This one showed such great promise at the start but in the end it fell a bit short to be honest.

I liked the story but as it goes on and they start to go deeper it kinda gets all over the place and loses the grip on viewers.
The main couple were good on what they had to work with but honestly i didn’t feel a strong spark between them, was more of a strong friendship than 2 people who fall in love and can't live without the other.
I dunno, maybe i’m being picky but to me there was something missing between them, no passion in their eyes when they were together and looking at each other and even in the romantic scenes i didn’t felt that spark, that little itch that tells you WOW i wanted to be in her shoes right now!

Like i said, they had such a good thing going on, a really interesting story but then it lacked character development and growth and the most important thing for me the lack of consistency.
And when telling a love story, the small details count a lot, how they touch each other, how they stare into each other eyes and a well acted kiss too (i’m not even gonna mention skinship because that is not the most important thing here) but those things all together make up the chemistry between the actors and make the scenes look more “real” and natural, it's what makes you feel butterflies in the bottom of your stomach but sadly i have to say i didn’t feel them in this drama.

Aside that, it is still a good drama to watch and it had great potencial to be something trully epic and whoosh away the audience.
I do still recomend it, watch it because it has good watch value and the actors did a good job in keeping the boat afloat.

I'm trying to understand why I never heard about this drama before. This excites me because now I know that I can find a lot of good dramas hide on many platforms. I saw some reviews about this show and don't understand why people thought it so bad. "The bride of Habaek" isn't a masterpiece, but is pretty good entertainment.

Like I said before, I don't like fantasy very much. I can watch it but isn't my favorite gender. I think that this made me keep my expectations low and watch the drama without think that I will watch a major production. The story was interesting and made me keep following the process with anxious, this is enough to me.

The actors didn't impress me much, but about Nam Joo-hyuk (as Habaek) I have to say that I was impressed. I just finished "Weightlifting fairy, Kim Bok-joo" and see him in such a different character was very fun. He is really acting like a god until the ending and I liked a lot of his performance. Honorable mention to the kiss in episode fourteen, OMG! Take my breath away! And I never saw in any video of kiss compilation, that's absurd! haha

I'm getting used to bittersweet endings, but still let a sour taste on my mouth... I thought that they could make the ending with more elaboration, I felt that they waste much time with some unnecessary scenes and ended up rushing things to close the plot. But everything was closed, so I can complain about it, just would like to see the resolution with more details.

Anyway, I thought this a good drama for pastime if you're up to fantasy and stuff like that. Already missing Habaek waiting for me on the wall :D

The reason I decided to write a review for this drama is the amount of harsh reviews we have here. You see, I don't completely disagree with them - there are a bunch of plot holes, you'll see yourself asking "why?" and "but how?" many times and there'll be frustration in the process. The main female lead has some selfishness problems, the pacing is slowish and there are repeatitive scenes. Did you give up already? I hope not, because I'm still backing this show. At least, a bit more than people here. And I'll tell you why.

I do love the premise of the drama, even with much wasted potential, the set-up here is enough to bring a touch of uniqueness to it. The romance, which is the central matter, despite everything, is very really sweet and you are in for a lovey-dovey drama. The aching atmosphere is enriched by the beautiful soundtrack. It got me very interested in the Habaek universe and I expect to read the manhwa anytime soon because the story inspires you to find more about it. And it was my first drama with Nam Joo-hyuk and now he’s my ultimate crush.

So, is it a masterpiece? Nope. Is it any worse than some of the beloved clichés worshipped by this website? “Noper”. Had I read the reviews here, I wouldn’t have watched it and because I did, I know it would be a shame. It’s a fluffy past-time, if that’s what you’re looking for, go for it :)

Young at heart?
Looking for a really cute drama?
Bored and want something to quench your time?

Then this drama is perfect for you!

The storyline of the drama is quite complicated but sweet. The characters have unique personalities and the background characters are all adorable to watch.

The 'deities' and characters in this drama are not mature, but they are relatable to a young audience. They are full of surprises and laughs and fun!

I recommend watching this drama with a young heart and with an open mind. Watch it with your friends if you please. It can be a bit slow at times, but the storyline kept me on the edge of my chair.

Here's a hint: Try watching one/two episodes per day. This adds to the suspense and allows you to make your own speculations.

Never A Dull Moment

I watched this drama in 3 days. I get bored easily and will hit fast forward but not with this story. All of the actors were perfectly cast for this drama. The story had a good pace. There was a lot of chemistry between the two main actors and some great kissing scenes. My only complaint is that the ending was a little weak. I’m not happy with a lot of endings though. I highly recommend this drama. The main character is played by Nam Joo -Hyuk and he made me forget his character in Start Up because he’s a good actor and he’s also super handsome. The leading woman’s role was played by Shin Se-Kyung from Run On. I liked her in both dramas but feel she did a better job in this one. All together enjoyable ?

Remakes never really work out for me. If it's nothing like the original, then I'm usually not interested. And sadly, that was the case for this drama. I had high hopes for them to succeed because the manhwa was such a success, but it came out a little short.

If you're a fan of the original work, just know that the plot doesn't go down the route you think it might take. For me, that was a bit of a disappoint. I understand that when doing a remake, it can't entirely match the original. But they could've at least tried to follow it. Where one thing lacks, another should make it up. I was hoping the costumes would give them a chance at redemption, however, it only left me with a big hole in what could've been something great.

