I have some thoughts....

Ok... I loved Gen Y season 1 but I can't watch anymore of S2, its not that it was...bad, I just okay ....

I didn't like that they brought back Pha, if they wanted to do the storyline that he was sick, they should've done it in S1 -

Basically start out with Pha and Yu being together then Pha breaks up with him out of the blue, that could be the diagnosis and it was to much for him to hand at the time and then he breaks up with Yo and then the whole S1 could've been like then dealing with Pha's illness and him passing away.

THEN S2 could've introduced the new guy many set " a year later" who basically takes care of Yo due to Pha's dying wish.

like season 2 definitely didn't need Pha brought back honestly. The whole sick storyline In this show was just not for me because I was already fine with Pha not being here for season 1

Not Impressed

When Moon in the Day started, it had potential to be really interesting. The whole past life connected to the present life could have been done well but the let down was the story itself.

The major problems I had with the plot was that they really kept dragging what actually happened in the past. Everything was mysterious but not in a good way. Rather in a very slow and boring way. The reveal will only come in the last 3 episodes and you feel like, "is that it?". Also one thing I noticed is the FL in the past had struck the ML on the neck. But in the present, his scar is on his upper chest/shoulder. A very bizarre mistake when you keep repeating that scene and highlighting where the sword struck him. It simply does not match. They just wanted to be able to hide the scar without making the actor wear a turtle neck.

Another thing I disliked is the FL was a strong character. Both physically and mentally. She was capable of taking care of herself but shortly afterwards, she ends up being made to portray a helpless character. I wish they would have kept her character as a firefighter. She shouldn't have had to give up her job. Rather if the writers allowed us opportunity to see how much the ML actually cares for her even when he thinks he doesn't when he sees her endangering her life to save others. For the first half of the show, ML was trying to kill her and that suddenly changes without explaining how or why his anger subsided or why he thought he could move on if he was the one to kill her to begin with when he didn't do that in any of the previous lives. It also begs the question that if he was with her for 1500 years, how was he unable to protect her other times she dies but this time/life it was possible like saving her from drowning to the point that she believed she had a guardian angel.

There really isn't much happening in the first half. The historical scenes were good. They should have shown more moments in the present. This also needed more romance. The ML and FL were serious for the most part. Wish we could have seen their chemistry throughout even if was funny moments.

The brother's character was decent. The bad guy was okay. The other characters were mostly just there without much effect. The monk also spoke in unnecessary riddles so it was mostly a waste.

The ending is okay but I didn't really feel super delighted. Wish they had shown more. I guess you can call it a realistic ending. It's not a terrible show but nothing fantastic.

I thought the theme song and the design of it was beautiful. One of the few things that really stood out.

A K-drama that compelled me to write a comment, review after a long time!

In a series where a group of students find themselves forced to play games for survival, maintaining mystery and tension is crucial and I believe "Night Has Come" accomplishes this very well!

While understanding the characters in the series can be challenging at times, I think the show has a great flow. The excitement continues in every episode, successfully keeping viewers hooked.

The cast, especially Kim Wooseok, does a commendable job, and even the performances of rookie actors don't disappoint.

My favorite aspect of the series is its ability to maintain suspense and mystery in each episode. You suspect someone, and in the next episode, it turns out they are innocent, It keeps your curiosity alive.

If you enjoy mystery, tension, and horror, I think you might want to give this series a chance.

And if you would like to read more detailed review, I would be so happy to have you in my website!

a well written male centered drama

I was surprised knowing that the original source was never a gay romance. The drama sure know how to up their bromance lol.

Personally I am not a fan of any type of romance in a drama that is heavy in friendship and brotherhood/sisterhood. But I like the bromance in this. If you see it from different perspectives, it actually fits in every one of them. Truly up to viewers' interpretation. You may see romance, or just friendship, or brotherhood, or even father-son bond between LLH-FXB (not entirely but it's there, you just have to see it from that angle).

I think even if people dislike the ending, I quite like it. I don't think Li Lianhua is still alive. He most probably have long been dead when DFS and FDB went to the beach. LLH has been lying to people thag Li Xiangyi is dead, and he lied that LXY was found dead on the beach and the body swept away by the ocean. Personally I think it foreshadowed the way he actually died. LLH chose to die that way because he wanted it.

Saving him is a bit unrealistic. He has said so many times that someone needs the cure more than him. While he was the best during his prime, his time has long passed and it's time for the new generation to surpass him. For him 30% chance is a 0 chance. If someone has 100% survival rate with the antidote, why waste it on him? He's both selfish and selfless in a sense, again depends on what way you see his action.

