Story
I smiled and giggled like crazy while watching this, the stories and plotline for each characters are realistically and naturally told. It is like you were watching someone else life during this 54 episodes of which may be able to be extended to more and more episodes because there would be no boring moments. It is about daily conflicts in our society / family with no dramatic measures that commonly seen in any other dramas. I have profound interest to every couples and family members here. They were just funny and sometimes annoying. Even the supporting roles in here like waiter or colleague were taken kinda thoroughly. I wondered during my watching, how the writter could be so precise in determining the scripts. Moreover, she (writter) showed a lot of moral lessons to viewers. I reminisced of my grandparents too btw. :')

Acting/Cast
The casting are completely perfect and great to portray the characters. The grandfather was very fun and also the aunt. The acting was exceptionally great as most of them were senior actor/actress. The youngsters are damn good-looking except i didnt really fond of Nam Gyu Ri face who looked like a doll (probably over-surgery).

Music
This drama dont have ost which keeps you remember. The background music also rarely played during the dramas. I thought this made the drama so alive and simple. :)

Rewatch Value
Hmm i guess i will watch it again if i miss it later . I am typical who dont watch drama twice, but for this drama i probably will.

Overall
If you like family, reasonable, realistic, and not draggy drama, this one is the best and amazing one. (my personal opinion). I give it 10++ actually haha.
This drama has similar vibes with Reply 1988 which I found both are realistic and not silly like other dramas were supposed to be.

This is the longest drama I've watched so far. I love, love, love this drama <3
For me there's no boring moment in the whole drama. It feels like listening to a friend's story about their extended family. I especially adore the elders - halmoni (grandma), harabeoji (grandpa), Yoo baksa (Dr. Yoo, the youngest son) and his wife, and Yoo sajangnim (oldest son). Imo (grandaunt) and the second son have their own glorious moments LOL. Too bad it's cut short to 54 episodes from the original 60 episodes. Maybe some characters can grow more if they stick to the original number.

The life of this extended family is told without being overly dramatic. The mother-in-laws are realistically strict to their daughter/son-in-law but not crazy. The dynamic between siblings, cousins and in-laws is relateable.

Acting-wise, the older actors' acting is awesome! Some of the younger actors need to step up their skills. I've always loved Kim Haesook since "The Thieves". Wang Jihye's acting in this changed my opinion about her (saw her several times acting as a stuck up girl hehe).

I give rewatch value of 10 'cause I always watch every episode more than three times haha. I'm going to rewatch this at least once a year.

Reason my rating might seem a little low is b/c I'm not that big of a fan of 'realistic' dramas (although there are good points to them) and I went in it for one actress and liked another character a lot but I felt like both of their endings were "incomplete" and I wanted a "complete" for them before it ended :/ Anyways, I think anyone who enjoyed 'Life is Beautiful' will enjoy this drama too - I thought they had a similar "vibe" to them.

Story: It's about a big family of 3 generations and everything that "happens" to them in their life.

