With Hikuma-sensei on top, each of those characters captured my attention. Those guys who were like some little immature gangsters who deserved to be beaten up, ah those 5 guys, their growth through the drama was amazing, how they become mature, serious young people with dreams, will and persistence, how they opened up to each other and sensei, how they were inseparable as a team, their friendship is for sure one of the most beautiful I've seen.
So many funny moments, sad moments, heartbreaking and heartwarming, fluffy and hilarious, important and full of meaning, this drama simply is a full package. It gives you with such simple, ordinary and already seen plot, everything you need and want to see in one drama. Well except romance, here it just wasn't needed and I'm glad that there wasn't any romance going on cause it would only destroy those precious moments between students and teacher.
I'd like to mention this old man, this fantastic actor who I love since I've watched him in 'Professor's Beloved Equation'. He gives such natural vibe every time, it's like he is there with all his heart and mind, incredible. And in this drama he was marvelous, his portrayal of a teacher who came to school full of delinquents to help them form a brass band was really impressive. I totally wanted Hikuma sensei to be my teacher, to be my friend, I wanted so much to talk to him and be the part of a band, one lovely good man who believed in his students till the end, who fought and didn't give up, who taught them so many life lessons, who helped them and always was there, I don't think that in real life is some teacher like he was. And with Terao Akira Hikuma sensei completely came to life.
Other characters were very well written and developed specially our five main guys, in each episode there is a story about one of them, explaining how and why they're this way in the present and with each episode every one of them grows and matures.
With some really breathtaking sceneries and nice usage of colors, with melodies that will take you to some amazing classical event and bring you vivid imagination, with fantastic script, deep lessons and with great characters, Aegoba will become that kind of drama that will hold a special place in your heart. I know now already how much I'm gonna miss all of them and their world, that wide world Himua sensei showed to us.

You Will Not Regret Watching This
Aogeba Toutoushi is hands down the most beautiful show I've ever seen. You will not be wasting your time if you give this show a chance. The overall presentation is gorgeous, not to mention the message it brings will probably stay with you forever, at least, it did for me.First of all, the characters are so in depth and intricate that it's nearly impossible to dislike any of them. Sometimes even without any words spoken, you can sense the characters feelings and emotions simply through their actions or even with just their eyes. This is not only a testament to the actors incredible performance but also to the outstanding writing this show has. Every character is very thought out and unique and the bond they have with eachother melted my heart every single episode.
There is no possible way to define with words how the music effected me. I know this whole show is centered around it, but they could've played 100 times and I wouldn't get sick of hearing them. It brought me to tears. Their sound alone is one of the most beautiful parts of this show.
The pacing and cinematography was unreal, I never once thought that the story was progressing too slowly or too fast. It was perfect. Every frame is honestly a masterpiece, the way that everything is staged and the dynamics of the characters was the perfect example of directing done right.
There's not much left to be said that I haven't already touched on. I don't want to spoil anything in the show, but I'm not exaggerating when I say that I wish I could go back in time and experience it again for the first time.
I adore this show and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves shows about music, love, friendship, personal growth, and hope.
Don't ever let the light in your heart go out.

Aogeba Toutoshi worth the watch
For me this was better than the American movie: Mr. Holland's Opus, which is also about at man who loves music and becomes a high school music teacher. There was drama, the feel good moments, action, and great character development. The message of believe in yourself and in others of like mind, was well portrayed. Friendship was a dominate theme too. I cried during the last episode, even though I knew what was coming. The acting was superb from the students and the teachers. The only reason I didn't give it a 10/10 is because they hinted at some girl/boy romance with certain students, that didn't go anywhere. Also at the end they could've shown a 10 yrs later where we get to see the students that were the main focus throughout each episode, as what they had become as adults. I will definitely rewatch this show. Was this review helpful to you?
Wonderful
What a inspirational teacher. I recommend people to check this out it won’t disappoint because of how much value this drama could have had towards the hearts of the people who already touched based on this drama. The main actor did brilliantly in this, he definitely brought so much emotion especially the other cast. All of them did extremely well in this drama. This series deserves to be recognised throughout the whole world so that others can take something from this magnificent master piece.
You hardly have people like this who come into your life who would not judge you because of your background or appearance but treating you as a human being in welcoming you as family. It teaches you a lot about bond in how you treat one another.
Let me tell you this, you either will be satisfied, averaged about it or not your cup of tea. But what I have taken from this wonderful drama is how much loyalty, love, passion, respect and trust a person can have towards that individual and how that would bring so much impact towards that person. If you truly care about something you would do anything to protect it.
It was an excellent drama

Imagine Gokusen. Replace Yankumi with old male teacher. Replace fight with music. Add more tragedy, add more tears. Nice movie! (* ̄▽ ̄)b
The story is great. I always love the story about school and youth (Gokusen is the one who should be blamed for it XD). I also love the musical theme, so this drama really satisfied me. Generally, this drama is a bit similar with Gokusen, but the conflict is more complicated here, makes this drama more “telling a story”.
The casts acting was great too. I already knew the skill of Murakami Nijiro and Tabe Mikako, they’re unquestionable. But this is the first time (I watched this drama on 2017) I saw the acting of Terao Akira, Mackenyu and Kitamura Takumi and they were great too.

The story is about Hikuma a retired saxophonist who is invited as a part-time teacher. The captain of the brass band asks Hikuma to be their coach and be in charge of the band rehearsals.
Hikuma accepts the challenge since the bands needs lots of rehearsing but that's not the only challenge he has to face. He also meets a group of 5 guys who are a bunch of bumps but used to be in a rock band. Due to an incident that happened to Aoshima, the guitarist and leader of the band, they decide to quit the band. Hikuma decides to invite these guys to be part of the brass band and help them achieve their goal to go to the national competition. Will Hikuma be able to take the brass band to national competition?
Hikuma is a teacher that really reaches your heart and has his own strengths different from other teachers in this genre.
This drama is about music and how it connects people through a common goal. You'll get the chance to see great performances like Murakami Nijiro, Mackenyu, Tabe Mikako and of course the outstanding performance of Terao Akira.
