Another really great drama! The main characters acting are pretty great. I like that it involved issues of mental health. I ended up caring a lot about all the personalities he had. It was very funny but definitely emotional and it just hooked you in, def recommend.

So many people highly rated this drama that's why I had an obligation to watch it. Don't get me wrong from my rating - I did love it, but I had such high expectations for this, that the drama itself couldn't top them.

I was sure that this was going to be in my favorites list. Absolutely positively. But based on what others said, personally, I didn't shed a single tear, nor was I heartbroken or shocked by this drama. The start of it was strong - suspense, romance building so fast since the very beginning. However, the story got quite draggy all of the sudden. Many things were repeated over and over again. I don't know, maybe it's the effect of watching a 20 episode drama, when you start craving something completely new. Nevertheless, I did find myself enjoying the whole flow, character development and the unique comedy amongst all of them. The storyline looks somewhat unrealistic at the first glance, but somehow, the directors made it work. Or was it the acting?
And most importantly when it comes to Kill Me Heal Me, I think everyone was drawn in by the characters, or the actors that actually played them. I won't be able to stress this enough, but Ji Song was fantastic in this! The way he played every one of his personalities show this actor's real talent and potential to be casted in literally any drama of any genre. Apart from the male actor, there was a lot of screaming from the female lead. Thank god that she settled down towards the end of the drama. Even Park Seo Joon, who is, by the way, my favorite actor of all time, was great in this as a side character. Totally deserves to the the nation's oppa!~
I noticed that everyone loved the main track called "Auditory Hallucination" from the OST. It's a great song, but they shouldn't have overplayed it in the drama. In addition, love the fact that the actors themselves participated in the recording of the songs for this series!

So that's just my tiny little opinion about the well-known and appreciated series Kill Me Heal Me. It would've been a favorite of mine as well, but it got super stretched out and repeated lots of things. However, I think the amazing acting makes up for the flaws! So go watch it and see for yourselves!

Imagination should be saved for the future.

Okay, so, the bad, the good, and the DID.

Let's go in that order. So, the story is essentially about a man with DID who eventually meets a doctor, and one of his personalities falls for her. There is past history and childhood trauma, the whole works. In regards to tropes, this one ticks a lot of boxes, but not in a disinteresting way. The story keeps moving for the most part, and the different personalities make to keep it interesting along the way. There is, of course, a company that everyone's fighting for and this offers some tense exchanges between characters as well as some fun exchanges. Probably the biggest flaw in this was the FL and her brother. The FL can be loud and screamy and though she's numerously pointed out to be a tough character, she often wavers in the face of forcefulness or manipulation. They make up for it in other parts, so it wasn't completely unbearable but I would have liked her to be a bit more consistent. Meanwhile the brother is at times forceful and goes behind her back to what he thinks is right. This unfortunately leads to some tense and frustrating scenes that seemed to have no place except to create extra drama. Despite those annoyances, the skip bar is there for a reason and it's easy to get past those grievances.

Now, the good and the DID. The acting on everyone's part was pretty good, but the one that shined was the ML. Ji Sung delivered a flawless performance as he tackled 5/6 different personalities. If you don't know, DID stands for Dissociative Identity Disorder and generally takes place when a traumatic event happens causing the mind to protect itself. Ji Sung acts as Cha Do Hyun who suffers from this illness and must navigate his day to day life with these other personalities popping out every so often. It makes for some funny and sad adventures. The slow reveal of the story is quite good, and just endure through the subpar CGI as it is a plot device. There were some strings that were left untied in the story, but they weren't super glaring so it wasn't a huge problem. They do address child abuse in here, though it's not too explicit, and I loved how they lightly tackled blame shifting. It was subtle, but it was there and I appreciated it. The OST is AMAZING. I often went back and listened to it over the years before I got around to finishing this, and I still love it.

All in all, a good drama that stays pretty straightforward. I would recommend giving this a go if you're looking for something mildly serious with some romance. Also, just watch for the five different personalities. They made for some very fun and heartbreaking drama watching.

Here we go again. Another highly rated/ acclaimed drama that I really struggled to finish. Although the story was compelling, and the acting was good I really felt that it went more than it should, and it really dragged on. I mean episodes 8-16 were really not that much and could have been summed up in 2-3 episodes. Another reason I couldn’t get into it was the FL. She was so irritating. Every time she was on the screen, she never failed to make me cringe and I was just struggling to pay attention. I was really forcing myself not to skip! I mean by the time they had the big twist with the missing child’s real name/identity I honestly did not care, totally lost its momentum.

The only thing that kept me going was the ML lead. He was the strongest asset of this drama and probably the only reason I kept watching. His ability to portray every single character and make them easily distinguishable just by one look is amazing. I mean he was on screen and he made you miss him because you miss another character (I do not know if this makes sense). Ji Sung has the most expressive eyes! No need to scream or shout, every emotion it was just there in his eyes! Although I sometime thought that he was overacting, it wasn’t to the point that made me want to turn it off.

As mentioned above the FL was the weakest part of the show. Honestly, her character almost made me want to drop this!

