Honestly a pretty solid show.

This show is not bad at all and actually very watchable and fun as a general show. The couple never had any huge issues and they were pretty cute overall. The story was not bad, the only critique I would give is that I don’t understand why they forgave the “evil” characters so easily. I totally understand that in the real world it sometimes is better to forgive and forget but I wish there was more character development in that area where they showed how they forgave the “evil” characters. The fact that they just gave the grandpa amnesia and never really talked about him again is like letting it go and I didn’t really like that part. I wish the show could be longer but I really liked the watch overall and would rewatch as a fun side show or if I’m multitasking. Definitely not as bad as how others may say it is because to me it only got better as the show progressed!

Yanno when the Bonus stage was first released, I never expected even that SP ended up being 'canon' towards the main lore. But the aftermath of that end up leading up to this SP, and while this SP was fun... it does make me wonder what kind of SP we could've gotten if Ace, Keiwa or Tsumuri had won the Bonus stage.

"Anything goes" was basically the gist of what Miichi wrote his wish when the Quiz game had started. Who could've expected that Miichi would now get to become a boss of a Yorozuya shop with Tan, a girl who resembled Beroba as they go around taking random jobs as a living? Not Miichi, of course.

After being informed of the wish by GM Sarami, Michinaga ended up going around taking clients which mostly consisted of his rivals in the DGP! While at first he started begrudgingly doing the job because he had no other choice, near the end of the day he realised that it might not be such a bad thing for him to be a Yorozuya. Pity that it's only for a day only tho. I'd have liked to see more of his shenanigans as a Yorozuya XD

But the most important question that remained unanswered though... IS WHOSE CHILD WAS KEIWA WAS HOLDING? IS IT HIS? Hahahaha

A decent rom-com of unrequited love and second-chance romance. Miles Wei does what he does best.

Subjective Gut Rating: 7.75

I am a fan of unrequited-love-turned-romance and also second-chance romance. So, “I May Love You” is the perfect drama for me at the moment. It’s an easy-to-watch rom-com to kill time.

I have conflicting feelings about the female lead, Tang Xin. Her first introduction to us viewers isn’t quite what I was hoping for and I was a little worried. She appeared to be obsessed with ML, Tang Yu, a little stalkerish with her wall of photos, and seemed to be a little clingy. I understand she’s been in love with Tang Yu for 4 years, but still, those pictures creeped me out. But on the other hand, I liked her assertiveness and her straightforwardness when confessing her love. I might not agree with her dishonesty in a way, but also understand where she’s coming from. Luckily, I like her more when stood her ground and focuses on her career. She let Tang Yu grovel and try to win her love without giving in too easily.

I love seeing a male lead miss his chance of love and have to grovel and win the affection of the female lead. However, that push-and-pull and Tan Xin’s stubbornness lasted too long. It was fun at first, but then towards the middle of the drama, it became very repetitive and I slowly lost interest in the main romance. I eventually just look forward to the secondary romance, which is cute and sweet. I adore that couple and wanted more screen time for them.

Miles Wei is the usual Miles Wei. He has played similar roles many times, but you can’t deny he looks quite handsome. At least he is not a total cold CEO and does show his lovable side once he’s in love. I know this is not a big budget production, but they have got to give Miles Wei and Huo Chen Dong better suits to wear. Their suits look like UNFINISHED products from fashion design students, or unfinished products from Project Runway contestants when they ran out of time after Tim Gunn told them to stop. They are ridiculous! Miles can use a few more suits and not repeatedly wear the same ones. He’s the CEO of a film production company afterall. The makeup of the female lead isn't that great either. Her foundation is too white but her lips are too bright. On the other hand, 2FL looks really pretty.

On a positive note, there are many lovable characters in this drama and no annoying ones. I adored ML’s mother and his sister. They are so cute and are the best wingwoman for ML. I was worried the sister would be another annoying spoiled princess, but she’s so lovely. We only have good and supportive parents, and good and supportive friends.

Aside from the mid-drama slow pacing due to the back-and-forth of the main romance, this is a pretty decent and light-hearted drama to watch. I don’t think it’s a realistic portrayal of the industries, so don’t think too hard but enjoy a cute and fluffy drama, with decent quality and number of kisses and an adorable supporting cast.

A wuxia drama with a sad ending.

I just reviewed RISE OF THE PHONEXIES with a sad ending. This wuxia drama focus on spies and behind-the-scenes fighters who gave their lives to fight the war for their kings. The conflicts and theme in this wuxia genre is different from Palace drama.