I personally think people forcing him to stay alive is also quite selfish of them. If LLH chose to die peacefully with his illness, why are you so adamant to make him alive? DFS did it for his long obsession of defeating him. While I get FDB just wanted him to just live and be the LLH and enjoy adventure with him, I think FDB never understood LLH in this case. He's supposed to understand LLH and all his reasoning, but he just refused to accept this one.

Overall this drama is truly one of the best Chinese drama in 2023 aside from The Blood of Youth. Do I want a season 2? Perhaps, with FDB and DFS looking for LLH, dead or alive. And them forming a bond that they didn't know they could build. It would be lovely to have it.

Sad Time Travel mystery

I watched all the episodes stuck in an endless, sometimes long, repetitive state of dread. Asking the basic question, why are these two together? The script based on a book develops characters that are in love but have really bad communication skills, chemistry, or have any attraction beyond crying together.

Without any spoilers, WHAT's MISSING:

the moments that show the happiness of a relationship,
navigating a first romance,
or becoming a couple and showing the good and bad of a couple that likes each other enough to have intimacy.

Instead, we get a lot of unnecessary drama but never fully see a main couple with chemistry or

why they belong together is absent and the gloom and doom tone we get is the opposite of a butterfly stomach of first love.

The logic of some of the character's actions, or the mystery isn't enough to garner any re-watch value. But, if you get past the first episode you almost have NO choice but to suffer in silence until the end.

Well, that happened.

I'm not sure I've watched as series that's had such a reversal in my opinion of it. I was excited after the first episode - I like Meen & Ping, and I had hoped for a better vehicle for them than Ai Long Nhai, and here it was! But it was just a trick.

The first couple of episodes were good and engaging, with an odd and silly intersection of gaming and gangsters - I thought it would be campy fun, but instead, we got an endless stream of people making inexplicably bad decisions - solely to get the plot to progress from step to step. In order for there to be final drama, Tew has to spare the life of someone totally psychotic and evil when doing so put himself, Guy, the Boss, and everyone else associated with them in mortal danger - in fact it was double suicide, because he disobeyed the Boss to do this. It was so completely stupid and out of character that it pulled me completely out of the story. Maybe if the villain had been compelling instead of the offspring of a non-binary clown and John Lennon it could have worked, but Kenji is such an awful actor that his scenes gave me secondhand embarassment. (Tommy has a day job as a model, so he'll be fine - and he is fine, underneath the clown suit they make him wear.)

The rest of the series is a meandering mess, with an intriguing secondary couple that doesn't go anywhere, and a ton of side characters that could have been integrated into the story - like what if instead of being a sneering Beetle the villain had been sophisticated and smart, and it took the whole crew to take him down using their individual skills? But nope, all we got was Elton John on a bad hair day chewing up the scenery and also making insanely stupid decisions.

In the final episode there were lots of time jumps, over the types of things that it would have been interesting to watch, like the secondary couple getting together, but it was apparently necessary to cut all that out to include lots of scenes of Tew cooking boring dishes and having the same conversation with Ping on an endless loop.

OK, the positives - Meen is hot. I'm not even sure that's subjective. In fact the whole cast is attractive to the point that it made me watch the whole series (with judicious fast-fowarding).

Winner Tanatat is wasted on a side role, but he absolutely nails it and makes Wal a fully-realized character rather than just a villain-esque dick. He managed to play Wal as a loyal and loving friend while still giving him an unpleasantly domineering edge, but never so much as to send him over the line into villainy.

The fight scenes were not exactly cinematic in quality, but there were impressive for a small production like this.

I can't recommend this. Meen takes off his shirt a couple of times, which is worth seeing, but he probably does that on social media somewhere and you can stare at the glory that is his body all you want.

some of y’all are harsh

this drama doesn’t deserve nearly the amount of hate it gets. is it the best thing ever? no, not by any stretch. however when there are dramas that excuse literal sexual assault, calling this the worst bl ever isn’t fair in my opinion.

if you’re not into slow burn this one isn’t going to be for you. but honestly i think that was evident in the title: step by step.

let’s start with what i didn’t like to get it out of the way. the pacing and time given to certain storyline’s wasn’t the best. spending that much time on jaab and jen only to give no resolute ending to them was in fact a choice. it’s clear the writers tried to pack in too much. in that regard i understand the frustration.

the production at times was admittedly messy. two characters in the same room with completely disparate audio quality. it often sounded like they recorded at different times. shaky camera work here and there. music cutting off abruptly to an almost jarringly silent background.

the other common critiques i can’t get as far behind however. i liked that our mains were realistically flawed. i don’t think what we ended up seeing was no character growth. growing as a person isn’t about never making mistakes or even never repeating those mistakes, it’s about acknowledging when you do. which was one of the biggest take aways of step by step - and i think they did that well. i personally don’t want characters who never do or say stupid things. especially when they’re young or come from extremely sheltered backgrounds. i want them to talk about it and find a common ground which pretty much all our characters succeeded at in the end.

