squid games meet the hunger games

this short series is really a mix between Squid Games for the gaming stage and the cruel steps to reach the top. it also reminded me of the Hinger games as it is set into a distopian world where men are literally farmed following a pandemic that altered the way children are born.
the reality show set by the governement to mask underground activities were also a good plot point.
But the staging is far below the quality I expected. The actors are ok but not tremendous, to my point of view. I still watched the 6 episodes and liked the hopelfull end but would have expected a bit more depth especially with the second leads.

Not for me

I had decided to watch this drama because of male lead but he had given a poor script as well poor dialogue not single part felt interesting . In whole drama one charcter (say character 1)pursuing other character(say character 2)taking help from another character (say character 3) character 4 pursuing character 3 and character 1 helping her. And then character 1 and character 2 had fallen in love with each other . It is a time waste for me .
Only leads' acting was good.

Amidst a snowstorm of love

This is my another comfort drama. i had watched my dramas upto 600, but these three drama's are my favourite:- 1 Put Your Head On My Shoulder, 2 When I Fly Towards You and Third one is this. No unnecessary breakups, misunderstandings or love triangle. This is overall good drama. Perfect Cast, Ost, Story and Productive. I hope i will seen many drama's in the future too.

Great start, but loses steam in the second half

Great first half, but disappointing second one. Started off amazing, but once the main characters discover what it is all about (at around ep 15 almost everything is revealed and the rest you can easily guess) it becomes a bit of a drag.
Would have preferred if the story would have focused on them actually playing the game to the end (instead once they discovered the truth behind the game it became a whole different thing) - I would have actually liked if how the game existed was left a mystery and they never interacted with the tech company.

Props to the main FL, which was amazing during the games in the first half and was actually smart (not like a lot of FLs I see in Asian dramas).
Romance was there, but did not feel much chemistry in the lead couple, while the second leads were very cute.

If I need to compare it to another series, I would compare it to Reset. I felt the same when watching both series: Great first half with a mystery that has you on the edge of the seat and cheering for the leads to figure out what is going on, but once the truth it's revealed the drama starts to lose its appeal.

A Slow Burn Romance with Classic Charm

Something about 1% is a drama that initially took me some time to warm up to, especially regarding the lead characters. At first, I was uncertain if they could carry the story in a way that would engage me fully. However, as I continued watching, my appreciation for the show and its characters grew, eventually leading me to truly enjoy the series. It has that classic, old-school drama vibe that brings a sense of nostalgia and simplicity, which is quite refreshing in contrast to the more complex narratives seen in many of today’s dramas.

What I particularly loved about this drama was the dynamic between the leads. Their chemistry evolved in a genuine and heartfelt manner, making their journey together as a couple truly captivating. Despite my initial reservations, their relationship development became one of the aspects I appreciated most. However, I wasn’t a fan of the breakup episodes, which felt like a forced plot device to add unnecessary drama and tension. Despite this, they left a lasting impression, reminding me of the charm and appeal of older, simpler romantic comedies. It’s a testament to the show that, despite its flaws, it can win over viewers with its heartfelt moments and endearing characters.

Feminine rage, revenge and karma

This drama is based on the webtoon by the same name but there are a few differences. It follows Kang Ji Won who is sent back ten years into the past after being betrayed by her husband and best friend. When she finds herself in 2013, she decides to change her fate but finds out that what once happened, needs to happen again in some form or another. The story is quite well-paced, but there are a few details that felt unnecessary; just some drama that felt like it was added so that the creators could reach the 16 episode mark. A few details were different from the webtoon, which was a little annoying like the fact an entire character was introduced into the drama while another one was never shown.

I've been a fan of Park Min Young's dramas for a few years so of course, I was happy to see her in this one. She did a very good job of getting you to root for Kang Ji Won. I found myself cheering her on, hoping she would get her revenge. Na In Woo does such a good job of playing the supportive male lead that will do anything for her. The two made such an adorable couple in this drama. Lee Yi Kyung, who plays Park Min Hwan (Kang Ji Won's boyfriend/2023 husband) did such a good job of playing such a trash person. Wow, I've seen him in other dramas but god, I hated his character in this. Song Ha Yoon, who plays Jung Soo Min (Kang Ji Won's horrible best friend) was so convincing as a psychotic unhinged person. I don't think I have seen her in anything else but damn, her character was so hateful in this!

I don't usually rewatch a drama unless it is one of my ultimate favourites like 'Strong Woman Do Bong Soon' but I think I may rewatch this in the future. The main couple are just so cute together! I also would enjoy going back and seeing all the things that were different because Kang Ji Won went back in time.

If you are looking for a cute romance, satisfying revenge, unhinged characters, and time travel, then this is the drama for you.

