An interesting watch

In classic Japanese style, they just picked the most unique story from the bunch.

The premise itself is very interesting. The drama portrays the consequences of going against social norms and loving someone you shouldn't. The portrayal is as real as it gets yet beautiful in its own regard. The love between the leads is something that I would consider to be as true and real as it gets. As in the male lead, he feeling of love and the emotions for a teenager are very well expressed and thoughtfully portrayed and play an important role in the story(as it should). For the teacher, she really played the role of a responsible teacher and adult yet occasionally getting swayed by her emotions which is a very real thing. People might dislike the male lead's mother due to her being such a strong resistance in the story, however her character was a very real depiction of a real life mother(specially a single mother with a single child).

The cinematography is classic japanese, simple yet beautiful and always revolving around life.
The music though is really good and adds to the overall feels of the story and also makes it memorable for a long long time.
Excellent production quality.

Overall the story is worth experiencing. If you have some spare time, or you are in search of something unique, give this a go and you will definitely like it(if not love it).

Time slipped but the drama didn't... too much.

Oct 2023
I love the plot; not the usual time travel, but a time slip.
Bae Hyun-sung is so good in his lead role as character Kang-san, who ends up worlds away from his original life. The emotions this relatively young actor is able to convey with his eyes, is exactly what makes his character so watchable and believable. Gentle, kind and pretty adorable. He never abuses the changes in himself either, but hangs on to his good nature.
Jung Woo is also good as a struggling writer with principles (Dong-joo), but living a life that pushes them to their limit. He has a sometimes abrasive exterior, but is really quite mushy inside.
Supporting characters/actors are interesting; from family, to friends, law enforcement and the villains living in wealth, but also the shadow of their past.
It started really strong and grabbed my attention, but as the drama neared its mid-way eps, I found the story somewhat laboured. Old ground was covered too often and so regardless of whether the angle from which an event was seen, was different, it wasn't different enough and didn't really impact the story sufficiently.
Then, as the final episodes rolled out, the pace picked up quite sharply again and it was really good.
I liked how Dong-joo's relationships/ friendships changed, but felt the way his character was written to behave in certain situations, sometimes went against his personality, seemingly to drive the story forward. He could be so incredibly selfish, yet at other times too much the opposite. Overall he made for an entertaining character.
Hyeon-soo, a MC and police officer, I often found infuriatingly arrogant in her assumptions that she was right about stuff. I found her character lacked substance. The actress (Park Yoo-rim) was OK, but didn't really seem to 'be' the part.
The police team were woefully blind to the obvious clues that someone in their ranks was 'off', even when they suspected a leak and clues had become glaringly obvious. Frustrating!
I loved DJ's best friend, Yong-dae, who never judged and was such a supportive and understanding friend; and Mal-geum, who is linked to KS's past (how their interaction was portrayed in the present day, I found touching, poignant and really quite sad).
I never liked Myung-seok, but assume he was a better person than I thought, with his motives being to change things (I hope).
Loved Oh Man-suk as Kai, too. He was SO cool.
It's cleverly done, how the connections between the characters come together and there is a fair amount of tragedy.
An extremely dark and upsetting secret is also revealed at the end, which may be too much for some (refer to 'Tags' for the drama).

Simple beautiful love story

I don't know why it took me so long to watch this; I kept postponing it lol. It was a simple love story and kind of coming of age too as well. Realizing your worth, stand for what you believe in and live in your own terms..I need the male lead actor in more dramas or movies, he's gorgeous and can act. I like the FL acting as well; I love how she grew as a person throughout the movie. Great little drama especially compared to some that are highly rated with a lot of budget but don't live up to the expectation.

Can’t stop looking his lip XD

I like early eps..then the love potion start to ruin it.. this story about their met again from another life.. He cursed by something from his past life.. and she’s the key for break the curse.. but in the end I actually don’t know how he can be heal XD because she is a normal person not like her past (she kind like a witch in her past life). Romance is cute.. everytime he talk I always focus with his lip lol maybe thats why Rowoon is a good damn kisser lol he actually know how to move his face to have a good angle position XD well you will like the romance after eps 10.. Their character also have a problem.. our male lead take a long time to break from his gf.. he dont even care or love her.. and our female lead never learn from the lesson.. she always careless and put her in any danger situation..once okay twice hmm third whattt… so far is good if you focus on romance but dont expect to much with the story…

It was not my cup of tea

I had to watch this iconic drama even though the storyline is not my cup of tea. I would not rewatch it however, since the production is quite old and the storyline did not satisfy me. I really enjoyed Lee Minho's performance, as well as the rest of the F4 actors. I did not really like the female character because she was being portrayed as way too childish and immature (the acting was really good, i think maybe i didn't like the way the character was written). Nevertheless, the OSTs were amazing and this really increases the value of the K-drama in my eyes!

HEARTWARMING 100%

Just... ahhhhh Thinking about this drama makes me feel warm and happy! Kim Yo Han and Seo Yoo Yeon were amazing. I liked that the lenght of the episodes was not more than 25 minutes because it meant I could binge watch it easily and really invest in the characters! I do not know if I would rewatch it simply because I now know the ending. I always enjoy watching Korean high school dramas because it seems to be really different to the school system in my country. And of course the OST is the star (thank you Kim Jong Kook for this gem and SinBi for covering the song)!