1. Overall plot is about the struggles and lifes of spies and assassins. Two assassins from two different sects meet, fight, argue about their ideals. Finally, they fall in love, married and carried on their duties, without regret to continue to fight the war. The kingdoms involved can switch sides and be enemies or friends. So volatile.
2. The drama shows the comradeship of the closely-knitted members. And how they solve issues.
3. The 40 episodes can be divided into 3 arcs. First arc focus on the romantic story between the two main characters. The 2nd arc focus on the ways to get good diplomatic relations between kingdoms. With the hope to avoild war. The third arc is about the feelings of the characters when facing possibility of death. When war and deaths are unavoidable. The sad ending with so many deaths shows the desperation of the situation and make me believe in ancient times, this did happen.
4. I gave it an overall rating of 8.5 because of the story and the acting. I like Liu Shi Shi's acting in this drama as she plays a matured adult role. I have watched a few of her dramas, and I like this role the best. Liu Yu Ning has good acting skills. Great supporting casts.
5. Excellent fighting and battle scenes.

Watch out for the last scene of the drama and decide if the ML and FL has descendants or is it just a dream?

A timeless masterpiece that transcends time

반짝이는 워터멜론

TLDR: stop reading this and go watch, now.

Oh My goodness, this series has left me absolutely speechless and how.

I honestly don't think I can form the words to explain how much I loved this drama, but I will try because I am so glad that I gave it a chance. Each character was written exceptionally, and every actor did full justice to the assignment they received.

But the absolute stars of the show are without any doubts Ryeoun and Choi Hyun Wook, who play Eun Gyeol and Lee Chan as though that's who they actually are. I definitely was looking forward to see Choi Hyun-Wook's work after 25-21, but this kid has outdone himself. His character was so lovable and admirable in being enduring, charming, mature and youthful all at the same time! This was the first time I've seen any of Ryeoun's work and I am impressed. He was the worshipping son of Lee Chan through and through, who only wants the best for his mum and dad, and rightfully so.

What amazed me the most, though, was how three young characters still managed to strike off a parent and child chemistry?!?! It was probably a combination of marvel acting and character descriptions written with absolute perfection.

It very rarely happens that a drama doesn't have a single dull moment, and this show was one of those epic gems. I did not lose grip of the story for a single second. The actual premise of the plot is probably what did it for me - it was so beautiful: children often lose perspective of the fact that their parents were young once too and had their own hopes and dreams. The ability for us to see that perspective through the eyes of a child in this drama is beyond astounding.

The musical backdrop of the show only adds to the beauty and charm of it, and this one has made it to my all time favourite dramas up there with the likes of Reply 1988 and My beloved summer.

What left me gobsmacked about the drama was that it left us with the same desperation as Eun Gyeol to turn everything right for his parents, and I'd be surprised if there was a single person who didn't shed a shed a tear at the end of episode 15 - I was absolutely devastated ?

But at the end of the day the narrative tied back to the reality that it often isn't the big things in life that change the course of our path, but rather the smallest of things that can completely alter our tracks.

This show will forever have a high rewatch value for me: with characters you will fall in love with, an OST that translates all emotions felt throughout the story into melody eloquently, and a plot that will leave you as immersed as the characters on screen, Twinkling Watermelon is without a doubt, a solid 10 for me. ✨️????

QUEEN OF NEWS

It's been years since I last wrote a review for a drama I've finished watching and the Queen of News deserves one from me.

I completed the series last year but decided to write a review now.

For those who are contemplating whether to watch or not, my answer is YES! Why yes? I'm listing out the reasons why.

1. Charmaine Sheh's acting! As we all know, Charmaine Sheh's acting never failed her fans and she will do her best for whatever role she gets she did well for Man Wai Sum! She went to learn from actual news anchors and studied a lot for this role! That's what we call professionalism! Her aura, her stance, everything! She did well in this drama and she's the reason why I am so hooked because of her excellent acting!

2. The plot. Well, for a long time, TVB hasn't produced dramas that felt like the "old" TVB. This one can count as one. I mean there have been good TVB dramas in recent years but the Queen of News is top-notch. It's so popular on Douyin (Chinese tiktok) that whenever I scroll through my feed, there are always snips and cuts of the drama.

3. The casts. Well, for some reason Kenneth Ma can't catch whatever is thrown at him from Charmaine Sheh (that's just my pov) but the cast are one of the reasons why this drama is so good. Everyone did so well for their roles and a shout out to Gao Hai Ning for portraying Cathy so well!

4. I enjoy watching show where people fight against each other (LOL). I mean, for the thrill, of course. Office politic is high on this one where Man Wai Sum has to fight against people who are against her. It's so brilliant! She handled all of those smartly!

This drama is a really must-watch! It's so good! I hope u guys will watch it :)

LOVED IT

The camera quality, camera angles, everything was simply BEAUTIFUL! The plot was also very engaging, i watched this in 2 days. But, like other reviews say, there is very little romance despite the name of this drama. I wish they developed the ending of the real world a bit more and gave the couple more romantic screen time.

side notes:
Song Hailong (Hua Er's husband the illegitimate 4th young master) is my dream husband, the way he supported his wife but also righted her wrongs and stood by her even at her worst is so admirable. Xiao qi (seven, Man Er's brother) IS SO ADORABLEEEEEEEE. I hate her family idk how she forgave them but oh well. The last 2.5 eps had me sobbing thinking shen yi died and thats why he didnt visit her. I thought she lost her memory about him dying so everyone was lying to her that hes just at work. that rat took YEARS to come back to her, i was hating on him so muchhhh.