The casting was only mediocre. If I'm going to be entirely honest, the supporting characters were the only reason why I stuck around and finished it.

Luckily for them though, I'm more generous when it comes to the original soundtracks. Just give me good ballads and I'm all ears. I basically like anything that can give me feels, even if it's just a little bit.

Overall, if you haven't seen the original work, then you'll probably have a better time watching this than I did. One thing that I'm starting to realize is that my expectations for this drama might've been too high. At the end of the day, my loyalties lie with the manhwa version so unfortunately, I'm going to have to say no to rewatching this.

With that said,
Llama out.

this is the most unsatisfied I’ve ever been with a drama, and I’ve watched 46 of them. The acting is good, but the character itself is SO annoying. The main girl gets bullied around by the gods, gets labelled a ‘servant’ and nothing more than that, she doesn’t even fight back. It was interesting for the first 7 episodes but as the story progress I feel like there was no main character development. The mura girl was just a pain in the arse. You’d think everyone in the world did her wrong by her acting stuck up and mean to anyone, and her anger and jealousy doesn’t even contribute to any good. Somehow the whole story telling didn’t pull me in either. I guess it’s because every episode I’m screaming at the main woman to just stop crying for a second and at least TRY to become strong.

Well, to be honest, I haven't heard nor familiar with the cast. I just saw a vidclip/ trailer on facebook page. It has a lot of negative comments and I was curious with the leads. I found out that Shin Se Kyung is older than Nam Joo Hyuk though it's not that obvious. After the first episode I was hooked and the rest was a history. I always look forward on the new episode that even in raw I watched all of the scenes. Rerun on my most favorite scenes on the main leads. The kissing was great. It was executed perfectly. it is now 2019 but still I am no able to move on to their pairing and made me a shipper.

unique, emotional and loveable!!!...bad reviews are prejudice

its a real good story...ending is fabulous....chemistry is a bit on and off but acting is good...the cast is beautiful......this story made me laugh, cry and above all feel what actual love is.its a real case of a gold covered up by mud just because of bad reviews.the story plot is very unique...its not like any other dramas having a lover and perusing his love. its so different that if one sees it till the ending , the person will be mesmerized..i can guarantee that.its very very very beautiful story.the male lead has played both the roles, the roles of a god and a cute normal human very well.

Be careful what you wish for.

The drama is not bad, just nothing special in the way it was executed. The overall rating of 7.4 is pretty accurate! If you have nothing else to watch, give it a try.
It is watchable but predictable, It would have been nice to have some plot twists…or if it wrapped up in 10 episodes.
What was bad:
The only interesting character (the half human/half god) was left completely underused and not developed at all! Even the most easy development, the love triangle, wasn’t used.
Randomly popping deities acting super childish.
The 2 main characters were quite literally...stupid… sorry
Seemingly a Happy ending, so long as you don’t try to think about it. They literally left a never aging(immortal) handsome young looking god to live with the girl until she gets old, wrinkly and then dies!!!! Well, she got what she wished for!
The two side couples were beheaded, a major waste of potential!
All in all, if the side characters got a little more love from the producers and someone made the FL a demi god, or at least some sort of immortal, it would be a better drama.

Nothing special

I don't regret watching this drama, but there's nothing special that would make me watch it again. Okay, it's a fantasy story. Romance between a god and a human being. But do they have to make an happy ending just for the sake of having a happy ending? I would just prefer that the Water God returned to the heavens, having done his duty in this world, and that would be it. The woman would just have to accept things as it is and move on.

Another thing which I don't quite like is the fact that the woman is a medical doctor, a psychiatrist. The way she treats her patients is just so unprofessional. Watch it for light entertainment. You get to see handsome Nam Joo-Hyuk and beautiful Shin Se-Kyung and Krystal, but nothing special about the drama.

This is one of my first reviews so.. don't go hard on me and my english skills (thanks).

Watched the drama for the actor. I never read the manga, never heard of this drama, so zero expectations. At first it looked really interesting as to where it'd go with all the supernatural stuff, all the powers and Gods, their world and so on.. all I can say is what a sad love story! (and pretty boring, actually). There was nothing interesting or intriguing about the plot whatsoever. I can point out a few things I didn't like.

The main thing I was disappointed by was the villain (?). Call him what you want to call, I expected more fighting scenes, more action, more revenge, maybe a death of some sort. I expected clash of two worlds as the enemy was a half-God creature. All I got was some jealous scenes, one meaningless death and disappointment.

The drama is based on supernatural creatures. Gods.. waiting the whole drama for Habaek to show his powers and use them in some way, waiting for some nice CGI moment with water, some scenes in Gods' world. This drama is not for those, who like supernatural stuff, because for the most part, there's nothing like that in it! Waiting is what got me upset and I almost dropped this drama lol.

The only thing I liked were the first few episodes. They were funny and interesting, but as the drama went on, it became boring to the point where I could tell what will happen. And guess what.. I guessed almost everything right. I'd say it's not the worst drama I've ever watched, not the best either. I'd say it's an easy watch, something to be played in the background when you're doing stuff. It's not a drama where you have to connect the dots to make a conclusion, there's literally not much in it.

All in all, I'd never rewatch it, unless I'll ever run out of dramas to watch (not anytime soon). The plot and the way they tried to "include" supernatural abilities in the story is underwhelming. I was disappointed, so a solid 4 from me.

P.S. I know they based it off of a manga, so I don't know the original story. Because of this, take my review as things I'd like to change.