Incredible drama and perfect romance

This drama was a masterpiece from start to finish, the main characters were incredible and super well developed. It's easy to understand Zhu Yun and agree with everything she does. As for Li Xun, whose behavior is unpleasant at first, we end up adoring him in the end, understanding all the suffering he has accumulated by being alone all these years.
As for the plot twist, I really wasn't expecting it, I didn't think Lao Gao was going to end up betraying them, I really liked this trio, I really appreciated that it had a happy ending despite everything that happened, I think Lao Gao had every right to get nasty with what was going on even if it doesn't excuse everything he did, but you could really see his suffering through the screen despite the horrible actions he did.
The romance between Li Xun and Zhu Yun was, in my opinion, perfect, the directors developed their relationship superbly and didn't rush it, and I also liked that they had a happy ending with everything they'd been through, they deserved it.

I also loved the secondary characters, especially those we see in the second half of the drama when Li Xun gets out of prison, the "My Heart Flying" team were really funny and united against any obstacle.

For me, this drama was a masterpiece and everyone should watch it at least once in their life.

Mind Blowing Thriller

A Shop for Killers is fantastic. I watched it and regretted why I hadn't watched it before. The action in this manga is truly epic and mind boggling. I hope they make a second season because I just can't wait to see what will happen next, This show is extremely thrilling and will make you want more. It kept me on the edge of my seat for the whole day. In some Korean dramas, even getting a gun is a pain in the ass. But in this drama, a pistol is the most basic weapon, while we have mercenaries with machine guns, attacking drones, and whatnot.
The negatives of this show are probably some far-fetched plot holes and pacing. Because I think some people don't watch it in one go and might forget the details with flashbacks going on and off simultaneously. But otherwise, the drama is French's kiss, with great actors and superb direction. I'm in love with characters like Minhye, Bale, and Pasin.

The ending was bad the rest I liked

I really enjoyed the first 6 episodes of the series, but when the time skip happened in the last episode it ruined it for me, the ending didn’t seem to explain anything or give an conclusion it was more confusing than anything. It’s a shame as I enjoyed the rest of the series apart from the ending. The time skip also didn’t seem to add anything to the story just a way of avoiding the characters actually confronting the issue.

A marvelous story diminished by hidden scenes

Kdrama episodes typically end with photo cards - pictures that capture key moments of that episode. If you watch these shows on Netflix, that signals the episode's end, and to click to the next episode.

Shockingly, “Crash” includes key scenes after the photo cards roll. These “hidden scenes” can provide significant character insight and plot development. For instance, in episode 2, the hidden scene reveals Yoon Se-Ri visited a euthanasia clinic in Switzerland to end her life because of severe depression. She’s also seen standing near Ri Jong Hyeok as they both gaze at the paragliders.

This scene adds significant insight to Se-Ri’s character as well as enhancing the notion of fated love. That such material is buried in the credits section is inexplicable (unless the viewing public, beside me, is in on this secret).

And one last comment, the suicide scene mentioned above is offensive. The counselor who rejected Se-Ri for euthanasia suggested she go sightseeing instead. So, a suicidal patient comes to a clinic seeking to end her life and the advice she receives is literally, “Go take a hike?”

This is just sloppy, lazy writing. In the real world, Se-Ri would have received counseling from a suicide prevention specialist, a professional every euthanasia clinic employs.

Thailand is now bringing us into dystopian

Clever, imaginative, well-written, and well-executed. Don’t get swayed by its cheesy title since the show has a deeper story to tackle about. I am a big fan of the concept of dystopia; showcasing injustice in a society and bringing a creative set-up on the way people live, was truly a chef’s kiss. Thankfully, the show succeeded in offering this to us. The story's foundation of having an uneven ratio of two genders where the chance of giving birth to a male child is too low was phenomenal.

They also managed to give depth behind the characteristics of everyone from the show with reasonable development throughout the end. The majority of the cast is likable, the same with their cute and fun little games with budgeted props that make it more lively.

When I finished its pilot episode, a question came to my mind, “If all existing gentlemen are living in a small luxury city, what would happen if one or two of them fell in love? Not to a woman but to a man since they aren’t that pretty exposed to the women outside their living environment.” Fortunately, my BL heart was satisfied enough with Pepper’s story. A man from The Farm fell in love with another man who is living in a hidden place called City Ground.

This is certainly a mini-dystopian series that is rarely produced by the entertainment industry in Thailand. Although I felt that the progression of the story lacks in terms of expansion and solving cases, it is still understandable since they only have eight total episodes to fit everything. The open-ended conclusion was great since it allowed people to be hyped for a possible sequel. Yet, I honestly think that the four-year time skipped before the ending credit was unnecessary and they should just stick with the cliff-hanging part of what will happen to them after freeing from the government. I want to see more scenes of how they will fight back the injustice and bring peace and prosperity to the people.

