I've seen most of the actors in other taiwanese dramas and so I ventured to watch this one mostly for Jiro. The only thing that was wrong with this version is Koo Hye Sun's acting. I loved her in Boys Before Flowers and liked her but this character or maybe her acting was just unbearable. her over the top expressions were a killer. I wasn't expecting much but I;ve seen the Japanese Version. I have also seen Jiro's acting and he was doing a good job in this. I gave up for the second time. This not even Jiro or the rest of the actors could save for me. I didn't even mind the dubbing but her acting was just bad.

It took me a while to decide to watch this drama and based on the reviews I thought it was going to be a lot better then what it was.

The upside to it is it's a good story and it gives you a lot of warm fuzzy feelings while watching it and you fall in love with the characters, especially Night.

The downside is if you're looking for a happy ending I would suggest looking elsewhere. I personally could of seen the ending go many different ways, but it left me feeling sad and empty and slightly disappointed more than anything.

The other downside is Hye Sun's voice is dubbed over and it was REALLY annoying at first but you got used to it towards the end.

In the end it's a good drama but I wouldn't say it's a must see unless you're a fan of Jiro Wang like myself. He was the only reason I watched this and continued it till the end.

Congrats to the writer, Ms. Watase Yuu, her great works is just amazing! I was introduce to her first by Fushigi Yuugi, I actually have the anime in CD.

Back to business, I love this drama, it's full of funny scenes, romance and yeah, you will cry a river at the end. It will leave you an impression and an impact, I can't get over it for days (well, just for me, I wasn't able to get over that last episode, **sobs)... nah, I won't spill any spoiler here, so guys watch it. I love the ending OST sung by Jiro Wang himself (check his MV at youtube)

It's realistic but yeah, that's how it should be. But then nowadays, many are more bonded with electronics and stuff than being with real people right? haha.. just when you are supposed to go out but choose to be alone with your gadgets/computer at home instead...got the picture?

The main male lead is dashingly handsome and have a sizzling hot body that fits the character of being a Perfect Boyfriend, how I wish we also have here a robot like him waaaaaaahhhh wishes...hehehe... I love Jiro Wang!!! and Koo Hye Sun did a great job too as the female lead. But since she is a Korean, she was dubbed in Taiwanese.

I am requesting for a follow-up story... hope they have a special episode hehehe...

anyway, too much romance I could cry! watch and rewatch? Yes, indeed!!!!

This drama is my all time favourite Taiwanese drama without a doubt! It is freaking hilarious that made me laugh like crazy and it made me sob like a baby as well. Jiro is literally perfect as Naite -- he is probably the most handsome actor that I have seen in any drama lol. I'm usually not superficial, but I can’t get over how literally perfect and handsome he looked here -- from that flawless perfect face to that perfect body (haha). He basically can't cry even during sad scenes as he is a robot but his facial expressions gave you thousands of reasons to cry for him -- what an excellent actor.

Despite the premise of this drama seemed to be without substance -- I mean, falling in love with a robot? Come on! But I'm surprisingly astonish to the depth this drama went through with this concept. Ever heard the saying of 'Memories Resembles Love'? This drama went through a great length exploring this idea. Not to mention the morality aspect of 'Artificial Intelligent' in human lives and why this idea is dangerous. And not to mention that you can copy everything but you can’t fake sincerity -- that memories made who you are and contribute to your personality that made you special that other people can’t copy. What set it aside from the Japanese version is that this drama also explored the ethics aspect of falling in love with a robot. Would it be the same even if you copy all the robot memories into a new robot with the exact same face and body? Would it be the same? I'm extremely satisfied with how this drama explore all these themes & subjects that I didnt view it as silly or cringy anymore by the time the drama ended.

The only downside of this drama would be having Go Hye Sun as a leading lady. The over the top acting was pretty hard to take but she tone down a lot as the drama progressed so it was bearable somehow. But Jiro is going to take away most of your attention anyway since he hard carried this drama alone so I guess this is the only minor thing that you had to overlook.

And this drama has such a great ending! It was perfect and make sense and didnt leave any room for something more. I love the fact that the drama gives us a lot of time for Naite to say goodbye to Xiao Fei and all the complexity of having him malfunction and deteriorate slowly one by one -- thus the impact leading to the ending left a deeper scar to the viewers. It had me crying like a river and I'm in an absolute mess but the last 10 seconds of the drama was the ultimate hit in the nail for me -- I'm totally left heartbroken. You know the hauntingly beautiful yet heartbreaking scenes that's going to stay with you for a very long time? This drama totally nailed this part when they showed Naite's memories for the last 10 seconds he had left -- one by one. I didn’t realized it at first that they were counting those memories by the seconds one by one so when it finally hits me, I was crying so hard so it was hard to even see the screen -- just like Naite's fading vision as well. It was an extremely well done scene that's going to left you heartbroken for a very long time. And due to this scene alone, this drama simply deserves 8.5/10 in my book.

