An Interesting Rom-Com

STRONG WOMAN DO BONG SOON (2017) is a sweet Korean drama with silly yet thoughtful portrayals of gender and gender roles. While it is a romantic comedy, it certainly has its tender and sad moments as well.

"Do Bong-soon is a woman born with superhuman strength that comes from the long line of women possessing it. When Ahn Min Hyuk, the CEO of ainsoft, a gaming company witnesses her strength he hires her as his personal bodyguard."

Overall, this was a cute drama. It was funny and sweet, and at times touching. Recommended for fans of romantic kdramas and outrageous comedic situations. Cute and funny!

Killer Monsters

SWEET HOME (2020-2024) is an original spin of the traditional zombie horror story, (based on the popular Manwa) but here we have unpredictable and bizarre creatures rather than hordes of the same-old same-old zombies.

This series isn't perfect but the characters are all memorable and unique, the atmosphere of the building is very intense and the survival aspect are very well portrayed.

"Hyun, a loner high school student who lost his entire family in a terrible accident, is forced to leave his home and has to face a new reality where monsters are trying to wipe out all of humanity. Now he must fight against all odds to try and race against the clock to save what is left of the human race before it's too late."

"Sweet Home" is a really cool series especially if you are a fan of dark and gorey Kdrama's, horror shows and monster fighting genres. Definitely an exciting watch! Lots of action, drama and thrilling moments!

Trust the process

Did it start of a little slow? yeah but after finishing it up and i have no regrets watching this serie. The actors was amazing and the main relationship was so beautifully done. I would really recommend this to anyone that just want a good kdrama but without the "chaos" many of the romcom comes with. I just loved it - i cant express much more then that.
I think more people should give this serie a chance - it takes a little time but when you get there, it's sooooooo beautifully made! Was the extra actors instresting? maybe not, i could have done some scenes without them but then mainpeople made it fine.

A Fresh and Enjoyable Watch: "Two Worlds" Delivers More Than Expected

I see a lot of people commenting on the main leads’ acting skills. This was my first time seeing them, and honestly, they did a pretty good job. Some reviews even suggest that the whole series was just fan service with no plot, but I truly enjoyed the storyline. While there was room for improvement, it wasn’t boring at all—it felt new and fun.

Nat, in particular, delivered an impressive performance in this show. I can’t speak for his acting in other series, but I was genuinely shocked by how well he portrayed complex emotions. For instance, the scene where his character goes mad after his lover’s death and starts hallucinating was intense—his eyes truly conveyed madness.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this series and would totally recommend it. From start to finish, it was captivating, and the happy ending added a touch of magic to the experience.

A heartwarming winter journey

It deeply resonated with me because of its tender portrayal of love in a beautifully quiet, wintry setting.
The slow-burn romance between the leads feels real and relatable, grounded in moments of vulnerability and genuine connection. What I truly appreciated was how the music in the drama isn’t just a backdrop but a key element that brings the characters closer, almost like a language of its own. It’s a heartfelt story that feels like a warm hug on a cold day, reminding us that love can grow in the most unexpected, yet deeply meaningful, ways.

love-hate story

Their families were against each other, so they loved each other secretly. After 18 years a small flame of love is still alive and they will know how to fuel it to have a happy ending.
I liked the young and old couple actors.
I should probably stop watching new series where you have to wait for the weekly release of the episodes. I find that the atmosphere is lost and has to be recreated every time. Maybe I would have priced it more.

Looks friendly but has secrets

I LOVED THIS SERIES!! I thought it would definitely be just a cheesy cute comedic reality type show, but I was wrong. The colors popped out, and the OSTs were very soothing to listen to. Not to mention that catchy intro?? Once I saw Son's story, I was sooo confused!
This series had me laughing and nervous for the characters sneaking around to find out the truth. I'm really hoping for a 2nd season, though I'm not sure how it would go since Son and Day have a kid, but I think it would be nice to continue their story. Thai shows tend to be overdramatic, so their acting was definitely on point knowing they were told to do that. I loved the cast, and everyone was likeable ♡

Its really good but the main actress seems a little young.

The drama is a blend of romantic comedy and fantasy, with a palpable chemistry between the leads. The story begins with three men on the brink of being thrown off a building, working for a gang. The story takes an unexpected turn when Sol-hee, the "liar hunter," arrives. The female protagonist intervenes in a serious situation, blending seriousness with humor, making for an amusing scene.

first four episodes amazing than it exploded

spoilers

I’m here to rant, first four episodes lovely well brought out. Than coming to the last episode it was really the last straw for me, because how did they go from loving each other to separating once again due to the fact they can’t move past their indifferences. The FL has an issue that she doesn’t want to be indebted to the ML, whilst ML wants to help her with her dream?! The last straw for me was the ending scene that was an absolute havoc, we went from ex lovers to strangers to coworkers to lovers again back to ex lovers and then lovers again. Like make the plot of its make sense it could’ve played out well if it wasn’t for the last episode. Ending scene made it feel rushed and the fact he just appeared at the airport and she willing accepted him and him following her?!