i also greatly appreciated their critiques of the bl industry and the shippers. it was good to see an acknowledgement that whilst they use bl couples to sell products the company heads are often very homophobic and that the general public doesn’t like any gay couple if it conflicts with the marketed ship. a nice follow on from lovely writers’ criticisms imo.

again i understand that the agonisingly slow push and pull of it isn’t for everyone, but there are plenty of snappy bls where the mains get together by episode 5. i liked being dragged along by my back hairs personally. the one thing i will say is the breakup in episode eleven felt unnecessary. the conversation about them not always communicating in the most conducive way could have happened without them spending two years apart, but i digress.

all that paired with a cast of really likeable side characters i would absolutely rewatch this

It's only about romance. The story is about the first love process between a famous voice actor (who keeps his face secret) and a musician/composer ( female college student). Very cute. It gave me heart flutters several times. You won't regret watching if you love romance dramas.

Male lead Tan Jianci was swoon worthy. He can act very well, as seen in his other dramas. This laid back drama was almost a waste of his talents because there was no scandoulous heart wrenching misunderstandings. Just pure wholesome goodness here.

If you're interested, I suggest reading the novel as well. I love the drama folled the novel closely in the beginning, but then elaborated more towards the end were the novel seemed leave to the imagination. This is one of the few dramas that I would say I like better than the actual novel.

potencial desperdiçado

Nota: 4/10

if this ended at just 3 episodes

I like the end of episode 3 where she release that how long he been liking her she has been blind to all that
her regret for not noticing are well express just by the eyes of Han So Hee and her expression in ep 3
10/10 for there acting both o them work real good on expression and how they express all those feelings without words
her own realization , her regret for being oblivious to his feeling, he sadness about find it 8 year late...

10/10 for First 3 episodes and -1.5 for last fourth episodes
-1.5 for ending flat like that. he just accepted her and it ended. it just give unsatisfied vibe
he should have moved on from her in ep 4 and founded a real Jennifer......

(( it was about one sided love but Jennifer was Park bo Young
ML was even crying seeing park bo young on tv ))

Ep 4, she date fair share of men before even realizing his feeling
how much he resist seeing her dating other man front of him but she can't be even let him date a single girl before her ?
i find this unfair
she said there friendship is more important until she fall in love with him and now she doesn't care if they ever break up and can never go back to be Friends again.
its not love from her side its her selfish desire while he resist 8 years because he truly valued there friendship
In end i found her HYPOCRATIC, he confession without any thought was selfish and his accepting her was also. like what is point of all 3 last episodes about Friendship now they don't value that friendship at all ?

Waste of talent and money gmmtv needs to up their game now it's not like what it used to be it's charm is gone even tho i just started watching bls this was one of the worst one i have watched so far feels like gmmtv is in too much pressure to make a better series ? and ended up making a flop

Maybe it's not for everyone

I am crying rn like what was the point of it if he died? Episodes where pulled out in the first 7 episodes and then the story had become super plain and boring and then things where rushed up in the last 2-3 episodes and the story felt camed up so it wasn't exactly slow burn or fast paced drama . Maybe it's just not my style ? watch it at your own risk you may love it or hate it there is no in between ?? I can understand as bl is kinda banned in china maybe that's the reason it turned out to be like this ......

Sorry I tried....

This drama just not for me....

Story found boring.... Not original.... Not a fantastic storyline....

Zhao Lusi, look she has been in better dramas with much stronger presence.... This for me personally not one of her best roles.... Acting is okay but just a step down....

Wang Anyu really bad.... Childish role.... So much better with Gina Jin in 'Falling Into You'.... That drama felt very good performance by him....

I seen many people are enjoying the drama so if you are one who is enjoying please continue to watch and enjoy.... Just wasn't for me. Still fan of both Zhao Lusi and Wang Anyu as I have seen them before in many great dramas, I tried however can't force myself with this drama anymore....

Completely packed, engaging , and sinks down right into your bones

Guys , this one did have great achievement CAUSE IT GOT MY FIRST REVIEW. Eventhough i havent completed it yet anyone can say it gonna slay even more in the second half. I loved it everything , everyone the only thing i hate is it should have release all 8 episodes, i am gonna enter this new year with anxiety disorder. And just neglect these down voters the rating will surely go up.

Now, onto the story Mannn...the concept is already a banger and the best thing is keeping some of those 12 lives connected. if all those lives are independent it wouldn't be as interesting as this. Now due to this remaining dramas will never be the same again. I want more of these.

and its good that this is taken as a mini series, cause its completely packed without any drag and keeping us hooked.will update it on Jan 5th night but sure the rating will be same just will add some more praises.

what a ride