Okay this is my first review so go easy on me...

To say I liked this drama is an understatement... I was in love with it. In the beginning episodes I kept debating with myself whether or not I wanted to continue. Around ep 5 and 6 (I watch at least 6 episodes of a drama before I decide whether or not to continue) did things get interesting. But the main point is that the story really pulls at your heartstrings. I believe that it really showed what really love is. That no matter who you are (or what you are) you can still find love and happiness. However the ending is not what you would expect to happen. If you are looking for something that will make you cry... this is the drama to watch.

On to the acting.... The acting was awesome. Jiro Wang's "Night" character was really lifelike. At times I even forgot that he was a robot. Goo Hye Sun's character was pretty good too. Except I didn't like her dubbed voice. It made her sound whiny in my opinion... Xie Ken who plays Zong Shi really got on my nerves. If you choose to watch the drama you will know why. But the best character of all is Lei Wu Wu played by Na Jack. He made me smile every time he came on the screen. So funny... :)

Next is music... The music was great. The song that Jiro Wang sings is beyond beautiful! I definitely have to download it when I get the chance....

I think this is something that you can rewatch if you just want to laugh or have a good cry.

My 100th completed Drama. Yay!. I was excited to see it because I love Jiro Wang, the subject sounded funny, and I saw the music videos from the Soundtrack. BTW. I am so crazy about the song 'Pretend We Never Loved' by Jiro Wang, that I have probably watched the video on youtube a 100 times.
There was a lot of adorableness in the drama. I was drawn into the story and cared about the characters. I was really pleased with the lack of shrill voices and overacting, considering it is a Taiwanese drama. (I usually prefer Korean dramas) Really great cast, all around.
I was a little surprised about how the story ended. It was not your typical and they lived happily ever after ending. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more about the person the Robot was modeled after . Overall, it is still an interesting story. I would recommend it to people who like Jiro Wang, B Sci-fi, and unrequited love.

Absolute Boyfriend - started this drama since I am watching I am not a Robot(sorry, korean drama reference) and they have the same theme, robot thingy, and I just took notice since I found Jiro Wang so handsome that I want to check this drama out. So far so good. Now I am also back to T-dramas now...where I actually started with Asian Dramas after all (Meteor Garden, I am referring to you...)

This is the second series I’ve watched in the past three weeks that has to do with artificial intelligence or robots. The series starts off pretty well and the actors do an amazing job playing the role. There is some humor here and lots of truth in terms of love, commitment and sacrifice.
Series revolves around a FL lead and the robot she acquires. You’ll see a series of events and experience various emotions. The drama is minimal but we did have a psychotic female that clearly we all felt was scary and creepy.

Overall it was good. Acting was good.
What I like most Ed about it was that is was mellow and the message about how love presents itself 2as displayed in varying aspects.

What I did not like was that the writers seemed to take away the female leads common sense. Don’t get me wrong, she was intelligent but the decisions she made were unreal. I honestly couldn’t accept her choice. The ending was ahnnn.

I just finished watching it. I love all the characters in it. I really liked the ending, it wasn't what I really wanted to happen but I loved it. What i like more was in ep. 09 or 10, not remember, when another guy comes in the drama to fight for the girls love, not in the right way, I like this part because in my mind I already knew who she was going to pick but when that new guy comes in the story my thoughts were a little confuse to who she was going to pick. But at the end I was very glad to who the picked.

Personally, I loved this drama so much --but I know mine is NOT a popular opinion. My friends who've seen it find it kind of boring. They think I loved AB because of Jiro Wang, who is my ultimate bias. Actually, I started loving Jiro BECAUSE of this drama.

It can be a tad boring and frustrating at the beginning -frustrating because of the female character attitude -and dubbing :/-, but once the plot thickens, it makes it all worth-while.

The OST is genius, and some of the songs still strike a chord in my heart nowadays, after a year of watching it.

Absolute Boyfriend (Taiwan) (2012) - being a fan of the manga version of this when I was still 15 years old I was really excited with the live version. When I finally get to see the live version, I’m very much happy that what your actually reading just came to life. I didn’t have a chance to see the Japanese version which is the original which is because I don’t watch Japanese dramas before (*I do now). I watch this drama because I know Jiro Wang (*from Hana Kimi Taiwan) & Ko Hyesun (*Boys Over Flowers). I really like Jiro Wang here, he really did great in portraying as a robot. I am now watching the Korean version of this and I have a hard time digesting the Korean version as of the moment (*haven’t finished) maybe because I already have a background having read the manga and having watched this. I didn’t like Ko Hyesun here, because it’s there’s too much aegyo going on but I like Jiro that’s why it keeps me going. They did great with only just 13 episodes. Pretty satisfied with this drama.
