The series is a work of art. The scene photography, the visuals.
The two main role made a history and as the series it's self.
It's so saddened that the series got banned at china but that didn'nt mean to stop you to watch the first season.

You can say all u want but this is the best BL
I don’t watch anything for the second time but I always come back to this.Bai luoying is smart if he feels uncomfortable or harassed by Guhai he could easily call the police but he doesn’t and for a specific reason and that is obviously becuz he wants Guhai near him. In China being gay is illegal dats why he pushes Guhai away and suppresses his feelings until he can’t anymore and u can clearly see he starts caring for him e.g helping GH wash the blood of his uniform. And if u believe that Guhai views Bailuoying as an object u r stupid ngl he’s possessive however he’s always there for BLY no matter what and cares for his emotional well-being.For those hating on this series I’m guessing u prolly like sweet cute BLs and this is clearly not that it’s real and raw.And for that reason it’s a unique BL and one of the best cuz it will push u out of ur comfort zone.U may not like the story but the acting is not bad at all,the acting doesn’t feel forced at all unlike some Thai bls sorry only some not all.

BORING
story- for a 15 episode story this drama sure took a lot of time to even develop a LITTLE BIT, emphasis on little because although they have alot of episodes to work on developing the plot nothing much really happened.acting/cast- the normal scenes the actors acted fine but with the dramatic ones you can see that they still lack the experience, well they were relatively new during this time so it's kind of understandable. for the leads they actually looked good together so the cast is fine as well.
music- nothing sort of memorable
rewatch value- considering that this series wasn't even that long (based on total hours) but felt so long because of the very slow plot development i don't think this is even rewatchable
overall: kind of sad that this was banned and the actors were banned from being together again :( a season 2 could have made things a lot better, the discrimination in china is so bad i can't, i'm sad for the leads because they seemed really close off cam

Release those last 3 ep that's the reason why i gave 9 to story
STORY : The story is perfect?. Not everyone have gullible or sweet love ( it doesn't mean I'm supporting a toxic relationship). They're just 17 slowly slowly they'll sort out the things. I only gave 9.5 points to the story because i want those last 3 ep.. PERIOD ??ACTING : I love their acting so much... Like that they act so professionally and naturally that anyone could hardly guess it's actually their first work... Kudos to the Timmy and Johnny and all the cast....
MUSIC : Simplicity is beautiful and the ost of Addicted have prove it... Music is not so fancy it's simple and Heart touching and the lyrics are also simple yet powerful... Oh god i love it...
REWATCH : Of course sure.... Every 2 to 3 days
OVERALL : AMAZING ( ✧Д✧) YES!!............ It's addicted......

The main one, without spoiling too much, is that the consent is a bit sketchy, and it took me a minute to figure out whether both of them were really into this. After I read the book, I understood the characters more, but I think shows should be able to stand on their own without prior knowledge, especially when the book is so hard to get ahold of~
I agree with their chemistry--it's no joke, honestly--but their emotions and feelings don't line up for the longest time in my opinion.
The ending is a bit of a letdown, but I primarily blame China for that because it's clear that this should have had another season (the book is SO LONG, my dudes), but still: cliffhangers are never fun~
Also, like, don't kidnap your crush and tie them to a bed, okay, kids? It's not okay. I promise. (And they just completely ignored that part, in both the books and the show, so there's that).

I’ll never forget this
It has a very beautiful plot. It deserves a sequel, but we all know why it won’t happen.Luckily, we’re now getting an adaptation of this gem on July 7, with a different title “Stay with me”. I’ll give it a chance, though I still prefer the OG cast. I’m confident that if they were to continue the story now, everything will be leveled up already, and it would make it on top BLs of history. It really saddens me that we’re not gonna get it anymore.
I think one of the best charms of this drama, aside from its story, is the similarities of the main leads. Their visuals, their aura, built and physique. It’s rare that we get a couple that both gives Alpha vibe. And for some reason, it really worked well. I can’t even think of any couple that could pull it off the way they did. Normally, one has to ve shorter and softer now. (Which is still good, don’t get me wrong). I’m just saying that their chemistry, is really something else. It’s still incomparable even up to this date.
Given that this was way back in 2016, and I’ve just seen it today, I still like it. Despite seeing almost all BLs by now and having pretty high standards already, I still love the story, the characters and the setting.
Of course if I look at it right now, and be technical, there was really something they could’ve done better. But if I’m to look at it back then, I’d say that they really did good.
I got sad. I got happy. I got butterflies. I got anxious. I cared for the both of them and the side characters.
I just hope the main leads could work again together in the future. They already have a special place in my heart, and will never forget them and this drama.