Cast: Wang Ji Hye as Yuri - probably the most different portrayal of a character you've seen her play yet lol - most know that she usually plays a snobby rich woman who sometimes lurks on men or is just plain stuck up - but in this drama she is a quirky clumsy delightful fun loving girl who is a bit ignorant and speaks her mind even when she shouldn't lol - I found her character to be adorably cute! She was my 2nd favorite character in the drama (or maybe I should say she was my favorite character by herself - whilst another character was my favorite inside her relationship) ;)
Yoon So Yi as Se Hee - my favorite character inside her relationship with her husband ^^ She is strong and resilient and loves her husband so much - I really enjoyed their relationship and the "turmoil" it went through b/c of a secret - she went to the bottom and rose back up to the top and I love her for that.
Kim Young Hoon as Hyun Woo - my absolute FAVORITE man in this drama - despite his "faults" (and they were BIG) but he was the only character in the drama I could have seen myself marrying - he (despite the wrong) was the most ideal husband. Loving, kind, warm-hearted and very sincere. I loved him and I really enjoyed his relationship with his wife Se Hee ^_^ Best couple of the year award from me!
Jo Han Sun as Se Hyun - He was a decent guy but too cold for my taste but he was a perfect match for Yuri - they were adorable - or maybe I should say she made him adorable? ^^ He was a doctor and followed in his fathers footsteps. His faults were looking down on his siblings even though he cared about them.
Jung Hae In as Se Joon - the maknae of the family and was enjoyable to watch - he was too stubborn and serious at times but I enjoyed seeing his heart get whisked away by a girl :) A guy who dreams about traveling.
Shin So Yool as So Hee - She's a nurse who doesn't trust men and isn't sure if she'll ever marry when she finally decides to go on blind dates - man it was hilarious to watch even though I felt bad for her luck lol - her character was nice and sweet to watch.
Nam Gyu Ri as Na Young - she is a cheerful girl who doesn't have much luck in landing roles in dramas and mostly does modeling work b/c of her mom - she starts hanging out with Se Joon a lot and gets swooped up in the air of love lol
Seo Ji Hye as Ji Sun - She is Na Young's older sister and lost her husband only 15days after marriage and her mother-in-law shortly after (I went into this drama for her but she has very little screen time - I swear she's just a side character). She works as a Teacher (English teacher I think) Lecturer or something - It's hard figuring out all their jobs lol
The grandparents were funny and nice, the aunt was a big mouth but also lonely, Min Ho was a quiet and reserved bear who has a bad drunk habit and who lost his wife and son too soon, Kyung Ho is a very rude hot tempered guy who never learns to be nice to his wife (worst husband material ever) His wife is very put down by him daily, Jae Ho is a doctor and lives with his parents wife and kids (best son of the grandparents) his wife runs the house and is very nice (of course I love all of Kim Hae Sook's character roles lol).

Music: I didn't notice much there was a song or two played here and there that I liked but they weren't part of the actual OST... I mainly liked the funny music that came on when Yuri was on screen lol

Rewatch value: ... I probably won't re-watch this but others may like it more than I did...

slice of life family drama

●HOW I CAME TO IT
I am a huge Jung Hae In fan, with this 54 episode family drama I thought I could have quite a peek of my cutie pie, but I got to see a drama narrated by a woman who had been living as a housewife leaving her job, caring for her family. it might seem like drama for old people but that's not true it has all the youngsters getting guide from their parents and elder.

●STORY
This drama is narrated by Han Hye Gyung, the youngest daughter-in-law of the Yoo family. She lives with her in-laws and has cared for them. She has cooked three meals every day, looked after her three children, husband, mother in law and father law and the elders patiently. As the days pass and she is approaching the age of 60 major changes are happening which not only affect her but her family as well.

●PLOT VIEW
The joyous of living in a joint family. This drama has a slice of life, every plot seems felt like I have seen it in real life. While going through the journey of Hye Gyung, I thought it to be painful, but after some time I realized she chose that life. While many would think she didn’t get anything in return, staying in a joint family has its perks. When Hye Gyung had problems, mother in law always gave her some meaningful advice. The children respected their family and the good upbringing showed in their behavior. Whenever the elder argued the youngster would slip out of the room. I usually 2x the speed during arguments which made the dialogues and gestures funny rather than angry like the squeaking of a squirrel.
All the relationships were beautiful, but a few of my favorites were Ji sun with her father in law, Se Hee's relationship with Jae Hyun.
Unlike any family, this series also Se Hyun and Se Joon as brothers had less bonding than the others. Se Hyun looks down on his brother, but still, he was not bad at heart. And Se Joon(Jung Hae In) dreams of becoming a traveler but got entwined in a romantic relationship, why was he not able to focus. Thankfully the parents understood and supported him.