There is only one time from the show that I feel extremely frustrated. It is when on EP02, they labeled Almond as the best cooker among the gentlemen. Yet, he happened to be the clueless one when it came to finding the right ingredients for Thai dishes and desserts. That was just naive of the production that they let this idea end up being aired for the sake of romance between the second lead. Despite some of its flaws, the overall impact of the show was cool and entertaining. Blue Pongtiwat introduced me to this series and I am grateful for that. I’ve been following him on his Instagram for a long time but this is the first time watching him in a drama. He does prove to me that his undying charm is there for a reason. He is indeed a good actor, the combination of his appeal and acting was well-balanced.

Just what I was waiting for!

After a slew of really disappointing dramas, I was just waiting for that one show that will shake it all up and that was this one for me.

I was intrigued by the premise and was completely hooked by the end of episode one. I know some people love the larger than life characters but I love the quiet unassuming ones best, and this drama delivered that with the two leads. I sensed the zing with them from the very first interaction on the drama and it continued throughout. Some may call it boring, for me this is exactly what I love. I loved Soundtrack #2 for the same reasons.

I did wonder how the plot would keep moving once certain milestones were reached, and the curve ball was a surprise- though there are plenty of cliches in this show… I certainly think its been a while since I’ve seen a white truck of doom so I guess Korea is not ready to be done with that trope yet lol.

The sponsors were so overly obvious lol and I kept thinking bro come on, you can do your sponsorship job just as well, in fact better, by just being in the scene, no need to be so obnoxious!! Oh this Kopiko it tastes like real coffee and it will keep me awake ???times by a thousand hahaha.

The music was fairly low key, I mean if you are not paying attention you’ll not even notice it. There were the occasional piano pieces that were giving Crash Landing OST vibes, which was lovely.

Overall I was hooked on this from day one, I feel in love with the main couple - sometimes you see very rigid acting from PMY but I truly felt like she and NIW were very comfortable in these roles. So sweet!

I enjoyed it, on rewatch theres plenty of scenes I’d skip esp the obnoxious you know who who really isn’t even that attractive. I always wonder why money seems to make some people think they are Gods gift to society, cos it certainly wasn’t her appearance in this show. Though behavior/personality can make even a good looking person ugly.

A great show! So glad we had something to rectify the disasters being streamed on Netflix these days.

Bizarre, but enjoyable and deeper than expected

I enjoyed watching this drama a lot. I started watching because I like that Thai dramas often don’t take themselves too seriously. And the story starts in the most hilariously bonkers way. It takes, however, a turn into a much more serious direction around the middle of the episodes. It is not easy to review this drama without giving spoilers because I think it is best to watch it without knowing too much about it. There is a much darker and bitterer story about power abuse, exploitation, social injustice and political oppression lying underneath the poppy colors and glossy surface of “Ready, Set, Love”, and the drama barely touches the surface of these issues. It is mainly about romance, friendship and simply watching the eye candy actors interact. But it is very well paced and finds a nice balance between romance, entertainment, humor, thriller and tragedy and above all gives food for thought about what could really happen in a world where men are this rare that they are considered ‘national treasures’.

My jaw hurts from smiling!

It got me screaming, hitting pillow and smiling ear to ear. It really is one sweet romance that makes your heart flutter! It also has its funny moments, especially everytime Neo appears! Love seeing this different side of him

Initially, I dropped this show as I found it quite slow, but I picked it up again after I watched JimmySea in Last Twilight. I'm glad I gave it another chance. It's worth it in the end.

It might starts off a bit slow, but once it picks up, it gets really good.

While there are lots of fluffy moments, this show isn't shallow at all. It brings with it life lessons around love, friendship, work and life in general. It got us thinking about things we might not consider on daily life. What if you get to live another life in other Universe? Would you want to live the other person's life or go back to your Universe? Why?

The only thing that bugged me is the product placement. It's common to have them and I understand why, but this show must have overdone it a little much. It felt annoying after a while when the script is written just for the sake of PPL. Like, how many times must the MLs stop to brush their teeth in 1 series?! Or, cook noodles, or eat that choc pie? or drink tea?

Like, there is easily 4 PPL in one episode. If we cut out those "forcefully written" script, I think we'll end up with 10 episodes, which then probably the show could have been more compact and exciting, lol

Besides that, I enjoyed everything else.

I really love JimmySea chemistry. It really warms my heart just watching them teasing, bickering, and falling head over heels in love for each other.

The ending is also very satisfactory for me, it's not rush at all.

I found it worth watching overall. Give it a try and you might just like it!