She was too immature and childish and in no way professional and definitely not qualified to be a psychiatrist. Like worst psychiatrist ever! Totally unequip to help anyone! For the life of me I cannot understand how 2 of the Mls personalities were attracted to her (even with the past connection)! I really felt she was annoying, and I did not care for her character at all. I think this is the actress fault. I really felt she is a good actress, those rare moments when she was composed and acted like a normal person, she was quite good, but all that shouting and loud crying and trying to act all cute, really made me cringe. They should stop giving her or she should stop king these types of roles. She cannot pull them off! She was sooo overacting using every muscle in her face. This is the second drama of hers I have seen. In She was beautiful, she acted the exact same way and I also thought that her character was annoying & childish so it must be something more there than the writing.

Also, the chemistry between the 2 also left a lot to be desired. I wasn’t sold on them as a couple. Ji Sung as Yo Na had more chemistry with Park Seo Joon that the 2 Leads.

If I'm being honest, I had a really hard time connecting to this show despite how intriguing I thought the premise was.

The humor was there but it wasn't really my style of humor (which usually is more dry and sarcastic), and the mystery/melodrama of finding out the past also wasn't heavy and engaging enough to make me shed tears.

Something about the way it was edited/produced also made some of the flashbacks, especially at the start of the drama, look parodic as if the characters were just dancing in front of a green screen, and it was hard to take it seriously that way.

I do appreciate the handling of several important topics like child abuse and trauma though, and how the DID played into this was really touching.

When I first read the synopsis I thought this would be a melodrama that’s very deep and sad with lots of angst. Any drama dealing with mental health issues would definitely have lots of that. Though it does have some of that, what surprised me was how funny it was. When the male leads (Ji Sung) 17 year old female personality (Yo Na) chases after the female leads (Hwang Jung Eum) brother (Park Seo Joon) it is super funny. I mean the male leads portrayal of a hormonal 17 year old girl that’s boy crazy is absolutely hilarious. I liked how this drama touched on sad subjects but then lightened the mood with really great comedy. And there’s more than just comedy. It’s a very action filled drama too so things never get boring. In the first 3 episodes they fight gangsters and blow up buildings. As the drama continues there’s kidnappings, fight scenes, and a character that likes to make bombs and blow things up for fun. The comedy and constant action kept this drama from being too deep and sad. It made it fun to watch with never a boring moment. And the romance is very sweet with real kisses which is always a bonus.
I don’t really have much bad to say about it except that the female leads voice is a bit too high pitched for me when she screams. In the first few episodes she does a lot of screaming and it’s really annoying. Thankfully she doesn’t scream as much in the later episodes. But her crying scenes are a bit loud and go on for too long in the last few episodes. But overall she did a great job on her acting. And Ji Sung did the best acting of his career in this drama. I don’t normally rewatch dramas but I’ve rewatched this one twice. The story and acting is absolutely amazing.

It's an interesting drama without the usual cliches!

It kept me interested till the end. Wasn't bored of any episode, which in itself is a great compliment to this drama. It seemed to be confusing in the beginning, but they wrapped up all the loose ends, or at least most of it. At first, it seemed to be like a weird relationship, almost being incest; but it wasn't the case, which made it seem better. Though I mostly never do ship comparisons, I must say Ahn Yo Na x Oh Ri On is the best couple than Cha Do Hyun x Oh Ri Jin.
Though in the first few episodes, Hwang Jung Eum's acting seemed to be a lot more than required, felt like overacting honestly; but later on, her acting improved and it became pleasing to watch. Maybe it took her a very long time to get into the character.
There is this one song in particular that will keep ringing in my mind for a few weeks now - "Auditory Hallucinations".

This is my first time to watch Ji Sung.
My review will be short! All I can say is this drama tends to bore me at times especially with a lot of flashbacks! But Ji Sung is great a actor! :) I watched this drama because of PSJ. And he didn't disappoint me as well.

Hwang Jung-eum is ANNOYING THE WHOLE TIME. maybe I just don't like her acting in this drama. She keeps shouting and cries a lot agh so annoying. I almost didn't finish this drama because of her.

I will recommend this drama if you're a fan of PSJ.

superb acting by main mail character/s

art ( i mean good art, objective art) is food for the soul, whether it's music, visual, film, theater, etc.
the acting of ji sung is that kind of art - an actor who is able to convincingly change from one character to another within a split second, 7 times, and stir up your emotions, your intellect, your imagination - that kind of acting is superb to say the least, that kind of acting is TRUE art and definitely worth your time and investment, if only to see his acting.
it starts a little (or a lot) overdramatic, chaotic, but give it a chance. usually an actor has to get into his/her character and work on it throughout the production. to go from one character to a completely different one 7 times within one production is very difficult, complicated and can be very confusing. but ji sung does it with charm, intelligence, great skill and more. enjoy.

Wow! This show is amazing!

This show was amazing! I was so impressed with the story and the acting! Don’t forget the awesome soundtrack!! It is one of my top favorites on Viki! I will be having my husband watch it with me next. I talked him into watching Masters Sun and he loved it. I think he will enjoy this one also. I think he was mostly amazed at the acting and story Kdramas can spin.

The first part of the drama was a bit hard to get into. I will be honest... it took me a few months to really get into it. I was not sure what to expect. I saw a clip of the drama on Facebook and was shocked it was this show. It hooked me. So I decided to go back, buckle down, and just watch it. I am SO glad I did!! This is one you don’t want to miss!

The lead actor did an awesome job playing several different personalities. He is a great actor.