Overall the chemistry was top tier, when the kiss scenes came up I could feel the intensity and that’s what really made up for the rating.

Spicy love affair!

Taiwan makes a strong bet, in the rom-com genre, with Let’s Talk About Chu; a heartfelt drama about how people connect with love, sex and themselves.

Centered around the different stages and dynamics of human relationships between family members, lovers and friends. The script develops each story in a fun and relatable way, always backed my human emotions. The drama doesn’t judge the characters for the situations they put themselves in, it mostly presents each situation and lets the characters figure it out on their own if its really the best.

The story doesn’t rely on the difficulties of each character to bring out the emotions from the audience and does a really good job in balancing how life is both, comedy and drama. It takes a lot of elements that could be one-dimensional but humanize it with well-rounded and nuance performances from the cast.

The first episode might be all about sex but as you keep watching, you realize that’s just something to get you started talking about love, the importance of affection, intimacy and communication.

A Missed Opportunity

The much-anticipated second season of Squid Game has finally landed, and with it comes a medley of highs and lows, sharp twists, and bittersweet disappointments. While the first season was lauded for its unflinching critique of societal hierarchies and its deeply emotional narratives, Squid Game 2 feels like a diluted echo of its predecessor, stumbling under the weight of heightened expectations and the greed of corporate serialization.

Let’s start with the brighter spots, dim though they may be in the overall shadow of the season. Gong Yoo’s increased presence is a genuine highlight. Every second he’s on screen feels electric, a masterclass in understated charisma that leaves the audience wishing for more. Though his screen time remains fleeting, it’s a testament to his talent that he manages to inject so much gravitas into what could otherwise be a throwaway role. Lee Byung-hun, reprising his role as the enigmatic Front Man, similarly commands attention with his characteristic poise. His layered performance adds a veneer of intrigue to a character that could easily have become a caricature in less capable hands.

Another pleasant surprise comes in the form of Jo Yu-ri’s acting debut. Her portrayal of a young contestant, desperate to secure a future for her unborn child, is one of the few emotional touchpoints of the season. Her earnest performance brims with authenticity, grounding an otherwise chaotic narrative with moments of genuine heart. It’s a promising start to what will undoubtedly be a flourishing career.

The new games, albeit fewer in number, manage to retain the macabre creativity that defined the series’ first outing. Bloodier and more ruthless than before, they are designed to shock and awe, keeping viewers on edge with their relentless brutality. These moments remind us of what Squid Game once stood for: a visceral critique of human desperation framed within a grotesque spectacle.

Yet, these few merits cannot mask the glaring flaws that plague Squid Game 2. Chief among them is the show’s blatant exploitation by Netflix, which opts to leave the season dangling on a cliffhanger. The bitter irony of a series built on critiquing capitalism’s excesses being reduced to a tool for corporate gain is almost laughable. Instead of a coherent, self-contained story, we’re left with an unfinished tale, a dangling thread that screams “watch the next installment” rather than providing any real closure.

The truncated format of only seven episodes does little to alleviate these frustrations. The first three episodes are bogged down by redundant exposition, rehashing familiar themes and setups from the first season. For returning viewers, this feels like a tedious exercise in redundancy, while new viewers are unlikely to be drawn in by such meandering storytelling. By the time the show finds its footing, it’s already rushing to an unsatisfying conclusion, leaving little room for the kind of emotional depth that made the marble game in season one such an unforgettable moment.

This lack of emotional investment is further exacerbated by a cast of largely forgettable characters. While Jo Yu-ri’s character shines, others are relegated to the sidelines, serving little purpose beyond cheap comic relief. Thanos, in particular, is a glaring misstep. His antics are grating and pandering, dragging the show’s tone into unwelcome territory. His eventual demise is less of a tragedy and more of a relief, a moment where the series mercifully spares us from further irritation.

Perhaps the most egregious sin of Squid Game 2 is its abandonment of what made Korean dramas so compelling in the first place: their commitment to telling a complete, satisfying story. Unlike Western series, which often stretch narratives thin in pursuit of longevity, Korean dramas traditionally pride themselves on tight, cohesive storytelling. The decision to end this season on a cliffhanger feels like a betrayal of this tradition, a move dictated not by artistic integrity but by the cold calculus of profit margins.

In the end, Squid Game 2 is a pale imitation of its predecessor. While it offers glimpses of brilliance in its performances and games, it’s ultimately undermined by a rushed narrative, underdeveloped characters, and the suffocating influence of corporate interests. The series has lost its edge, trading its incisive social commentary for the empty spectacle of a franchise being milked for all it’s worth.

If you’re able to overlook these shortcomings, Squid Game 2 might still be worth a watch for its fleeting moments of brilliance. But for those hoping to recapture the magic of the first season, you’re better off looking elsewhere.

A prison guard, he became a lawyer and eventually a parole examiner. He wants revenge for his chief who was unfairly accused and detained. He achieves this goal with the help of 2 women. Excellent alliance with Ms. Choi Hwa Ran, a character that I really liked.
I didn't know that there was such a commission that considered the release of certain prisoners. Unfortunately there too with judges who give in to corruption.
I found the case of the girl who had the child in prison particularly touching.