The cousins had friendly relationships and were always there for each other. Of course, the bad side is they sometimes get into some private matters was annoying but perks come with some disadvantages.
The wide range of blind dates of Yoo So Hee was hilarious scenes.
Yoo Ri was clumsy and kind but honestly, I didn’t like her character, it always felt like she is faking it.
The three brothers had quite a bonding, and they supported each other during the low times. That credit goes to the grandmother, Kim Sook Ja who took care of every matter positively and neatly.
Hye Gyung had maintained her friendship with her friends and I liked the fact they met every month, having some good time off their routine.

The only thing I didn’t like about the show was getting the single ones married. Also why grandfathers wanted to live alone, during old age shouldn't they live with their children and grandchildren.
The ending was fine but felt rushed, cause there were many loose bits left untied. But later on, I found that the episode was cut down by the channel.

●ACTING/CAST
Everyone did an excellent job and I get touched with everyone.
Hye Gyung (Kim Hae Sook) I had always seen her as a mother of leads, but her emotions narrated this series, which showed me a very different perspective of her. She had very simple yet powerful acting skills.
Yoo Se Joon (Jung Hae In) was eye candy and being the youngest of family, he seemed troublesome but he sorted out his life diligently. he played his life character with that innocent face like a pro.
I didn’t like Lee Na Yeong(Nam Gyu Ri) because her laugh felt so much weird. I just ringed in the ear. I didn’t like the big-mouth aunt.

●MUSIC
I didn’t catch any OST if it's present, and BGM was also minimal. I liked that there was a natural tone to the scenes. i

●REWATCH
I would watch some of my fav scenes but watching it fully maybe not.

●APPRECIATION
Teaches us lots of valuable lessons about life. How we should appreciate having elders who are there to guide us with their knowledge and wisdom.

●FAV SCENE
Se Joon telling about his dream of becoming a traveler to his mother, father, and grandmother.

●QUOTES
If your children hurt you and don’t listen to you when they want to follow their own path and don’t do as you choose, think of them as a faraway relative @Grandmother
Every true love comes from compassion, love without compassion is selfishness

After watching Father is Strange i was looking for a similar drama that will help my withdrawal symptoms ! I couldn't stop myself from comparing them both ,while I  LOVED Father is Strange i "just liked " this one.
LIKED
Story - A pretty neat plot nothing extraordinarily but a warm tale of family bond  that will make you laugh & cry (a LOT !) while making you realise that though your family can annoy you at times they would sacrifice anything for your happiness !
Acting - Grandmother grandfather ,all the older couples 10/10 nailed their performance. You forget that they are acting at times !
Comedy - You would just wait for certain characters to show up to crack you up with their antics .
DISLIKED
-While some characters had a great storyline i found myself skipping parts of certain characters
-Not satisfied with the ending
OVERALL
Dont expect a 16 drama fast paced story & get disappointed , yes you do have multiple strong romantic tracks but not the sweep me off my feet type more like let's get married & fight with in laws type ???? Just watch it for the sheer strength certain characters show when faced with heartbreaking situations and how they overcome it .

Wish it was a bit more interesting...

For the first 1/3, the drama was nauseating and almost unbearable at times. They were Jumping between too many characters in a single episode every episode and there were too many short quick cut scenes in a single episode. Doing so doesn't allow the viewer to have a breather or to get to familiarize with the characters. The problem solved itself for 10 episodes or so then returned to the same editing style and kept switching between both styles until the end.

Usually for family drama there is one major story that you see it develop till the end but not in this drama, there's no major story only a collection of side stories some end and start at different times. The synopsis may allude you to believe it's about the "meaning" of family, although it's true to some extent, but that was hardly given any focus or attention. The individual stories of the younger generation took the biggest cut. There a far more superior family drama that tackle the multiple generation dynamic much better.

Not a single story of these younger generation were interesting, all were underdeveloped, they either started too late or ended too soon or both. Se Hee and Na Yeong stories had potential but they never gone anywhere and concluded too early, they deserved a better writing. The female cast in general was strong but male counterparts were generally weak. One more thing, why did they had to bring the mood down with that ending?