Nice series but a bit lacking

I enjoyed the series but needs a lot of work. All felt one sided. Characters are fun and can be light hearted. It has a lot of toxic moments sadly. Horrible teachers and adults that clearly don't care who is right or wrong, students that don't get punished ever. The Series can feel annoying at times with the characters and direction. At time it all felt over done and other times it showed hardcore mental abuse and illness, don't know where to put your emotions making you like and then hate some characters. The series has some cute tender moments but very toxic at times relationship with friends and couple. The series had a lot of promising moments but then feels very rushed and at moments gaps are missing that don't help explain one moment of emotion to the next, can be a mess at times. Over all it's a nice series but lacks true story development. The real sad part was not even a kiss 😭

Beautiful romance that is flawless - 10/10 recommend!

My God, I thought I’d seen the nicest man in the last drama I watched but now we have Jiaxu! He literally has no flaws!!

This drama is a 10/10 for me, and I don’t give 10/10 easily! There was nothing wrong with it in my eyes. It’s so rich in chemistry between the leads. Get yourself a man who treats you the way Jiaxu treats Sang Zhi 🥰

I literally couldn’t hold back from smiling the whole way through.

I loved how Jiaxu fell in love with her over time; and when he knew for sure that she liked him 🤗 Ughhh I could gush about it for days!

I will admit that although I knew they would end up together, I couldn’t help but feel a tiny bit weirded out in the beginning. Especially because they had a younger actress playing young Sang Zhi meanwhile it was still the same actor playing Jiaxu. Btw, the young Sang Zhi looked about 10, not 14.

The brother is so funny although it was a dog move to hit Jiaxu.

I loved how Sang Zhi stood up to the crazy girl about it not being Jiaxu’s fault that her dad died.

It was the smoothest sailing romance that progressed in the sweetest way possible. The ending was also perfect! 10/10 - a must watch!

Sweet Fun Series

This series was so sweet, funny, and a joy to watch. Lots of fluffy moments. The leads are fun and have good chemistry. They lead you on a little adventure of finding each other again and having 2nd chances at love. The story was good and playful to keep my attention. The characters and side people help make you see lots of real-life moments. I like that it showed you the emotions and hard work in its bad and good times. There was jealousy, love, tears, and amazing food being shown to us. I greatly enjoyed the series for all it gave me. The only down part was I wish it was longer and showed what it was like in the future for them would have been fun to see. This is a sweet and fun take on love and laughter.

Maybe if you like melodramas?

I like the leads and find the supporting cast to be generally good but they weren’t enough to overcome clunky dialog (maybe it is poor translation), the cheesy premise of the series, or the stilted and unnecessary English dialogue. I can’t help wondering if some roles were miscast. It also seemed like there was a lot of dubbing which feels odd and smacks of poor production quality.

Xing Zhao Lin is attractive and funny and can sing, but it’s hard to watch him cry. Is that how he cries in real life? Maybe the clunky dialogue and awkward scenes make it hard for him to cry when needed? He does a good enough job with other scenes and otherwise conveys that he is hurt by his loss, but I just can’t tell if he is laughing or crying.

The way that they styled Liang Jie in the first episodes of the series seems too cartoonish like they miscast her in this series. She is so good in other roles and seems more comfortable as the series progresses that I can’t tell if it’s because her character arc brings her character more in line with her persona or if it’s the writing and directing.

Li Jiulin is an attractive and capable second male lead. He is well cast because it fits with his public image. He is a solid, versatile actor and isn’t really challenged by having to play a range of emotions in this role. He shows in Circle of Love that he has the ability to bring depth and range to a role.

It's... mid?

I went into this with no expectations, as I just randomly clicked a show on viki, but I have to be honest, kinda disappointing?
The story progressed really weirdly, and I feel like they just spent 5 episodes on him camping outside (great and seamless productplacement w the car btw/j)
We didn't get much story on when he left and how it was for him, or any resolution around that, the only thing we got to know was that he left because of his feelings, and that they're now reunited.
The script feels... forced and patchy like a Wattpad fanfiction, and they could've managed to fill a lot of holes and make the whole story more consistent if the episodes were 20min, or if they replaced some scenes where he's just sitting outside grilling. The story progressed, yes, but not like a red thread, more like a pogostick, if that makes sense?
The actors are great but lack chemistry. If you know that the script is gonna make you kiss another man, why say yes when you can't do it properly?! I'm tired of tenth grade theater show kisses...
Best part is the ost, AMAZING! On my playlist rn!

Confused and Sad?

I can't fault the actors in this series, truly I could tell they were all trying their best to make the best of very bad script but I wouldn't recommend this to watch

As many can tell from my reviews, I am a very avid fan of these dramas which is why I gave my all to this series. Truly I tried to grit my teeth to watch it through the very confusing story and I even wouldn't have given a second thought to the very weird "antidote" that the female leads kiss is framed as for the male leads disease but honestly it got creepy after a while.

STILL I tried to watch, hoping for a redeeming story between the couple, to hope for a glimmer of chemistry. but the story just kept getting more confusing with characters going on random plot lines for absolutely no reason to progress the story. I honestly started to just watch it without really trying to understand each persons actions but just wanting to finish the series, since I hate to give a review without watching the entire series

Then I got a ways into episode 23 and I just had to laugh at the absurdity of what was happening and just couldn't push myself to watch anymore. I realized that I shouldn't have watched this series past the first few episodes when I began ignoring the apparent issues in the storyline.
