second, or third rec. I'm the type of person who can take note of a show's flaws and still enjoy it but if you struggle to look past these things, this one might not be for you.

Strong start, but...

I think this drama started out super strong — the show wasn't afraid to be violent and gory, you could clearly differentiate between the classmates and what archetypes they represented, and there was so much intrigue around both who the mafias were and why the gamemaker decided to choose them.

As the drama went on I definitely think it lost a bit of steam — Mafia reveals were interesting but you can only do that a few times before the audience wants to dig deeper and actually find out how and why the game started. Instead, the disorganization of the students lasts for a little too long.

So I think the backstory reveal started a little too late, and it introduced a new character that I couldn't really bring myself to care about so late in the story. The backstory itself wasn't fleshed out very well, never going in depth with some of the things they had hinted earlier about how each student was involved. I still don't understand why students were chosen to be Mafias, Citizens, the Doctor, or the Police, and if it was random it really lessens the importance of every one of them.

Without these specifics, the gamemakers didn't feel much like "masterminds" with a thought out plan, but just some people with a thirst for revenge and instilling suffering in whatever form. I would've much preferred it if the game had been a more direct reflection of what happened in the past, and if it was repeated until each student learned a specific lesson (with Yoonseo being the first to learn that she should've been there for her friend), as opposed to the ultimate purpose simply being "I want them all to suffer as much as possible."

I'm also part of the camp that feels mixed about the ending. While I've seen open endings that are done well, the one here feels too "unsustainable," meaning that I know it definitely can't last forever — there has to be more than the story and whatever it is should have been shown.

Overall, I still had a lot of fun with this. I don't know if there will be another season but I hope there is — there's a perfect set up for one and it would give the show a chance to delve deeper into its backstory and each kid.