Junior's Queen Energy Made the Show

What I loved most about this drama was how Sun, a carnivore, was constantly taming his instincts so he doesn't literally EAT Junior for lunch, but Junior tried whatever he could to tempt him. He even used catnip on the panther. Literally, that shameless penguin was born with no fear, cuz he was courting dead the whole series.

Listen, Caged Again was nothing to write home about. The premise of the show was quite unique, interesting and different from the same school based bls we always got. So although I was sceptical, I still tuned in for it. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectation, the execution and the plot was all over the place, and everything was frankly a mess. Some of the characters were dumb as rock, nonsense misunderstandings that could be resolved if they just spoke dragged the pace, how that whole kidnap thing ended was so stupid, I'm still asking myself 'who dafug wrote this?' and I have like a billion questions as to how the penguin and the panther integrated into society with no legal papers. That last villain vs heroes stand-off had me shaking my head in judgement, literally the eff was that?

Yes, so many things made no effing sense and was flat-out ridiculous, but I'll give them this, the two leads, although new, did well with their acting. Junior stole the show for me, that penguin was such a drama queen and I loved every time he was on screen. Not gonna lie, with how the whole plot was all over the place, I thought I'd end up disliking the series, but, I liked this show more than I thought I would. I had some good laughs. Sun and Junior had good chemistry and entertained me with their antics. Their two friends were an okay addition as well, although not really sure what was up with them, and I liked how meta the Goddess was too.

Scenes that made me went hihi:
- In the beginning when Sun saw Junior as food in all those fantasy tripping sequence. Lol, like damn, don't eat your classmate.
- Junior turning his ruined gym uniform into a tank top, and doing a runaway show in the school's hallway. Slay!
- When Junior tried to seduce Sun by wearing that penguin suit. And I can't believe it worked, cuz all he did was lift Sun's arm and put it back down. Sun, honey...stand up!
- That whole catnip scene had me going... boy, do you have no regards for your safety? That penguin was shameless.
- Sun wanting their baby to have the face of a penguin and the body of a panther. Like??? then he got disappointed they couldn't have any. I'm glad they got a fish, hopefully they take it to the zoo and it becomes a person too.
- Junior waiting a few months, then started planning his life of moving to Bangkok and marrying someone else. LMAO, that penguin's sass needs to be studied. Sun lucky he showed up in time, boy was ready to move on.
- How sassy, naive, adorable, innocent, honest and bold Junior was. I loved how he was always true to himself and was unapologetic. He did this whole human thing better than most of us.
- That temple fair date that ended with them in the gambling club, but Junior just went with the flow, putting his dancing and gambling skills to use. Like, children, does this place look like a temple to you?? also how Junior got that piggyback ride... such princess behaviour, I stan!
- Sun's future job where he was an actor/stunt-man. LOL, the part when he fell before they even hit him, then after he was so proud like he did such a good job. Boy???
- That obvious green-screen North Pole :((((
- I also like how deep Sun loved. He found Junior and made him his whole world. Those two truly deserved their happy ending.

All in all a fun show if you go in not expecting anything, matter of fact, don't even question stuff, just go with the flow. You'd like the penguin for sure. So, I'll recommend it if you are looking for something to watch, just to watch something. I look forward to more work from the two leads, Ben and Jay, really liked them here.

Happy New Year.

OMG! Now, I need a hug!

I entered into watching this, totally bamboozled. I THOUGHT by the synopsis that I was getting a sweet romance. I was so ready for a nice little love fest. But what I got, was a love that spanned 12 years muddled by horrific trauma and a monstrous obsessive psychopathic parent from hell!

My eyes hurt. My heart hurts. My feelings hurt! And...who EVER created this drama needs a GD hug themselves!

In this story, our ML and FL were beautifully crafted and the above all way they understood each other and how at such a young age our FL didn't blame our ML...my gawd!! ALL the onions and tears! I hurt for them. I rooted for the true support and our ML's spirit mother and sister. I just... this was a breakdown! Again... all the onion!

I despise how in this world (because I don't know SK laws like that) how damn LONG it was taking to unalive this villain! I THOUGHT he had been sentenced to death. SENTENCED!!! Yet here he goes just breathing in the hole. AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Anyway. This was heartbreaking good and for those who got sucked in by the vague synopsis, this story is about two young teens whose lives are destroyed by the murder of the FL's parents...by the ML's father, a serial killer. It spans 12 years of turmoil, grief, and pain.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Devil Judge for its outstanding cinematography, sharp editing, and Ji Sung's exceptional performance. However, while the first half (up to episodes 9/10) was gripping and brilliantly written, the latter half felt too draggy, packed with excessive angst, and kind of cartoonish. Additionally, I found Ga-On's character (played by Jinyoung) frustratingly inconsistent—his constant shifts in loyalty made him come across as immature and unreliable.

Overall, it’s a solid series that had the potential to be even better, particularly in its second half.