Doggy Dog World

Cha Eun Woo, a young and exceptionally handsome K-pop idol, proved his acting prowess in this engaging drama. I was charmed by his character, especially the humor derived from his fear of dogs, a sentiment I could relate to, particularly when it comes to large dogs. His portrayal resonated with me, showcasing a side I never expected from him. The authenticity of his acting, especially during the kissing scenes, left a lasting impression. While it was acting, the chemistry felt remarkably genuine.

Park Gyu Young, although cute and commendable in her performance, seemed to lack complete chemistry with Cha Eun Woo, leaving a slight gap in their connection for me.

The adorable dogs added a delightful touch to the narrative, with one support actor delivering convincing barking sounds. The overall set and storyline were praiseworthy. My gratitude extends to the cast, writers, and producers for their contributions to making this KDrama an enjoyable experience.

after some nonsense, it is actually quite sweet!

The first couple episodes of this drama are rough - exaggerated acting, incomprehensible plot, and random animation. I dropped it within four minutes the first time I tried it, but now I'm glad I went back.

Fortunately, the silly animations disappear after a while and the characters settle down. once they do, this is actually a nice little mini. The FL is a smart, capable woman who is "cold" which I think means introverted, cautious, and maybe a bit asexual. The ML is a puppy who matures into a decent partner. His devotion is both silly and adorable, and their connection did wind up being pretty cute.

There are some stand-out secondary characters - the assistants and the business partner. There's a scene in EP 21 with the FL and her assistant that made me more emotional than the romance. It would have be worth watching the drama just for that.

The cons of this are the usual mini-drama drawbacks: pacing, editing, not enough depth. There's also a really unpleasant scene early on with assault against the FL that implies a possible r*pe. It is part of the plot, but be warned.

OST is fine - neither distracting or exciting.

Overall, a sweet show that I could rewatch to feel good - skipping through the ridiculous first few episodes, of course!

Left my rolling my eyes

The reason I gave just 5 stars/10 is because I was so hyped and glued to the story until the ending made me roll my eyes. So many loop holes and the ending will just leave you saying "what the ---"

Acting was good though and so is the musical score. It is like Squid game or Battle Royale, you can't be attached to a character cause you know, they just die.

If you don't want to spoil your view about this show, spare yourselves and stop halfway through the last episode. The ending will just make you shake your head and say, "no." "this is crap."

More Episodes please!

This delightful Kdrama captivated my attention. It touches on themes of fear, language, and substances, though I found them subtly portrayed. The exploration of remembering past lives intrigued me, and I particularly admired the strong performance of Shin Hye Sun, the main actress who skillfully portrayed a character engaged in martial arts. Despite not reaching perfection, her depiction was indeed commendable.

Ban Ji Eum, portraying the tall and handsome lead actor, brought a muscular presence to the screen. The unique storyline, delving into the concept of past lives, set this drama apart from others I've watched. My only lament is that it wasn't longer; I yearned for more episodes to delve deeper into the narrative.

The contrast between the historical and present-day lives of the characters added a fascinating layer to the storyline. Gratitude extends to the producers, writers, costume designers, and all involved in bringing this captivating drama to life, from the automobiles to the homes—a heartfelt thank you for creating such an engaging experience.

Gwanhee's Inferno but still good

This is my favorite season, only because of one female: Hyeseon. She stood out to me since Day 1.

All the girls were beauty pageants, minus one, and it shows. There was a female, Hajeong, who had most of the spotlight initially, coming off as playful and unloyal, but I learned to love her the more we saw of her. Hyeseon remained friendly, bubbly, and was the most mature out of all the seasons. We need more ladies like her to get some personality and substance in this show rather than superficiality! Every girl this season was pretty different from one another though, which was good.

The guys are your usual. You got the super strong ones, the puppy boyfriends, the quiet introverts, and then you got Gwanhee. I don't get the hype with him. I think every girl initially liked him cause he was so tall, but really, he's the only one who you see talks the most, and has the most interesting character. He's the only one who actually has interesting things to say. The producers barely showed anyone else too.

Aside from the typical pairings that you see from previous seasons, with the same games, this was the first time so many girls liked one guy in a season. It felt like the whole show was centered around this arc. It was boring seeing this cocky guy who doesn't deserve all this attention, get so much attention, but the ending made it worth it. The ending episode was probably my favorite episode. I wish we get more group sessions or heart to heart scenes.

This was the first season of Single's Inferno with some genuine romance to it. I hope they have a better selection of male contestants next season! That way, they can all equally get some spotlight, because it was very skewed this season.