What I thought and how I felt.
Ok, to be honest and all… If I could watch it again in a new life, I would. I did feel some mixed emotions in this drama, especially with the girl. I was also a little confused on what was happening, BUT!! It’s my fault because I literally skip the parts where I think is not important. Example: when the mom wanted to talk to her son. I still haven’t seen the whole thing on that part, but I still loved this series.Reason why I didn’t really like it was probably because they kept playing pranks with each other, but it was also funny.
I really liked this because it was funny and cute. Their friend or relationship is literally what I want. (Not literally)
Like I’m ever gonna get one ?.

A tale of an underdeveloped slow-burner :(
First of all I'd like to start by saying to the people online who put this drama on "spicy" lists...you were wrong for that and I'll never forgive you lolThe rare romantic scenes between Bai Luo Yin and Gu Hai were superficial and a little stiff. But I enjoyed their performances as actors. The plot is very much enemies to lovers/step brothers. But let it be warned, the show ends abruptly after episode 15
because it was banned by Chinese authorities in 2016, so .... yeah...there's that too to add to the misery.
The drama itself isn't bad, but it isn't good either. It's a very slow-burner type of story with not much going on. I had the feeling throughout the show that the dialog and plot weren't really well developed, but it does have its charms. However, the could have done so much more for the plot! A lot of miss opportunities to dig deeper in the story, but it was replaced with a lot of filler moments with awkward silence.
Is it worth the watch? Not really to be honest, unfortunately. If there isn't anything else on...sure, why not. But I was expecting way more because of the reviews I saw online....but now I really don't get the tiny hype. I feel like the censorship in China had a weight in the show's quality. There are so many incredible BLs out there to watch :)

Yes, I know it's a pity, but even the fifteen episodes that there are perfectly planned and executed...
I loved it and if you are also a reader you can continue Their story in the Wattpad app where the original novel has been translated into English....
Absolutely perfect...I won't say much because you should discover on your own..
But I can say this.....this show will make you laugh, it will make you cry , and also make you swoon,.....I really wish this show gets a second season somehow

Overrated, but the acting is superb.
ML's acting was the very best of this bL.However, the series itself is kida overrated. I get the frustration about being censored and the whole homo-ban situation, but even without that, this series had some serious plot holes in the fist 15 episodes (continuation errors, and some silly mistakes due to the scrip writer's superpower to forget how reality works).
Also, the ending. If they were forced to shutdown the show by episode 15... then all they needed to do was to delete the very last scene. That way, it wouldn't have feel like an ending still, but it would have been better.

So I finally managed to watch this, after having planned to for several years! Good to hear some Mandarin again, after so much Thai ... I had followed the backstory of the series a bit and was really impressed when two years ago I stumbled across a huge advertisement with Timmy Xu in a shopping mall in Ho Chi Minh City; happy to know that he has had a successful career.Anyway, what we got was pretty short (I'm more used to the 50-minute format), so I will keep the review short as well. Overall I really liked Addicted! The series sets a good mood in my opinion, in that it has a healthy mix of (sometimes surprisingly) comedic and emotional moments. I also liked the setting, even though it got kind of depressing (always cold and grey, reminds me of my home); it's pretty different from what I'm used to in Asian (mainly Thai) series. The main actors (by that I mean the two leads and their respective parents / parental figures) are convincing and seem very genuine in their interactions. Gu Hai had some really interesting lines regarding gender roles. Not to forget: the soundtrack is really memorable (I would have never expected to hear the Shameless title song in a Chinese BL series!).
Obviously, I have things to criticise as well. I realise that these 15 eps are basically just an introduction to what the series could have really looked like (without imperial intervention), but the cuts and jumps between scenes were already too fast for me. I find it hard to follow a story when it goes on at such a pace and with so many things never shown on screen. And generally speaking, the amount of drama wasn't big in this, so the story felt a bit "flat". Additionally, the supporting cast did either not get enough screen time to give a relevant contribution to the series or was pretty bland (Gu Hai's girlfriend, as well as his brother). Then, let's not forget that Gu Hai is quite abusive in some moments (both with his girlfriend and with Bai Luoying); it sure fits his character and makes him more interesting, but consent-related issues need to be made clearer (by the way, that ridiculous kidnapping was completely unnecessary).
The two lead actors, the setting and the soundtrack are big pros for me, while I am not impressed by the length (shortness, actually) and the absence of serious dramatic moments. I have a good overall feeling though and would definitely recommend this!
